Reviewed Feb 9, 2026Everything. Its very high standard of accommodations. Two bedrooms, comfortable bed, huge bathroom and looks newly renovated. It was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge and looking at the horse and sheep while reading a book. We met the host and she was very nice and helpful. I highly recommend. P.s. we also loved the cat that came to visit us, he was lovely.
The only thing, and it's not a big deal, is that there is no hot stove at the place so we couldn't cook hot breakfast. However, there are microwave, toaster, kettle and a fridge so I think it's okay.

Reviewed Jan 12, 2026The cottage was just as described. Lovely rural setting. Very clean and comfortable. Lots of nice touches. Great for a couple. Nice outdoor spaces to sit and relax. Lovely to cool off in the pool on a hot day. Would recommend.
Shower is over a large corner spa bath, just need to take care getting in/out. Hand rail and non slip mat provided.

Reviewed Jan 4, 2026Beautifully appointed, period decor was enchanting and it was spotlessly clean. The animal life was an extra bonus for us. Quiet and restorative location. We stayed in the west wing of the house which was very spacious.
We thought the unit would have cooking facilities of some sort. There is a microwave.

Great parking, lovely private patios and garden environment.. safety through proximity to main house, but respectful privacy and superb refuge on a holiday weekend. Thank you.

Reviewed Dec 19, 2025Catherine our host met us on arrival which was lovely and she introduced us to our neighbours Moo and Moo. Just fabulous!!! The unit was a home away from home. It had everything we needed! Bed was super comfy, shower was incredible and reverse AC a delight on warmer nights.
We didn’t like leaving!!

We only found out we couldn't use the electric fire place which is pictured in the advertisement once we arrived at the property, a bit disappointing but heat pump worked well to heat the house so no harm. Cockroaches were an issue but big spray provided, thank you.

Reviewed May 2, 2025It is convenient for the Carterton and Greytown area. Stayed this area because of the Wairarapa Hot Air Balloon festival. Free on-site parking. Host was great and very nice to help turn the heat on as we arrived only at night Homely vibes, authentic farm.
It is likely cause we come from the city and used to staying in high floor apartments, we didn't quite like the bugs and insects during the somewhat rainy season. Besides, the space is very dark at night so any lights will attract moths. Perhaps insects net will help, but not necessary if you are going for the farm like accommodation experience haha.

The hosts were super friendly and gave us our space but was always available if we needed them. The cottage was the perfect size for us and what we needed. The place was easy to find. The weather was beautiful. The location was great. Everything we needed nearby. Couldn't ask for more.
We do wish we were able to use the spa bath but understand why we couldn't. We didn't know what we needed to do when it came to leaving ie. Rubbish laundry and keys. But that's really not an issue at all.we just tried to make sure we left the cottage in the best state we could for the hosts.

A big draw for us booking the place was the spa bath photographed and unfortunately the information book in the accommodation stated the spa is not for use because plummers have said drains can't handle it. I think it would be good to remove this photo and mention this is not included in the advertisement.
