LHOYJEAN Garden Hostel

Wunderbar. Ein süßes kleines Hostel. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber völlig ausreichend. Die Gemeinschaftsbäder (WC und Dusche getrennt) sind sehr sauber und der Gemeinschaftsbereich sehr angenehm um auszuspannen. Das Abendessen das auf Wunsch gebucht werden kann ist hervorragend. Richtig gut gekochte Hausmannskost. Es besteht die Möglichkeit einen Roller zu mieten. Der Roller war noch kein Jahr alt und in einem super Zustand.

Ero l’unica ospite della struttura, perchè sono stata in bassa stagione e i proprietari mi hanno accolto benissimo. Mi hanno fatto un upgrade della mia sistemazione e sono stati veramente gentili. La struttura è semplice e molto accogliente, pulita e hanno a disposizione motorini e tuk tuk per gli spostamenti. La posizione è vicinissima alle Chocolate Hills.

Personalet var simpelthen så søde og gjorde alt for at vi ville få det bedste ophold. Vi boede i de små hytter og de var rigtig fine med en lille blæser og myggenet. Lhoy planlagde forskellige ture til os rundt på øen, så behøvede ikke at undersøge en masse selv, hvilket var super dejligt. Jean sørgede for dejlig mad både morgen og aften.

Tout! Ici je me suis sentie vraiment en famille. Très beau endroit au milieu de la nature. Un diner très très bon et un petit déjeuner aussi délicieux. Je vous recommande vivement de venir passer un séjour ici. Merci beaucoup pour tout !

I had a very nice stay at Lhoy and Jean Garden. They have been very welcoming right from the beginning. The hostel is located near the rice fields, chocolate hills and a small village. I enjoyed the calm environment and nature around. I can definitely recommend to spend some time in Bohol countryside and visit the hills, Tasiers, waterfalls nearby. Thanks a lot Jean and Lhoy!

Lhoy and Jean are so lovely, they will make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Lhoy taught me how to ride a motorbike, which has been very useful as I'm riding everyday during my trip now. Also he gave me informations about activities. Breakfast and dinner are 100% homemade and absolutely delicious. I have one regret, I didnt stay enought time.. Thank you Lhoy and Jean !

Beautifully maintained and quiet, in a great location near the chocolate hills. Lhoy and Jean were so incredibly accommodating and the option to pay a small amount extra for dinner and breakfast and be fed with tasty home cooked food right from the garden was such an unexpected bonus!!

Hosts Lhoy and Jean were amazing people, they really looked after you and made you feel like family. Amazing facilities for the money, easily one of my favourite accommodations in South East Asia!

Nothing at all

I liked EVERYTHING! Thank you, Lhoy and Jean for accomodation, it was amazing! First of all, you have all you need (to be honest, except hot water, but it was not that crusial): Kitchen with a fridge and gas, drinking water, common space for the guests. In the 2d flood there are just matresses, but that's an amazing option! You sleep in the fresh air all the time. No ac needed. Mosquito nets are available, so nothing to complaint. Owners are super helpful and positive. When I arrived, Lhoy has invited me to join the treking with him to see another view of the CH and it was really amazing. They even helped me to pay for my parcel that should be come to Panglao via gcash. This was one of the best experience in Bohol! Thank you, guys, again and wish prosperity to your business!

No hot water. Lol. Not that crusial, but it can be improved.

Très bon rapport qualité prix. Le lit est confortable, les sanitaires/douches sont impeccables. La cuisine de Jean est très bonne, mention spéciale pour ses aubergines 😉 Accès à une cuisine et un frigo ce qui est un vrai plus. Possibilité de louer un scooter sur place pour découvrir l’île. Lhoy propose également des « circuits » pour adaptables. Bref un séjour authentique, simple et reposant.

