The Jungle Loft Galle

Hele kleinschalige en heel mooi gelegen locatie, dicht bij Galle. Royaal zwembad en lekker om een baantje in de trekken en af te koelen. Super vriendelijke mensen en heerlijk gegeten (ontbijt en diner). Goed geslapen.

Vrij beperkte mogelijkheden qua drinken. De kamer was heel mooi, maar rare en onhandig constructie qua deuren (afsluiten lastig) en volledige inkijk in de badkamer.

Het is een paradijsje in de jungle vlakbij Galle. Het personeel is echt superlief en behulpzaam. Vanuit het huisje kijk je uit over een kleine vallei. Het bed slaapt heerlijk! Het ontbijt is vers gemaakt en echt Srilankaans. Kortom echt een aanrader!

Nice homely feeling to it, as if you’ve rented an air bnb, but people around to help with things when you need. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious. Breakfast was lovely. The views and area felt very local. Lovely walk down the road to the local shop and bakery, with a local woman selling corn at the bottom of the road. All the benefits of a hotel stay but with an air BnB feel in the middle of lush green fields

Very well presented, nice pool, obliging staff, large private bungalow. Saw some interesting birds and the monkeys.

Staff very helpful if you asked for something but didn’t automatically replenish water in room or provide pool towels or have tea making facilities in the room. Breakfasts pretty but we didn’t find them substantial. We felt it was not a good value stay compared to other places we have been to. Only discovered after asking, that sandwiches could be made for us, but by then had had a supper of already purchased lemon puffs and peanuts!

We loved the setting in the middle of nature. Peacefully and perfect for unwinding. The crew was wonderful. The bungalow is huge and the outside shower had warm water and excellent pressure. We had dinner on both evenings and we did not regret. All food was nicely presented and tastefully. Don't miss to visit the nearby Handloom Waiver Factory. One of our best stay in our journey across Sri Lanka. Highly recommend.

such a beautiful location we saw loads of wildlife! close to Galle fort so easy to get a tuk tuk in for an evening meal or a shopping trip. Amazingly helpful staff!

one of our bungalows smelled a little damp/fusty and one of the sockets was SA style for which we had no adaptor, but the rest UK style (i had been told they were all uk style when i messaged before we arrived) . We could have done with an adaptor so we could plug in a phone charger for an alarm clock by the bed as well as running the fridge. It was very peaceful until noisy children came to stay in one of the villas, then we saw less wildlife and the pool was no longer a relaxing experience. Maybe consider age 13+ only?

Petit déjeuné personnalisé qui change tous les jours, le petit nombre de clients et surtout la gentille et la prévenance des hôtes. Mon amie a été malade, on lui a emmené spontanément une tisane de médicaments à notre villa. La chambre était très spacieuse, la salle de bain immense avec la douche à l’extérieur c’était super beau. Et surtout le calme absolu loin du touriste de masse du bord de plage. La mer était à 10 minutes en tuktuk

The place is beautiful. It is, indeed, a jungle Loft . Very nice house reception and bungalows well located, with a nice view of the jungle and rice fields. The responsible people and the general staff were exceptionally kind, helpful, and affectionate. Great place to stay.

La ubicación es correcta, un pequeño camino de tierra pero nada complicado. El sitio es muy bonito y tranquilo, está limpio y bien decorado. Puedes ver black monkeys por la mañana por encima de los arboles. Pero hay puntos negativos y constructivos a destacar...

NO Vale el precio que se ofrece para nada. El personal es amable pero parecen obligados a atenderte minimamente bien, con caras largas y sonrisas falsas. Los desayunos son realmente escasos, café 1 zumo 1 huevo frito y una bola de arroz con miel dentro, eso es todo, sin posibilidad de elegir nada mas. Pedimos 2 botellas de agua pequeñas para no beber el agua de grifo y nos las cobraron al salir 450rs 7 veces o 8 veces mas de lo que valen. El aire acondicionado hacia un ruido bastante fuerte marcando un error en pantalla. Solo ponen 1 rollo de papel, las pilas del aire acondicionado no iban, tuve que pedirselo al personal, esto el primer dia. La luz se fue el último dia durante toda la mañana... Són cosas que en un apartamento de casi 200€ la noche en sri lanka ni en ninguna parte, pueden pasar.

Everything about this hotel is perfect. The staff, in particular, Praneeth, were just incredible. The breakfast is superb and the room is the best we have ever stayed in. The value for money is like nothing else I have encountered anywhere in the world.

