Номера старые. Балдахин над кроватью и полотенца в дырках. Конечно это не 4 звезды. Очень скрипит пол, мебель, двери, просто невероятно !! Некоторые окна в бунгало не закрывались полностью так как были сломаны. Ванна есть, но наполнить ее не выйдет так как горячая вода быстро заканчивается, буквально на 1 душ хватает . Завтрак скудный.

The hotel is absolutely majestic! Very very beautiful! Huge. Very green...along the river...you feel like you are in the middle of nature. Birds singing and river sounds...perfect

1 : Hot shower is limited...so the bath cant be used...and showers have to be fast. Even more if you are two per room. 2: the decoration and atmosphere is very atypical. It can be scary for some. With the ubud energy going on, its possible to not be able to sleep at first. Bit in general it is super great. I would go again.

The river was a nice view … I am struggling to pin point other features that were overly likeable in my experience… linen was clean, always a plus. There are a couple of small sitting pools that overlook the river which seemed nice! I feel of this place had some maintenance and some promotion it’d be a bit more of an interesting place. Please be mindful of the steep stairs up and down to get to reception/rooms - not ideal if you have access issues so please just note that when considering :) The abandoned area was once a tarot, ritual kind of area … spiritual events etc … I found a tarot card … interesting spot as it appears so neglected but had random DJ equipment there… would be nice if used and area kept. The temple wall in the abandoned bit is really nice.

I stayed in Suite 1, the bathroom smell was so horrendous it would wake me up at night… I am not fussy, and have stayed in some random places over all my bali visits … not sure if the stench is a wall leak from the adjacent fish pond? I’ve stayed in 20+ bali properties and on occasion, some bathrooms can have a smell (plumbing etc) … this suite has that - but it also has a very mouldy damp smell. I tried to ignore it, I just went out of the room early and came back late. I feel the smell stayed with me and on any clothes I had unpacked. Considering the bathroom has open air windows above it - I just had to laugh at the smell (after I left) and live with it at the time. I was surprised the smell got worse not better. Not sure why but a large section of the grounds and the pools featured in pics are abandoned (can take some creepy pics if that’s you’re thing). Saying all that - if you have a room that’s not the end suite(?) maybe the other rooms don’t have this issue. Didn’t try the included meal - wasn’t enticed to eat there.

I enjoyed the quirky designs, so many interesting objects to look at.

We love the location because its on the outskirt of Ubud, beside the river and jungle. The garden is beautiful, the staff amazing! ( except for the manager lady , who was rude and moody with a lack of customer care)

Well, we stayed in this accommodation for 4 nights in the big Bungalow and was nothing like we expected. First of all its definitely not 4* I would probably give 3* with nice linen. Also its definitely not a catle. Its a really confused project, with throwing everything in, including some Maya Mexican vibe, add some mermaid and medieval, sprinkle with some balinese and Asian. There is no reception, you need to go down try to find where you can check in. We arrived a bit early so the room wasn't ready. When we had the Bungalow first thing we noticed the cracking floorboards. And I m not talking about little cracking, it was horrible, like it will give away any minutes. Its so loud you can hear the next Bungalow floor cracking, even at night if you need to get up to use the toilet. We hear them, probably they hear us. Definitely need to check and fix the suport beam or build some foundation underneath. Also the first night , we couldn't sleep as the bad base was broken and the mattress was sagging. We complained next day and they said, couldn't do anything as the maintenance person away for 2 weeks. Luckily Young Kadek came to our rescue and with hubby help they fix it. Claiming 4* the common area looks more like backpackers, with shared kitchen, pool table etc. The pool are is lovely, although almost all sun bed was broken . The 4 days we stayed, the same beer bottles, glasses etc were there ( not ours) , so not really looked after . In the pool were missing tiles and wires hanging out. The food is extremely overpriced and pretty average. You can order your food on their app which is handy. If you want better food , have to walk up to the top of the hill and find Scent coffee 1/4 the price 1000% better taste. You need to ask for housekeeping

