This is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. * The bed was dirty. * There was no light in the room. * The kitchen did not open until 8:30 a.m. Even some restaurants open earlier than that. * Guests are not allowed to store their luggage after 5 p.m., even if they are willing to pay. * After checking out, guests can only remain at the hostel until 11:30 a.m., including in the common areas. * The owner was extremely rude. She repeatedly told me that I had only five minutes to leave and kept reminding me that I could not stay beyond 11:30. It felt as though she was deliberately pushing me out of the hostel. Overall, the facilities, rules and customer service were extremely disappointing. I would not recommend staying here.

Très bon emplacement, personnel très gentil avec des bons conseils.

Le fait qu'on doive se déplacer dans le noir afin de pouvoir allumer la lampe accrochée au lit. Pas de clim mais un plafonnier qui brasse de l'air chaud. Les deux nuits passées ont été très courtes. Les guests qui se permettent d'être en caleçon pour se balader dans la chambre.

La terraza es increíble. Pero lo mejor del hostel son las personas que trabajan allí que lo hacen ser mas cálido. Tendrás recomendaciones sobre qué hacer en Lagos. La cocina es completa cómoda y super limpia. La habitación solo mujeres tiene AC y es muy cómoda con los baños solo para mujeres Al lado. Todo limpio siempre

No es algo que no me gustó. Pero el horario de apertura de la cocina lo modificaria por el periodo de verano pues el horario actual me resulto tarde para el tiempo de turismo que se hace en verano

Die Mitarbeiterinnen waren alle super freundlich. Alles war super ausgestattet, besonders die Küche. Man hatte alles was man brauchte, sogar Gewürze. Die Terrasse draußen war wunderschön und auch der Blick nach vorne hin zum Hafen war toll! Die Lockers waren sehr geräumig und praktisch unter dem Bett. Außerdem hatte jedes Bett seine eigenen Steckdosen, auch die Etagenbetten oben.

Die Badezimmer waren im Erdgeschoss etwas wenig und sind mega schnell warm geworden, da es keine Fenster gab.

La ubicación está genial, al frente tienes los stands para averiguar los tours en bote.. (hacelo) Muy limpio, vistas hermosas, te dan toalla y candado!

Fui muito bem recebida, ambiente muito acolhedor e possibilidade de conhecer pessoas incríveis. Com certeza voltaria.

Ótima localização com uma vista incrível, limpeza impecável, colchão muito bom para descansar, um terraço muito agradável, mas o que fez a diferença foi a Simpatia e o Acolhimento da Anfitriã Dona Filipa, que nos fez sentir verdadeiramente em casa. Recomendamos e vamos voltar com certeza.

Location is nice

Las habitaciones muy cómodas y el lugar con mucho encanto, decorado con buen gusto y una terraza magnífica. Filipa, la manager, muy agradable. Lo recomendamos 100%

The location is excellent — you can easily walk everywhere, with everything you need close by. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. A special mention to Julia, who took the time to recommend activities nearby, suggest restaurants, and explain everything to me. She was incredibly helpful and even gave me a book, which was such a lovely touch.

A couple of things could be improved: adding curtains around the beds would provide more privacy, and the wooden floor can be quite noisy/creaky.

Todo el staff amigable, daban ayuda y consejos, la cocina bien equipada, las salas de estar afuera y dentro son espaciosas, lindas y cómodas. Las duchas son varias y funcionan muy bien. Las camas muy bien.

Todo bien ya en general. Talvez un poco mas de espacio en estantes para que no se apelsame mucho los items de todos los inquilinos en la cocina y una cortina para las camas superiores.

Gostei do fácil acesso a area de restaurantes e proximidade com a praia. Dá pra fazer tudo andando, sem gastar muito tempo e dinheiro com isso. Fica super próximo ao mercadão (um pouco mais acima na rua do hostel tem o portão dos fundos do mercadão!), um lugar que vale muito apena visitar pra conhecer produtos locais.

Não gostei que o hostel não oferece toalha e cobra 2 euros pra alugar uma. A cozinha não é muito espaçosa, então às vezes tinha um grande fluxo de pessoas e era incomodo. Não poder usar o banheiro pré-check in para trocar de roupa também deixou a desejar, afinal, é um ambiente de praia e raramente as pessoas viajam com roupa de banho.

