Aos Sí Lodges

Die Lage war einzigartig. Aber man muss bedenken, dass von Juli-September die Midges sehr aktiv sind. Es gibt kein Moskitosnetz (mitten im Wald und viel Wasser) somit muss man die ganze Nacht die Fenster geschlossen halten. Was für extrem schlechte Luft sorgt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich!

Es waren noch Haare der Vormieter in den Badschubläden, Geschirr in der Spülmaschine, Essensreste im Gefrierfach. Es war zu wenig Geschirr vorrätig, so dass man ständig die Spülmaschine laufen lassen muss. Die gesamte Anlage ist nicht wirklich gepflegt gewesen. Man läuft u.a. auch an den Abfalleimern vorbei auf den Weg zum Auto. Und man hat kein WLan in den Lodges. Falls einem das wichtig ist.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Aos Sí Lodges in Ballachulish. The cabins are peaceful, cozy, beautifully situated, and the perfect place to truly slow down and recharge. I spent three wonderfully quiet days here between adventures, and it felt like my own little Highland hideaway. The location is ideal for exploring Glencoe and the surrounding area, yet it still feels tucked away and serene. Everything was comfortable, relaxing, and exactly what I needed before starting the West Highland Way. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.Many thoughtful touches …

The lodge was absolutely lovely. Really comfortable and clean and beautifully presented. It has everything we needed including really hot water which was much appreciated after a day hiking in the rain. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The location was excellent, close to amenities and a pub where we had a wonderful meal.

Absolutely stunning design, the bathroom with jacuzzi was excellent. Ed the owner was there to welcome us and was so welcoming. The babbling brook provided us with natural white noise while we stayed. Good value for the style and for this area. Loved it!

The stairs to the mezzanine are not for the faint hearted! We didn't quite realise that they were more of a clever ladder design than stairs. Fine for us but definitely not the accessible option.

Is een unieke slaapplaats, zeer proper en vriendelijke mensen.

Sehr sauber. Klein, aber gemütlich (vor allem der elektrische Kamin). Ruhige Lage trotz Straßennähe, idyllisch im Wald gelegen.

Zu wenig Ablagefläche und Kleiderhaken. Die Türen waren sehr niedrig und wir haben uns mehrmals den Kopf angestoßen (Türhöhe ca. 160 cm). Durch die Dachschrägen könnt man teilweise nicht aufrechtstehen, geschweige denn die Kaffeemaschine befüllen. Die Fenster waren auf Taillenhöhe. Alles eher für Hobbits ausgerichtet als für Menschen.

Loved the sound of the waterfall and the accommodation was lovely.

Breakfast was very good. However, we had ordered a normal basket and a glutenfree basket. The glutenfree basket was brilliant, the normal one in comparison quite empty. There was glutenfree bread, glutenfree crumpets and biscuits but no normal ones. There was also only one wee yoghurt in the glutenfree basket, not yoghurt at all in the normal one. So brilliant value for money regarding the glutenfree basket, not so good value for money for the normal one.

Die Lage ist super und wir haben uns gleich bei Ankunft wohl gefühlt. Der Whirlpool war ein absolutes Highlight und es war super, dass hochwertiger Badeschaum zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Das Personal ist sehr nett und aufmerksam und hat sich mehrmals nach unserem Wohl erkundigt. Super, dass eine Decke für den Hund und Napf bereit standen.

Die Treppe ist ein Abenteuer, für unseren Hund war diese leider nicht machbar, da der Hund keinen Halt hatte und sie sehr steil ist. Wir hätten uns außerdem ein Gitter oben an der steilen Treppe gewünscht. Ein Toaster / Mikrowelle wäre super gewesen. Ein Haken um Jacken aufzuhängen und eine Ablage für nasse Wanderschuhe wäre toll.

La casetta è molto bella e si trova in mezzo alla natura, questo le dona un carattere rilassante. Gli interni in legno danno un tocco rustico molto apprezzato. I prodotti messi a disposizione sono tutti ecosostenibili e in contenitori di vetro. La vasca fa parte dell'arredo ma contribuisce ad arricchire l'esperienza.