The property was simple and comfortable with everything we needed. Our hut/bed was comfy, we were worried about it being hot at night without a/c but it cooled down so much at night. Simple kitchen area, they have free drinking water and coffee/tea and other things for a small fee. Cold showers worked well. We rented a scooter from them. They have dinners and breakfasts available for a good price and the meal we had was so delicious! They are located a 30 min walk outside of Batuan so it’s best to rent a scooter if staying here. Amazingly helpful and friendly owners Lhoy and Jean, thank you for the great stay!

Simply everything! It is simply a fantastic place run by a very warm and loving family. The accommodation (cabins) was very clean, comfortable and large enough. The same goes for the toilets, showers and the communal kitchen where coffee, beer etc is available. The garden is also beautiful and very well maintained. You can hire a scooter directly from the accommodation and they also offer excursions. The location is great for getting to everything. There is also a great breakfast and homemade dinner for little money if required. Plus fresh fruit from the garden or coconuts. It really is one of the best places we've stayed in at a very reasonable price. We would come back at any time and can only advise everyone to get to know Lhoy and Jean and their wonderful accommodation for themselves.

Petit bungalow basique mais simple, propre et confortable. J'ai pris tout mes repas là-bas le soir. Un régal, des portions généreuses pour un prix très abordable. Les légumes et le riz proviennent de leurs plantations.tous les matins, j'ai eu droit a une noix de coco fraîchement cueillie et a un citron du jardin pour me faire un jus. GH situé au calme dans un petit village. Scooter indispensable.

Il faut avoir conscience que les cabanes, le coin repas, le dortoir et le coin fumeur ( petite table dans le jardin) sont collés les uns aux autres et que les cloisons en bambou n'isolent pas le son! Vous entendrez vos voisins ronfler écouter de la musique ou discuter comme s'ils étaient dans votre chambre.

Very warm and helpful hosts. The accommodation is simple, clean, and has everything you need. The food, made with ingredients from their garden, is fantastic. A great base for various activities. Thank you so much for everything!

The cottages are very pretty. However, you should be aware that it's noisy – don't forget your earplugs or borrow some on site :-)

Great location just couple of km outside Batuan and within an easy scooter ride of all the major attractions of Bohol, including only 10min ride of the Chocolate Hills lookout. The huts are small but very comfortable and well laid out and set in a beautiful garden. The food was excellent and great value. The hosts are very warm, generous and helpful. The shared bathrooms are spotless. You should definitely do the sunset hike with Lhoy, up a hill in his nearby home village for a peaceful wonderful view. There is a reason this property is so highly rated by all guests!

Jean and Lhoy are really great hosts. They're very sweet, and knowledgeable about the island. The simple bungalows were comfy. We enjoyed the group meals and hanging out with the backpackers staying in the dorm, even though we're a little older! Everyone was quiet and respectful, it was a good place to share travel advice. Jean's cooking is delicious! Very close to chocolate hills (10 mins tuktuk).

Nous avons passé 3 jours en famille chez Lhoy et Jean, nous avons adoré l'endroit et l'accueil ! Toujours aux petits soins avec les enfants, on y mange très bien et l'emplacement est parfait pour explorer les chocolat hills, cascades ...

Un lugar realmente auténtico en Filipinas. Lhoy y Jean te ayudarán para que tu estadía en BoHol sea perfecta. El lugar es muy bonito y muy cómodo, incluso para mí que iba son moto y pude ir caminando a ver Chocolate Hills. La posibilidad de cenar allí mismo me pareció genial. La comida es riquísima y es un buen momento para conocer otros viajeros.

La chambre est simple mais super fonctionnelle. Ce qui fait le charme de cet hostel sont les hôtes qui sont adorables et très très bon cuisinier. Je vous recommande d’y manger matin et soir. Ce logement est aussi idéalement situé pour explorer Bohol (5min des Chocolates Hill) tout en étant au calme. Foncez !!

