Easkey Hostel feels like a home rather than a hostel, there’s lots of themed details gone into the furnishings in the hostel and it’s quirky and cosy, you don’t get rushed out of the place at 10am for cleaning. It can accommodate 4 unrelated single travellers for bed space, plus two in a double bed. The hostel really suits a group of six travelling together and using the shared space of lounge, kitchen, bathroom and inner court yard area. Sleeping in the bunk bed rear room means walking across the outdoor pebbled inner court area during the night to use the loo/shower, so something on your feet is a must. It was my first time in this style of hostel and it was a pleasant surprise, smaller than I was expecting but very peaceful.

Walking across the pebbled inner outer court yard a few times throughout the night to use the loo and there was no direct access to the beach from the hostel, instead there is a path along the river Easkey that you can walk along. From the Booking.com photos I saw that the 4 bed bunk room had what I thought was an accessible sea view but it wasn’t.

El precio es algo caro para un hostel. Sería bueno algún enchufe o luz en las camas.

Friendly staff

No toilet paper. Not clean.

Has everything you need for a mini stay, bus stop close by, shop, take away, post office, pub and bike hire close by. Lovely river walk to the beach where you can surf if you wish and old ruins are there. Everyone was lovely, couldn't fault, would pay a visit again.

Problème de clef et d'accueil à l'arrivée. Un peu de stress. Nous nous sommes adaptés et avons modifié notre programme en conséquence. Dommage car l'endroit invite à la détente.

Nice place with very cozy backyard, nice common rooms.

Room was very small and you could feel humidity in the bedsheets. Very tiny kitchen.

Beautiful Location, decor, atmosphere and some free cereals including granola and oatmeal.

Some issues with drainage of shower, otherwise shower pressure was good. Could do with some sockets in the room I was in.

Easy to find. Quirky interior

The hostel was clean and cosy. We had a private room that was spacious and comfortable. The stand out however, were the hosts. They were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful, and I would recommend anyone in the Sligo area to stay in this lovely hostel.

Purtroppo un altro ospite presente è stato abbastanza maleducato, appena arrivati in struttura, con stanchezza, ritardo e bisogno di mangiare (tornare a Sligo) l'ospite che stava fumando nel patio ha subito occupato il bagno. Cosa che poteva fare prima o dopo visto che è rimasto lì. La porta aperta con il fumo che entrava in cucina in bagno e in camera. Ho chiesto alla ragazza di intermediare ed è stata molto gentile.

L'emplacement avec l'épicerie et le pub juste à côté. Décoration du lieu soignée, ambiance surf.

Lit inconfortable et bruyant. Pas toujours simple de partager une salle de bain avec WC pour 6 personnes. Difficile de se reposer en journée.

Quiet, clean .

No powerpiints in room. No lamps to read in bed, so if sharing only main lights. No shelf in shower for shampoo, said to improve rather ithan complain. very clean.

Bathroom and relaxing areas were lovely. Centre of Easkey village. Good if you want to surf.

Très bien placé. Endroit parfait pour ceux qui cherchent des spots de surf et le côté rapide pour l'accès l'accessibilité.

Endroit avec beaucoup de passage, vous côtoyez d'autres personnes, donc le bruit peut déranger le soir.

Lovely old building with beautiful features , very nice views of the sea from the back door. Melissa was lovely host and very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

This hostel had a great vibe about it and made you feel relaxed upon entering. The courtyard is a retreat and having a furry rabbit friend during the stay was a bonus! The double room and shared bathroom facilities were great and modern. Plus the kitchen space was very much appreciated. Perfectly location in town too, right next to a convenience shop and pub.

Quiet getaway close to the ocean, good midpoint for going north or south in Western Ireland. Nicely decorated and provided with basics to cook and facilitate stay.

It was a little cold inside the hostel, but it was March. It would also be helpful to label the switch on the wall for the shower as it was turned off a couple times and we thought we didn't have water.

Beautiful deco, extremely clean, good location and very comfortable. Great chill out court yard with the company of Jumpy, the resident rabbit. Very welcoming host, Melissa.

Thank you so much! It was incredibly wonderful at Easkey Hostel. A stay there is more like being guest in a lovely home than in a hostel. I loved the livingroom, with the guitar, the drums and the cozy couch. The kitchen ist cute and there are always some pasta, cornflakes and tea free to use. I asked for a hair dryer and got one immediately. It was also so much fun with the other guests. One day we heated up the hot tub and enjoyed it at night under shining stars. The shop next door has everything you need, also h hot water bottle for an ice cold surfing day in October. I loved the surrounding and the whole village. But if you try to escape from Irelands Halloween - Crazyness, you ´re in the wrong village. I ´m so afraid of Halloween and was so happy to find this cute hostel in the middle of nowhere…but then I arrived and I was surprised to see the creative Halloween decoration. It was crazy cool (also a little bit scary), everywhere on the only street in the village were dolls as big as humans. It was great fun and everyone in this village was very friendly. Thank you so much. I´ll never forget this time and have still some friends I met there.

Nothing. Even the postman at the small post office is a friendly sunshine and I even miss to send my postcards there.

There was no breakfast. The village is very quiet, which can be a good thing or not depending on what you are looking for.

The room at the back with bunk beds is quiet but the double room is just too noisy with major acoustic problems coming from the power shower upstairs and the adjoining room which is the owner's kitchen.

I was greeted in a friendly way by Mellica. I was able to get a hot drink. People in Easkey very friendly. I especially iked the Miners cafe. Very god coffee and breakfast.

All good for me.

Lovely homely place. Helpful friendly welcoming owners. Location was superb for my visit to local landmarks I wanted to visit.

Perhaps a little lamp/bedlight if wanted to read.

Es hat furchtbar nach nassem Hund gerochen, die Handtücher konnte man nicht benutzen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer hinter der Küche, gegenüber vom Bad, unter der Treppe. Das war nicht besonders angenehm. Sauber war es nicht. Die Toilette im Bad ist nicht angeschraubt, sodass man das Gefühl hat man fällt um. Im Küchenbereich steht ein scheinbar selbst gefliester Tisch, bei dem man noch das Frühstück der vorherigen Gäste in den Ritzen erkennen kann. Der Hase ist süß, hat aber keine Grünfläche und keinen Kumpanen, sowie kaum Futter als wir dort waren.
