Ein traumhaftes Fleckchen Erde in einer wunderschönen, gepflegten kleinen Anlage, die sich mit ihren ortstypischen Materialien wunderbar in die Natur einfügt. Das Personal ist herzlich, aufmerksam und liest einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab. Die Safaris waren perfekt organisiert und unser hervorragend ausgebildeter Guide hat uns die Natur und Tierwelt auf authentische und respektvolle Weise nähergebracht. Ein ganz besonderer Ort, den man eigentlich lieber für sich behalten möchte. Trotzdem: eine absolute Empfehlung und exzellent in jeder Hinsicht!

We had a wonderful stay at Sanctuary Chitwan National Park. Every member of staff made us feel incredibly welcome and looked after throughout our stay, from the pool and restaurant teams to the guides who accompanied us on safari. Everyone was exceptionally attentive, friendly and professional. The hotel kindly upgraded our room, which was fantastic: spacious, comfortable and beautifully maintained. The facilities are excellent, the pool is incredible, and the entire property is a truly special place to relax and enjoy Chitwan. We felt wonderfully taken care of at all times and could not have asked for a better experience. A beautiful hotel with an outstanding team. We would absolutely recommend it!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations in every possible way. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The accommodation itself is sensational, surrounded by nature and offering beautiful views over the jungle area. Everything is extremely comfortable: the rooms have excellent air conditioning, the beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is spacious, and the whole property has a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The swimming pool is fantastic and the perfect place to relax after a day of activities. The food deserves a special mention. Everything we tried was delicious, and the breakfasts were generous, varied and excellent. However, what truly makes this place exceptional is the people. Salina, Shera and Roshan, together with Mr. Ajit Bikran Rana, the manager, and all the other members of staff, made us feel completely at home. They were always attentive, friendly and willing to do everything possible to make our stay comfortable and to help us with anything we needed. This warm relationship between guests and staff creates a very special atmosphere that is difficult to find elsewhere. We also loved all the surprises they organised for us. One evening they took us to watch the sunset and prepared a lovely snack for us in a beautiful setting. Another unforgettable moment was the live performance by members of the local Tharu community. That same morning we had visited a Tharu village and learned about their way of life, so it was especially moving and fascinating to see members of the same community performing their traditional dances for us later that evening. The safari was another highlight of our stay. It was absolutely fabulous. We were lucky enough to see rhinoceroses at an incredible distance — at one point less than one metre away. Our guide was excellent.

Perfectly kept hotel within a beautiful setting. The rooms are nicely designed and are very spacious. The staff is so attentive and nice, everything is very personalized and the quality of the food is the best we tried in Nepal. It was very worth it staying here.

Due to it being off season there were only 2/3 other people there so it lacked ombiance.The pool water was so hot it was not the least bit refreshing,which was disappointing as it was so hot.

Absolutely insane setting; so gorgeous, luxurious and quiet. I wished we could have stayed longer!! Definitely don’t hesitate to book this little gem. 10/10 and we travel a lot.

El hotel, aunque un poco alejado del aeropuerto y parada de buses de Sauraha, es fantástico. Las instalaciones están muy bien, está limpísimo y el personal es súper disponible. Realizamos un safari en jeep con ellos y fue genial, todos muy profesionales y muy bien organizado. El restaurante del hotel es maravilloso, estaba todo muy bueno y las porciones son abundantes. Merece mucho la pena hacer el camino para llegar a este Hotel.

Our stay at Sanctuary Chitwan National Park was exceptional in every aspect! The level of attention to detail is remarkable and clearly reflects the personal involvement of Mr. Rana, the manager, whose presence and dedication elevate the entire experience. The team operates at the highest level — professional, discreet, and genuinely attentive throughout. The safari experience was superb — expertly organized, immersive, and unforgettable. The facilities are top-tier, combining elegance, comfort, and a strong sense of place. The property is also a true paradise for birdwatchers — during our stay, we spotted more than 100 species, both within the national park and in the surrounding areas of the sanctuary. The restaurant is equally impressive, offering a refined variety of fresh, high-quality dishes with both local and international influences. One of the evenings featured a traditional dance performance by members of the local indigenous community, which was both authentic and engaging. After the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, the property feels like a genuine oasis of tranquility — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and deeply relaxing. Our only regret is having stayed just two nights. We very much look forward to returning — next time for a longer stay. If you are considering options in the area, this is a property you can choose with complete confidence.