Tout était parfait ! Lhoy et Jean sont adorable ! Ce sont une très belle famille chaleureuse et accueillante. On se sent comme à la maison chez eux. La nourriture est excellente ! Nous étions triste de les quitter, ce sont de beaux moments vécus ensemble. Cela vaut plus que 5 étoiles 🤩 Si nous devons revenir au Philippines, nous repasserons par ici 🥰

Lhoy et Jean sont des hôtes géniaux. Nous avons passé un super séjour chez eux. Lhoy nous a présenté toutes les activités à faire à Bohol et il est venu nous chercher à l’arrêt de bus en tuktuk. Location de scooter de qualité pour 400 pesos par jour. Jean peut nous préparer très bons petits déjeuners et dîners pour 170 et 200 pesos respectivement. On vous conseille vivement de séjourner chez eux !

Die Besitzer sind ein super freundliches und hilfsbereites Ehepaar. Sie kümmern sich sehr gut um die Geste und die Unterkunft ist in einer sehr guten Lage. Alle Aktivitäten sind sehr leicht mit dem Roller zu erreichen. Man kann Roller in der Unterkunft mieten, es gibt die Option auf Frühstück und Abendessen in dem Hostel.

Es war mega toll. Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön, die Gastgeber sind super freundlich, das Essen ist mega. Kann ich nur empfehlen!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Lhoy and Jean’s place, so much so that we decided to extend as did another group who were there when we were. We felt so at home from the beginning and Lhoy and Jean made so much effort to make us feel welcome, despite going through a family bereavement themselves. Their generosity and kindness was endless and they really wanted to make sure you enjoyed your time there. The huts were basic but clean with insect nets both around the bed and integrated into the building of the hut. The showers were normally cold water but refreshing and we never felt the need for hot water. Toilet was well-maintained and clean. The shared kitchen facility had good equipment and you really felt able to use it and the fridge. You didn’t need to though because Jean’s breakfast and dinner were one of the highlights for us - generous, delicious, and cheap at only around 200pesos per dinner, and 170 for breakfast. The ingredients mostly come from Lhoy’s garden and you can taste it. Honestly my favourite place in the Philippines so far, we felt so immersed and we LOVED it. We also met other like-minded tourists which added!

Petit déjeuner très bon et peu cher, repas du soir très copieux et de qualité !! Les scooters à la location sont de très bonnes qualités, les routes sont safes et les hôtes sont de très bon conseil et d’une grande gentillesse !! Si vous aimez la simplicité, la nature, et rencontrez des locaux n’hésitez pas

Un défaut qui est en réalité une qualité, c’est un peu éloigné donc un peu cher pour y allé et y revenir, mais ça vaut vraiment le coup

A warm welcome awaits you in this pleasant setting, with its well-appointed bungalows equipped with fans, power outlets, and mosquito nets. Jean and Lhoyd rent scooters on-site and offer delicious, generous, and inexpensive meals. It's a lovely place to stay. I loved it and highly recommend it.

Ce sont des personnes adorables qui tiennent cet hostel ! Ils louent des scooter ce qui est super car sinon c’est très compliqué de pouvoir ce déplacer. Ils nous proposent même des Tours déjà fait pour ne pas perdre de temps et aller au point spécifique de l’île ! Et la nourriture de Jean est vraiment succulente ! 😍😍😍

La chambre ainsi que les parties communes sont très propres Présence d’un ventilateur et d’une moustiquaire dans la chambre, nous n’avons pas eu chaud. Les hôtes sont vraiment très adorables Je recommande vivement :)

Was für ein traumhaftes Plätzchen mitten in Bohol! Ich hatte nicht das Gefühl, in eine Unterkunft einzuziehen, sondern bei einer Familie.🤗 Neben den Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe (u.a. Wasserfälle, Chocolate Hills) kann ich einen Spaziergang durch das kleine Dorf empfehlen. Die Menschen sind allesamt sehr herzlich und immer für ein Gespräch bereit. Einen Scooter kann man direkt in der Unterkunft buchen, um die Gegend zu erkunden. Wer die Chocolate Hills besuchen möchte, macht das am besten mit dem Besitzer des Lhoyjean. Er kennt da einen Geheimtipp fernab der touristischen Massen. 😉 Was gibt es noch zu sagen? Die Matratze war gemütlich, ein Moskitonetz ist vorhanden, und das Essen aus eigenem Anbau ist umwerfend gut. Sämtliche Transfers (Flughafen, Fähre, Sehenswürdigkeiten) können übrigens direkt nach der Buchung in Anspruch genommen werden. Macht euch hier eine schöne Zeit. Ich wäre sehr gerne länger geblieben. 😍

