The room was horrible. Sheets had stains. The bathroom wasn’t clean, the shower floor didn’t look clean. The shower was clogged, the sinking was clogged when the taps were open. The room wasn’t cleaned properly. Zero for cleanliness and room facilities.

Reviewed Jul 16, 2026Gowrie is set in a beautiful location, perfect for the celebration we were attending in Nottingham Road. The rooms are well decorated with very comfortable beds made up with crisp cotton bedlinen. There were plenty of fresh towels and snacks provided with a variety of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. the turn down chocs were appreciated. The staff are friendly and helpful with great breakfast service.
The bathroom could do with some TLC. The down light in the shower was dangling from its ceiling socket. There was black mildew in the shower and on the tile grout. An extractor fan would help prevent the extreme condensation that has warped the vanity cupboard doors.

Reviewed Jan 9, 2026The place was easy to get to and quite central to explore the Midlands from. The extremely friendly and accommodating staff and not forgeting the scenic and beautiful golf course. The room was comfortable and clean which is a big plus. Overall the entire place was always kept neat and tidy. I must make special mention of Beauty who served us daily at breakfast. She was absolutely fantastic. Also Christopher from the Pro Shop was extremely helpful and the staff at the front desk and bar were also extremely helpful.
This may sound a bit silly, but my wife and I found the pillows extremely soft for our liking and I suppose its because we are used to more firmer pillows, so this did make the first night sleep a little uncomfortable. I would also like to suggest maybe consider erecting a high net on the right hand side of the driving range along the road to stop wayward practice shots from possibly hitting vehicles coming up or down the road.

Reviewed Nov 4, 2025The place is amazingly comfy, clean & cosy. Home away from home. They gave us so many treats each day like wegdewood nougart, biscuits & other treats on our beds. Rooms were cleaned daily. Room service was 24/7....Staff warmth, friendliness, going above & beyond to accommodate us was a 200%. They made our stay worth returning for. Place is just what one needs to get away frm all the city noise & bustle. Central & close to a lot of amenities.
A few recommendations would be to have a bigger tv screen to suit room size. Have some activities inside the farm apart frm golf. Something like a games room with table tennis, pool table, swimming pool, basketball court. There is space for all this, so it shouldnt be a problem to have. These could also be enjoyed by the residents. The food at the restaurant can also be improved.

The staff were amazing and went out of their way to accommodate our check-in and check-out requests, which made the experience even better. The cozy fireplace in the main area added such a warm, welcoming touch, and the underfloor heating was an absolute treat during the chilly weather.
The property is very clean and well-maintained, but it’s starting to show signs that a refresh is due. The carpets and some of the room furnishings could use an upgrade, and the clubhouse bathrooms would also benefit from a bit of modernisation. That said, everything was tidy and functional – just not quite as fresh as it could be.
