Reviewed May 28, 2026This is a beautiful beach with the property occupying a large portion on one end. Fabulous white sand extends out 100M plus, without rocks or coral. There is a restaurant and 4 Bungalows(stayed in one of these) on the beachfront strip. Large concrete style room with good aircon and decent size fridge. Nice balcony to chill out looking at the beach and relaxing.
The backshore area between high tide and the bungalows was poorly maintained. Sad also to see that previous guests had discarded their cigarette butts on the sand... Just lazy and inconsiderate. While not managements fault, they still should clean it up. Our second stay here. Last time dined in their restaurant, but sadly this trip..... Just couldn't do it. Was really dirty and the state of restaurant toilet, Woeful. I hate giving bad reviews but I call a spade a spade. I presume their staff(sitting behind reception/restaurant), but if they did their job instead of spending all the day on their mobile phones, then it would be a resort to be proud of.

Reviewed Apr 29, 2026Ich hatte einen absolut traumhaften Aufenthalt in diesem Beach Bungalow! Die Lage ist einfach unschlagbar – direkt am Strand, mit einem atemberaubenden Blick aufs Meer. Der Bungalow selbst war sauber, gemütlich. Das Personal war außergewöhnlich freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer gut gelaunt – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen und bestens betreut. Auch das Essen war hervorragend – frisch, lecker und mit einer tollen Auswahl. Für mich war es der perfekte Ort zum Entspannen und Abschalten. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen und kann diesen Beach Bungalow zu 100 % weiterempfehlen!

La plage est belle et calme,idéale avec des enfants, des canoës et planches de paddle sont a dispositions gratuitement pour les clients. Les bungalows sont quasiment neuf. Tout etait parfait. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much for all the staff.

Reviewed Apr 21, 2026Le calme de l'endroit, la magnifique plage, de manger les pieds dans le sable, le hamac du bungalow, l'excellente cuisine, la gentillesse du personnel, de pouvoir louer des motorbikes, la situation exceptionnelle.
Le nettoyage de la plage ne se faisait qu'un jour sur deux ou trois, dommage car ce n'était pas le stress non plus pour les deux jeunes accrochés à leur téléphone portable !!!

Nicht so gut gefallen hat uns, dass immer alle liegen besetzt waren. Das scheint ja aber ein allgemeines Problem zu sein. Nicht Gäste benutzen nämlich auch die liegen und so hat man als Gast oft schlechte Karten noch eine freie Liebe zu bekommen.

Reviewed Mar 29, 2026Die Lage ist super. Direkt an einem super schönen bewachsenen Strand gelegen. Sehr gutes und vor allem sehr preiswertes Essen. Wäscheservice und man kann jederzeit an der Unterkunft einen Roller mieten. Das Personal kümmert sich wirklich gut. Fährbuchungen auch ohne Probleme möglich. Zimmer sind ausreichend groß, großer Kühlschrank, sehr leise Klimaanlage und kleine Terrasse mit 2 Stühlen, Tisch und was total toll ist mit Hängematte. Wir haben uns hier rundherum wohl gefühlt. Kleiner Supermarkt ein paar Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Wir waren insgesamt 6 Nächte hier und würden sofort wieder hierher kommen. Noch was, es gibt zu jeder Tageszeit ausreichend freie Stühle und Liegen am Strand.

Reviewed Mar 17, 2026Aan voor mij het mooiste strand van Ko Kood lagen de huisjes van Rim Lay. Leuke basic huisjes met een terras met stoeltjes en hangmat. Heel leuk! De kamer was eenvoudig maar praktisch ingericht. Voldoende ruimte om je spullen neer te zetten, leggen of hangen. Een grote koelkast. De doucheruimte is ook praktisch ingericht. Bijna alsof je buiten staat te douchen wat wij heel leuk vonden. Super vriendelijke en lieve mensen die daar werken. Genoeg keuze voor het ontbijt en je kunt daar heerlijk en goedkoop Thais eten. Een leuk buitenrestaurant waar je lekker met je voeten in het zand zit. Er staan genoeg strandbedden, je kunt er kajakken (gratis), er ligt speelgoed voor kinderen en ook luchtbedjes e.d. waar je gratis gebruik van kunt maken. Er is (tegen betaling) een wasservice. Alles kun je vragen, niets is hen teveel. Het ligt wat meer afgelegen op het eiland aan een prachtig schoon strand.
Het viel ons zeker niet tegen omdat wij een scooter bij hen huurden. Maar als je ergens naar toe wil heb je wel vervoer van een taxi of scooter nodig.

Reviewed Feb 23, 2026Excellent location on Ao Jark Beach. Rim Lay was the only hotel that had actual beachfront rooms, 3 or 4 I think (we did not have one). All the other hotels on Ao Jark that offer "garden view" or "sea view" means bungalows further back, with restaurants and massage spots right on the beach so all can enjoy. Shout out to Dion, the hostess with the mostest at Rim Lay, who was always a smiling face. Rim Lay had tons of beach toys for free use. The place is perfect for kids, the beach is stunning and water perfect temperature. Very clear and sandy bottom. Can freely visit and use facilities at all of the hotels on Ao Jark when we were there.
It's not really a "don't like", more of a description of where the room was. Our bungalow, R-11, was at the back, with a spacious "front yard" and then the driveway was between us and the rest of the bungalows. (Google earth it) It is attached to another room, like a duplex (walls kinda thin the few times there were guests in our attached bungalow). It's still very nice and quiet, though. I think Rim Lay offers other "garden view" bungalows that are not attached and on the beach side of the driveway, so you might be able to see a sliver of water from your hammock. We plan on going back next year, and might try one of those instead. Overall, though, we loved our room. This trip was months long with about 15 different hotel bookings, so some of the room situation is surely on me not knowing what exactly to check for.

Bungalows in dritter Reihe nicht so schön gelegen. Räume extrem einfach, Liegen am Strand ohne Polster. Wir sind tagsuber auf die Nachbaranlage gegangen.

Die Lage direkt am schönen Strand ist natürlich wunderbar, haben auch jeden Tag die frischen Früchte mit Joghurt genossen, generell ist das Essen dort Preis/Leistung zu empfehlen, die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich! Hoffentlich bleibt es noch lange so ruhig und gemütlich dort!