Tout a été parfait du début jusqu’à la fin de notre séjour. Toujours très arrangeant. Lhoy et Jean sont des personnes formidables et toujours aux petits soins pour vous. Il n’y a rien à redire. Les repas étaient très copieux et surtout excellent. Jean nous a toujours demandé ce qu’on désirait manger. Je recommande vraiment ce logement. Allez-y les yeux fermés! vous vous sentirez comme chez vous !

Lhoy et jeans sont adorables et souriants. Ils organisent les transfers, donnent des conseils d’activités, sont à l’écoute et il est possible de manger un délicieux petit déjeuner/dinner préparé par leurs soins avec les produits de leur jardin pour un prix très avantageux. L’emplacement au centre de l’île est idéale pour aller l’explorer. Location de scooter sur place. Très paisible, on s’y sent comme à la maison.

Lhoy en Jean are so friendly, they go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The food is amazing, only 200pesos for diner per person and they will fill the whole table! They make sure it's allergy friendly. The rooms are basic and all you need, because you will be busy exploring the area. He gives great recommondations!

We all like the place the food the surroundings . The Lhoyjean owner are accommodating approachable and friendly, try to vesit the place we are surely sure you gonna like it too.

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was a great time! Lhoy and Jean are super helpful and nice. They are always ready to give good advice and they will also rent a motorcycle to you which is the best way to move around Bohol. The dinners that Jean makes are so delicious and for the price, it doesn't get any better. The huts are comfortable although a little small so not the best if you have a ton of luggage. The bathroom is shared with all people staying at the hostel but we never had to wait and Jean keeps everything super clean. The location is great, very much countryside. You will hear animals but it really is to be expected given where you are, just pack earplugs for the Philippines in general. You are very close to many of the main attractions on the island.

Lhoy and Jean are the Kindest, most welcoming people you will ever meet. They made us feel at home from the start and walked us through all of the things we could do in the surrounding area. Every night they cooked us dinner for a very reasonable price, the food was delicious!! Thank you again for having us, if we are ever in the area again we will come back. Thank you!!!!!!

Everything! Lhoy and Jean are the best! The tips for the activities are wonderful, the place is very cozy and home-like, and the home-cooked dinners are delicious! Lhoy and Jean are the best hosts ever, they are welcoming, relaxed and ready to help with any question you have! This hostel is just a slice of peace in heaven. The amenities and accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable. The win in this place is the atmosphere - you feel like part of the family and get taken care of as such. Jean cooks a lovely dinner and breakfast at a small add cost. I had to work most afternoons / evenings and it was perfectly possible with stable enough wifi.

Sunset hike was very nice.

Unfortunately I didn't feel comfortable at all. The accommodation is extremely basic. Bathroom is terrible. The noise level is extremely loud, something I've never experienced before. The roosters start squawking at 3 a.m., there are roosters everywhere, as well as dogs, cats and children. You can't sleep because there are no walls. Without a scooter you're completely stuck. The shuttle service is very expensive. The food didn't blow me away either, I left after one night, three nights early. It was very nice that they gave me two nights off.

Perfect place to explore Bohol. There is a lot to see. You can rent a motorbike and they have great advice on where to go. The pickup with the tuk tuk they offer is also very convenient. The food they make is tasty. The bungalow and bathroom are clean. The people are very nice and because of them we had a great time in Bohol

It is a bit basic but for the price it is great! You share the jungle with roosters like many places in the Philippines.

Jean and Lhoy were soo kind and helpful. They recommended us different spots to explore and the location was perfect to get to ther. The breakfast and dinner were awesome, especially for vegetarians, it felt like family. You could also rent a scooter at the hostel and they offer transportation to the hostel. I would definitely go there again!

