Really close to train station. Friendly hosts. Clean and safe place.

Heel gezellig hostel, super leuk ingericht, heerlijk ruikende lakens en perfecte locatie op loopafstand van station. De sfeer was ontspannen, ontbijt heerlijk en zeer aardig personeel! City toer met Mira was heel goed! Ze nam alle tijd en we hebben veel gelachen. Ik raad het iedereen aan!

Jammer dat ze volgeboekt waren en we maar 1 nacht konden blijven…

フロントが2階で部屋が3階なので階段移動が少し大変でした。

So much space with the loft bed and the value for money is insane. Loved the floor to ceiling window and being able to look at the city. Very clean hostel, fresh air and good shower. The call to prayer is incredibly loud here so bring earplugs if you need!

Well located, comfortable, clean with a warm vibe. They also helped arrange a driver for me to Bromo and Surabaya - Herry - who was kind and knowledgable.

Nice place, the staff is amazing. I definitely recommend. Ps : the cook Andre is an absolute boss

早餐是现做的，很好吃！ 我住了两晚，第一晚的单间非常有设计感。房间是Loft样式，一层自由活动，二层一整层都是床。 可以在旅社报名Bromo和Sewu旅游团。

第二晚住的是宿舍，没有空调只有风扇，有点热

The location couldn’t be better. We had one private room which was really stylish and clean. We felt very comfortable in this hostel as the whole hostel is clean and looks great. We did the Tumpak Sewu Tour and it was just the best❤️. I didn’t expect this much from the tour with a price of 450k per person.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Ottimo ostello a Malang, comodo per esplorare la città, raggiungibile facilmente a piedi dalla stazione. Ci hanno permesso di stare negli spazi comuni al mattino presto prima del check-in, farci una doccia, riposarci e lasciare gli zaini. Le camerate sono ben organizzate, ciascun letto è dotato di tende per privacy, prese e luci.

It gets really hot in dorms because there is not ac and only a fan on the ground (so no air in top bunks). There was mold on the showers heads.

Not as social as expected

Das Hostel war einfach nur top! Unser Zimmer war sauber, das Personal herzlich, das Essen super lecker und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis im großen und Ganzen unschlagbar! Die Tour vom Hostel nach Mt.Bromo war ebenfalls gut durchorganisiert und sehr zu empfehlen.

Très bonne expérience dans cet hostel, le logement est propre et bien équipé, la décoration est très sympa et le personnel très gentil. L’hôtel est idéalement situé, il y a beaucoup de restaurants très bien noté autour et une salle de sport vraiment pas cher. Le petit déjeuner est top !

Un peu de bruits dans les dortoirs mais plutôt de la responsabilité des autres touristes que de l’établissement

L’établissement est très bien situé et les chambres individuelles sont confortables. Très bon petit-déjeuner. Très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Opter pour la chambre individuelle avec climatisation car celle avec ventilateur, le bruit et la chaleur dans la pièce sont difficilement supportables. Espace étriqué pour prendre les repas, manque une cuisine commune à disposition.

Nous avons aimé le rapport qualité prix, avec une propreté irréprochable de notre chambre (individuelle et non en dortoir) et des endroits communs (réservé aux 3 chambres du haut). Le personnel était très gentil ! L’emplacement permet d’avoir accès à des restaurants, le centre ville et les quartiers comme Kampung à pied :)

Nous y sommes restés très peu de temps (uniquement une soirée). Néanmoins, nous avons particulièrement apprécié notre chambre, disposant d'un lit mezzanine avec des draps qualitatifs. La salle de bain et toilettes partagés étaient propres et suffisamment spacieux. Très bon rapport qualité/prix. A cela s'ajoute le trip 1j vers les cascades Tempak Tewu et Kapas Biru. Le chauffeur était très bien et sympathique. Le guide également. N'hésitez pas à passer par eux pour ce trip.

Er was een heel vriendelijk ontvangst. Om hier te ontbijten, lunchen en dineren kon je kiezen uit een kleine menukaart. We lieten ook onze kleren wassen, en dit was helemaal in orde.

The private room was so comfy and special, in spite of the high steps and ladder, not so easy for that 77 year old. All very solid and aesthetic and clean. Great WiFi and Aircon. They offered yummy freshly cooked food.

