Insanely beautiful property! It‘s very clean, aesthetic, and has a lovely pool and garden. We really loved the room as it was spacious and cozy. But what really set this stay apart were the lovely women working in the hotel, as well as the fantastic breakfast. Don‘t go anywhere else if you‘re staying in the area! I‘ll definitely come back.
Grote Kamer goede airco. Erg vriendelijke mensen.
Locatie is waardeloos. Langs een drukke weg met veel troep. Wifi zeer slecht.
Very tranquil and peaceful. Staff went above and beyond and really made the stay lovely. The included breakfast was so good and good portions too.
Slightly out of the way of both Welligama and Mirrisa. If you plan to go between both it’s perfect but you’ll need to get a tuk tuk to eithe town or walk for around 20 minutes.
Beautiful, simple and very cozy property. Loved the living room spaces, pool is pretty, rooms were well appointed. Excellent staff. Very kind, humble, smiling and helpful. Well maintained
What a beautiful property! Architecturally stunning and extremely comfortable. The staff were lovely and go above and beyond to make you happy. The daily breakfast were a highlight and we loved that they had refillable glass water bottles, such a bonus on a stay in a country without drinkable tap water.
Our only slight flaw was the proximity to the bridge, starts to get noisy at 6am although this would be similar in many hotels in the area.
Really nice and helpfull Staff. Great Breakfast, clean Rooms and good location.
nothing.
This place is amazing. We came back, cos we loved it first time. Staff is professional and friendly. Rooms are clean and big and perfect in any case for europeans. We will come back🌸

A lovely place with a great pool. The Weligama beach was a quick walk away, the breakfast was wonderful! The highlight was the staff that was extremely courteous, helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay.
Everything is perfect! The staff managed to prepare apartment earlier for us which was super convenient. From very first moment we felt welcome and good taken care of. Breakfast - one of the best in Sri Lanka. The women that’s run this place put a lot of effort and heart to this place 😍 highly recommended!
Just a tip for future guests: if you plan to use a taxi app, please note that it may not work near the hotel. There is a spot nearby where scam tuk-tuk drivers wait and intimidate drivers ordered through apps. They charge unreasonably high fares, so please keep this in mind.
We booked this last minute for a night to relax and it did just that. The room was very clean and its short tuktuk to either mirissa or weligama
More like an Airbnb villa than a boutique hotel that some reviews suggest and the staff can't speak english nor are they very forthcoming (with rules / what to do / towels for the pool etc) which is fine but don’t expect much service. The pool and loungers face the road, which is a bit off-putting and although the location is peaceful and between Mirissa and Weligama you’ll either need to walk along the beach or get a tuk-tuk to go anywhere for dinner etc.
It is a beautifull building with only 4 bedrooms. The beds are good and the bathroom well equipped and everything worked well. The personel all seem very nice, swimmingpool was clean. The breakfast tasted very good; everything home made. Location is good: Between Mirissa and Weligama, both 10 min. by tuktuk. Tuktuks always available on the corner.
Although the personnel all seem very nice, one cannot communicate with them. So no touristic tips nor can they answer questions. But it was not a real problem. And wifi was not working properly in the rooms; In the lobby area it was better. During the night there was not much traffic on the first train passed by around 6.30 am. For a light sleeper this might be a bit disturbing, because one could hear the traffic a little bit.
Meticulous service. Great design blending with the environment. Nice common areas. Fantastic breakfast.
Boutique hotel so naturally less facilities/offerings.
The room and location were beautiful, the staff were sweet too
Breakfast took a while despite saying I needed it promptly at 8am the day before, at 8:50, 10 mins before I had to leave it arrived and I had to rush to eat it which was a shame as it was a lovely spread.
Wspaniała obsługa i najlepsze śniadanie na Sri Lance. Obiekt bardzo ładny, położony niedaleko plaży. Dla nas doskonałe miejsce wypadowe, żeby zwiedzić pobliskie plaże. Spędziliśmy tu dwie noce.