Fantastic location, I was able to leave my stuff before and after check-in, helpful staff - especially Julia, who gave me useful information about what to do in Lagos, separate male and female bathrooms, as well as mixed bathrooms, which were always clean

Disappointed that I wasn’t able to use the kitchen until after 8.30am in the morning - it is locked. I didn’t realise this when booking. The lounge and the outside terrace are also closed until 8.30am in the morning. I was staying in a dorm, so meant that there was nowhere to sit or eat until these facilities were open- I checked this with staff who confirmed this. It was annoying as I was going surfing at 8am on Sunday and was difficult to have breakfast before.

The friendliest staff! Super welcoming and gave lots of information on the area and suggestions for things to do which is always appreciated when new to the area. Located right off the main road with a view of the marina. Prime location. Has a nice rooftop tho it closes around 11pm

Rooms were very hot despite being directly under a fan. All the common areas close in the late evenings so if you’re a night owl it makes it hard to have a place to relax if you don’t want to disturb your roommates. Some of us were under the understanding there would be family dinner and other organized activities however they stopped these a few years back.

The location is perfect and the view from the terrace and lobby is awesomeee! The staff is very kind and they were always able to help me!

The kitchen is closed at 24:00 😂

La struttura è molto carina e curata, con tanti spazi comuni ben gestiti. Le camere sono pulite ed ogni letto ha le proprie prese ed un cassettone capiente dove inserire tutti i propri oggetti personali (ci stava anche il trolley). La struttura mette a disposizione gratuitamente un lucchetto per chiudere il cassettone. Il personale è competente e molto disponibile. Elemento da non trascurare è la posizione che è ottima per visitare il centro della bellissima cittadina di Lagos e a due passi dalla Marina e dai mezzi pubblici che in breve conducono alle spiagge più belle in zona

Se proprio devo trovare una pecca, direi che nelle stanze mancava una luce comune: era presente solamente l’abat-jour accanto a ciascun letto.

Showers were just cubicle type with slightly frosted glass doors and that’s it. Very tiny cubicle space for toilets so no real privacy anywhere to get changed. Kitchen only opened at 8:30 which was a tad inconvenient especially for people going on early activities etc

The rooms were clean, comfortable and we had a lovely Terrace view onto the street private with a shared bathroom. It was perfect.

I could only stay in this room for one night, but it was amazing, with AC, a single bed for your own… fantastic!!

Everything was excellent and I absolutely recommend staying here! The hostel is just in the center of Lagos, but in a quiet street and in front of the Marina, so it’s not very noisy. The room was spacious enough and comfortable for me. It has a lot of toilets and even a private one for women! The terrasse and the living room are very nice, but what I fell in love with are the vibes and the history of the building and my conversations with Filipa, the owner, always there to help you with a smile!!

So well kept, staff very friendly and welcoming. Really liked the bathroom facilities

Le confort de la chambre est minimal. Le réfrigérateur mériterait d'être plus grand et mieux organisé. Il serait bien de préciser dans l'annonce que l'ouverture des communs n'est qu'à partir de 8h30

Everything is within walking distance, and the hostel was clean

If you are a heavy sleeper and noise doesn’t bother you, this hostel may be fine for you. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience. I didn’t sleep at all during the night. I don’t know what the other rooms are like, but mine was extremely noisy. Even earplugs didn’t help. The bed squeaked with every movement, and people kept loudly slamming the doors throughout the night. Good location , but unfortunately the stay was disappointing. There is no air conditioning, so the room gets extremely hot and stuffy. It is also very noisy at night because of the street outside and people constantly slamming doors, making it difficult to sleep. What disappointed me the most was the way I was treated by a staff member. Around 12:20 a.m. I wanted to quickly take my own bottle of water from the fridge (hot and stuffy in my room). I wasn’t planning to cook or use the kitchen. I was told that the kitchen was closed, and when I explained that I only wanted to take my water, I was told that I could drink water from the TOILET. I found this comment rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I expected to be treated with basic courtesy and respect.

Taghostel is the perfect place to stay in Lagos. The location is excellent: it’s close to the town center, as well as all the bars, restaurants, and shops. It’s also within walking distance of the beaches and the main departure points for getting around, and it overlooks the marina. The hostel is very spacious, with large, well-organized common areas. It features a beautiful terrace, a well-equipped kitchen, and a very comfortable living room. The best part is definitely the staff. Julia, Filipa, and Raph were absolutely wonderful—always friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. It’s clear that they put a lot of passion and care into their work, making the hostel feel warm, welcoming, and like a home away from home. Everything is clean, well maintained, and easy to use. The rooms are spacious, functional, and very comfortable. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable, and each bed is equipped with a power outlet, a reading light, and a locker, making the stay even more convenient.

