Friendly hotel, ideal for families. Good breakfast, nice pools. Vibrant atmosphere.
Not as many opportunities to relax and just swim in the sea as at other places but the hotel offers a daily shuttle to Grand Anse that can be booked. Treatments were on the pricey side of reasonable.
Lots of attention to detail. Very friendly staff and very clean compared to other resorts in Grenada. The resort was also very close to SGU.
No beach access would be the only flaw but it makes up with lots of pools
The Turn up service was a good touch, rum and cake, lovely! Room was good and resort was quaint, clean and well maintained.
Breakfast was ok, could have a better choices and serving options.
The environment and pools
The restaurant wasn’t what I expected needed some more variety of food
Easy location for taxis and to the airport. Cocoa pods were like a small apartment which was nice
Our shower water was cold but fixed! Also lots of bugs but that’s a nature things not really the hotels fault
The villa was nicely laid out
The pools were filthy
I love the cleanliness, the spacious. Rooms and the service at reception and also the ambiance of the resort. It was great value for your money, the free shuttle service to the beaches is very thoughtful. Breakfast was great, but improvement in the pastries freshness and variety needs to be addressed, and also there should be more fresh bananas. Lastly, the Breakfast staff wasn't smiling enough and the male waiter was only attentive to the white guest.
Everything
Everything
I enjoyed my stay at this resort and they tried to cater for everything.
While the resort was only a short ride to and from the Airport. It was not walking distance into St George's and we frequently had to taxi it into Nd out off St George's.
Generally ok
The toilet had a clog and it took long to get serviced. Then it was left dirty with stains after unclogging. For dinner: Two of our orders were chicken. The barbecue chef was unpleasant with us and loud to explain that the pork and chicken was on the same grill. When we mentioned that we had an allergy he kept on asking in a very unpleasant tone if we didn't tell the waitress. My boyfriend was vegetarian and the waitress said he could have the salads from the buffet, the barbecue chef told him that he has to pay additional for it and we indicated that its not a problem for us and he kept explaining loudly while we were taking thr food. It was very embarrassing. Then when we got the chicken breast (two orders) the quantities were inconsistent for both plates.
The location was perfect. I would recommend changing up breakfast option daily
Sooo many pools. The bed was extremely comfortable and the check in process was very easy.
Everything was wonderful
Great staff, great rooms. Dodgy Dock was a very good bar restaurant. Local cats very friendly.
Our only complaint was that we were the furthest room from the front desk. Other than that we were very happy with it.
Location and amenities
The mosquitoe bites
A fun and colourful resort close to Grenada airport. We stayed here for a few nights at the start of our trip to Grenada and really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and reasonably comfortable; it had nice doors out with direct pool access and even had a small kitchenette. The grounds of the hotel are well thought out and it's nice to have the choice of pools, each with different views and vibes! The restaurant is great and we had some delicious meals, "Street Food Wednesday" was a highlight of our trip! There was also a wide range of tours and activities; we did a full island tour which was really worth it.
There are limited amenities near this hotel - other than the university, there is no town/restaurants/beach to walk to. The hotel was great and organizing taxis however and there is a free shuttle to the beach!
The location was close to SGUniversity and the airport. Resort amenities were great and loved all the pools. Room was comfortable. Staff was very helpful. Quiet setting!! Breakfast buffet is well done.
Bath towels were like sandpaper. I recommend to load up on the softer beach/pool towels. Bed was not comfortable. On site restaurant was ok. Could have used some more "critter" control!!
Room size
Light downstairs
Room wasn’t ready and didn’t compensate in any
Couldn’t have a late check out and can’t help me in any ways
Comfort,food,location,etc
I would have like to have bed side mats
Location
No exhausts in bathroom Bath door didn’t lock Breakfast was ok
Beautiful scenery, great access to water excursions, lovely room. 4 pools- great options, Free shuttle to the 2 beaches- Grand Anse & BBC Beach Daddy Docks Weds- fantastic eve with street food vendors, live music then a DJ in the eve- brilliant, social night. Staff- some were lovely, naturally chatty and just seemingly easier to naturally reason with.