Rispetto al prezzo pagato mi aspettavo di più. Soprattutto in termini di dettagli e pulizia. La torcia era scarica, sotto il tappeto c'era qualcosa di incrostato, ma anche sopra non era molto pulito. Le poltrone presentavano degli aloni e il rotolo adesivo aveva il primo foglio già sporco. Infine anche il piatto su cui erano poggiati bottiglia e bicchieri era sporco. Non è presente un lavandino per lavare ciò che si utilizza, è un po' scomodo l'utilizzo del catino.

It was a lovely quirky 'Hobbit' style Lodge situated in woodland. Very comfortable bed and with a small veranda. Very well situated for Glen Coe but car needed. Memorable place!

No actual sink to wash pots in other than small bathroom sink, bath or bowl (was manageable though). Loved everything else.

Aos Sí Lodges is a very distinctive and charming place, completely surrounded by greenery and the peaceful atmosphere of the Highlands. The wooden lodges are cosy, well equipped and blend beautifully into the natural surroundings. We also really enjoyed the small private outdoor area. One of the highlights is definitely the breakfast: very generous, varied and delicious, and delivered directly to the lodge in lovely baskets. A very convenient and enjoyable touch. Overall, it was an original and relaxing stay.

The only downside for us was the absence of a shower. Due to the layout and design of the lodge, there is only a bathtub, which is located directly in the bedroom.

We had a great stay. The facilities were perfect and the staff so friendly and helpful. Everybody is dogfriendly and we made a great walk in the area. We highly recommend the place.

De trap naar de slaapverdieping is niet voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn.

We really enjoyed our stay at Aos Sí Lodges. Our only complaint was that our stay was far too brief, just one night! Pros: The BEST bathtub of our entire 10-day visit to Scotland! The beds were very comfortable, and the room was spacious and spotless. The breakfast hamper was amazing and incredibly convenient, and the hosts were so gracious in working with us on the delivery time. There were many thoughtful, personal touches throughout the lodge that made it clear the hosts genuinely wanted to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Cons: There really were none. If forced to come up with one, I would say that the walk from the parking area to the lodge was a little challenging with a heavy suitcase, but that was entirely on us for packing too much! We would happily stay at Aos Sí Lodges again and only wish we had been able to stay longer.

Ça ne me semble pas à la hauteur de ce que l'on peut attendre d'un hébergement de ce standing (et prix). Nous n'avons pas testé le petit-déjeuner qui nous semblait très cher pour un panier repas.

This well-equipped cottage is nestled amongst the trees beside a small stream; despite its proximity to the road, you can relax here and listen to the soothing sound of the water, whether you’re sitting in whirlpool or lying in bed at night. The landlords are very friendly and helpful.

It’s not good value for money. Given what the accommodation offers, it’s too expensive. This includes the steep staircase – almost like a ladder – leading up to the sleeping area.

Great secluded location with stunning views just a stones throw away. Place was clean, staff were friendly and the bed one of the comfiest I've slept in. Ideal.

The stairs are quirky, although you do need to be careful on them. We also had a lovely little Robin visit us both nights - he/she was very tame and sat on our feet staring at our crisps expectantly!

Unfortunately this didn’t meet expectations for us overall. The decor is very much in need of a refresh. The sofa smelt ‘funky’, the bathtub had mould in the corner, and the shower flooded the bathroom. The 15 minute walk to the nearest shop/restaurant was more like 25 mins and along a busy national speed limit road. Love the concept and I’m sure it would have made a bigger impression when fresher, but overall was a disappointing end to our holiday. As someone else has stated the lack of blind in the bathroom was concerning. The first thing I did when we arrived was go out the back to find the waterfall I could hear, and turned around to see my partner in the bathroom. I spent the entire stay worrying that our neighbours would also want to look for the waterfall too! Some one way privacy film or a blind would have been great. There is also no mirror to use when drying your hair and no iron or ironing board, and only two coat hangers - these felt like basic things to be missing to be honest.

Bath leaked all over the floor, as the waste pipe had become detached causing a flood in the bedroom. It was fixed promptly but we were left clearing up soaking towels/robes etc at 11.30 at night on our return from dinner! Looks like it’s happened before, some water marks on the wood work .

