Amazing hostel in Singapore, great atmosphere, good staff, clean, and easily accessible. I really liked it.

I would recommend having curtains on the beds, it's a bit uncomfortable, but I didn't have any problems.

The host was so kind friendly and very helpful. He has shared the maps how to explore singapore and always ready to help with small things to big things. He made me feel welcomed and warm. Thank you very much for such hospitality

The neighborhood is great. The food and souvenir shop, the scenery around and the design of Betel box is fascinating!

I am assigned a bed on top, and it has no curtain. 2 out of 3 staff members I met were supportive and interactive. A senior staff member seems to have a higher workload than he can handle, so the interaction with guests is a bit more limited (compared to the others), but it is okay for me.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hostel and would happily recommend it to other travelers. The location is excellent, with easy access to public transportation, restaurants, cafés, and shops. There are also many interesting attractions nearby, and the surrounding area is enjoyable to explore on foot. The staff are friendly, professional, and very helpful. They are happy to assist with travel planning and provide useful recommendations about the city and local sights. The beds are comfortable and room was spacious. There are also secure lockers where guests can safely store their belongings. The hostel is clean and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel. The location is excellent, with convenient access to public transportation and several great restaurants nearby. The neighborhood itself is charming, welcoming, and very pleasant to explore. The hostel offers a nice breakfast that is perfect for starting the day. Room was spacious, and there was a secure locker in the hallway for storing my backpack and belongings. The shower facilities were clean and well maintained, and there were plenty of showers available in the women's section, so I never had to wait. The staff are friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The owner is absolutely fantastic. He gave me many great recommendations and tips for things to do in Singapore, which made my trip even more enjoyable. Even before my arrival, I received a welcome message with clear instructions on how to get to the hostel, which made everything very easy. The team is genuinely enthusiastic about helping guests and goes above and beyond to assist with anything you might need. Another great benefit is that guests can store their luggage after check-out. I also really appreciated being able to take a shower in the evening after a long day before heading to the airport. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Singapore and would happily stay here again.

Betel box staffs are so friendly They showed me what are the nearby attractions one should visit and nearby currency exchange and food courts to explore and must try Laundry services and bike services. Free breakfast, free coffee all the time, clean bathroom and toilets. Nice and quiet place to stay. I would suggest to all the solo and group travelers to try here in Singapore. Awesome stay worth the money

The best things about the hostel are the staff (incredibly helpful and nice) and the position: it's close to several bus or MRT stop but mostly I loved this neighbourhood, it felt genuine and unique and it's worth staying here just to discover it a bit more or to hear how passionately the staff talks about their town. The rooms are big and neat and the mattress is firm and super comfortable. You can chill in the common room, a nice space where they also serve breakfast (nothing fancy but it's nice).

The only tiny downside is that there is no socket close to the bed so you have to all share one in the middle of the room.

Awesome staff. Good location, 20 minute walk to two MRT stations. Aircon worked well. Lockers provided. I saw the staff cleaning daily. Beds okay. Bathrooms and showers okay. Simple breakfast provided.

No curtains on the beds. The wifi was super weird and confusing to use, I’m not sure why they don’t have normal wifi like everywhere else, it’s the first time I’ve come across wifi like this in all my years of travelling.

I stayed in the 6 single bed dorm. It was clean and maintained well. The washrooms were clean. Everything was good. The staff were friendly and gave me many suggestions on what to visit in Singapore. The common room helped me talk to other travellers and connect with them. I liked the items, mementoes and notes left by other fellow travellers displayed in the common room. It was a good experience.

The CR is not that clean

Simple breakfast but it was really great to have them in the morning. I feel like just waking up to have them every morning.

Everything! The location is streetside, overall clean and well-maintained esp the comfort rooms, there were no water outage, trash issues, or smell issues, everything was just intentionally cleaned and maintained!

azim(zym) was the best receptionist i have ever met. i loved big television and very very cozy saloon. cute big library, board games. location was very nice, it is on a very nice big street full of nice cafes, flowers, colorful houses, nice shops. after finishing this big street you can arrive to the beach. staff was friendly. i loved watching outside from nostalgic windows. and they created very colorful pdf's to send for visitors to help to sum up which best spots are in singapur and how to go.

i think blankets and pillow cases could have more nice fresh smell.

The hostel is located in a very good area in Joo Chiat whit colorful building and many restaurants. The MRT and bus stop is 15 min away by foot. Breakfast is included, which is basic but good enough to stay the day (toast, jam, and coffee)

Sleeping in the dormitory was comfortable but not really restful, the beds don’t have curtains and some of the guests seems to be workers long-staying in the hostel, so they wake up early every day making a lot of noice without consideration for the others.

Staff and owner really cared about your experience in Singapore, the digital pack you receive upon arrival is fantastic and we were given excellent daily recommendations based on our plans for the day. The beds were comfy, lockers big enough to keep your whole bag secure and we liked the aircon at night, open windows and fresh air during the day policy. The cleaner so friendly and kept the room and bathrooms fresh everyday, showers were lovely and hot. Common room was a great place to meet people at breakfast, we went on multiple group days out based on a morning chat and thought the toast, spreads, tea and coffee provided were such a bonus! The local area was really pretty and had some lovely shops, bakeries and restaurants, transport links by bus and rail into the centre were great. We would 100% recommend Betel Box and it would definitely be our hostel of choice when returning to Singapore!

We would’ve preferred a little curtain at the end of each bed to provide more privacy in the 18 bed dorm, but this was easily resolved by hanging a blanket over the rail and would certainly not deter us from staying again.

Tony, the owner was super nice, professional, helpful, and with a lot of good advices. The bed was very comfortable. AC in the rooms. Clean facilities. Security cameras everywhere so it feels like a safe place.

One of the lockers in the mix room was very old and rusted. Water on the toilet as the shower is in the same space.

Tony was an excellent host and shared great tips about Singapore, including his own travel guide to help guests explore the city and its culture. The location was convenient, the hostel was clean, secure, and comfortable, and the overall stay was very pleasant.

The air conditioning in the rooms is turned off from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (as I understood, this is for housekeeping or operational reasons). Since Singapore is quite humid, this may be uncomfortable if you plan to stay and rest in your room during the day. The common area has air conditioning throughout the day, so that's a good alternative.

Staff is super cool and supportive, they are like friends and take care of you. Give you feel home and solved your every problem and concern. I would suggest everybody specially solo travellers and budget traveller you must stay at betel box and enjoy the enriching cosmopolitan atmosphere here.