L’accoglienza è stata molto calorosa, la ragazza alla reception mi ha accolto spiegandomi tutte le funzionalità e regole dell’ostello (fornendo anche le indicazioni sui posti migliori dove mangiare in città, sia per cena, colazione e caffetteria). Gli ospiti erano molto rispettosi e l’ambiente molto casalingo. La stanza molto fresca, ma minimal.

Leggero maleodore dalle docce. Docce molto piccole, ma tanto servono giusto solo il tempo di lavarsi :) Larghezza della stanza minimale (ma per dormire va più che bene)

A really comfortable hostel in the middle of town but just away from the busy area. The women's dorm upstairs has aircon and single beds (not bunks) so it was super comfortable. Very kind staff.

The staff was not particularly friendly. When I arrived, I was told to leave my luggage in a corner until check-in time. Afterwards, the employee seemed annoyed that I had placed it on a chair in that corner. She then said, in an irritated tone, that she would move my luggage somewhere else because it was a chair and chairs were meant for sitting. This was despite the fact that it was the exact corner she had pointed to, and the chair was standing right in front of the bathroom in a passageway where nobody would realistically sit down anyway. She also told me that my room was not ready yet. I went back into the city and returned about an hour and a half before check-in, hoping that the room might be ready by then. When she opened the door for me, she immediately said that the room was still not ready. I replied that it was no problem and that I would just sit in the common room and wait there, as I had had a long journey. She reacted in an irritated manner to this, which I found surprising, as I do not understand why it would be an issue for guests to sit in the common area before check-in. This was my only negative hostel experience in Portugal. I simply did not feel welcome. The large number of rules also contributed to that feeling. The people staying at the hostel also seemed to keep to themselves rather than interact with each other as in other hostels I have stayed in. Overall, the vibe just felt off.

Zona centralissima e vicino alla stazione dei bus. L’accoglienza è stata ottima e Raf mi ha dato ottimi consigli. Le aree comuni sono grandi e ben organizzate. Ho apprezzato molto sia la terrazza che il salotto, entra con vista sul porto.

Super freundliches Personal, tolle Lage

Im Zimmer war es super heiss und stickig, kein AC, der Ventilator war nicht ausreichend.

Ich habe die letzte Nacht vor Abreise dort gebucht, Die erste Mitarbeiterin war sehr freundlich und ich konnte mein Gepäck zur Aufbewahrung bringen. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, es ist sehr ruhig, trotzdem ist man in wenigen Minuten in der Stadt und am Busbahnhof, was mir für die frühe Abreise sehr wichtig war. Es ist ein sehr familiäres Hostel und KEIN Party-Hostel. Das fand ich sehr angenehm.

Ich musste das Hostel um 5.00 Uhr verlassen und konnte die Küche nicht nutzen, da diese über Nacht geschlossen ist. So konnte ich meinen Proviant für die Weiterreise nicht im Kühlschrank lagern und die Küche für ein Frühstück nicht nutzen. Für Ankunft nach 15.00 Uhr, schlafen im 8-Betten-Saal ist somit 30€ pro Nacht finde ich grenzwertig. Außerdem wurde ich aufgefordert meine Schlüssel vor 0.00 Uhr abzugeben. Wenn ich für eine Nacht bezahle, möchte ich auch meinen Schlüssel zum Zimmer und Schließfach für diese Nacht haben und nicht erst darum diskutieren müssen. Es gab keinen Platz um Handtuch oder Bikini über Nacht zu trocknen. Ein Wäscheständer für alle ist zu wenig, im Zimmer kein Platz. Die Küche ist sehr klein, und auch der Kühlschrank für die Menge an Personen zu klein. Mir kam beim Öffnen der Kühlschranktür alles entgegen. Vielleicht könnte man das etwas anders organisieren.

Todo. Filipa es un amor de persona, te hace sentir como en tu casa desde el primer minuto, además de explica todo sobre Lagos y sus pequeños secretos. Las instalaciones muy bien: Los baños siempre limpios y además espaciosos. La cocina grande y bien equipada Las habitaciones con pocas camas y ventilador. Yo dormí muy bien. La ubicación perfecta, en pleno centro de Lagos pero en una calle lejos del ruido.

位置很好在小镇的入口处，窗外风景也挺漂亮～整个民宿装饰的有格调，公共空间也挺舒适。大巴站下车后按照导航走要上一段台阶.

Very cute hostel, clean, cozy atmosphere. Made some friends and really enjoyed my stay and the view from the terrace. The owner works there herself and is very kind!