I found this place unnecessarily difficult. Breakfast is buffet but yet we're served- unnecessary Water pressure was shockingly bad- this is something I typically love about hotels, were asked to reduce length of showers, I didn't experience this in my 2 other stays on the isle, prior to True Blue. Staff so/so- When I asked for something I was met with attitudes that felt like I was putting them out. E.g. I asked for beach towels, I was then questioned at length about whether I had any already. I regretted asking! I didn't have any nor am I in the business of theft. WhatsApp group- you can be added to a WhatsApp group to learn of daily activities I, personally, think this is horrific. As someone who likes to switch off, receiving daily notifications is my worst nightmare, there's also a GDPR concern (I don't know the Grenadian equivalent of data protection) but this is an awful idea! Invest in an app, or a up-to-date notice board. The notifications are sporadic, changing, time corrections all adding to unnecessary notifications. I, personally, wouldn't stay again. I'm cognisant that I stayed here after my stay at the Royalton which is considered world class but service is everything. This didn't meet my personal, customer service standards. It's close to the uni, those with kids I'd recommend.
Close to the University and with a Diving center
Need refurbished
The staff and atmosphere and the energy it gives off. The place was clean and comfortable.. very enjoyable stay and would stay there again but for longer.
The only issue I had was via booking.com I booked for three people 2 adults and a child age 14 which then the booking.com confirmed this as three adults and a rate for our booking confirmed. When we got to the hotel they said since my child was 14 it's classed as an adult as over 12 years of age, which I agreed with but they had to charge me for another room for my child even though booking.com confirmed my booking for a room for 3 adults.
More local/ nature based. Grounds were well kept.
They said they did not have my reservation when I arrived. Then they called me a day prior to my checkout to say their system showed I was checking out that day. I had to be charged another day for their mistake. Additionally, the rooms were not clean.
I took myself away for a birthday treat and couldn’t have asked for more! There was a great variety of food, and I really enjoyed the themed night on Wednesday too! I did check out the container park nearby too, which has a great variety also. Staff were great, especially; Calvin, Arillo, Joy, Trevon, Leisha. (Please forgive me if I’ve spelt those incorrectly!) I loved the onsite boutique, and sitting on the balcony soaking up the view! Room was clean and very spacious.
Having to come back. :(
Nice location with wide range of foods
Bed was very uncomfortable Wifi seldom worked
This was a lovely hotel, spacious and in lovely gardens - particularly enjoyed watching the resident iguanas! The yoga studio was lovely - calm, clean, spacious and quiet. I attended classes both days we were they and both teachers offered excellent tuition. The room was a good size, nice to have a small kitchen area to make coffee etc.
It was a shame there was not a beach area, but they do offer a shuttle service to Great Anse Beach.
Close to everything, convenient, fun, safe, clean, amazing service and staff.
The breakfast was amazing, quiet and beautiful property. The staff was very friendly as well.
So many things! The staff are excellent, the food is great, the position of the hotel in a quiet part of Grenada (near to the airport) is brilliant. Superb
The only SMALL problem is that the “in room” WiFi is very slow. It’s OK in the lobby and restaurant/bar, but frustrating in the room (Waterfront Suites)
Lovely character filled boutique hotel with expansive grounds. I'll happily stay there again
Our driver Calvin, front desk clerks! Awesome!
Food in restaurant was old chicken, horrible!
Everything’s
Breakfast very nice with many choices
More hot water for showers
Comfort , staff
Al
Staff was great, nice and accommodating. The rum bar bartendat was such a joy.
The food could be a lot better. The staff is great though.
The property itself was great. Nice rooms, decor and facilities e.g. bakery, gym, yoga studio, boutique. The balcony was also a nice space which I enjoyed relaxing on away from the noisy crowd at the pool. The staff member called Sharon in the True Bluetique was friendly and helpful, but she was the exception. I also like that it felt distinctly Caribbean. The breakfast was good. Coffee machine in the room was also nice.
This is the 2nd time I have stayed in this hotel. The first was 8 years ago. I thought the service was bad then and have not changed my mind. My room was not ready until more than 2 hrs after the check in time. No apology given. The wi-fi was terrible. I attempted to have lunch in the Dodgy Dock. There was 1 member of staff to cover all tables. It took half an hour for her to take my order. After an hour my lunch and the glass of water that I had asked for had still not arrived so I got up and left. Again there was no apology for the delay.
The staff give you a warm hospitality greeting. Great family resort. Good local food and entertainment. Regular housekeeping. Playing area for children.
Visitation too short
Nice pools and good location
There was multiple cockroach’s in our room
The staff were very helpful, pools and room well kept.
Nothing
Everything
The room was spacious and clean. The shower was lovely. I liked the 4 pools and the availability of day beds and sun loungers around the pool. Some staff were really polite and friendly.