Nous avons vécu un moment magique. Le resort en matériaux locaux est splendide. Beaucoup de confort et d'espace et très calme à proximité d'un village et de la rivière. Le restaurant digne d'un très grand chef nous avons testé les différentes cuisines tout est excellent sans parler du petit dej.... Merci à Salina d'avoir pris soin de nous lors des repas elle est adorable. La piscine est magnifique et nettoyée tous les jours. Nous sommes arrivés le jour des élections, très peu de monde le manager nous a surclassé et nous a offert un apéritif au sunset ! Merci à Tulsie notre guide pendant la journée Safari jeep où nous avons vu des rhinocéros, crocodiles, une maman ours et son petit, un bison énorme qui n'a pas daigné se laisser prendre en photo, des éléphants et bien sûr des oiseaux à profusion. Merci à toute l'équipe d'avoir sauvé un petit chat que vs verrez à la réception il est passé sous une voiture et a eu une patte écrasée. Si vous voulez vivre un moment exceptionnel n'hésitez pas ce sont des moments que l'on ne vit pas tous les jours. Rapport qualité/prix très bon. Nous aurions dû rester une journée de plus après le safari.

Rien tout est parfait

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We got upgraded to a villa for free and it was really really beautiful. We did a jeep safari and our guide was very experienced and knowledgeable. They offer free cookies that taste amazing and we were obsessed with the smell of the mini shampoo they offered. It is a bit more pricey but for us, also given the free upgrade to the villa, definitely worth it.

The resort is beautiful, the gardens are well-maintained, the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, and all the staff members are lovely, from the first to the last. Except for the manager, Ajid. It's a shame that, being such a high-quality hotel, we had such an unpleasant experience that left a bad taste in our mouths.

We stayed three nights, two full days, as a group of two. The resort organizes excursions to Chitwan National Park. There are two price options: shared excursions with other hotel guests (minimum five people) and private excursions. On the first day, we booked a shared jeep safari with three other guests arriving at the resort that same day. The price was $60. The other guests were expected to arrive at 12:00 pm. We waited in the reception area for two hours without the manager informing us of anything. Finally, at 2:00 pm, he informed us that the other guests had arrived but had canceled their safari. We discussed our two-day activities with him. The cancellation of our other guests meant we had to book two private tours for a total of $530, which we did. The manager, taking into account the two-hour wait and the change from shared to private safaris, told us he would give us a free one-hour boat trip on the Narayani River. We happily accepted, as our expenses had increased considerably. However, imagine my surprise when, upon paying the bill for the two safaris, the three nights at the hotel, and meals, which came to $1,143, it included $60 for the boat trip the manager had given us. I was even more shocked when, upon inquiring about the charge, he replied that he had to charge me because the day we were waiting for the other group, who ultimately decided not to come on safari, the resort had had to rent a jeep for us. Listen, I was already paying for the private safari; if they had to rent the jeep, that's their problem, not mine! And in no way does that expense justify them then charging me for the boat trip they had given me as a gift. I probably wouldn't have gone for it if I had known I would have to pay for it. I paid de full bill. That's not the attitude of a hotel that calls itself luxury, and the manager's behavior doesn't reflect the quality of the establishment.

Accoglienza, disponibilita' e struttira immersa nella natura

A truly peaceful stay right on the edge of the jungle, with exceptionally stylish and beautifully designed rooms. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a stunning suite overlooking the forest — waking up to that view from my bed felt surreal. The staff were nothing short of exceptional. Ajit the manager, safari guides Tulsi and Ashok, and the restaurant team all went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and memorable. The safari experience was magical. I saw 15 rhinos, including three mothers with calves. I followed Tulsi’s recommendation to visit the community forest instead of the main park and I’m so glad I did, as other groups returned disappointed. Tulsi, Ashok, and our driver John were determined to help me spot a tiger, visiting multiple locations and waiting patiently. While we didn’t get lucky this time, seeing so many rhinos more than made up for it. Thank you for a wonderful stay at Sanctuary Chitwan.

My only small issue was that the location was very far out of the way. The transfer fee offered by the lodge was ridiculous at $70, when I found a taxi in the end for around $25. Please note, that the remote location iis what makes the place so special! Even on the safari, I saw very few other jeeps.

