Charming historic house
Given historic value..no complaints
Location
Lack of flexibility with serving time of meal included in booking. I had to leave at 7am for a pre-arranged 2.5-hour shuttle ride to another destination in Bohol, and had to depart and continue my journey on an empty stomach.

The cats and the provincial vibes from my childhood.
Inability to bring ingredients to cook our own food
Hello, folks ! When you see my comment that just means I came back to Taiwan 🇹🇼 safe and sound ! It’s arduous to describe my affection of this hostel and how much I appreciate all of the kindness I had received from all the staffs ❤️ ! The room is clean, the food is great, the WiFi is exceptionally good, the staffs are incredibly friendly and it’s near to the port. At the beginning, I was struggled with my itinerary, however Rochilla helps me a lot by introducing the map of Bohol. Also, the guidebook from hostel is written in details if anyone is struggled with your itinerary in Bohol, it will be your most reliable resource ! Thank you Jo-Mar (?? I don’t know whether I spell it write) for lovely pancakes and warm greetings every morning ☀️! The crispiness of the rim of pancake will amaze everyone’s pallet. Thank you Rochilla for sharing so many things in Bohol and introducing me to my trainer of scuba diving and snorkelling, 🤿 he is also one of the best person I’ve ever met ! Last but not least thank you Ray and Gloria, you treats me like your own daughter. Both of you always make sure I will be safe, fed, and clothed. Little do you know how much I love each single moments to spend with you. I shall come back soon ! ✈️ Take care and stay safe ! 🥰❤️
I like everything about this hostel.
It is nice
Nothing
I had a truly wonderful stay at Oasis Balili Heritage Lodge in Bohol. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the unique character of the place. The building itself is a real gem, full of history and beautifully preserved by the same family, which made the experience feel authentic and special. The garden was peaceful and relaxing, and the staff were kind and helpful throughout my stay. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a charming and tranquil stay in Bohol.
There was honestly nothing I didn’t like about my stay. Everything met or exceeded my expectations, and I left feeling very happy with my experience.
The owners and staff were so friendly and made me wish I had longer there. Beds were also very comfortable. Breakfast was also nice and cheap.
The showers weren’t the best.
Very accessible.
Non availability of front officer at night in case certain concerns would arise.
Everything was perfect
We got to drop our luggage one day earlier. The staff is very friendly, helpfull and approachable. The location is right near the port and relatively quiet within the city. They arranged our breakfast earlier upon request due to our boarding time, which was appreciated. The shower had hot water, though intermittendly hot and cold.
The beds are small, I am 1.89m and could not lie on my stomach. The matrass consists of multiple blocks of foam, not uncomfortable but not ideal either. The blankets are thick and more suitable for on the couch or in a movie theater. When asking for normal blankets or, there weren't any, so we got elastic covers for the matrass as blankets.. They were very helpful and tried to solve our issues so credits to them on that front. However, it felt like a strange way to stay in a hotel.
Tutta
Accueil, aide location scooter.
everything was great! very helpful and accommodating staff. they upgraded my booking, too. lovely property!
no bidet :(
It’s an ancient and beautiful property.
Not kitchen to share. Not AC.
Stunningly beautiful property and the grounds! They preserved the historical heritage, it’s like going back in time. Thank you!
There was nothing I did not like.
It's an incredibly interesting old house. I had a small but cozy single room. It was very comfortable with fleece sheets. The shared bathrooms were surprisingly good, and had unusually good water pressure for the Philippines, but cold water only. The Aircon worked fine. It takes a while to get cold, but that's only because they do so in old houses. One of the staff members was so friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. Good breakfast was included. Good WiFi. Nice outdoor sitting area.
Maybe I was just unlucky, but the service level was a bit hit or miss, depending on who was on duty. I couldn't lock my door from the inside, just a broken hinge there. No water dispenser or kettle. The bar is closed on Sundays. There's no WiFi in the bar, but unfortunately my Smart sim data didn't work there either.
we like the old vibe of the place.. its amazing that the staff/owner was able to maintain its structure after all these years.. the place is clean, easily accessible, we love the plants around the lodge and its close to the port where we off boarded
Great staff and clean
No a/c so very hot
✅ Close to the heart of Tagbilaran ✅ Cultural and heritage hotel (the vibe of the hotel takes me back to the good old days) ✅ Surrounded by nature and trees ✅ Friendly staff
Its cozy I like the vibe
It’s dusty
- close to the harbor - chilled outdoor area - large locker - Toilet paper and soap available - Mosquito protection and curtain on the bed - Wifi - Good air conditioning - 4-person dorms - Quiet area
- No shower gel / shampoo - Not enough drinking water available (mostly empty, as there was always only one small bottle) - Scooter rental not good! At reception we were told 500php for 2 days when I asked. Then we had to wait for the scooter and after waiting forever they wanted 700php... - Bed very small (not ideal for tall people)
Great place to stay. Beautiful heritage house with an interesting history. Very relaxing and very welcoming. Stayed longer than originally I originally intended. Excellent breakfast which was not included in the cost of the room.