Quiet hours after 11pm was a bit sad. We weren’t allowed to hang out in the common areas anymore, even though the terrace would be perfect the perfect spot for chilling and having some late night deep talks or so, that can still happen quietly… but that’s really the only criticism :)

Location was great, i can easily say its in the city centre, staff was amazing and very friendly and helpfull, all was clean. Highly recommend this property to anyone planning to visit Lagos.

A localização é muito boa, pertinho de tudo. O staff é simpático e prestativo, destaco a Filipa e a Julia, que foram com quem mais conversei. Os quartos são amplos e iluminados e há banheiros em número suficiente, de forma que nunca peguei fila para o banho.

Não é muito acessível: para quem vem a pé, tem escadas pra subir (pela ruazinha lateral), mas dependendo do horário pode-se usar o elevador do mercado. Meu quarto também dependia de escadas. Foram três noites sem descansar: o quarto que fiquei é muito, muito quente e não tem ar condicionado, só um ventilador que não dá conta da demanda. Além disso, a única área “de apoio” do quarto era uma cadeira, que estava sempre monopolizada pelas roupas e bolsas de uma das ocupantes (o que claramente não é culpa do hostel mas seria evitado/minimizado se houvesse uma mesinha e tal). Por fim, são bastante inflexíveis: na última noite pedi pra trocar de quarto por uma questão de saúde e foram irredutíveis, informando em segundos que o hostel estava cheio e não seria possível (nem tentaram conversar com ninguém).

It was a nice open hostel with a great rooftop. They had everything you need and all the staff were lovely. Everything was clean.

There is a busy street ahead, so if you are a light sleeper, take some earplugs but it didnt bother me. Pillows were a little small and flat but nothing to be really concerned about

Good location - everywhere walkable, rooms are large, towel and locker provided, power socket and lamp near bed, nice outdoor and indoor area to relax.

Only minor - highly suggest this fridge hack - shelving containers for each room, or ask for check-out date on food so things can be chucked out, was a bit of a mess. Girls bathroom upstairs is tiny for tall girls. Hard to get in and out of stalls, knees always hitting things.

Torn m'ha agradat , potser per dir algo les mides de les dutxes una mica justes.

Sempre muito bom estar nesse lugar. O pessoal muito bacana; a localização é excelente, com a melhor vista; limpeza é boa, e dá pra fazer boas amizades.

A localização é a melhor. Perto de tudo, das praias, restaurantes, mercado, mesmo no centro, e com uma vista excelente. A anfitriã Filipa é um doce de pessoa, muito receptiva, educada e prestável.

O quarto poderia ter ar-condicionado, temos que dormir com janela aberta, só que tem muito barulho externo. O sofá que tinha estava muito acabado, sem condições de ninguém sentar, nem pra calçar as sapatilhas.

The property is really well looked after. Clean, spacious, comfortable. Lots of sunlight, fresh air, well located.

I like about the location, a lot of shops around and near the beach.

There is no rugs on the bathroom to wipe your feet after shower 😆. The lady stuff also not so so friendly (she was just faking it 🤣) and she always start to demo from the very start every time there is a new guest coming in 😆🤣 took me 30mins to wait and listen to what she was saying over and over. There is no hair dryer too

Bett war angenehm, Wohnzimmer und Dachterrasse toll. Lage ist ideal und das Personal sehr nett, freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Está atrás del mercado municipal, llegas caminando a todos lados, limpio, todo olía delicioso a recién lavado. Un super ventilador en el techo y la ventana enorme para el calor que hacía estaba genial. Bonitas bolsistas personales en el barandal de tu litera para que pongas tus cosas junto a tus propias conexiones de luz. Siempre habia papel en el baño y gran ducha de agua super caliente.

No está nada privado tu espacio, el metal de las literas rechina muchisimo cada que alguno se mueve, y al estar tan en el centro, hay mucho ruido y más con la ventana abierta, así que prevee tapones. Igual un locker grande de fierro cuelga de la base de la cama de abajo, así que si duermes abajo, cada que el de arriba abra o cierre su locker vas a sentirlo.

Posizione centrale, comoda per spostarsi a piedi. Le ragazze alla reception sono gentilissime e super accoglienti, mi hanno dato molti consigli sulla città. Camera e letti comodi, bagno pulito. Cucina condivisa ben attrezzata. Possibilità di prendere in prestito gratuitamente ombrelloni per la spiaggia. Poco distante c’è anche un parcheggio gratuito dove lasciare l’auto. Tutto perfetto, ho esteso il mio soggiorno di una notte extra!
