One of the experienced staff helped us with cab arrangements and the hostel has easy access to the beach.

The upper bunk bed was dusty, there was loud music at night incase one needs to wake up early not ideal a place. Food was terrible and not cooked well. When spoken to the staff they said they wont be able to do anything and was ok if I cancelled my booking. So that was disappointing. Being female travellers and finding space at night and unwilling to help was disappointing.

The location was prime and the amenities were good

We have to leave our slippers outside the property and roam around in the entire property including rooftop, restaurant and dorms

My god , one of the best stays that i have been to , lowkey better than many 4 star hotels , even the staff were great , loved it .

Vibe of the place.

1. Internet speed was poor, often < 50 mbps, which affected my working. I had called the manager a few times prior to arrival to get an assurance on Wi-Fi speed. I was assured that the internet speed will be more than 100 mbps. 2. Front desk wasn’t much of help in finding bikes on rental. 3. Location is difficult to reach because there are not enough signboard on the approach road.

Vibe of the place.

1. Hard to find the location if you are riding a bike. Signboards are too small and inconspicuous.

Close to the beach, friendly staff, green and well maintained garden in front of the double rooms & cottages. Generally clean rooms/bathrooms.

The place is a little worn-down. The digital-only check-in was a nuisance, took ages and didn’t really work well. I tried to change the dates of my booking in advance but all messages were ignored. AC in the room only just worked when you turned it down to the max.

The location was the only good thing.The food at the cafe is very average and too pricy.Got burned dosas upon ordering.The staff was just there at the reception, not bothered about anything.

the dorm was too congested, the whole building was too old.The layout of the room was too congested.The washroom was not upto the mark, very old facilities.

Zostel Varkala is located very close to the beach so location is quite good. Amenities can be improved. Furniture was not up to the mark.

The comforter was a bit old and dirty.

The rooftop cafe is the best part, and also its sea viewing balcony.

The second floor is not open after 11 pm, which is quite limiting for the guests.

We stayed in the cottage. It was a lovely property with beautiful views. The beach and cliff was at a walking distance. The staff was friendly and helped us plan our itinerary.

The dorm and the location were perfect, I cannot say much about the staff and other services because I didn't use it. Overall would recommend this place.

View is not great and staff is also not welcoming.

No extra washroom on dorm rooms & wifi & other facilities are also poor

Nothing is pleasant about this property. Nit worth the money. Total waste of money, time and vibe.

Bathrooms are very smelly, no clealiness, bedsheets not cleaned, old Ac with dust accumulated and we are inhaling dust. Staff not cooperative, no support for keeping lugage.

Faded glory! Friendly staff, quiet location, comfortable bed. The property could really use some refurbishing, though.

Pricey! The A-frame cottages are way overpriced! They're not as luxurious as the pictures make them out to be (no wooden interior, all plastic, cheap curtains) and the location is not as idyllic either. Instead of being right on the beach, you're looking out onto the ugly aquarium building and the other cottages right next or in front of you.