We were truly enchanted by our stay here. The service—especially from all the wonderful ladies—was exemplary and beyond praise. Every lady on the team greeted us with a smile and was always ready to help; they are the guardian angels of this magical place. The breakfasts were exquisite, delighting us with new flavors every single day. We fell in love with the design—a perfect blend of modern minimalism infused with the unique vibe of Sri Lanka. We will miss this place dearly; in fact, we already do. We look forward to returning with great joy. See you soon! Dziękujemy ❤️
Nothing
Absolute Empfehlung!
This place is and island of calm and luxe in the middle of the tourist and noise ocean of Weligama. You step inside and you really feel lucky and living an unique experience. From the room perfectly clean and prepared, to the food with small choices but excellently cooked, the interior design which is choose with precision, everything is leading you on the path of perfection. And the service... handled by a group of professional ladies who knows what the difference is between invasive helpfulness and real luxury dedication to the client. They are discret but accurate, remember your preferences, always anticipate your actions and needs, for short : excellency. The villa only got 4 rooms, which make it quiet and really exclusive.
Beautiful house with a patio and pool in front of the river. Quiet place but a few min walk from the beach.
The staff was very friendly but did not clean the rooms at all- though we stayed a days.
Villa de charme
Gorgeous boutique hotel, very clean & stylish. Large spacious rooms. Fabulous all female team who were so helpful & fun. It was very friendly, more like staying in someone’s beautiful home. Amazing food, tasty Sri Lankan dishes, fresh fruit & juices. Lovely small pool & great views over the river to hear & watch birds.
It was 100% perfect in every way.
Beautiful villa that felt like we were alone in it. The most amazing staff who looked after our every need and made us the most amazing breakfasts. Rooms were nice size, AC worked really well and the beds were super comfy. The staff helped us with scooter rentals and welcomed us with big smiles whenever we came “home”. I would definitely stay here again!
Breakfast didn’t include coffee, we had to pay for that separately.
Nice Interior, Friendly host, Good location, nice terrace. Great value for money.
The Beds were to hard for us.
Large space, nicely equiped, modern bathroom, well maintained and absolutely clean, pleasant staff, delicious breakfast, great view to river, beach in 5min walking distance
Mosquitoes during evening time, staff is helpfull, but can hardly communicate in English
The spaces and well designed with a nice blend of Sri Lankan style and contemporary design. It’s a nice and quiet small boutique hotel, situated away from the hustle and bustle. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Nothing.
The interior was super! The staff are 4 ladies and they are super welcoming, although they don’t speak English. A bit hidden to find, but then location is ok.
A bit tough to communicate on-site
I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in such an elegant place. The hosts were so helpful. The breakfast is heavenly!
This place is absolutely amazing! Spotless clean! The linens and towels are of excellent quality. All of the staff members are women who are friendly and willing to help.
It’s a nice villa with a chilled vibe. Cozy pool, nice interior and good facilities. Udeshika and her staff were really helpful and attentive. Food was delicious. will visit again for sure.
Nothing much complain. Some people might find the noice from the main road bit annoying.
The property was clean and well maintained. It is wonderful for a small group. The staff are the highlight. The swimming pool was the best feature, cleaned every morning.
There were not many food options. The food was tasty but the options were very few.
Beautiful place, very relaxing and near the beach. The food is delicious! And the staff very helpful and kind.
Truly magnificent hotel The staff is stellar, the food delicious, the property beautiful It's a no brainer
Nothing to dislike truly
The villa was gorgeous and the staff were very sweet. Good location in between Weligama and Mirissa, although need to get a tuk tuk to go around. The bed was very comfortable.
The rooms don’t get cleaned during your stay which I was very surprised about. Fresh drinking water is in your room for arrival then doesn’t get replenished. The road outside the villa is very loud, which although not their fault you definitely need ear plugs. The staff don’t speak English so any communication needs to be done via WhatsApp to the manager. They also start cleaning and making food very early which can also be really loud. Description says there is a restaurant, however there is a small menu which you have to order from hours in advance. No option to change time of dinner and you also have to pre arrange the time you want breakfast which can be annoying if you get up earlier or want to go back to sleep etc.
A stunning villa. Clean and calm environment. Good food. Amazing staff. Minimalist and peaceful to the eye.