The whole setup is exceptional, it’s small only accommodating 4 units making it quiet and very private. The units are surrounded by what felt like a mini jungle, the sounds of nature and animals are diverse. The accommodation has windows looking right out into it, it’s truly unique. The food and hospitality are first class, truly magical and authentic Sri Lankan. It beats any hotel and you are away from the noise of the town but a short Tuk Tuk ride away. This is in a neighbourhood of local families and no tourists, it’s a perfect place to stay to get an auric feel for the country.

A lovely place to stay, quiet and peaceful just outside of Galle. Staff were friendly and helpful and the Sri Lankan breakfast was delightful.

Beautiful accommodation with lovely hosts. If you are looking for somewhere in a quiet location then this is the perfect getaway. The hosts are so accommodating, the dinner and breakfast were great and the bungalows are just as the pictures show. Could not recommend more!

Very nice place, calm and quite. Staff is very friendly and they took good care of their guests. Food was very good. Place is little distant from everything, but it gives you good opportunity to disconnect. Everything worked well.

Very nice place surrounded by nature (10 minutes away from Galle with Tuktuk) and run by a super nice family. Great pool ! 4 villas only, spacious and decorated with style, where you feel at home. We enjoyed local tasty food : delicious curry prepared on demand for dinner and different traditional breakfasts every morning.. We do recommend if you want to discover Galle, chilling in a very zen place.

We loved the interior design and decor of the bungalows. The room was spacious and comfortable with a bathroom that was like being outdoors. The pool was open 24 hours although we did not have time to use it. There was secure parking for our tuk tuk vehicle in front of the property. Breakfast was tasty but not as big as some of the others we have experienced in Sri Lanka (the dhal and rotis were so good, we just wanted more of them!) The staff were extremely helpful with our luggage and the host was quick to respond on WhatsApp (may have been helpful to have been given this on arrival rather than hunt for it ourselves). We asked for a late check out and help with an airport transfer, all of which were accommodated at relatively short notice- many thanks for this!!

There was no welcome drink or towel (as seen on Instagram) although staff were very accommodating afterwards. Also the room may have benefitted from having a mosquito net or insect repellent plug as there were lots of insects (luckily none that bit!). We noticed only 2 sun beds around the pool which may be an issue if all bungalows are occupied. Also, the WiFi and signal were quite temperamental, so don’t expect too much from the quieter location.

Very beautiful room with a view to the jungle. Nice swimming pool, delicious breakfast (however, they don’t give you an option or ask about any dietary requirements, simply serve Sri Lankan breakfast). So be ready to eat onions and curry for breakkie :D). Staff seems very friendly but English could improve. With the prices they charge there are expectations not only to beautiful room but also the service.

WiFi is basically non existent. First day they didn’t have it at all. It’s fine but you need to be honest with people so you manage the expectations. Same with breakfast. They say they serve it from 8.30am (which is already extremely late for Sri Lanka as most of the tourists wake up early and go do things), but you will be lucky if you get anything before 9.15am. So plan to leave breakfast table around 10am. Again, not a problem but then say you serve breakfast from 9.15am instead of 8.30am. There’s nothing worse than overpromising and under delivering. That’s were complaints will be coming from. We also had some issues with huge bugs coming through the shower door. It’s an outside shower so it’s all very chic and sexy, unfortunately the reality isn’t so sexy. We asked them to tape the door which they did, but yes - be ready to dive into the wild. Also, they only have 2 sun loungers. During our stay it wasn’t a problem, but it might be when they are fully booked.

Really nice and calm gem in the area! The owner is phenomenal. The room was absolutely beautiful. Every single member of staff friendly and attentive. If you can eat dinner here. We were so well looked after and it was the perfect end to our Sri Lanka trip.

Check in without explanations

The staff was very friendly and I would especially like to mention the night porter. I often returned to the hotel very late, he was the only contact person in the evening and always helpful and you could have a very nice talk with him.

The staff were super friendly and their communication was great. Someone was available at all times to attend to our needs - this included arranging a tuktuk driver, taxi transfers and even a massage therapist straight to our terrace. The food was so delicious that we are going to be dreaming about it for a long time, we especially loved the breakfast. We felt absolutely spoilt having access to the pool and were lucky to be the only ones using it at the time of our stay. We saw monkeys and iguanas and lots of exotic birds and wildlife. If you’re looking for an peaceful jungle oasis with the kindest hosts, you should book this immediately :)

The hotel is right in the middle of the jungle and each room is a standalone bungalow so you really are not in the middle of tourists (and there are many in Galle). Rooms are very large and very well decorated, especially the bathroom, which is just amazing. It is super comfortable and very clean. The swimming pool is great. If you tell them in advance, they can cook lunch or dinner for you and it is excellent Sri Lankan. Breakfast was also very good and a mix of continental and Sri Lankan.