The stairs....but it's not important.

Het hostel zit op een toplocatie in het centrum. Het personeel is allemaal super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Vanuit het hostel kregen we een city-tour waarbij we een op maat gemaakte rondleiding kregen langs de bijzondere plekken van Malang. Ook het ontbijt was heerlijk en werd vers bereid.

Really nice hostel in the heart of Malang. We liked the private beds with curtains and that there are even double beds in the dorms. Everything was tidy and the staff was really friendly. They also have a nice cafe.

The room was pretty hot as there was no air con.

La proximité de la gare (9 min à pieds), l’accueil et la gentillesse du personnel, le restaurant simple mais plat très bons, chambres et douches communes propres, très bien décorée.

La literie +++ (matelas mousses, mous) Attention aux gens à mobilité réduite, établissement sur 3/4 étages sans ascenseur assez raides.

La calidez de los trabajadores, son increíbles, cercanos y atentos. La comida muy rica. La habitación doble muy bien equipada y cómoda 😉

It was great that you could order some food and it was cooked for you…but I found quite strange that there are no eggs for breakfast.

Het personeel was heel aardig en gastvrij. Het eten in het hostel is ook erg goed! Het was ook mogelijk om je ontbijt of andere gerechten mee te nemen als je de hele dag weg zou zijn. Wij hadden een twee persoons prive kamer, deze was netjes, schoon en ruim! Prima voor 3 nachtjes :) We hadden ook de 3-daagse tour van Shelter-hostel geboekt naar Tumpak Sewu, Bromo en Ijen. De waterval Tumpak Sewu, de zonsopgang bij Bromo en de uitdagende klim van Ijen waren allemaal fantastisch!! Alles was goed geregeld en onze driver Herri heeft ons overal snel en netjes naar toe gebracht.

Stayed here for while exploring. The location was ideal, and close to good food options nearby. Check-in was smooth and the staff were genuinely helpful, giving good local tips and being quick to sort out any small issues. The room itself was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure, something that's not a given in hostels! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located, sociable stay. Already thinking about booking again next time.

Hostelbett hat Vorhänge, Steckdosen und ist sehr geräumig (fast wie ein kleiner Raum). Es gibt Schließfächer, tolle warme Duschen und sehr nettes Personal. Gekauftes Essen darf drinnen verzehrt werden, man bekommt sogar Teller und Besteck kostenlos angeboten. Rezeption ist von 6 bis 22 Uhr mindestens besetzt. Es gab kostenloses Trinkwasser und Klopapier :)

It was a great experience staying at dormitory room. Thankfully my roommates are nice and respectful - nothing weird. The bathrooms are clean and the hot shower worked well. Located near pasar klojen and train station.

Breakfast menu was mostly western style, so i had to look for breakfast elsewhere. No towel rack to hang my wet towel after showering. Some of the guest hung it next to bed in dormitory room

Liked the bed up on the mezzanine, felt like we were in a camper van. Staff kept the shared bathroom facilities really clean. Walkable location to everywhere we wanted to go. Breakfast on the premises was convenient and tasty

The mattress was just a piece of foam so didn’t offer much support but we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again

Staff muito simpático, ótimas condições e tudo muito limpo. Boa localização e com ótimos servicos para fazer tours, a comida também era muito boa.

Ouvia se sempre a reza a horas absurdas, não é fácil de descansar com isso. Mas isso não é culpa do alojamento.

Great breakfast, really friendly staff and amazing location right in the center of Malang. They helped us book Bromo and Tumpak Sewu with dropoff and pickup at the hotel and great guides and were quite helpful with other logistical questions. Our room was clean and quiet.

We booked a private room which was on the top floor of the hostel. Unfortunately the wifi really didn't work well in our room, but it seemed to be better on the lower floors. Also we had a fan which was good for sleeping but the room was otherwise pretty hot.

It's a cute hostel with incredibly friendly staff. We also booked the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall and 2 day Bromo-Ijen vulcano tour with them which we highly recommend!

One of my favorite hostel in Indonesia so far. The rooms are super cozy and clean, with big space next to the bed. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the location is really good.

