The curated experience of the wilderness, friendly staff and great food
Think more towels could have been provided. We only received one face towel. Also more mosquito repellents would be great
Super environmentally and really heaven
I like it
Pepper Trail Wayanad Pool Villa is a beautiful property, and our stay was excellent in most respects. The villa was well-maintained, the surroundings were peaceful, and the hospitality was outstanding. Special thanks to Mr. Yedu and Abhil for their warmth and helpfulness throughout our stay. Kishore who took on us on the Jeep Safari is a wonderful person who genuinely seems to love nature. We had a wonderful time just sitting and watching the birds by the lake.
Unfortunately, a guest in the neighboring villa flew a drone and filmed us in our private pool villa area. This was a serious violation of our privacy and left us extremely distressed. While the issue was reported, I was disappointed that the management response was not firmer. Mr. Hari, as manager, had the authority to address the situation decisively but chose a more " we are not responsible for this "approach, which was a little bit of a let down. Future guests booking the pool villas should be aware that privacy may not be adequately protected if neighboring guests use drones. Apart from this significant concern, everything else about the property was excellent.
Wonderful Service and well maintained rooms. WiFi worked!
Nothing
A boutique luxury stay with limited villas and lush greenery around. We absolutely loved waking up to the sound of nature, birds chirping, peacocks flying near by. The peace and quite is unmatched. There is truly nothing quite like stepping away from the daily grind to find a pocket of absolute silence and to get lost in the nature. Very well maintained place and very friendly staff.
May be more options on the menu for lunch and dinner. But whatever they did serve was delicious so no complaints.
The property was like different world where full of birds and trees. Calm and peaceful environment. We enjoyed our stay.
Food could be better
The room and location were really good. Since the property is surrounded by estates and greenery, The room service was excellent throughout the stay. The pool suite was a bit expensive per night; however, the overall experience made it completely worth it, and we have no regrets. For anyone looking for a peaceful stay in the woods or amidst estates near Sulthan Bathery, this is definitely one of the best choices, especially with its convenient location close to the town center. The accommodation also offers a few activities during the stay, which adds to the experience. The food tasted amazing as well — even though the menu was limited, they did a fantastic job with the dishes they served. Highly recommended to try the food if you’re not interested in going out. Would love to visit again with family and friends
a few flies and small insects occasionally entered the washroom area, but it wasn’t a major issue. the order needs to be placed 2-3hours prior which was a bit frustrating.
Pepper Trail is honestly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. It’s tucked away in this massive 400-acre estate full of coffee trees and lush forest, with these incredible villas right in the middle of it all. I took my wife there as a birthday surprise, and she was absolutely blown away. We split our time between a villa and a treehouse. The villas are huge, with big rooms and balconies that look straight into the woods. But the treehouse was next level—it’s about 40 feet up, and you really feel like you’re living among the branches. At night, it’s perfectly quiet and dark, and we even saw a ton of fireflies, which was such a magical experience. The staff were wonderful and really went out of their way to take care of us. They organized a jeep tour of the plantation where we spotted some cool wildlife, including a giant squirrel, and the tea tasting they set up was a really unique touch. We also grabbed some of their bikes to explore the estate on our own, which was a blast. As for the food, it’s a little pricey, but honestly, it was so tasty that we didn't mind. If you're looking for a getaway, I can't recommend this place enough.
Well maintained rooms. Lovely pool
Noisy at night with wild animals creating scrambling sounds in the balcony area. Limited run of the mill food menu.
Location was excellent, just off the main road but opens up-to a 250 acre plantation. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Loved the property for the quality of stay it provides.
Food was a little disappointing considering the hefty price but would definitely come back again.
The property is in a beautiful setting in a tea/coffee. We stayed in one of the treehouses and we loved it. It was well designed and comfortable with a good shower. The access to the tree house was safe and easy.. I was worried it would be wobbly but felt safe and solid
Nothing
Smuk beliggenhed og dejlig villa.
Ingenting.
The place is amazing, booking villa will give you a lot of privacy
Well maintained green sanctuary
Everything was perfect
This is a wonderful resort located in a wonderful location. We stay in the tree house. The experience was very good. The staff was invaluable. The resort has many facilities like a swimming pool, a spa.
There was no hot water in the spa room. We expected hot water after the spa, but it was disappointing. During night time, we should close everything and sit inside the room as there are a lot of mosquitoes.
The serene location, privacy, lush greenery and some amazing food. We stayed in the pool villa, one of the best weekends we could ask for.
The bed is too plush, might not be suitable for many
Beautiful setting with properties, clean, comfortable and in a very traditional style. Very peaceful, great staff and food. I learned lots about tea and coffee- the pace was very chilled with lots or little to do as we felt.
Excellent place to unwind with the nature! Extremely peaceful and tranquil. The staff are very friendly and polite. The activities like plantation tour, bird watching and tea tasting are well thought out.