It is a little outside of Unawatuna and about 15 minutes from Galle so you need to take a tuktuk or a driver to go around. We did rent a scooter but that was a bad idea because you need a special license to drive a scooter in Sri Lanka and we kept being stopped by the police.

Breakfast service was very slow - 30 min wait at least from time we were seated. Chef just needs to be more timely - does not seem to aim for efficiency.

Great property. It has four beautiful bungalows/villas and a shared pool. The breakfast is delicious and changes every day. Near Galle and Unawatuna.

It was not a problem during my stay, so more of a recommendation. It would be nice if the pool had more than two lounge chairs. Considering the pool is shared between the four bungalows, having at least two more lounge chairs and an umbrella would have been nice.

SCAMM. Room was small, properties with the same conditions usually costs around 30usd. I paid 76usd. The only reason for such a price was bath. But we haven't got HOT water! It worked only 5minutes and then it was cold. So the bath was useless! Instead of having romantic evening I had to find night watcher, who was drunk, an asked for help. He turned on some tumbler and ask to wait 30 minutes. After it water was warm for 5 minutes more and then cold again. I tried to find watcher again but he wasn't there. In the morning instead of trying to resolve the situation manager of the property tried to make a fool of me. told us that we don't know how to turn on the hot water.... What a craziness... The owner of the property don't care about situation, promised to investigate the situation but never write again. In a nutshell, AVOID THIS PROPERTY Instead of romantic night was SCAMMED and OFFENSED by "manager", lost evening and money... Never again!

Extremely quaint, quiet jungle-style location. Lovely owner who was really awesome to talk to and made the effort with all guests. Friendly staff in general. Amazing pool. Comfy beds, good water pressure. Great proximity to Galle and Unawatuna. A/c worked well. Would recommend to anyone not wanting crowded party vibe. Myself and fiancée would stay here again in the future.

Food portions were a bit small and takes a long time to prepare. No mounted shower head on inside shower. No warm water on outside shower. Not enough pool loungers. Main area bathroom often dirty and without toilet paper.

Jungel living very peacful, lovley roms with private garden outside, singings birds and monkeys in the trees we had a late check in for our plane home the very friendley owner let us stay until afternoon. They also arrange a Tuk tuk drive to Galle as i recomende. Lovley pool and the chef when out of his way to make us happy the food very good. I more then happy to recomend this peacful place. Perfect for couple, singel person and family.

The design of the lobby and the surroundings with pool is very nice. The design of the room would have been appealing, however, we felt not comfortable because our room smelled like wetness and mold. We had a vegetarian dinner, which was ok concerning quantity and quality but with over 20 Euros it was the most expensive dinner we ever had in Sri Lanka and thus price was definitely not appropriate. Service: We asked for breakfast at 8 a.m., instead of 8.30, which is usual for them, but they were not able to serve at 8, we waited until 8.30 , so we had to postpone our day trip and could only start one hour later. Further, in the morning at 6 a.m. a staff member swept the grass directly in front of our room and was very interested to see us in the room. We felt our privacy violated. Thus, in sum, price performance ratio is not good, in particular compared to our other experiences on this beautiful island.

Beautiful property in the jungle around galle, the BEST breakfast we had in all of Sri Lanka!

This is an amazing place, starting from the location, in the middle of the jungle, following with the facilities, furniture and attention to the details. The best thing was the host, he served us the most delicious dinner and breakfast, fresh made and cooked at the moment. He also let us stay in the facilities after the checkout while we were waiting for our driving. A full experience we would highly recommend.

The vibe at The Jungle Loft was amazing! The staff were super helpful and welcoming and this morning at breakfast the owner came and chatted with me. The room I stayed in was super cute and the bed was comfortable.

Can't do better than this amazing jungle place. Views of the jungle, outdoor bathroom, absolutely lovely people, and great food. The breakfast is local and so so good, and we had dinner one night and it was the best dinner of our holiday. Can't say enough about this amazing place.

Really beautiful property! It’s quiet, clean, the staff is adorable. It perfect for a romantic getaway with a rice paddy view. It’s still close enough to galle but you’ll have to drive there. I love that this is locally owned as well, the family that owns this also runs it and they are the nicest people! The only thing that I would add, that wasn’t necessarily clear to me when booking, is that you get a private bungalow. However this is not a private villa. They have a few bungalows there so you’ll be sharing the pool area and the breakfast area with other guest. Overall very positive experience, would 100% recommend and book again!

we made a lovely discovery with this etablishment. thé staff is very helpfull, kindky . We made a lot of food discovery at dîner and breakfast with local food. the best of this part it’s very calm and We are enjoyed to have a good Time with the monkey’s team as We are in the pool. the manager All for you for your confort and fine some drivers to go galle fort or the beach by tuktuk (10 MINUTS) It’s our best place in Sri Lanka
