Jun Bo Xuan Boutique Hotel

I stayed at this boutique hotel with my friend in Lijiang Ancient Town and it was beautiful. The hotel is stunning, a converted house with all the modern facilities but keeps its core structure and beauty. A water fountain in the courtyard and the room definitely give the ancient town feel. It’s family run and everyone especially Amy were super friendly and helpful. She was able to share some great recommendations which me and my friend enjoyed. The breakfast, especially the Chinese breakfast was delicious and the family black tea shared by the owner is delicious. Honestly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, and will definitely tell return.

The hotel is in an excellent location in a quieter part of the old town, in a good position to get transport for day trips. The hotel staff were absolutely lovely and the property was beautiful.

Wonderful, family-run boutique hotel in the center of Lijiang on a quiet street along a canal. Meticulously renovated home is now a courtyard hotel. steps from all that the old city has to offer! Friendly and helpful staff!

We had a fantastic stay here as part of our honeymoon adventure around China. Amy and Uncle were the most accommodating, friendly and helpful hosts. Nothing was too much to ask whether it was help booking tickets somewhere, organising a massage and even hosting a tea tasting - they were always happy to help. The breakfast was delicious and really traditional as well but we especially loved the hotel itself. It felt like a calm oasis in the middle of Lijiang Old town and the room was really nicely decorated and really comfortable. They had even left us flowers for our honeymoon! Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay - our favourite in China! We hope to one day be back again.

Calm and attentive family run hotel in a heritage building that felt homely and clean with a wonderful courtyard. We were welcomed with a tea ceremony and fresh fruit. The location was right in the center of the old town, with beautiful views of the tiled rooftops and a babbling brook next to our room.

Super friendly staff. We could even choose our room and actually did to one with a better view. Lovely converted old house in a great location near to shops, restaurants and fantastic sights. Great breakfast, coffee excellent. The owners have a tea plantation so we had lovely choices of tea served in a traditional Chinese way.

No tea or coffee in the room but freely available downstairs. No TV....not really needed except for some background noise after a day out

The stay felt like home. From the breakfast, to the room, to the view. Everything was so amazing. The staff was extremely welcoming; they gave us a basket filled with fruits upon our arrival as well as tea. They also gave us black tea as a gift. Cant wait to come back!

I spent 4 nights at the Jun Bo Hotel and absolutely loved my stay here. Such a nice peaceful location, the room was beautiful, the bed was super comfortable, the staff were lovely and accomodating and the breakfasts were excellent.

Beautifully designed with nice courtyard and garden with modern facilities such as automatic toilet flush, warmed seat and bidet. Spacious bedroom with the heated bed which is so comfortable. Delicious breakfast and friendly owner with attentive service. They even offer take away breakfast for two days due to our day tour that starts early in the morning. Free flow of fruits during our stay. Near attractions and many eateries within walking distance of Lijiang Old Town.

There is no elevator, hence no convenient for big luggage if staying at upper floor. A bit far from South Gate of Lijiang Old Town (10-min walk) especially when we have to lug our luggage walking on the cobble stone street since our tours pick up point were fixed at the South Gate.

Beautiful family owned tea house. Very peaceful and nice escape from the loud noises and lights of the rest of the town. Amy the host was amazing and speaks very good English, very helpful. We were served tea constantly throughout the stay which helped us to relax and enjoy the town.

A charming small hotel. Excellent location in the Old town of Lijiang. The owner is a sweet young lady who speaks English very well and is willing to help. Room was spacious, super clean, and with all the most modern amenities. Very comfortable bed, nice western breakfast - we loved our stay at this hotel.

Everything was just amazing

This beautiful hotel is run by a wonderful family, who were very helpful with any request we had. The hotel is traditional style, in the center of Lijiang Old Town, right next to the river. They made homemade breakfast everyday, either Chinese style or we could ask for a more Western substitute. They also produce their own tea, which you can taste and later buy! Their black tea is delicious, definitely worth trying. Our room was wonderful, beautiful, with a wet zone which had a shower, bath and a Japanese style toilet, which we enjoyed a lot. There was also a separare tatami area. The rooms and common areas were impeccably clean. Excellent service, we could communicate in English without a problem, and they also helped us carry our luggage to the main street - all in all, this hotel deserves the highest rating possible, and we will definitely choose it again the next time we visit Lijiang!

There is nothing bad I can say about the hotel, it was the best experience we had while in China.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old town, in a very picturesque location on the banks of the canal. Thanks to this location, guests have the opportunity to explore the surroundings as much as possible without spending extra time and money on travel. The hotel itself, both inside and outside, is characterized by its beauty, authenticity, and great taste in design. The courtyard features a small bonsai garden where guests can sit and relax. I would like to express my gratitude to the owner of the hotel, Tracy, for her warm welcome and support throughout our stay. She speaks excellent English, has a deep knowledge of the city, and is always ready to assist us. On the day of our arrival, she not only provided us with information about the places and activities to visit in Lijiang, but also helped us with our travel arrangements. The breakfasts were very delicious and felt home-cooked. In addition to the fried eggs, the breakfasts included local dishes such as noodles, dumplings, and rice balls.