Amazing peaceful side trip from my business trip to Bangalore. Wonderful food, service and optional included activities. Highly recommend. Staff were excellent. They helped me arrange car service to and from the airport. My favorite was the morning nature and bird walk with Kishore who is very knowledgeable. They arranged an Ayurvedic massage and steam for me too!
A hidden oasis nestled in a lush plantation! Impeccably maintained, with incredibly friendly staff, this retreat is the perfect escape. Truly a slice of paradise!
This is a beautifully maintained property set in a tea, coffee and pepper plantation. Only a few rooms, so not busy, and the most beautiful pool. We had originally booked a tree house, which was very special but I got a bit of a vertigo attack, so the lovely staff promptly and with kindness and no fuss moved us to a villa which was huge and incredibly comfortable (and on terra firma). The 8.00 am jeep tour of the estate is definitely worth doing. We have travelled all over India and this is right up there in terms of location, staff and accommodation. Breakfast is taken in the very attractive reception area, where you could eat dinner too if you liked. We had it in our room and the food was fine. Would return, for longer, in a heartbeat. Managed with style.
Everything was lovely.
Stunning property in the middle of a tea & coffee plantation. Waking up to the glorious symphony of bird sound in the mornings was a joy. We stayed in the plantation room which was large and super comfortable with a huge balcony overlooking the natural forest. Food at the restaurant is delicious and the restaurant setting is magical - surrounded by lush green forest - the entire property is exquisite & so relaxing. The staff are all so friendly and helpful - always service with a smile!..We want to return again for much longer next time!
Can’t think of anything
We loved the location, the property, the staff was very friendly and supportive and food was amazing too and was better than outside food. Extra activities like trail visit and teat tasting was amazing with excellent knowledge.
We couldn’t find anything bad
Every year i am staying a few days on my trip in India- it' s a real paradise from all points of view - so wonderful and extraordinary!
Green, lush property. Lots of birdsong. Excellent food!
Beautiful property in a lush, green landscape. Kind, helpful staff and fun on-property activities including a plantation tour with a great guide
Didn’t actively tell us about the facilities (pool, spa etc.)
Infinity pool was stunning, Heritage property (MacKenzie Suite) and excellent tour around the plantation. Staff were all lovely and particularly excellent was the guy who takes the activities- he was extremely knowledgeable.
Nothing not to like. It was a bit quiet (not many other guests) but they had had some cancellations due to news about a landslide. However, this was about 60k away and the property was well outside of that zone.
just amazing.. cozy homely food
nothing significant
Location, Greenery, Comfy beds
We found a dead centipede in the pool, so felt pool should be maintained properly
Surrounded by lot of tree
No have much choice of food
Absolutely stunning setting, beautiful room, amazing staff - loved everything about it
Nothing
Room with private pool
Food and Restaurant
Liked the ambience and villa designs and it's amazing resort ..main thing is the hospitality ...would like to give 10/10
Nothing to mention
We stayed at in the firs floor of the Old bunglow at Pepper trail. It was a huge spacious level, with lovely greenery on all sides. Loved the room and the balconies. The infinity pool was amazing, you can see the rolling greens and hear all the bird sounds while enjoying the pool. Some great bird walks. Kishore, the resident naturalist gave us some amazing bird watching tours around the plantation. Food was great! Management was super helpful and made our stay really enjoyable, thank you.
Hospitality, polite & courteous staff, natural surroundings, plantation jeep tour, tea tasting session, huge spacious and private villa
Taste of food served during dinner may be slightly improved
This property is right in the middle of the forest. The fact that you’re closer to nature feels soothing to the eyes as well as to the heart. It’s a perfect place to unwind. The stay comes with a few recreational activities at the property. They offer a decent variety of food for in-house guests. The infinity plunge pool overlooking the forest was perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunset.
Amazing staffs to make sure of our well being, the stay was for a day , though mesmerizing . had a good staycation with my dear family . will visit next time with more family members. Thanks team .
nothing peculiar to pin point. it was a short stay to find any flaws
Pepper Trail is a glorious place. I can’t speak highly enough of it. Our pool villa was just fantastic and we made full use of the pool as it is heated to a nice temperature. It was incredible being in the middle of the forest. You might think it could be claustrophobic but it wasn’t at all. Watching the monkeys work their way across the trees in front of our villa , and one come down to sit at the edge of our pool, was magical. We did lots of walks around the property and nearby areas. It is very quiet on the small roads and the tracks through rice fields. In addition, Pepper Trail has a naturalist who will take you on walks and help you with birdwatching. Gayitri is very knowledgeable and a lovely person. All the staff are kind and helpful and the food is delicious.
