Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa Chalets

It was very quiet and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The chefs and David were very friendly and exceptionally gearing. Thank you for a great stay

Nothing only the dust…

It was clean, well equipped, secluded and very comfortable

Having to manually switch on the geyser. This wasn’t shared with us. We arrived late and getting to the chalets was a hustle. No one offered to escort us there. We got lost so many times in the bushes and that alone was terrifying.

Animals came arround every day, wasn't even necessary to go on a game drive

I didn't like that you advertise wifi in the chalets if there weren't any. Didn't like that you advertise Aircons yet you need to purchase extra credits to operate it. Didn't like that the fire places where dirty from previous guests. Ashes blew all over the place.

The roads on the nature reserve need attention

The serenity and tranquility together with the animals walking among the chalets. The amazing mountain bike trails. The location.

The game viewing trailer was not in a good condition, looked like it needed urgent maintenance. The door to Karee 113's one bathroom could not close, due to the lock that was broken. Please fix.

Staff at Sondela all great and friendly, units are spacious and everything we need for a perfect break away. The amount of animals we saw was also really great to experience. We will definitely visit Sondela again in the mere future.

Activities that close too early and could add view more things to do for young kids, especially on a Friday afternoon when you check-in, Most of the activities where already close when we arrived,

The animals around the reserve

There was no coffee ☕😞 in the chalet and the bed was not comfortable and made sounds, we had to put our mattress on the floor.

No TV remote and you need to upgrade the tennis court and table tennis table.

Extremely lean, tidy and comfortable

There is so much for the kids to to do, they literally played themselves to sleep! The wildlife is beautiful and it was so relaxing to be in the bush.

The location was very nice and scenic. The Chalet was very nice. I enjoyed the Bushbaby tour and interaction. The shop was well stocked. The equipment in kitchen was good quality.

The couches are very hard, sorry but they can use some padding. I remember in the past a bag of wood and ice was given and a tractor game drive. Not sure if it was just for campers. Perhaps the beds can be pushed together for couples on request. The toilet flush top was very difficult to push and we had to lift the top lid to stop water from flowing. The cleaner came in too early on Sunday or perhaps she could've come earlier before we had to make breakfast.

The unit was smaller that we expected and it was subdivided with another family which wasn’t great as they were extremely noisy. There was no mention of sharing the unit in this way. Also there is no wifi at the unit. The inside of the units need a bit of a facelift to give it a fresh look.

The chalets were very good & clean.Saw lots of animals around the chalet.

We had a meal at the restaurant.I had chicken with garden salad.I had 4 small pieces of chicken.The rest of the salad was mainly lettuce I did complain & was told they would make it up toe with the next meal I ordered.So the last day we were there,the restaurant was closed for a private function,so nothing was done.very disappointing

We enjoyed our stay at Sondela, amazing activities and facilities.

If all costs could be included on quotation amount reflecting on all bookings websites, we end up paying additional costs that was not budgeted for

The chalet was private, well stocked with utensils, glasses plates etc relaxing and great way to spend family time and celebrate a special someones birthday. Shop well stocked, welcome pancakes delicious.

Could only use the aircon by purchasing a token. The lounge fan didn't work. Called for maintenance the day we arrived to repair. They never came even though the reception lady said they would send someone immediately.

The 6 sleeper chalet had a very small living area and kitchen. Not enough furniture to accommodate 6 people

Reception did not inform me to keep the green slip and to come back to reception to check out if my friend did not phone after she hand in the keys I would have just left. Having said that once in the room I chuck it away.

Great place to relax. The kids enjoyed the nature experience. We loved everything there as well as playing games. We will definitely come back for MTB race and Trail runs.

I like the animals

I was never advised not to used a drop off transport as most facilities were far from where we were staying. A transport was really needed in that regard. We were supposed to be transported to reach other places.

It is located close to the facilities but still gives quiet and tranquility.

The animals all over. Everything was thoughtful of the guests 's leisure. From the cutlery tovthe crockery. The Lapa just in front of the kitchen with a movable braai stand and a welcome Christmas message. The wine daily wine bottle was a cherry on top

There were frogs, and l'm afraid of frogs. I was lucky my husband was there to assist The Lapa is not properly kept.

The unit is in a perfect location with lots of animals walking around. The lovely birds that greet during the day.

The time you can book in and the time you book out, 3PM is late and affordable accomodation becomes expensive. Paid for a full day however was Only 9 hours st the bungalow.

Sondela is a beautiful nature reserve. We always enjoy our stay. Love how peaceful it is in some spaces. The chalet was very clean.

The toilet in the main recreational area was very untidy. There was toilet paper on the floor and it was very wet. We asked for clean towels and did not receive them. Someone should be watching the unnecessary diving in the heated pool, one cannot enjoy it with all the kids diving and splashing.

We loved to be so close to nature, but safe and comfortable.

The outside Boma chairs needed some maintenance.

The entertainment was super.

Restaurant service was very poor. We waited for our order more than an hour.

The chalets are very comfortable & clean. There is a variety of wildlife in close proximity to the chalets. There is a lot of activities for both kids & adults to participate in daily. Never a dull moment!

Prepaid electricity to make use of the aircons is an additional cost. Take note of this.
