The owners have done a brilliant job decorating this motel, from the rooms to the gardens & surrounds. It's definitely not a standard boring motel. Lots of nice touches & we even had our own courtyard complete with sand.

Our only dislike was the TV being in the bedroom, but there wasn't space for it elsewhere. It wasn't a big drama.

The gardens and spa were set in a lovely oasis of plants. The room was lovely and clean with great facilities. The bed was very comfortable.

Would like to have an area to sit other than the bed to watch TV.

It was very clean and tidy, a 2 minute drive to the beach (which was beautiful) and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Linen, towels, shower were all good. Parking was convenient and there was no street noise. Would definitely recommend.

Some hooks to hang wet towels and a few assorted cooking spoons would help. Found the pillows a bit too high but that's just my personal preference. Otherwise all good.

The location of this property is excellent, with a very short walk to cafes and restaurants. It was lovely and warm. It was very quiet and comfortable. I was greeted and shown my room by KB who was very welcoming and friendly.

The shower cubicle was a little tired but overall no problems here at all 😊

Well situated for finding an evening meal

Our room was average. The door knob fell off. The towel rail in the bathroom was falling off the wall. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom. The shower head was leaking. A dish washing drainrack was missing. The room was warm and sunny.

Superb welcome, very good information pack and recommendation for dinner. Well equipped kitchenette. Comfortable bed with a heater and extra blanket. Everything we needed.

KB gave us a warm welcome. Nice touches of surfing atmosphere of the area in the place. Well matched. Will stay again.

We’ve been travelling NZ for almost 2 weeks, 13 different places we have stayed at and just want to say the best one we’ve had was here. Fabulous location, comfortable bed, clean room and amazing staff and service. We are truely missing our time here ! Highly recommend!

Fantastic staff and wonderful room, the beds here are so comfy and i love the facilities. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and looked after. Ive stayed here 3 times so far and will definately be back again.

Such a friendly welcome. The accommodation is spotless and furnishings attractive comfy bed with fine linen. . Nice selection of fair trade teas and coffee. Enjoyed the spa bath.

Such a cool motel. Lots of thought and attention has been put into the theme.

Mattresses were far too soft for our liking and affected how comfortable our nights sleeps were. That’s completely our opinion and I’m sure it would not affect other peoples taste.

What a great find. Such a warm welcome and lots of great suggestions of places to eat drink and walk! Whangamata is a great town to kick back and enjoy the beach and the local vibe. So glad we stopped here - and so glad we chose this motel. We had a studio room. So much space and light from big windows. Spotless. A kitchenette with great coffee. A comfy bed with the softest sheets - and two towels each! The only place we’ve had this which is a small thing but great if you’re washing long hair! Thoughtful touches everywhere. Thoroughly recommend.

From the start, we felt so welcomed and relaxed being here. We loved all the finer details of what was included in our room and it showed how much love and effort was put into making this a great place to stay. The owners were so friendly and welcoming.

For us there isn’t really anything to point out that we didn’t like. It was a quiet week day for us so maybe if it was a busier night or a weekend it may have felt less quiet or comfortable.

We appreciated the wonderful warm welcome from the proprietors at South Pacific Motel Whangamata. Also the booklet provided in our room helped considerably with detailed information about the area and choice of restaurants. The room with private patio area was exceptional -clean, comfy bed, colour co-ordinated-so much care and attention to detail. The facilities are excellent and the proprietors could not have done more to make our short stay a happy one. Hope to stay longer the next time!

We were sorry that we needed to leave so soon--to continue our tour!