The only advice i would give to other people is that you should bring mosquito spray with you ;)

I had a really great time here, so much that I decided to extend! The guesthouse itself is very clean, the bungalows are lovely, immersed in the lush greenery of Lhoy and Jean's garden. The common area is also great, and the facilities are very good. There's free water and coffee and plenty of space to relax and socialise with other travellers, especially during shared meals in the morning and at night. The absolute highlight are Lhoy and Jean themselves - some of the kindest, most helpful and accommodating people I have met, and who make the place really special. They cooked us delicious dinner and breakfast every day and were always there to answer any question and offer help. Above all they have a very welcoming, friendly and bubbly energy which make you feel right at home. The guesthouse is also situated in a very convenient area to explore all Bohol has to offer. One of my best stays in the Philippines so far!

When people told me about this place, i kind of thought they were exaggerating a bit, but i was wrong! It is just perfect, the upstairs "hostel" room and the nipa huts are both amazing, the food is exceptional, and you dont have to run around organizing stuff, renting a bike, getting a taxi to the bus station, because the lovely family is happy to help you with everything with the local fees! My favourite moment is when i waited for the tuktuk for the bus station, their lovely boy sat down with me besides the road and we waited for it together. Such a lovely place and family, i already miss it!

Cozy social place with the 2 owners that take good care of their guests! They serve very good food every morning and evening and the accomodation is on a very central place to discover the island!

This was the nicest, warmest and most extraordinary accommodation in our four weeks in the Philippines. We stayed there for three nights with our daughters. It was so great. Lhoy and Jean are so warm and make you feel so welcome, the beautiful ambience, the homemade breakfast and dinner, the location ... it's just perfect! I had a fantastic experience at LhoyJean Garden Hostel. The owners, Lhoy and Jean, are amazing and made sure I always had everything I needed. They really went out of their way to take good care of me. The food, especially, is amazing. Jean cooks breakfast and supper for all the guests every day, and it was always delicious and plentiful (and well-priced). The kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need to cook if you want to make something yourself. The location is a 20 minute drive from the chocolate hills and a good waterfall, and within a day trip of just about every attraction on the island. At no extra charge, Lhoy will help you plan your excursions to do everything you might want to do. The accommodations themselves were kept clean and comfortable, and it's a very pleasant space with lots of greenery. Wifi was strong and reliable after they installed a repeater beside the common area.

Conditions were a little rustic, but it was fine. Just don't expect a luxury hotel experience. They only have cold showers, but it was usually quite hot outside anyway. Cabins were a little small, especially once the mosquito net is set up. The area roosters were quite loud some nights, and there is nowhere nearby that sells ear plugs, so bring your own for sleeping. Lhoy and Jean ordered some earplugs online for the guests to use for free because they're such good hosts :)

We had an AMAZING stay at this hostel! The staff was so kind, very cute family and adorable son. There is a big common space to socialize with other guests and you can have breakfast and dinner there for quite cheap! The dinners were delicious and the perfect opportunity to have a good talk with the guests. The hut we stayed in was comfortable and clean when we arrived. We are very pleased with our stay at Lhoyjean Garden Hostel and would recommend to anyone.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at! The owners are the most lovely people who went above and beyond and exceeded all of our expectations! We only stayed for 1 night unfortunately cause we were only passing through Bohol but Lhoy gave us such good recommendations, planned a whole day itinerary for us so we could see the highlights in the short time we had. The breakfast and dinner that Jean freshly cooks every day was some of the best food I've had in the whole Philippines!!! The shared dinner at the hostel creates a very warm athmosphere that makes it easy to socialise with others!

The property was an amazing stay, it was very comfortable and homely. The owners Lhoy & Jean are amazing people and very friendly and helpful. The hostel offers everything you’d need, from motorbike rentals, to tours, to breakfast & dinner everyday, to alcoholic drinks. Lhoy also offers a tuk tuk service so you literally have everything you need once you are at the hostel. It was a shame I had to leave the hostel but I had to move on! I would highly recommend staying here if you are in Bohol!
