De ervaring om letterlijk op het strand in een bamboehuisje te zitten. We hadden alleen pech dat we de eerste dagen last hadden van (een staartje van).Typhoon Bavi. Dus harde wind..Dus je kon nauwelijks op je veranda zitten lekker naar buiten kijken (alle rolluiken dicht). Het personeel was super aardig en behulpzaam. De omgeving is fantastisch.

De grootte van het huisje. Dat was veel te klein voor 5 personen en niet zoals verwacht. In de omschrijving van het huisje stond namelijk 42m2. Dit was het zeker niet. Het ligt ver afgelegen. Scooters of auto is zeker nodig. We konden 2 Honda Klicks huren, maar bleek dat 1 geen Honda klick te zijn en de aangeboden scooter kon alleen in 2e versnelling en viel steeds uit. Dit viel tegen, want nu konden we die dag niet met zijn allen een tocht maken.

Bungalow et emplacement hors du commun avec tout le confort offrant calme et sérénité. Personnel toujours disponible. Petite balade autour de l'hôtel permettant d'appréhender la vie locale. Possibilité de snorkeling sur la plage de l'hôtel.

Staffs are rude to customers, I don’t feel welcome and relaxed at all. Food takes so long to serve, due to short staff.

Tout. J’adore me ressourcer dans cet endroit paisible. Le personnel est adorable et serviable. Le patron et la patronne tres aimables. Pas de chiens qui hurlent, pas de coqs, pas de karaokes alentours...j’adore. Et de surcroît, on y mange tres bien a des prix tres raisonnables

Rien, à part les nombreuses marches à monter et descendre car l'endroit est pentu...mais mérite le détour.

Milí majitelé, ochotní se vším pomoct. Chatka byla krásná, s výhledem na západ slunce nad mořem. Je třeba počítat se schody. Hezké šnorchlování z pláže a mola-spousta rybiček, možnost půjčení kajaku. Ideální i pro sólo odpočinek 😊

The room that I booked was great. It can accomodate 5 pax but we are only 4 pax. The accommodation was big and the water on lavatory and shower is strong. I am generally impressed in the accommodation.

Need to order ahead as in our first day, there are many guest. Sonwe learn that we need to order early to avoid the long que. But that is case to case basis. It would be better to stay in Kookoo's nest during weekdays to avoid so much guest.

Le coucher de soleil sur cette plage est magnifique.

Nous ne sommes restées qu’une nuit sur les 5 prévues. Plusieurs raisons à cela : - nous ne nous sommes pas senties à l’aise car nous pensions que les équipements des lodges étaient plus confortables, il n’y a pas de fenêtre / isolant avec l’extérieur, donc vous êtes au contact de la faune sauvage (sur ce point, nous assumons le fait que nous avons sous-estimé cet aspect au moment de notre réservation) - le personnel était désagréable, lorsque nous sommes arrivées nous n’avons pas été accueillies (pas de réception), nous avons dû demander à une employé de la cuisine du coin restaurant pour faire notre Check in. Nous avons eu aucune explication sur les lieux, le fonctionnement du resort et les activités proposées. Nous avons eu le sentiment d’être de trop, c’était un peu la douche froide pour nous. Lors de notre départ (au bout d’une seule nuit au lieu des 5 prévues), la gérante a été informée de notre départ précipité mais elle n’a pas cherché à nous questionner pour connaître les raisons de notre départ, ce qui nous a confirmé le peu d’intérêt porté aux clients - le fossé entre certains avis Booking et notre ressenti nous a laissées perplexes…

It's a fun adventure getting to this incredible property nestled on a cliff on a peninsula. The gorgeous sunsets, the gourmet food, the excellent customer service, the beautiful coral and the sweet dogs made it a great stay.

We loved all of it!

Basically everything. The place is like an oasis for a tired traveller.

There were geckos in the cottages but in a natural environment such as the place you cannot complain. It just looked scarry.

Ho scelto Dumaguete e il Kookoo’s Nest come prima tappa del mio viaggio nelle Filippine, con l’obiettivo di rilassarmi dopo il lungo volo intercontinentale. È stata una scelta davvero azzeccata. La struttura è immersa nella natura, in una posizione isolata con spiaggia privata: l’ambiente è estremamente tranquillo e ideale per staccare completamente. Ho soggiornato in un bungalow sulla spiaggia, spazioso e curato, con un grande terrazzo vista mare davvero piacevole. Il resort si sviluppa su un pendio piuttosto ripido: se scegliete bungalow in posizione elevata, preparatevi a fare diverse scale. Il ristorante è ottimo, con prezzi molto contenuti e buona qualità dei piatti. La spiaggia è bella e il lungo pontile consente di fare il bagno anche durante la bassa marea, cosa non scontata in questa zona. Ho noleggiato uno scooter direttamente in struttura per raggiungere il punto di imbarco per Apo Island (circa 25 minuti di strada): esperienza assolutamente consigliata. Fare snorkeling con le tartarughe è qualcosa di unico. Suggerisco di arrivare entro le 9:00 del mattino per evitare folla e possibili ritardi nelle partenze. La struttura si trova a circa un’ora dall’aeroporto ed è piuttosto isolata: perfetta se cercate relax, meno adatta se volete muovervi frequentemente o avere servizi nelle immediate vicinanze.