El hotel es precioso y transmite una sensación de tranquilidad absoluta. Las instalaciones están muy cuidadas y el entorno, junto a las piscinas y el río, es realmente bonito. Nuestra habitación, aunque finalmente no fue la suite que habíamos reservado, era bonita, estaba bien equipada y tenía un baño muy agradable. El desayuno nos gustó mucho. No es tipo buffet, sino que puedes elegir entre diferentes opciones, pero todo lo que probamos estaba muy rico. Además, nos pareció muy positivo poder solicitarlo a partir de las 7:00 y que incluso nos lo prepararan la noche anterior cuando tuvimos que madrugar. En general, es un alojamiento muy tranquilo, bonito y con un entorno especialmente agradable para desconectar.

Nuestra experiencia estuvo bastante condicionada por un problema con la reserva. Habíamos reservado una suite, que era precisamente uno de los principales motivos por los que elegimos este hotel, y el día antes de nuestra llegada nos informaron de que no podían alojarnos en ella y que tendríamos que quedarnos en una habitación mucho más pequeña. Inicialmente nos ofrecieron únicamente un descuento del 10%, que no aceptamos, ya que correspondía aproximadamente a la diferencia de precio entre ambas habitaciones. Tras varios mensajes y después de plantearnos incluso cancelar la reserva, finalmente conseguimos un descuento del 20% y decidimos aceptar para no tener que buscar otro alojamiento a última hora. El problema es que la diferencia entre la habitación que habíamos reservado y la que finalmente recibimos era enorme. La suite era varias veces más grande, con una habitación, baño y vestidor mucho más amplios, por lo que consideramos que la compensación no reflejaba realmente lo que habíamos perdido. Además, durante nuestra estancia vimos que algunas de las suites parecían estar vacías, por lo que no llegamos a entender el motivo por el que se nos retiró la habitación que habíamos reservado. También tuvimos algunos problemas con el servicio de lavandería. Al entregar la ropa nos indicaron inicialmente un número de kilos y un precio, pero al recogerla nos comunicaron un peso y un importe superiores, que tuvimos que aclarar. Además, nos pareció un servicio bastante caro, ya que el precio por kilo era más del doble que el de una lavandería situada en la calle principal. Lo utilizamos por comodidad, pero también nos dijeron que tendríamos la ropa en 24 horas y finalmente tardaron unas 48 horas. En nuestro caso no supuso un problema porque estuvimos tres noches, pero si hubiéramos estado solamente dos noches, probablemente no habríamos recibido la ropa a tiempo.

Location, swimming pools, common place is big! Pools are major advantage to this place and it's very near to act and white river rafting.

I love all the part and small discomfort comes with big excitement.. my family didn't like dust in the rooms, gechos in room and mosquito bites. I am used to it and have spent soo much time in different pools all day!

It is just as we hoped inside a dance green tropic area feels like its out of a dream. So many amenities and service options. We liked the spa and also the amazing bathroom in our room. Also love the themed items scattered around the complex.

I liked the castle feel and the stepping stones to my room over the pond was cute ..the overall layout was awesome and unique but still a work in progress

The pools could have been cleaner but ok. And if u don't like stairs its not for you