Cutest lodge ever in the middle of the forest. Staff were super welcoming and self check in is really easy. Bed was super comfy with lots of amenities in the lodge.

Un lodge perdu dans la forêt qui ressemble à un chalet à l’intérieur avec énormément de confort: lit king size très confortable, baignoire vintage, tout le nécessaire pour se préparer du thé ou café ou pour se réchauffer un plat au micro-ondes… Une halte bien agréable proche du Glencoe Loch.

The location and the concept.

Surprisingly basic furniture some of it wobbly. The blind next to the bath would not close. The lack of internet is a major issue. The price is far too high for what it is.

This was one of the most disappointing accommodation experiences I have had. I specifically booked a forest cabin expecting privacy, tranquility, and the feeling of being immersed in nature. Instead, my cabin was located right next to the reception building, which completely ruined the sense of seclusion and independence that is the main attraction of staying in a cabin. The check-in process was poorly managed. I did not receive the cabin name, access instructions, or key code until very late. As a traveler moving between destinations, I cannot be expected to constantly monitor my email. Essential arrival information should be provided well in advance, not at the last minute. Unfortunately, when I sought assistance, the receptionist showed very little hospitality or willingness to help. Rather than making the process smooth and welcoming, I had to return several times just to understand how to access my cabin. This created unnecessary stress after a long journey. The most serious issue, however, was safety. The cabin design appears to prioritize aesthetics over practicality and guest safety. The bedroom is upstairs while the bathroom is downstairs, connected by an extremely steep staircase that is almost ladder-like. There were inadequate handrails and very little support for safely going up and down. As a man in my forties, needing to use the bathroom during the night is not unusual. Each trip felt genuinely unsafe. I often had to hold onto the wall to avoid slipping and use both hands to climb the stairs. A fall on those stairs could easily result in a serious injury, especially during the night or for older guests. I can tolerate minor inconveniences, but poor communication, unprofessional guest service, lack of privacy, and serious safety concerns are not acceptable. The property may look attractive in photos, but my actual experience fell far below expectations.

Très bon emplacement, sur notre trajet, au calme avec la montagne et le lac devant, la forêt derrière et la cascade à côté. Très bien équipé, vaisselle, électroménager, et une très belle baignoire ! Literie très confortable.

Bellissima struttura immersa nella struttura. Ti permettere di immergerti in un'atmosfera romantica e fiabesca. Personale molto gentile. La camera era dotata di bollitore e frigorifero oltre che di un kit di benvenuto per la colazione (tè, latte e biscottini). Le immagini sono fedeli alla realtà.

Mancava il phon per asciugare i capelli. Noi abbiamo deciso di spegnere il riscaldamento per non tenerlo acceso tutta la notte ma questo ci ha fatto svegliare con un pò di freddo e molta umidità essendo immersi nella natura e avendo piovuto la notte.

Bad was een beetje oncomfortabel om in te douchen: kraan zat los + veel water op de vloer na het douchen.

Absolutely beautiful little lodges situated in the middle of a forest. The little stream running out behind the places added a lovely atmosphere. I didn't have much chance to explore the main building, but it also looked cute.

Having the only bathtub be in the main room made it a little awkward for me and my sister to share the room. Also, I wish there were screens on the windows so I could leave the windows open at night to enjoy the babbling of the stream and forest sounds without the bugs getting in.

Nice spacious hut, comfy bed and quiet surrounding. Also appreciated the breakfast hamper with delicious food.

The location is stunning and the pods are beautiful. It’s quiet and serene. Highly recommend opting in for the breakfast. It’s delivered to your door in a basket with the most incredible fresh pastries. As well as juice, cereal, fruit, and more. It was a beautiful way to start the day, eating in front of the little windows. The hosts and the people who work there were incredible. The kindest people, always accessible, and indulged my late request for breakfast (which I’m so thankful for!). This was our favourite accommodation of our 2 week long Scotland adventure and only wish we spent more time in Glencoe to explore more - Next time. We will absolutely stay here again! Thank you!