Everything here is out of our expectation good. It was a shock that our flight been canceled when we had already been in the airport waiting for two hours. We managed to arrive at the hotel at late night but the hotel staff was still waiting for us and prepared dinner for us. Then the next day safay was excellent and a precious experience for my daughter since it was her 11 years old birthday. We had a half day jeep safari and a boat trip and a sundowner plus my daughter’s birthday celebration. Special thanks to our best guide Roshan who was indeed professional and passionate. We saw many species even in winter time low season. Also a big thank to the hotel manager Tulsi and dear Sabita who continuously kept contacting with us and helping us.

1. It’ll be better if they played some music at the bar and the restaurant. We often had to eat and drink in complete silence and we could hear conversations from other people which is a little awkward. Might make the ambience better with a little background music. 2. Have someone stationed at the pool to take down orders for drinks and food. Guests often have to walk all the way to the reception/bar to order drinks and food which made the experience a little troublesome. 3. Airport transfer cost is a bit steep. 70 USD per way for a 40minutes - 1hour car ride.

The location, the setting, the cleanliness, the facilities, amazing room with plenty of space, the best infinity pool, the fact that is so close to the entrance ce of the park… but above all the great staff. Our special thank you to our personal guide, Tulsi, who accompanied us for nearly three days on our expeditions and walked through the villages to see the local culture. We had the most amazing time here.

We had an amazing stay in this beautiful hotel. The location was amazing on the edge of the jungle and near the river. Our room was large and comfortable, the food was really great, there’s a lovely pool area and the best thing was the manager and the staff who all went the extra mile to make sure we had a great time. We really enjoyed the jeep safari and best of all was the jungle walk with Mr Tulsi who taught us all about the medicinal plants in the jungle, really fascinating. We enjoyed our stay here so much and would highly recommend this hotel.

A phenomenal experience with the most beautiful staff. We couldn’t recommend the Sanctuary more highly - stay, you won’t regret it. The jungle is right on your doorstep, a bike ride around the local villages is also benefitted by the wealth of knowledge provided by the staff, and the safari is a bucket list item. Hotelazo en un lugar mágico, hicimos el Safari solos y fue una pasada. El hotel un hotelazo con una localización top. Además se come de escándalo.

Nous sommes restées une semaine en famille. Nous avons pu bien nous reposer. Le personnel était adorable, très à l'écoute et a su s'adapter à certaines de nos demandes (notamment au restaurant). Un grand merci aussi à Tulsi qui nous a appris une multitude de choses passionnantes sur la faune et la flore. Un grand merci à toute l'équipe!

L'équipe de l'hotel est très attentive à nos besoins. L'hotel nous ont organisé un safari (les parapluies et les bouteils d'eau nous ont bien aidé à supporter le soleil et la chaleur du mois de juillet). L'équipe nous ont offert, en plus, le transport pour quelques activités dans la région: Le temple hindou (lors du transport depuis l'aéroport), le sanctuaire pour les éléphants (Stand Up for elephant - voir su4e.org) et le coucher du soleil. Ils nous ont sorti des cartons de jeux divers pour les petits en les grans. Le cuisinier nous a aussi rehaussé l'expérience avec ses surprises quotidiennes (un petit plat surprise hors-menu) Enfin, lors de notre départ, le responsable de l'hotel nous a aidé de prendre un vol précédent le notre afin d'éviter une longue attente à l'aéroport.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights during the monsoon season. It was perfect. This is a hidden gem 💎. Peaceful, beautiful and the employees were so kind and professional. We did one safari walk each morning and an afternoon drive. Absolutely amazing. Our 13 year old wanted to move to Nepal and live at the Sanctuary resort. As much as I would prefer to keep this peace of paradise to myself, I would definitely suggest to stay here.

Don’t underestimate the travel times from Bharatpur.