We really liked the quiet and beautifull location with the nice beach in front and the long Bamboo board walk on the sea, so you can swimm at any tide time. There are corals in front to discover and if you take a boat you can go around the edge to the behind lagoon. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, with an international selection of exquisite cuisine. Its nice to sit there close to the beach. We had a double storey Bungalow on the higher level with a phantastic view and sunset. The stairs are no problem at all, might only be a bit exhausting for elderly persons, but there are also Bungalows down at the beach. As the location is in a bay, its mainly calm and not windy, except the wind comes from an other side (depends on season). There are also nice beaches in the neigbourhood, easy reachable by canoe or little Banka boats. The owners are very friendly and helpfull for any questions. We highly recommend this little paradise on the south coast of Negros. Easy reachabble from Dumaguete in just an hour.

Accueil un peu réservé. On aurait aimé un peu d'aide sur les activités, des conseils ....

Nous avons passé les 3 derniers jours ici : le rêve absolu ! Nous avions choisi le bungalow de luxe vue mer et on n’a pas regretté. L’impression d’être seuls au monde, au calme absolu.

Eine tolle Lodge direkt in einen Berg am Strand gebaut. Wir hatten die Lodge am Strand und die etwas weiter oben. Perfekt für eine schöne ruhige Auszeit! Einfach zum Abschalten und Entspannen! Das Essen im Restaurant vor Ort ist sehr lecker und die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich! Und es ist ein Ort, wo Tierfreundlichkeit groß geschrieben wird ☺️

Die Wartezeit im Restaurant ist etwas lang.

The rooms have a lot of charm and make good use of local sustainable materials. The view from the room is breathtaking, especially for sunset, and the private beach is fairly quiet during the day

No sound insulation in the room which meant we could hear our neighbours talking late at night and got woken up very early by the noisy engine of the local fishing boats which pass by very close to the hotel

Very secluded, very relaxing stay. The beach huts were really sweet, and we stayed up at night on the balcony watching the fireflies in the trees. The menu was very extensive for a little restaurant, wouldn’t get bored of food if you had a long stay. Great wifi.

The welcome we got was a bit off, kinda felt like turning up to a cult uninvited. No real welcome or introduction. Just walked us to our hut and left.

Super vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Hutje aan een privestukje strand is ook top. De kinderen kunnen lekker ontdekken en schelpen zoeken.

Helaas door de regen was alles vrij klam en vochtig.

I didn’t expect that you need to go down stairs like 100plus steps just to eat at their restaurant.. it hurts our feet. And the worst is our room is on the upper part and the policy of the restaurant is you can’t bring your food there but only drinks :( and when we order a food it took so long :( we’re only the guest that time at the restaurant btw

Un loc absolut minunat, cel mai frumos dintre toate locurile pe care le-am întâlnit în cele 30 de zile petrecute acum în Filipine. Atât de multă grijă pentru fiecare detaliu, o atmosferă atât de prietenoasă, facilități functionale, personal amabil, felicitări proprietarilor - creatori ai acestui colț de paradis!

Bun ar mai fi fost un "lift" pe scripeți, ceva, pentru urcat şi coborât bagajele, între parcare şi Recepție!...

Un séjour inoubliable dans un endroit magique. L’une des expériences les plus uniques que nous ayons vécues. Le bungalow avec vue sur la mer, bercé par le bruit des vagues, un coucher de soleil tous les soirs… on n’aurait pas pu rêver mieux. Les propriétaires sont attentifs, disponibles et de très bon conseil. Toute l’équipe est aux petits soins. Les repas, servis face à la mer du matin au soir, étaient à la hauteur de nos attentes. Sur place, tout est pensé pour se sentir bien : location facile de scooters, kayaks, masques, palmes, tuba… rien ne manque. La chambre était confortable, la terrasse avec hamac un vrai coup de cœur. Salle de bain propre ; l’eau est froide, mais avec la chaleur ambiante, c’est plutôt agréable. Bonus: - Le wifi est excellent (pour ceux qui ont besoin de rester connectés pour travailler à distance - avec une vue incroyable). - Il y a des chiens, mais ils sont tous très affectueux. Un immense merci à toute l’équipe. On reviendra, c’est sûr !

I love this place! I originally booked it as a mini holiday, but something came up and I had to use it as a work retreat instead (and also extend my stay by one night). It worked perfectly! Working from the hammock to the sound of the waves gave a much needed calm and focus. The owners even accommodated for a late check-out. The food is also excellent, and all staff friendly and helpful, just like I remember it from my first few visits nine years ago.

Kookoo’s Nest came highly recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. I needed a few days of peace and solitude and this was perfect. My room was clean and comfortable and right out of Swiss Family Robinson. The bathroom was clean and well equipped; great water pressure but no hot water, although it wasn’t necessary. I spent a good bit of time relaxing in the hammock. The food was excellent; lots of vegetarian options for me. The beer was COLD and on the honor system; write your name in the board and help yourself. The staff was friendly and helpful. I requested a kayak early in the morning and they accommodated me immediately; clear waters and a beautiful area to kayak btw. The beach is a treasure trove of beauty - shells, coral, tiny crabs, giant volcanic boulders, amazing scenery. And friendly dogs and cats, several from Dumaguete Animal Sanctuary, provided me with some critter love therapy. I had been warned of “all the stairs” but they were truly not an issue even at my old age; they weren’t terribly steep and had plenty of landings so they were not a struggle. I took a Ceres bus to the road that cuts off to Kookoo’s Nest, then caught a habel habel motorbike the rest of the way. It was easy as well as a fun adventure. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer. I will be back.