The majority of staff were friendly and helpful, however, there were a few who were rude. The service can be extremely slow and the availability of food and drink items is not great, yet service charge is added to every bill. The policy for booking a late check-out should be reviewed, should not have to wait until the morning of check-out to get confirmation. The charge for oil on linen should have been itemised, as there is no proof of the damage nor that it was an accurate charge. Majority of cocktails contain way too much alcohol, and clearly are not measured (some may like that), I struggled to enjoy any cocktail I bought as it was too strong, despite, requesting not too much. Street Food Wednesday- the tables for walk-ins should be reviewed, looks very derogatory just putting people in the back with cheap tables and chairs. House of Bakery- was closed when it should have been open (according to website). Bins in room- should have a bin with a plastic bad for food waste. The soundproof for rooms was non-existent, can hear neighbours next door and their conversations.
The pools
Nothing
The location of the resort was ideal. Close enough to the airport and a town. Quiet and lively at times. Easy to get around. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved our room. We had a balcony facing the ocean. Good breakfast every morning was included with our stay.
The flies. They had an issue with flies in the dining area. Staff did their best to cover everything to ensure the food was safe but management really needs to address the problem.
We loved our rooms. Premium quality. We thought reception staff were really helpful and kind. As were the cleaning staff. Restaurant staff were sadly forgetful inaccurate and the quality of the food was poor. There was no poolside service which meant a very long walk to the bar for drinks or snacks. But the shuttle to the beach was excellent.
Staff was warm and friendly. The included breakfast was fabulous! Close to the airport, close to the beach, plenty of fun activities available. Gave us the "real" Grenadian experience.
Some of the facilities needed work...(ladies shower in the marina area wasn't working, gate needed fixing and not all fans in dining area were functioning.) Unfortunately the road into the resort was under construction during our stay
The villas are extremely spacious and lovely. We booked the 2 bedroom villa which came with living, dining, and kitchen. It also had a plunge pool. Although my boys mostly spent their time in the outdoor pool.
Very disappointed that the common room (living room) tv was not connected to the cable. So to watch sports on tv we all had to go to the bedroom, which was not conducive. The staff at Aquanauts were not helpful. My husband went there on a Wednesday morning to inquire about diving. They sent him back saying there was no diving. However, the very next day and the day after people were going on diving trips.
I loved the breakfast. The fact that there was such a wide variety of items to chose from.
There were a lot of birds trying to steal the food from our plates!
Grounds were lovely. Pools were nice. Certain staff were friendly (housekeeping, grounds keeping, tour desk). Rooms were spacious w/balcony. The location was fine if you don't mind not being on the beach. The resort has a nice "islandy" vibe. Small & intimate.
I hate to have to write a negative review, but I want to be honest. The front desk staff were neither helpful nor friendly from day one. My husband & I arrived very late at night. The front desk staff acted as if we were "bothering them." Not welcoming or helpful. We hoped this was a one-off, but sadly, this theme lasted thru our 5-night stay. We go to breakfast our 1st morning & we are given an attitude by the woman preparing our eggs. No "good morning".. nothing (this happened following morning as well). We found the servers at the on-site restaurant the same... disinterested. Again, as if we are "bothering" them. We even had issues getting condiments! I asked the server for ketchup & she literally stood over me while I poured, then took it right back! It was like pulling teeth to get mayonnaise! The same w/ getting room & pool towels. We had to hound the front desk & wait way too long for any extra towels. It just wasn't right. The pool areas were nice but dead. There was no music (even at low volume) at pools or pool bar. Manager on duty said there should be music on but it didn't happen. So not much "atmosphere" at pool/bar. During our stay, we voiced our concerns to front desk staff & manager on duty. We didn't see a change. Finally, on our 2nd to last day, we got to speak w/General Manger, Kevin. He was very nice & seemed interested in our concerns. He said he would look into compensation (thru Booking or otherwise) for our troubles throughout the stay. He said he would get back to us before we left. We did not hear back & have not received any compensation for our lost time & aggrevation. It was disappointing, to say the least. There are many nice things about this resort, but unfortunately for us, it was overshadowed by all the negatives.
The pool,breakfast
The staff was rude an very Unprofessional
Loved the views of the bay at breakfast. I ate pancakes everyday. They were okay. Could stand to be more fluffy and lighter. I thoroughly enjoyed all the theme nights for dinner.
The ticket thing for Streetfest Wednesday. You should be able to pay a set price for the food and not deal with purchasing tickets. I personally do not carry cash on me.