Le personnel est adorable, avenant, de bon conseil, drole .. L'hostel propose plusieurs tours à la journée ou sur plusieurs jours, très bien. Les lieux sont propres et cosy. Les lits sont spacieux, avec pleins de rangements, le top.

Le matelas était un petit peu trop mou à mon goût mais j'ai très bien dormi.

Tout était très bien, juste il faisait hyper chaud dans la chambre il n’y avait pas de clim fonctionnelle.

Personal ist freundlich! Man kann vor Ort zu jeder Zeit Essen bestellen, dass frisch zubereitet wird. Kleiner absperrbarer Sound für Wertsachen vorhanden, allerdings muss das Schloss selbst mitgebracht werden. Mini Ventilator bei jedem Bett installiert.

Es liegt leider an einer lauten Straße und ist etwas hellhörig. Die Vorhänge dunkeln nicht gut ab.

Very nice hostel and the staff was very friendly. They also have a small restaurant which is good too.

Amazing hostel, great value for money, staff who go above and beyond. We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet with AC. The middle floor was a social atmosphere with drinks/water and the usual amenities. The location is perfect to walk or grab/taxi around the city. What truly amazed me though is the helpfulness of the staff! I left my earbuds/airpods at the hostel, and upon realising contacted them. They agreed to ship them to my next stay in Bali and I’m so grateful! I’d absolutely reccomend this hostel!

Hele leuke mensen die met je meedenken. Super vriendelijk! Comfortabele kamer en mooi schoon. Al met al een top verblijf!

Wat een leuk relaxed hostel! Prima prive kamer met gedeelde wc en badkamer. Alles erg schoon! Personeel is super aardig en het eten is er prima. Prima uitvalsbasis voor als je een tour wilt doen naar de waterval, bromo of ijen. Die je daar ook kan boeken trouwens.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The showers and toilets were clean, and the air-conditioned room was comfortable. There were plenty of options for hanging clothes, which was very convenient. It was also possible to have meals at the hostel. The food was very good, although slightly on the expensive side. The breakfast was excellent.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Das Team ist superfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer fanden wir total gemütlich und alles hat gut funktioniert (Klimaanlage war gut). Auch die Speisen im Cafe waren gut, besonders das Frühstück und es gab ein paar vegetarische/vegane Alternativen (Sojamilch). Außerdem werden Touren (Tumpak Sewu, Bromo etc.) angeboten, die preislich in Ordnung sind (wir haben sie nicht gebucht, aber hätten es vermutlich gemacht, wenn wir es vorher gewusst hätten). Zum Bahnhof sind es nur ein paar Minuten zu Fuß! Top Hostel aus unserer Sicht!

Nachdem wir eine Nacht in der Nähe des Tumpak Sewu verbrachten, kamen wir in dieses Hostel zurück! Würden wir immer wieder machen, denn das Hostel ist super und das ganze Team sehr lieb! Im Doppelzimmer fühlten wir uns ein bisschen wie in einem Baumhaus und fanden es sehr gemütlich!

In der Nacht haben uns Geräusche in der Zimmerdecke leider einmal den Schlaf geraubt und um 04:15 hört man die Moschee recht laut, wenn man einen leichten Schlaf hat. Das ist in Indonesien aber nichts Ungewöhnliches.

A lovely stay at the Shelter hostel. The staff were lovely, welcoming and organised 2 great trips for us! Bromo and Tumpak sewu waterfall. The toilet and shower were spotless, and the room was nice and cosy. Such good value for money!

The AC was not working in the room so didn’t sleep bc of the heat. It is also very noisy with windows closed, almost as if I am standing outside and taking in all the sounds

Perfect for our 1 night in Malang before the East Java tour! Host was extremely welcoming and friendly.

Had to be super cautious getting up and down from the bed but this is if we had to be super picky. Everything else was faultless!

Das Zimmer war einfach, aber mehr als ausreichend. Das Frühstück und auch das Abendessen war hervorragend! Sehr lecker. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Der Bahnhof ist zu Fuss erreichbar. Wir konnten über die Unterkunft eine Tour zum Wasserfall mit Guide buchen.

In der Nähe liegt eine Moschee und wir wurden jeweils durch den ersten Gebetsruf gegen 04:10 geweckt. Da kann die Unterkunft aber nix für.