Mooie grote kamer en mooie locatie in de oude stad aan een kanaaltje. Vriendelijke en zeer behulpzame staf.

Voorzieningen niet helemaal op het niveau die je bij een kamer in deze categorie en prijs verwacht. Bijvoorbeeld geen koelkast, geen badjassen en karig ontbijt. Geen groot probleem. Maar we kregen voor vergelijkbare prijs vaak een betere kamer in China.

非常古色古香，很像電視劇裡面會演的那種古宅，很有意境。有暖氣，床有電熱毯，沒有電視，家具都很古色古香。早餐很豐盛，好吃，服務非常好，有兩天行程太早出門，吃不到早餐，還會另外幫我們準備麵包，讓我們可以帶著吃，非常周到。有任何問題都可以問老闆娘，他會很熱心的解答以及幫忙。抵達時有免費車站接駁服務，離開也可以請他們安排，但就要付錢。

以冬天來說，暖氣有點小，對於整個空間來說有點不夠暖，浴室也沒暖氣設備，洗澡很冷。

The homestay owners were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They even helped us to secure the best seats for the Lijiang Eternal Love show and arranged our return airport transportation seamlessly. They also shared many engaging hosting experiences and speacialty of Yunnan tea. Now my kids are still missing the koi feeding sessions. The warm and nourishing breakfast was especially comforting on a winter morning and truly touched our hearts. They have maintained the facilities so well. We would highly recommend this homestay to others.

It would be great if there is a dressing table inside the room.

- The host Amy was very nice and helpful. - Room is decent in size, well-equipped with amenities. - Location: need about 4 to 5mn-walk from the taxi drop-off, the hotel sends someone with the cart to pick us up (note: the old town doesn't allow cars, so you will have to walk in order to get to your accommodations inside the old town) - The surroundings are very nice, a bit more quiet than the Square market area. It takes between 12-15mns to walk to Square market, with a nice walk along the river.

Top Lage - ruhiger schöner Weg am eingefassten Bach, trotzdem sehr Zentrumsnah. Offenes Haus mit grünem schönen Innenhof, Typische chin. Architektur. Tagüber gibt es guten Tee. Typisch für die Gegend keine Wärmedämmung, dafür Klimananlage (wahrscheinlich auch zum Heizen) el. Wärmeunterlage - habe wir nicht im Oktober benötigt Frühstück serviert (chinesich - wir hatten nicht gefragt nach Alternativen) Tee, Schale Nudeln mit Gemüse lecker, gekochtes Ei, so was ähnliches wie Pfannekuchen, Obst Sehr freunliche Inhaber

Wie überall auf unserer Reise in den Hotels kein deutsches Müsli (damit muss man dann in China leben)

My stay at this guesthouse in Lijiang was truly wonderful. The property is located right inside the old ancient town, tucked away in a cozy and strategic corner. It’s the kind of place that immediately makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The host and their family were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to share great advice on what to do each day, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the area. They were also very supportive whenever I needed assistance, which made my stay even more comfortable. The room itself was spacious and beautifully designed with a touch of oriental charm, almost like staying in a traditional ink-themed inn. Everything from the bed to the facilities was well-maintained, clean, and thoughtfully prepared. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat to relax and recharge, this place is perfect. The environment is calm and inviting, ideal for slowing down and simply enjoying the moment. The daily breakfast was another highlight — simple, local, and delicious, giving a true taste of Lijiang mornings. Honestly, it’s the kind of place where you might not even feel like leaving once you’ve settled in. This guesthouse is highly recommended.

Tracy, Amy, and Tao were so willingly helpful. Help was provided with transport to Tiger leaping gorge and on to Shangri-La. Then, on my return to the airport. Excellent place to stay and be looked after by such friendly staff.

Excellent location in Lijiang old town, close to shopping, dining and attractions. Breakfast was simple but delicious, prepared by the proprietor. Proprietor was very helpful arranging activities and transportation -- she speaks excellent English. Additional bonus ... Japanese style toilet in the room!!! I would definitely stay here again.

这是一座典型的丽江传统天井式古宅，环境很有特色，院子里有假山流水，氛围安静惬意。房间宽敞干净，住着舒服。每天早上房东都会准备米线和当地小吃，味道很好。但是如果早餐能有一些变化就更完美了。

卫生间的洗脸盆和淋浴下水有时有点堵，希望能改善。

Beautiful place that is clean and comfortable. More than the outward appearance the place is cosy, and owners were very warm and friendly. The restaurant they recommended was the best meal of the entire trip! Great hearty homecooked breakfast, one of the mornings when we had to leave early for photoshoot appointment, the owners specially gave us packed breakfast :)

Sehr persönliches Hotel. Die Chefin kümmert sich persönlich um die Gäste. Wenn möglich gibt sie den europäischen Gästen ein up Grade. Eine OASE neben dem Dschungel der grossen amerikanischen 5 Sterne Hotels. Der Aufenthalt ist , wenn man es klein aber fein mag, wirklich zu empfehlen.