Very lovely self-contained small resort. Waterside restaurant/bar was great.
No beach nearby--but several pools on the property.
Great hotel with an arty Caribbean vibe. Friendly staff. Good food in the restaurant but it could do with more variety for the lunchtime menu.
For us we prefer to be by the beach so this was a different sort of holiday for us. The hotel has some lovely pools. It's a shame there wasn't more times available for the beach shuttle bus - 9am! We are on holiday so we didn't want to rush about just to get the bus.
Very comfortable and quiet room. Couldn't hear the music from the Dodgy Dock. Easy walk to the Container Park for good food and drink.
Breakfast was disappointing. The fruit was always melon and watermelon and the melon in particular was flavourless. The Street Food night was horrendously busy.
The staff was amazing. They always had a smile and great positive energy. The coco tea was very good. I also enjoyed the cinnamon and bayleaf tea. We ordered room service and the food was delicious! It actually was better than what we expected.
The air conditioner was making a dripping sound throughout the night. There was a lot of mosquito or sandfly. I think they should spray the area to combat that issue. I as well as the people I was with got a lot of mosquito bites on the premises.
Friendly and lively in the evenings. The bed was nicely decorated for our birthday and a bottle of wine was left in the room
Pillows were too soft
The quietness wig the location was good Pools were quiet
Food choice at breakfast and dinner was very limited and basic. Improvement is needed here I would say Most staff in restaurant/ serving buffet food were miserable The cocktail pool bar doesn’t open till 11am and the attendant Sky was downright rude and miserable. There is no beach and the water is dirty so access into sea is non existent and you wouldn’t go as water is dirty Attention to detail is very much lacking. The Dodgie Dock is an untidy mess area and the walk way round to rooms is ramshackle and messy around the scuba areas
I like the fact that it was located in a quiet peaceful country side area. There wasn’t too much noice or traffic
They didn’t provide enough towels we had to ask. The water wasn’t too warm in the morning time it got warm during the afternoon.
Beautiful grounds with multiple pools, a chocolate shop, a play area, nice generous breakfast. The staff were helpful with a room change and other things. The room was a gorgeous split level with bedroom up top and 2 balconies overlooking the smaller pool. Really comfortable although you needed to go round back to get in. Helpful to have a gated parking area as we had a car for part of it. Couldn’t be more convenient to the airport since it’s a stone’s throw.
We were assigned a room that didn’t match our booking. We were lucky they switched us from a queen room to the king suite that we booked but it was in the far back of the cocoa pods area. The restaurant we may have hit on an off night but only went once because it was some special “galentines” related menu that had chocolate on everything including ribs and risotto. There was no alternative. Staff was kind of grumpy at the dodgy dock. Also keep in mind that the place is at the end of the runway so you will hear big jets taking off sometimes early in the morning.
Staff accommodated our request for a bottom level unit, twin beds and had golf cart available for my senior Mom!
It is hilly, built into the hillside so can be a challenge for older folks or those w mobility issues.
Some of the staff were brilliant - waitress Hustel and Rum Shop gentleman Sky, for example. Loved all the pools. Great way to end our holiday.
Some of the staff were a bit grumpy - the person on reception and the person running the restaurant.
Wednesday night entertainment
No dead bolt on door. No comforter only 2 thin sheets. No vegan options for lunch. No late check out.
We loved the whole holiday experience at True Blue Boutique Resort, the breakfasts, lunches & dinners all take place on the dock built over the sea and it was lovely to be right on the sea at every meal. The staff were all super friendly & helpful, the food excellent, the room service professionally undertaken. There are four separate pools with the largest having a bar & a children's water slide. There are entertainment events on various nights, the street food stalls with live band on every Wednesday night was our favourite. The Hotel has tons of character with different styles of buildings so couldn't feel less 'corporate' like and the Aquanauts Dive Centre is on the Hotel grounds so very convenient for a diver or snorkeller. This has been a family owned Hotel for 25 years and I really enjoyed talking to the owner, Russ, and to fantastic Reservations Manager, Kisha. Both were a delight to meet.
We didn't like having to leave...
Actually got to the venue only to be told my reservation had been cancelled it was a good thing I had both confirmation on my phone otherwise we wouldn't have had any accommodation. Not nice after a long trip
Everything about the resort, front desk, and cleaning services were excellent . Special mention of Alisha and Jared for excellent front desk service.
Managing the service at the restaurant needs improvement. Need variation with breakfast