Truly a Sanctuary. Top notch, super comfy rooms (and trust us - we did a comprehensive research across all Chitwan hotels) and well maintained facilities. Can't emphasize enough how happy we were us to be able to take a very comfortable shower after full day of jungle activities. Jeep safari, River safari, Jungle walks were all amazing experiences - especially the Jeep safari! On one full day safari, we were able to see 20+ rhinos, countless deers and peacocks and langur, the famous wilf elephant Dhurbe, a sloth bear, and even a tiger from a distance! Our guide Roshan has sharp eyes and went out of the way to look for animals that we wished to see - we saw many animals that we wouldn’t have been able to spot without him. Food was also top notch (beat 90% of resort food almost everywhere) - amazing fried rice and love breakfast that was different everyday! The sundowner watching rhinos from afar was also an unforgettable experience. Thank Sanctuary Chitwan team for taking great care of us. We will definitely revisit if we are back in the region to see more rhinos! Meanwhile, highly recommend Sanctuary to anyone who is visiting Chitwan :)

The ultimate place to relax and safari. I stayed here for three days / nights after 10 hectic days in Kathmandu and it was so lovely. From the minute you arrive to the minute you depart you are very well looked after by all the staff at the hotel. I stayed in a villa which was incredibly spacious and great value for money. The safari was great, I did a full day and half day with Tulsi as my guide who was extremely knowledgable. On the safari we saw Rhinos very close up to the Jeep, monkeys, and elephants. Highly recommended having a couple of hours relaxing by the pool when you arrive to really get you in the zone. Great place to stay and would recommend to anyone.

We were thoroughly impressed by every aspect of The Sanctuary. The resort is a peaceful retreat with stunning, well-kept grounds and cozy rooms that are even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The amazing breakfast each morning set the stage for a day of adventure, including a safari that was one of our best experiences ever—we saw rhinos, elephants, monkeys, a leopard, and nearly a tiger. The tours were well-organized, and the professional, attentive staff clearly care about supporting the local community. All in all, the exceptional value for money and seamless blend of comfort and adventure made our stay unforgettable.

The only slight challenge was getting to the resort, but the hotel-arranged driver made it much easier and well worth it!

Our guide for the activities was knowledgeable and engaging, and we were even upgraded to a villa on arrival (which was enormous!) Staying at the Sanctuary has been the most incredible experience in Nepal. The resort is stunning, so modern but also authentic built with local materials and practices. The staff is always one step ahead, anticipating needs before you even think to ask. What truly sets this resort apart is the staff's genuine kindness. Our jeep safari was an absolute highlight of the trip, but what made the experience truly exceptional was our fantastic guide, Tulsi, and driver. From the moment we set off, Tulsi’s knowledge and passion for wildlife were evident. He pointed out animals we would have never spotted on our own, sharing fascinating insights about their behaviors, habitats, and the surrounding environment. His enthusiasm was infectious, and it made each sighting feel even more special. We saw Rhynos, deers, wild boar, vultures, etc. I also have to mention the food! Every meal was fantastic, some in the main restaurant and some in our room. Even the safari pack lunch was delicious! Staying at the Sanctuary was more than just a getaway—it was an experience that left a lasting impact on our hearts and minds. Thanks Tulsi and team !

I liked everything!!! Architecture, decoration, lightening, organic concerned and most of all, their crew!!! Everyone treats you nice, well organized, nice tours, good food, and the best good disposition always to fulfill my requirements

They could be more well coordinated about my booking information which had differences that lead us to some miss understanding that finally where solved in the best way.

Staff was well intended and ready to help, however the level of English amongst the majority is very low, so communication is poor. The rooms are nice and roomy. Good bed.

The location is extremely difficult to find and the poor quality of the roads make it almost painful to get there. There weren’t a lot of activity options and the Safari was underwhelming due to the limited variety of animals to see. Due to language issues or lack of organization and logistics in the kitchen, the serving of the plates was lacking. At every meal they would forget to bring one person’s order.

We loved everything at our stay at the Wildlife sanctury – the decor and layout of the hotel was well-fitting to the location, providing a grandstand to the nature of the surrounding area with views of the tranquile garden and pool area and the nearby local village. The entire staff was welcoming and very attentive, making sure we all had a very pleasant stay! The food was fresh and delicious, with fruits and vegetables coming from their own gardens! Mr. Tulsi and his team made sure we had a very memorable experience during our Jungle and River Safari. Mr. Tulsi was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of facts about the Village life and the wildlife sanctuary jungle with its various wild animals and plants. We enjoyed the performance of the Tharu people which was organized from the hotel especially for us and a sunset picnic at the nearby river!