Best bathtub I have ever used and the view from the bathroom window was beautiful especially at night you could see lots of stars! Wow! So relaxing. We loved the little stream behind the property. Loved the shower too! Felt like I had a thermal spa break! LOVE LOVE LOVE

The bed was rock solid and gave me neck & shoulder pain when I woke up :( will definitely be back to stay but hopefully there will be different mattresses next time. The pull out wooden staircase was a bit too vertical for me and felt more like ladders but these things didn’t ruin my stay.

The bathtub is a great idea, but it's too cold to use for a morning bath. I recommend a separate bathroom with a bathtub in the main house for everyone's use.

We, as a family of six, spent a night from the 10th to the 11th of May at Aos Si Lodges, and what an absolutely brilliant place this is. The lodges overlook the stunning Loch Leven and offer a peaceful, scenic setting that immediately makes you feel relaxed. The cottages are warm, cozy, and beautifully designed, each named after the trees growing right behind them, which adds a lovely personal touch. Each cottage is extremely well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a coffee maker, microwave, kettle, basic utensils, cutlery, and plates. One particularly charming feature was the bathtub positioned within one side of the room, which added greatly to the overall ambience of the cottage. The mattresses and bedding were also exceptionally comfortable. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Stephen, the caretaker and manager, who very kindly showed us around the property and helped us settle in. There is also a dedicated room for children with board games and activities, although unfortunately, since we stayed only for a day, we did not have enough time to explore it fully. The location is also very convenient. It is about a five-minute drive from the local cooperative supermarket, making it easy to pick up essentials. Additionally, scenic attractions and viewpoints in the surrounding area are within a comfortable driving distance, making this an excellent base to explore the region. Our only regret was that we did not stay longer. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will most definitely look forward to visiting again in the future.

Pas très pratique, aucun rangement pour les vêtements. Pas même un porte manteau. Pas de service. Check in et check out autonomes (mais confortables grâce à un mail très précis). La « chambre » n’est pas faite d’une nuit sur l’autre. Prix élevé compte tenu de ce qui précède.

Overall was a beautiful Lodge and perfect location, and the staff was very friendly.

Probably improvement in general cleaning like the floor of the bathroom, fixing some of the curtains system as well as the sofas had the marks of someone sitting after probably having a bath so there was a stain of someone’s bottom. Was a bit cold in the night no instructions for the heating but we managed after asking on google how to turn the electric heating, the automatic heating from the radiator didn’t work for us, luckily wasn’t too cold so we were fine. A side of that is very cozy, feels like if you are in a fairy tale, so this is more like a constructive feedback as it has got a lot of potential and we know they have in mind more projects, and will be great to go back if before opening more stuff they take care first of those little things. A bit pricey for what you get, but I believe is because of the demand of the area. Staff was very friendly, wish them all the best!

The staff and location are both very nice

The bathroom is impossible, the doorway is like 150cm, we could not stand tall and there is only a handmirror in the bahtroom. For example, I had to shave my beard while sitting on my knees. The bath in the room looks cool, but is is impossible to shower in it without making a (wet) mess of the whole room. I do love the idea, but it is nog practical at all.

We had a fabulous stay. The staff were warm and very helpful. The views and location are stunning. The owner had so many little thoughtful additions in our ‘hut’ : heated bathroom floors, a sumptuous bath with bubbles to add, fresh press coffee…The breakfast basket was also beautifully curated . Our stay was very memorable and we would love to return.

One thing to consider when planning a trip to Glenco is that it is very spread out. A car is helpful. We were traveling by bus and had to rely heavily on the good graces of a local driver.

The location is convenient and not hard to find. It’s a short drive into Glencoe or Ballachulish. The staff is friendly and attentive. The place has two types of lodging: the main house (AKA St. John’s old rectory) , which has 3-4 rooms, and lodges, which we were told were more rustic and were up the driveway a bit. Our room in the rectory house was clean, as was the bathroom. It was quiet. The breakfast was continental style and also good. We needed to unplug a lamp in order to charge our phones, which made the room a little too dark. All in all a great stop on the way to Skye.