Location,staff en everything was ok
Nothing
It was a very nice experience to stay in this old, true colonial house that was important in the past for Philippino and Japanese people during the IIWW.
A perfect place to stay
Friendly staff, clean , great bar
Very heavy wooden doors into rooms that wake you up. Needs sorting 👍
The old building has wonderful character. Staff friendly and helpful. Clean and quiet, yet central to the town.
Staff members are helpful and make sure that you're comfortable and safe during your stay.
Really special place. It's in a historical building built by the owner's family. It's very near the port in an active and interesting part of the city. Really friendly owners and staff. I had a very nice stay here.
Gorgeous spacious old house, lovely gardens, very comfortable private single room with good AC, and the reception guy was very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful building, great location, staff is amazing! Great breakfast as well!
Excellent wifi in the room. Breakfast as usual. Very quiet place, not far from the pier. Nice garden.
I only stayed one night as my plane arrived at 8:30 pm. "Deluxe" room : this word is a non-sense ! For 33 € I would have expected more ! But we are in the Phlilippines where "value for money" is an unknown expression. The room is located at the ground floor similar to a basement. All windows are with capiz shell, I didn't try to open one. Smallish room with a four poster bed and a mosquito net but this is just for decoration as the top is missing : not a problem as there were no mosquitoes during my stay. Shower : I couldn't manage to mix hot with cold water, therefore either it was boiling or cold. Absolutely awful mattress : very soft but more likely worn out : I kept on rolling to the center hole. Tiny and almost invisible little ants in the bed but as I was tired, this didn't disturb me too much. If you want to save 500 pesos or even more, the Sun Avenue Pension is a far better choice : they are not in Booking but rooms are huge and very clean (968.8684770).
- the house is a tourist attraction in itself, a building with a lot of history and old charm - the staff are friendly, helpful with directions, and prepre tasty breakfasts
- it is not very clean. There were quite a few spiderwebs in my room and also a cockroach (which the staff took care of when I asked) - the neighbors are quite loud until late in the evening with music/events/speakers - as in many areas of Bohol, people burn the weeds, so there is a lot of smoke and poor air quality
Great location in the middle of Tagbilaran city inside a beautiful old building on a pretty idilic property. Staff and team is great and full of information to help you enjoy the island.
The cat was walking near glasses/dishes everywhere
The staff were very lovely! So helpful and very warm. The guesthouse was steeped in history and it had a cute charm about it. It is also super close (15 min walk) to the port which was very convenient for me.
The walls were very thin (timber construction) so the noise outside was hard to escape. A loud next door neighbour singing karaoke until late and barking dogs. The ceiling fan in the dorm room wasn’t terribly effective either, but the receptionist kindly provided me with an extra plug in fan which helped a bit. I didn’t sleep well at all though.
Excellent place to stay. A beautiful heritage home and a passion project of Gloria and her family. Lots of character, and a nice homely ambience. Highly recommend.
The location is great, and the price is good.
The wooden sliding door needs a little bit of fixing. It is quite hard to open/close.
Staff were nice
Full of mosquitos and bugs. Shared toilet wasn't nice. The building was old and the room looked awful. Better value places nearby.
Lovely old house, the owner was very sweet, staff were lovely and happy, singing and smiling!
It was perfect -Needed a kettle outside the kitchen so I could boil my own water!😜
Close to harbour, friendly staff.
Basic facilities, not always hot water.
The location was lovely. The house was set in a lovely garden.
The beds were a little tired. They could do with an upgrade. The netting and bed curtains were very old and didn't quite do the job very well.
We love the rustic appeal of the property. Staff are friendly and very accommodating
The water in the bathroom floor does not drain properly causing the room to smell musty.
Very nice 4 beds rooms. Aircon working very well. Nice bathrooms always clean. Water refill. Kind and nice staff. Huge and nice common area. Close to the pier.
Sometimes there were ants on the floor on the bathroom area
Its a really nice place located close to the port so its a good option if you have to take the ferry
The room was very hot because there was only one fan… i asked them for another fan and they lent me one more
Toilet and shower room are very satisfactory
10 mins from the port, a beautiful converted house and most importantly amazing staff! They were very helpful and accommodating, best hostel I stayed in the Philippines!
Nothing
Great stay here, I arrived late from the ferry and they accommodated me so well, kept me updated and replied to my messages quickly. You saved me from being stuck in the middle of the night, as a solo girl travelling in super great full.