A suggestion to keep some non-perishable snacks at the kitchen. We were so hungry and wanted a quick snack and was too tired to head out - but the staff needed 4 hours notice to prep anything… If you are a light sleeper the noise of vehicles from the bridge across might disturb you. I was too tired and slept like a log but my sister woke up several times for the noises.
-breakfast was good
It’s must be 5 star resort hotel , which we choose for last 3 nights of staying in Weligama! It was the worst experience in Sri Lanka - manager never been in the hotel , I have to call her and she never fixed any issues of our staying She wasn’t even trying to help - huge cockroach in the room - no WiFi in the room , have to to lobby where a lot of mosquitoes - they wrote I can order lunch and dinner for extra money , to get that I have inform the hotel 3 hours before , so we have to take taxi and get food from outside - room facing the bridge and road , in the morning is very loud and you can’t really sleep -Sink in the bathroom was always licking once you open the water - we paid for 5 stars resort and we got 2 star hotel
Room very comfortable; entire place is chic and peaceful; staff treat you very well also
Staff don’t speak enough English
There was this one staff, didn’t get her name but I think everyone is aware of her attitude so you know who I am talking about. She was so unwelcoming and rude. Constantly giving dirty looks. Wouldn’t really come back or recommend. I wouldn’t come back.
I liked that it was small and very personal. Staff were super friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was superb!
We ate the best breakfast and dinner in Sri Lanka here! Ask the team when you arrive to prepare dinner for you, you will not be disappointed! The hotel is very aesthetically pleasing and calm.
The property manager is not on site which is surprising, the team in the hotel speaks limited English. They will call the property manager if there are questions or concerns. Also the bed was on the firm side for us.
A secluded, beautiful property that comes with beautiful sunrise, passionate staff and a perfect lap pool. Love it.
It’s on the far end of Weligama and a hill away from Merissa, so travelling by tuk tuk to either is necessary.
Great location in Weligama (very close to the shore), super good breakfast and good service (very friendly & helpful staff) while the villa is right by the river and is nicely furnished.
Not much to say. I would love returning to Weligama and staying at the Sitara Weligama.
The house , the view ,and the girls' smiling are all so beautiful! The house itself is a work of art.I actually like the furnitures in the rooms.the bed is so cozy and comfortable that we all had the best sleep in Srilanka.the breakfast is Amazing too!
nothing
Beautiful room Very comfortable Very attentive staff Breakfast
No fridge in the room and no cold water to drink
The Villa was beautiful! Fantastic design inside with a pool right outside our room and views across the river. The staff are so friendly and smiling and always available to help if you need. we opted for the chef to cook for the four of us one evening and the food she cooked was so delicious- the best we’ve had on our trip! They ask what sort of food you like and will adapt it to your needs. We had a vegetarian feast of curries and rice, with fruit and curd for desert. We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend it.
It is a small 4 room property so the attention you get from the team is exceptional! The facilities are top notch for a facility like this. We loved the room. The swimming pool was right outside. The staff was incredibly hospitable. The breakfast was really good! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to experience a quiet stay (apart from the bridge that is right in front of the hotel back side) and if you are in that part of the country for whale watching; this is a highly recommended property to stay at!
Although nothing can be done but the bridge right outside the room is an eye sore and gets noisy during the afternoon.
fantastic staff that they can know what you want! Nice rooms. Good breakfast.
Excellent meals, breakfast and dinner. The room is very nice and the staff are excellent, always ready to help.
The villa is beautiful, very nice architecture. The ladies working in Sitara are in every detail since the moment you arrive. The breakfast is awesome. The place is very close to the quiet side of Weligama beach, which is very good for families and to learn surfing.
Kind and friendly staff, delicious food, spacious and clean.
Nothing
Loved everything about this villa! The property itself, the staff, beautiful interiors, close to nature. Amazing amenities, cleanness. Also - great food! Super close to the beach that feels like a secret beach almost. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Will highly recommend.
Our stay was just amazing, the service , the location and the food was great. Well done ladies!! For sure I will come back
The villa is literally 5 minutes walk from the beach and the staff were very friendly. The villa was very clean and the food was to die for.