Property was located in the quiet area of Lijiang Old Town and it is no far from the South entrance. It retains the structure and feel of the ancient house but added modern facilities. Toilet facilities were modern and heated. Bed and linen were all very clean and comfortable. Staff, who were locals, were helpful and welcoming.

Hmm… we did not have a tv. But that’s not an issue for us as we were out most of the time :)

I loved the location, very popular among photographers but yet, very quiet and private once inside.. The sound of water when you leave the door open or sit around the courtyard. The rustic charm of the hotel was captivating. The facilities were very modern and clean. Amy, the hotel manager was very helpful and attentive to our needs. The team went out of their way to pack us breakfast for our early morning outing.

The boutique guesthouse was located 150m from the South Gate entrance to the Old Town and on a quiet part. Excellent location. 1st night we were served Chinese porridge for B’fast. We informed d manager Amy that we prefer continental B’fast of yogurt, cereal, fruits ,toast & jam & coffee. Amazingly, our wishes were granted! Great hospitality & service.

We had a great time in Jun Bo Xuan, which is a former family house in the heart of the ancient town of Lijiang. This boutique hotel is very comfortable and decorated with style. The owner was very hospitable and knowledgeable about tea from Yunnan. We’ll keep memories for a lifetime of our inspiring conversations around the tea table. This is really a good place to discover Lijiang and the Naxi culture in the best conditions!

Everything was perfect

We felt welcome like visiting family members or close friends rather than simply hotel guests. The owner and staff are very hospitable, and also knowledgable about local attractions, giving us good guidance one. places to eat and visit. The hotel is redesigned from a traditional home with exquisite taste, and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. It is a very quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Old Town after a day of exploration. Lastly, it is very near to one of the entrances, about 200 meters to walk in since the Old Town roads are inaccessible to vehicles. The owner sent their staff to help us with luggage when we arrived at and departed from the hotel. I would choose to stay in this exceptional hotel again if we visit Lijiang again.

You need to stay here! Everything was perfect. This is an excellent boutique hotel in the middle of Lijiang's old town. The location is very convenient, near one of the gates, so you can arrive by taxi, but in the middle of the old town close to all the touristic places. The hotel is very clean, peaceful and charming. The host Annie was the best, speaks excellent English and can give you all the tips and recommendations. She was very kind and gave us a room upgrade, which was very nice! Breakfast is good! If you come to Lijian you should definitely stay here.

There was a minor thing with our taxi on arrival. Another thing that I can say is that one of the guys that I think works in the hotel is very very loud. He woke us up in the mornings shouting and made the place less peaceful. He was constantly shouting.

Amy and her family couldn't be more welcoming. They greeted us, introduced us to the local Lijiang tea, helped us book activities, and added us on Wechat so we could contact each other at any time. They made us a delicious breakfast every day with local ingredients and delicacies. Amy even washed our clothes for us. They also gave us excellent local plum wine. Highly recommend and hope we can go back.

The hotel was conveniently located within 丽江古城 and we were warmly welcomed to the city with a pickup arranged by the hotel. As the ancient city is largely pebbled streets, we also had help with our luggage upon arriving at the ancient city. Overall, it was a very homely and comfortable stay where we could have tea freshly brewed with our hosts at any time. Breakfast was hearty and warming; and recommendations for restaurants and shows/sites by the hosts made the experience amazing.

Very good hotel in the heart of the old town. The hotel used to be a family home and a tea business and is still managed by the same family, which gives it a very personal touch. You can still buy tea there or enjoy sharing a cup or two and chat with the family. Our room was quiet, spacious, clean and well maintained. Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. If we are back to Lijang we would definitely stay here again!

The hosts are warm and welcoming. This place is at a convenient location in the town and the hosts are always ready to help you with suggestions and even bookings if needed. The breakfast is quite wholesome with option of choosing from the local menu or western. The rooms are spacious with all the required amenities. Initially, I was planning to stay for just 3 night but because of the hospitality shown and the place itself, I extended it for additional 2 nights. Very much recommended if you plan to visit Lijiang.

At the boutique hotel, we were welcomed, whether by the gracious owner, the attentive service staff, or the multitasking cook and cleaner. Upon our early arrival, the owner promptly upgraded us to a spacious and inviting family room, which made our stay comfortable. The first morning, as we rushed off on our tour, the cook, worried that we might be hungry, immediately rushed into the kitchen and brought out a packed meal to ensure our sustenance. On the last morning, we finally managed to indulge in breakfast - it was homemade goodness. It was a fitting farewell to a stay filled with unforgettable moments of genuine hospitality.

It's a quaint, cosy little tavern where the owners ( friendly pair of sisters ) will attend to you personally. The hospitality is impeccable, as they check on your comfort every morning as they serve you a breakfast of delicious noodles, congee, eggs, coffee and side dishes. It's situated right infront of the main river, and has a courtyard with a koi fishpond, so whether u get a river facing or courtyard facing room, you will get a constant sooth of running water sounds. It's the first time my wife said she wants to stay at a place again, so they must be doing something very right.
