The building has good old Chinese atmosphere.

The shower drain in the room was clogged. The floor gets like flood in just few mins. And the bunk beds didn’t have curtains or wall so, there was no privacy.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. They recommend great restaurants. The hostel is clean and quiet.

Das Guest House liegt sehr zentral, quasi mitten in der Fussgängerzone. Die Metro-Station ist nicht weit um die Ecke. Abends konnte man noch gemütlich durch die Gassen schlendern und was essen. Wir waren gegenüber vom Hostel untergebracht, oberhalb eines Kaffees, hier konnte man noch bis spät in die Nacht hinein etwas trinken. Die Mitarbeiter im Hostel waren sehr hilfsbereit und immer sehr freundlich. In Englisch konnte man sich hier gut verständigen. Auch hat er für mich einen Telefonanruf wegen einer Nachfrage zu einer Buchung übernommen. Echt topp!

The staff is very accomodating (early check in, many info, friendly) and the location is central

The place is quite dirty (towels, linen and the floor). Unfortunately, we found a cockroach in the bathroom, but the staff was very helpful and offered us another room.

熱水器是比較老式的，需要開久一點才有，沒有附盥洗用品，都需要自備，可以代收包裹、有免費網路(連線品質不太快)、室內燈偏暗，但整體古宅氛圍很不錯，交通也蠻便利，附近吃的很多，斜對角就有有小型超市賣店，方便購入各種物品及水

Great location, I like the charming traditional vibe. Need times for hot water (shower) to run 😅 Other than that...all good.

位置緊臨吳山廣場站，附近非遗景點/文創店家多，離西湖也不遠，有得玩。

房間設施平常，可能住客不多，算安靜。店家還幫我升等三人家庭房，性价比若非地點好，以設施言双人房價位應低於200元人民幣。除非配套有提升。

Quiet, cozy, in the historical center, truly kind hosts, loved it and I would come back!

Mattresses were tough. Some like this, to my individual taste this was difficult.

My third stay already. Owner speaks good English, is helpful and gives good tips. Rooms a bit older, but charming and clean. Superb location, maybe the best possible in Hangzhou for tourists.

Location, location location... the best ever. About 100m away from Hefang Street, where all the action is. Yet quiet and peaceful. So much to see within walking distance. I initially booked a dorm room to meet other travellers, but was offered a double room on the ground floor, with own bathroom. Excellent choice. It was spacious, clean and quiet. As an older foreign tourist travelling alone, it was a delight. The manager Bai was really helpful and spoke excellent English.

I struggled to find the Guest house on my Amap, as the Booking.com address translated into travel directions to another private address about 8km away. The staff at the train station information desk also sent me to the wrong address. Get to the Drum tower by taxi, and walk 500m from there. Or Take the 1 subway and get off at Ding"an Road metro station and walk 800m.

The room was next to a gorgeous courtyard; the location was excellent.

The room was a little bit dark. I was a bit underwhelmed by Hangzhou in general, not an amazing destination city for Western travellers (why are the Chinese so obsessed with that lake? It's not *that* spectacular).

It was a challenge to find the place. Booking.com's map service does not work in China. There's no vehicle access to the door so a taxi to the location only gets you close but you still have to walk to find the place.

We loved this place!! The guesthouse is an old building nicely renovated. We loved the vibes. The location is fantastic, right in the old historic part of Hangzhou, plenty of shops, coffee shops, restaurants close by (Hangzhou is such a cool city!) The staff was super nice and spoke good English. They gave us lots of recommendations.

The hotel is walking distance to Hefang Street and also near many restaurants. The man at the reception spoke good English. This hotel doesn't provide bottled water but they have a kettle in the room and also in the common area by reception.

Super helpful staff, who spoke great English and were very happy to help with absolutely anything. Excellent location in a pedestrianised and beautiful part of the city.

Like most places in China, the matresses are a little hard for westerners.

The service of a 5 star hotel for a great price. The receptionists are amazing , they even offer laundry pickup service! The facilities are old but well maintained. The location is spectacular, hands down the best location in town.

Many thanks again to him !!! - Simply the best location you can have in Hangzhou: in the old city, close to the metro and famous shopping street ; but in a very quiet area. - Everything was clean and convenient.

- Not the fault of the hotel: workers renovating a roof next to my room (very) early morning. I simply asked to change room after that and had no issue afterwards.

The location of the hostel is great. It is right in the centre of the old town, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and museums. The main train station is also close.

I only spent one night at the hostel instead of the four nights I had booked. That night, I barely slept. The humidity in the room was very high, and even the bed was damp - mattress, duvet, and pillow. This made sleeping almost impossible. It also smelled mouldy in the room. Cleanliness was generally an issue as well and the hostel doesn't even supply hand soap (not even upon request at the reception). To the credit of the hostel staff, they offered me to upgrade my room after I spent that horrible night. But expecting the mouldy smell everywhere, I rather checked out early.

Amazing location and the bed was comfortable. The natural light in the room was good. I met amazing people there.

The place was a bit dirty, old and pricey. And the heating wasn't good. The individual lights in the room were too strong, which is inconvenient.

The cat! Lovely to be able to pet it. The slim bespectacled lady who checked us in, she was excellent in service and attitude. we could feel her sincerity towards helping us get settled in and answered all our queries promptly. Her memory is very good and remembered what we had requested half a day earlier and reminded us when we got back in the evening. She deserves a raise! The cleaning auntie is also very helpful and hardworking

There isn’t a lot of space in the common area and could be crowded and squeezy. Not a biggie. The bathroom shower screen leaks. Toilet door is actually a curtain, quite strange.

Great Place! The people at the reception were very kind and helpful! It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable and bathrooms very clean. The best about the place is it's location! Close to the local shopping street, bars, and not far to Westlake!

The AC was quite noisy , couldn't sleep because automatically turn on and off every hour or so

The location was wonderful, near Hefang Road. The old part of town has plenty of shops and eateries, and is only about 25 minutes walk to West Lake. It had nice ambiance.

Although the room was small, and the facilities old, our stay was comfortable enough.

Location is amazing (easy to reach from two subway stations, almost at the big touristic street but also on a side lane so it's really quiet. Place itself is really beautiful, with an ancient-looking small courtyard. Staff was super open and friendly. I could also leave my luggage for a bit longer after checking out. I stayed in a 6-bed room. Room was spacious, with private and quite big toilet and bathroom. It was pretty quiet and comfortable.

The beds were three simple bunk beds, like in student dormitories, with no curtains/shades. So there was not much privacy (that's okay, but such a small thing can really be easily added and improve the overall impression a lot). It's particularly inconvenient when the neighbours turn the light on in the late evening.

Super nice and helpful front desk staff, and a cat. Localization is great.

Dirty room. Bedding with stains, fungus/mold on the wall and in the bathroom. You can hear people from the other rooms. We had a room on the ground floor - anyone passing by or using the garden could look into our room. I expected something better for this price.

The reception was excellent, the guy was very kind and helped us a lot with all the matters, also the little cat helper was so cute ~

Great location, lots of restaurants and shops around, night view just amazing, rooms are not big but very clean, end smelled nicely, also there was a small yard suitable for sitting and enjoying coffee and a book, staff very friendly and supportive.

Perfect location in the old tourist area of Hangzhou. mountain park with temple is nearby good for walking. open heart and hospitable owner. nice two cats for atmosphere. quiet and cosy place with nice guest. waking street so no any traffic noice. but should find car park if you travel by car. the nearest car park is not cheap 120rmb per day. better find some free or other part is not so fat 64 per day. Chinese spring festival will not have free parking lots.