**Avalon Castle & Spa in Ubud** Avalon Castle & Spa is duidelijk vernoemd naar het mythische paradijselijke eiland uit de legenden van koning Arthur. Die link voel je meteen bij aankomst. De entree is fenomenaal. Je stapt binnen in een enorme, ruime hal die echt aanvoelt als de centrale zaal van het kasteel van koning Arthur. Er staan boekenplanken vol met boeken en allerlei mooie artefacten. Het is een levendige mengelmoes van stijlen: Oud-Romeins, Egyptisch, Oud-Grieks en mediterraan, vermengd met Arthur-elementen. Het is een beetje rommelig, maar op een charmante manier. Je merkt meteen dat de eigenaren houden van verzamelen en mooie dingen, en dat zie je terug in deze indrukwekkende ontvangstruimte. Het resort ligt op een heuvelachtig terrein en daalt af naar een prachtige rivier. Vanuit de zwembaden kijk je eroverheen – dat is echt fantastisch. De kamers zijn ruim en vanuit de kamer en de badkkamer kun een klein eigen gedeeld zwembadje in lopen. De prachtige afwerking geeft bijna een Venetiaans gevoel. Tegelijk zijn de kamers soberder en basischer dan de foto’s op internet in de laten zien. De aankleding is eenvoudig en er is duidelijk meer aandacht besteed aan de tuin, de entree en de zwembaden dan aan de kamers zelf. Ook zijn de wanden dun, waardoor je buurtgeluiden soms goed hoort. Achter onze kamer (kamer 1) zat een behandelruimte en om 8 uur begon de muziek al duidelijk hoorbaar door de dunne scheidingswand. Toch niet helemaal hoe je wakker wil worden op vakantie. Onze kamer (kamer 1) had een prachtig bad, maar omdat je de sifon niet kon afsluiten was vullen helaas niet mogelijk. Ook beleef het water koud. Gelukkig hebben we in de ochtend wel warm kunnen douchen. Het is er verder heel rustig. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en attent. Al met al een bijzondere plek met een sterke, legendarische sfeer en een unieke mix van stijlen, waar de magische setting en de natuur de show stelen. Maar nog wel wat aandachtspunten om aan te werken.

Unfortunately there were a lot of stairs that were difficult formy wife who has MS. That wasn't a problem for the rest of the family.

First of all, this place is totally worth the price! Great value. It is actually a much smaller property than I anticipated, but it was obviously designed with love. It is a family owned business, and I appreciated their hotel policies (basically, be an empathetic, kind human and treat the staff and property well). The reception library was eclectic and impressive! I wish I got to know a little bit more about the owners and their story. Wow--what a global collection! The design was so fun and the pools were GREAT! I was worried about overcrowding as I think the hotel was sold out during our stay, but because of the different niche areas and the small amount of rooms, we were actually able to enjoy the pools by the river all to ourselves several times. Overall, we enjoyed the food--particularly the breakfast Roman Egg (AMAZING shakshuka), the banana smoothies, and the rosemary french fries! It appears that the owners also have a buffet restaurant/live show next door. We did not go since we were tired from traveling on our first night, but then realized that the option is not actually available every night. So, that was a little confusing, but it might be cool if you get to go. The new ordering app system has its pros and cons. It made scheduling eating locations easy (like the fun floating breakfast), but we didn't always have a strong internet connection in our room, and it really limited human connection with staff. The hotel is not really easy walking distance from shops/cafes, etc. but it was an easy 25 minute drive to Saba Asri turtle conservation and we REALLY enjoyed taking part in a baby sea turtle release. Highly recommend!

Upon arrival, we were a little confused getting from the parking lot to reception. I guess following the walkway is common sense, but with the building of the restaurant next door, it might be helpful to add a "reception -->" sign to help guests laden with luggage when they arrive. Because it is a small boutique hotel/family run business, we were devastated to come across a booking snafu. Over a week after our booking, Avalon staff reached out to inform us that the room we had booked inside the castle had accidentally been double booked and the only available room was the Joglo suite--a wooden stand alone cabin outside of the castle. We still chose to stay at Avalon and the staff were kind about the accident, but we were really sad. The cabin is very spacious, but it does not have any of the castle themes or fun/unique bathtubs like the other rooms. We also didn't have water for a whole morning, but we understand that stuff like that just happens. The cute river pool as seen in the photos was no longer accessible during our stay, but that might just depend on the season/current/level of the river. We had a great massage for an hour, but the staff were powerwashing the terrace right outside the spa for nearly the entire hour. So, the massage was great, but the ambiance was pretty brutal. Overall, though, we had a great stay and would recommend Avalon Ubud!

The AC made some problems, but the staff were extremely accommodating. Something I've noticed all throughout Indonesia: linens and towels are stained. Please wash them hot and every now and then bleach them so they stay white, it's not that hard.

De architectuur en de grappige elementen. Het is een soort van thema hotel. Overal hangen wapens, maskers, er zijn boekenkasten die draaien als deuren. En wij konden via het zwembad onze kamer binnenkomen.

