Sehr schöne und saubere Unterkunft. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Everything was lovely! The hostel is gorgeous and instantly makes you feel at home. Manuela, the owner, was also incredibly kind and welcoming throughout our stay. If we ever come back to Appenzell, we already know where we’ll be staying! ☺️

bei den letzten Aufenthalten, wurden wir jeweils mit einem leckeren "Biberli" auf dem Kissen begrüsst.........

Unkomplizierter checkin und -out. Moderne Einrichtung.

Das Klima in unserem Schlafsaal war zu warm.

Tolle zentrale Lage, Ausstattung und Sauberkeit top. Gerne wieder, für einen Ausflug nach Appenzell.

Because of some coordinating problem, we got our hostel room upgrade to Boutique Pension. It was nice, elegant and clean. The common place was tidy, lovely and well equipped. The zimmer 3 was spacious and the atmosphere was pleasant. I enjoyed the view from the window. I really like that we can deposit the luggage before check-in and after check-out.

The soundproof was not so good as you could hear people walking around or maybe easily disturb others. The exhaust fan in the bath room was automatically on when the light was on, which was a bit annoying because it did not stop when we went to sleep.

Das Zimmer war eng berrechnet. Schöner Aufenthaltsraum und Küche, haben einen Jass geklopft. Die Fahrräder konnten wir gut im Bikeraum unterbringen.

L'emplacement est parfait et calme. L'hébergement est très propre et bien équipé. La taille est parfait pour le partage des pièces communes.

Il manque seulement un grille pain à la cuisine.

Vermieterin war vereist,Code an der Eingangstüre war falsch.Auf umwegen kam die Mutter zur Unterkunft danach klappte alles hervorragend.

Rummet var rent och tyst och sängarna bekväma.

Vi ville kunna lämna väskorna på hotellet men eftersom det var obemannad så gick det inte. Önskar att det hade varit galgar så att vi kunde hängt upp kläder. Det fanns eluttag bredvid två av sängarna men det hade varit bra om alla kunde lada telefonerna under natten. Det var svårt att förstå hur kaffemaskinen fungerade.

Sehr gut, praktisch und geniales Konzept. Grossartig eingerichtete Küche, sehr gemütliche und liebevoll eingerichtete Stube.

We booked the private room and were very happy with the size of it and that it doesn’t share a wall with the group rooms, so we didn’t get woken up by chatting or people coming and going. The kitchen was really well stocked, so we were able to make a nice dinner for ourselves. The location was great; right in the centre of town. The rooms, bathrooms, and furniture were perfectly clean. We really appreciated being able to store our luggage in the bike room prior to check in. Having complementary coffee was also great!

Location was great and the room was spacious and clean. The bathrooms are shared, but there are three to choose from, so I never was waiting to use it. The kitchen is a huge bonus with every amenity you could ever need!

Our room was at ground/basement level with a window that faced the street traffic right next to the house. This made it too loud to leave the window cracked at night. The bed only has one pillow per person, and I felt that two pillows would have been more comfortable. The bathrooms are down the hall, so if you need to use the restroom in the middle of the night, the motion detecting lights turn on and nearly blind you.

Bett war etwas weich und die Kissen etwas dünn. Steckdose in Bettnähe wäre premium.

We had a wonderful stay at Alte Metzg. This place is so clean and well kept. Our person of contact was very informative and responsive. We had everything we needed and then some!

Absolutely fantastic place! have no complaints whatsoever. The kitchen is fully stocked and amazing. High quality appliances and ample space. The dining room, living room and terrace were awesome. And we got a free upgrade from the owner to the rooms upstairs. She was so accommodating and friendly. You can really tell that the place has been treated with love and care and every detail is thought about. I would recommend this place to anyone

It looked new. It was clean, and the kitchen, toilets and showers were exceptional. I also loved the independant check in.

Nothing really, i just wish they provide bread for the breakfast. Since jam, butter, coffee was provided, why not just serve with bread. 😄.

Wow, what an awesome time. We got a message a few days before, from the Alte Metzg staff, offering a free upgrade to the Boutique Pension — so this review is for that — but that was so random and wonderful. The space we clean, cute, spacious — amazing coffee, tons of ability to cook, close to bakeries and town. Not much to do in the town, but this space was great.

Very clean, quiet and easy to access from the train . Kitchen available Toiletries and towels available Big rooms with a lot of space Staff was super quick to answer

No breakfast available; I left before the bakery next door was open so I was able to get coffee in the kitchen, which was delicious! But the staff mentioned “ jam, butter and chocolate for breakfast” not sure what am I suppose to do with butter and jam without bread haha no biggies but a little bit of a breakfast options would have been nice Also everything was in Germain ( instructions wise in the Hostel) . I’m not sure I followed all the rules correctly just because I couldn’t find anything in English . But that wouldn’t affect my stay too much. Would absolutely come back Was perfect for a night before hiking in Wassereaun

There was a complete kitchen with every appliance, tool, pot, pan, utensil and dish. Would highly recommend to anyone! This was our first place we stayed while in Switzerland which "set the bar high" for other hostels.

This was the best hostel ever!! The amenities and beds were so comfortable and the rooms were very private. It looked exactly like the pictures. The host even let us store our bags overnight because we were going on an overnight hike the day after.

Only three guest rooms in the hostel. The rooms are cleaned everyday. The smells of shampoo and body gel are really fresh. I love the warm kitchen and dinner room. Staffs are really friendly and helpful.

The whole place was so nice, Definitely recommend staying here!!

Perfect location close to town center & easy walk to train. Exceptionally clean, stylish & with a beautiful well-stocked kitchen & nice seating area. Comfy bed & nice linens.

Traditional outside, modern, tasteful and super functional inside. Allocated space in fridge and bathrooms which keeps sharing common spaces neat and simple. We loved it!

This is a great value. Very clean, comfortable and in a nice location in this amazing little town.