Everything about Pepper Trail was amazing. As soon as I entered the gates It felt so tranquil. I stayed in a premium villa, which is really large and airy and has a veranda for watching the birds during the day or just relaxing. The pool area is so peaceful, surrounded by tropical flowers & plants. All the staff went out of their way to help with anything, they were very knowledgeable about all the wildlife, plants and spices. The food here is great too, if I had one small quibble, it’s that you always got way too much food. I would highly recommend Pepper Trail.
Nothing
Very friendly and caring staff , the tree house is amazing, funny friendly monkeys come sometimes visit in the balcony , views are wonderful surrounded by tea and coffee plantations, amazing food , very nice pool with great view
Nothing
Very nice and peaceful place to spend
May the floor can be more clean
Our stay at the Pepper Trail was absolutely outstanding. I would go so far to say this was one of my favourite holidays ever. The first thing that made our trip so memorable was the incredible location and accommodation. All the villas are spaced out so you feel like you have the place to yourselves. The facilities were exceptional. The pool is the most beautiful pool I have ever used! My villa had a huge balcony from which I could really relax and enjoy the jungle surroundings. It was huge. The pictures do not do it justice at all. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. So lush peaceful and tranquil. I was there for five days and we had breakfast lunch and dinner there daily. This was the best food I have ever had. The variety on offer for me as a vegetarian was wonderful. What made our stay so memorable was the incredible staff. They were absolutely superb. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly helpful, smiling, engaging. They couldn’t have done more for us. The service was second to none.
Nothing.
Stunning property in the heart of a coffee, pepper and tea plantation, elegant and sympathetic to its surroundings. The instant you arrive you feel relaxed.
There is nothing, you cannot help but love this place.
Ambience
Stunning room , we stayed in a pool villa which was amazing. The food was excellent. We are in the room every evening . Staff could not do enough to help you . The jeep tour was fantastic and so informative . There was no alcahol but the staff drove out to get us a bottle of wine . The local Indian red which I have to say was a really good wine .
No alcahol so if you like a drink stop off to buy , there is a fridge in the room .
Like the villa . Villa was perfect!!
Tree house we hated it . Not a big fan of tree house because no AC in the tree house & they just give one fan . It was tooo hot inside and too many bugs . Even bugs are falling on our bed from the ceiling. Requested for another fan still it was hot . Then light is very dim. One day @ tree house and hated it in all way.
The location was incredibly beautiful, especially the pool area. Staff was accommodating and very helpful! We loved the lunch and breakfast. The area is full of hikes!
Amazing accommodation, located in the middle of huge spice, coffee and tea plantations, managed by the owners. Stayed in the Mackenzie suite, really cool suite, breathing colonial history. Really amazing place, nice food, very polite and approachable staff. The infinity pool is has the best view I’ve ever had from a pool. Of course not cheap, but worth every penny.
Nothing really. Having lunch and dinner at the restaurant is not cheap (750rs pp), but for us (who just wanted to relax at the resort for 2 days) manageable.
Pepper Trail exceeded our expectations in terms of luxury and attention to detail by every single member of the staff. From the way that the heritage Mackenzie suite has been 'lovingly restored' with handpicked furniture and decor to the landscaping and green cover of plantations, the quality of food and hot beverages served to the conversations with nature experts on the property, we truly lapped it all up. Most of all, we appreciated the key ingredient of thoughtfulness they added to create a memorable and comfortable stay for us.
The only suggestion we'd have is for the restaurant to enable an à la carte option in the menu for those who may not need as much quantity as served per person within the fixed set. That would help in reducing food waste too!
Secluded, clean and large rooms
Food was not good with limited choices, could have more in-house activities , tv only in selected room categories

A beautiful secluded property in the middle of a plantation, surrounded by beautiful nature. Comfortable rooms, unique tree houses and delicious food. The staff are warm and hospitable and ensure that all your needs are met. Highly recommend. Worth every penny.
The staffs are very kind and accommodating
I think the booking needs to have an option to book similar rooms
the breakfast was good
the lunch and dinner could have been more tastier, it was too bland.
I stayed for 2 days..1 day in tree house and 1 day in pool villa..tree house is an experience..choose it only for the experience..sleep is going to be disturbed with the frequent movement of Asian civets..( Most likely)..pool villa is luxury..infinity pool with the view towards the Plantation is mesmerizing..overall must visit resort in Wayanad..can relate it to tall trees in munnar...
Nothing that bothers..
We spent three nights at Pepper Trail and haven't stopped recommending it to family and friends! The setting is stunning - green and lush vegetation on a coffee (and tea) estate that seems to go a long way. Food was excellent - we had dinner there every night and the vegetarian fixed menu was tasty, varied and beautifully presented. The jeep ride through the estate was informative and great fun, as was the bird walk with Gayathri. All the staff were helpful and friendly. A peaceful and relaxing stay in a remarkably beautiful setting - what more could you ask for?
The jets in the pool villa were not working but the staff fixed it for us .