We hebben ons laten verleiden door de hoge korting op Booking. De kamer werd aangeboden voor €659 voor 3 nachten en we betaalden €115 voor de villa waar je via het zwembad naar binnen kon zwemmen. Ze positioneren zich als een luxe hotel en dat is het gewoon niet. De hoge prijs zorgt voor hoge verwachtingen, die niet worden waargemaakt. - de kamers zijn erg vochtig - er zitten kikkers in de badkamer - het personeel is vriendelijk, behalve de jonge “manager” die de hele dag heel ongeïnteresseerd achter de computer zit. En je niet eens aankijkt of verwelkomt als je binnenkomt. - we moesten een clausule tekenen dat we geen negatieve reviews zouden plaatsen

I am not sure yet maybe the energy?

The place has so much potential and could be truly amazing, but unfortunately it seems to be falling apart. The owners are away travelling and have left their 15-year-old son to manage the whole place, which is huge. You can imagine what that means in practice. It feels very chaotic and disorganised, which is such a pity because the property itself could be incredible. I honestly feel sorry for the boy because he seems lovely and is clearly trying his best, but this is far too much responsibility for someone his age.

Tolles und Stylishes Hotel mit freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Personal. Ich hatte eine Junior Suite und war vom Zimmer begeistert. Außerdem hatte ich im Spa eine tolle Massage. Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb vom ganzen Trubel von Ubud. Trotzdem erreicht man per Scooter die Sehenswürdigkeiten etc. problemlos

Quiet, large room. Interesting place.

Hot water ran out,place lacking in maintenance and love. Food ok,but need to serve drinks inclusive with breakfast. No advise was given in what to see and do in area. We're not told of dinner and show being on. Just lacking in passion and effort.

What an amazing find ! The place is exquisite and original . King Arthur vibes with stone staircases, secret passageways and carved walls . Amazing pools right next to the flowing river . It was wonderful to lie on the sunbed and wave at the rafters sailing by plus the sound of the rapids was so soothing . The pools in the annex next door were awesome . Crystal embedded and a copy of Pamukkele in Turkey . The theme night entertainment was so original and interactive with us the audience. A lovely meal followed plus dancing with the fire dancers. Such an intriguing place that I intend to visit again in the future.

Nothing for us we didn't like but I must point out that there are many many steps which could be a problem to less mobile guests.

Terrible room. Paper thin walls. Woken up at 11:30 by the most almighty banging sounds felt like the roof was caving in. No lamps next to the bed, phone charging facility really, really bad. The worst breakfast I had in the whole of Bali. Terrible place.

Un manager qui semble inexistant. Heureusement que le personnel est présent pour rattraper le coup. Nous devions avoir une piscine privée ainsi qu'une cuisine. Rien de tout ça. Tout est partagé. Une cuisine mal entretenue et crasseuse (four, gaz et poubelle). Quant aux frigidaires dans les chambres, 15 cm de glace. Il a fallu dégivrer. Il faut également savoir que pour le PDJ, vous n'avez droit qu'à 2 items. Le reste etant payant. Ce que je déplore c'est que le descriptif de l'hôtel mentionne des services et équipements non présents.

Curtains are thin so let some light in at night. The villas are away from alot of restaurants so you do have to travel to go our for dinner. The restaurant in the villa is really good but after a few nights it is nice to go out.

The location is near a small river. It is how is serene stay should be quiet with sound of birds. The staff is very helpful and the founder ensures all requirements of every customer is fulfilled. Would recommend this place to everyone. They also organise internal events. Spa is amazing. Food is delicious with both options of vegan and others

The place itself is very impressive. The person who created it must have had a great creativity :) We loved the architecture, the nature, swimming pools, the river nerby which gave a calming sound. The wooden huts vere very comfortable and gave us a lot of privacy. It was like in a fairy tale.

Well, we wouldn't recommend eating dinner there - outside the hotel is much cheaper...

This place is absolutely stunning. You’re taken to another time and another world - immersed in nature! The property feels magical. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming. The pool leading directly into our room was perfect.
