Anstelle eines einfachen Zimmers bekommt man hier ein ganzes Appartement mit Küche, Aufenthaltsraum und eigenem Bad gestellt. :) Ich war für ein medizinisches Praktikum in Galle und hätte für einen längeren Aufenthalt keine bessere Unterkunft finden können. Perfekt ist auch die Nähe zum Dewata Beach, der super geeignet ist zum Surfen lernen.

My room was simple, clean, and got great airflow. There was no AC but the fan was quite strong. The owner greeted me with a juice and offered me breakfast every day. He checked in often, to ensure I had what I needed. He also offered me guidance on places where I could dine and activities to do. It's also located in a more local area, which I enjoyed.

I had a difficult time sleeping as there were mosquitoes getting into my room at night.

Amazing accommodation. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Small room but well equipped, clean in a nice and quiet neighbourhood.

Der Host des Homestays ist ein extrem hilfsbereiter und netter Herr der einem auch gerne Tipps gibt, sei es die beste Option um von A nach B zu kommen oder welche Strände in der Nähe zu empfehlen sind. Durch die etwa 10 Minuten Fussläufige Entfernung des Apartments zum Surferstrand Dewata Beach und damit der Küste hat man Nachts seine Ruhe ohne dabei weit entfernt vom Geschehen zu sein. Das Schlafzimmer und Bad waren sehr sauber und ordentlich Ausgestattet.

Durch die heissen Temperaturen gepaart mit der extrem hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit ist es auch im Schlafzimmer Nachts warm und speziell wenn es geregnet hat auch etwas feucht/klamm. Das liegt vor Allem daran dass es in dem Apartment keine Klimaanlage gibt, was ich aber schon vorher wusste und dadurch auch nicht schlimm fand. Die Fenster lassen sich so öffnen dass ein gewissen Luftzug entsteht der es angenehmer macht. Deshalb auch kein grosses Problem.

Very nice and informative owner, who consistently comes out for a talk, to share a snack or inform about festivities. The appartement is well maintained with options for washing and drying, cooking or sitting outside.

Perfect stay in Galle in a quiet environment but only a short bus ride to Galle Fort. The host Pradeep was super helpful and very welcoming. The room was clean and spacious and had fridge, kettle and sitting space. Would stay again.

Wow - this place was amazing! It’s truly one of a kind homestay in a great location, with excellent rooms and facilities. This being said, the best part about my stay were the incredible owners. The wife and husband team were always available, always checking in on you and offered all the help that you needed. I couldn’t have asked for better hosts. This property is run by Anusha and her husband, a friendly, generous and lovely couple who genuinely welcome and treat you like their family. The accommodation is very clean, spacious, with all comforts and surrounded by lush vegetation, yet you are moments away from busy and nice local beach and restaurants. The experience was so positive that I extended my stay multiple times with no hesitation, and I will definitely go back!

We had a really great time in Anusha‘s Apartment! The couple who owns the place is very nice and helpful, there’s a little kitchen nook (no stove) to prepare breakfast or snacks, and down the road are many super authentic and affordable restaurants. We‘d come back any time we’re visiting Galle again!

Anusha and her husband are very warm and welcoming. She let me check in early and was very helpful. The apartment is in a lovely garden setting. Quiet location with a small shop round the corner and the main coastal road with supermarkets etc 10 min walk away. 30 min walk to the fort or 10 mins by tuk tuk. She also very kindly did my washing and hung it out to dry. Good wifi too. Recommended!

The owner was kind and helpful beyond the call of duty. She even gave me an ointment she had purchased in Australia (when I hurt my knee). The room was much bigger than I expected with ensuite bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable. It is the best stay I've had in my life at a room I've rented for a few days. This was heaven compared t the room I rented last year (I go to the City of Galle in the South for a Literary Festival every year). That, too, was via Booking.com. The woman who ran that place was like a virago and the room was pathetic. Just horrible.

The cleanliness and the quietness

I had a whole little house of two rooms and a kitchen (fridge, gas stove) complete with a lovely porch and a small garden around. The rooms and the garden were clean and tidy. Anusha, the hostess, was extremely responsive to my needs, and all my questions/messages were answered very fast. She really goes out of her way to help you and feel good. The property is located between Fort Galle and Unawatuna, and each one is reachable by tuk-tuk (10 min + 300 rupees).

There is no cafe or a restaurant near by, so in the morning I had to make breakfast for myself, which is great once, but not every day. Adding a breakfast option would be wonderful. Also, early (~5:00 AM) in the morning some religious signing coming from a temple or a monastery, or a mosque was heard, and that disturbed my morning sleep.

Wow! Amazing room only a 8 minute walk from a romantic beach good for beginner surf as well. The Owner was lovely and warm and always free for a chat. I will be 🙌

A lovely homestay located in a peaceful neighborhood. The owner is welcoming and friendly. Though it's not in the city center, I found it more enjoyable than staying in central Galle.

I stayed in this apartment for 5 or 6 weeks and couldn't have chosen better for that time! The apartment was super clean, the area feels very safe. Beds are comfortable + have a mosquito net and the apartment kitchen is well equipped. There is no AC but multiple fans. The apartment also has a very idyllic atmosphere between the tops of the palm trees, from where you can see monkeys swinging from tree to tree at sunset. Just a 10min walk to Dewata Beach (restaurants, beach bars, surf schools) and Sambodhi bus stop, from where it's very easy and fast to get to Galle or Unawatuna. There is a little shop just 50 meters away with all necessities available at fair local prices. Especially lovely was the host Pradeep, who was very kind, open and welcoming and always up for a quick chat. He shared bananas from the garden and when I injured my hand he surprised me with dinner. Recommend 100%! *one note: During the religious holidays it can get quite loud, since there is a Buddhist temple right across the street and a mosque not too far away, so you can hear the Muezzin. But I thought that just added to the experience of Sri Lanka culture.

A very clean and comfortable place to stay. In a lovely peaceful location full of nature. The owner takes great care of the place and he's very helpful and kind. Good location for transport, bus stop is only a short walk to and railway station is further on, but still within walking distance. A good place to relax, unwind and to return to.

Great place to stay with an excellent room and outdoor area. Set in a beautiful neighbourhood which was great to walk around. Close to everything. The manager was fantastic, very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful quiet location with beautiful garden

Breakfast I just walk to the shop next to the homestay you are able to buy buns or Sri Lankan sweets for very affordable prices. I have taken the express bus from Galle to Colombo and its very convenient. same time Ive used the Pick Me or Uber app to go near by places in Tuk Tuk or small cars. enjoyed my stay for the 2nd time in same venue. Thank you very much for accommodating according to my requests.

Accommodation is pleasant. Very nice owner who will help and advise you with anything. There are not many mosquitoes here, so we did not lack a mosquito net. There is also a smaller balcony where you can sit. It is very easy to get to both parts of the city from the accommodation - you can use cheap buses. But if you are thinking of staying for a longer time, I recommend a more comfortable scooter. There are not many buses in the evening hours and the tuktuk drivers are harder to bargain with.

Some might be bothered by the noise from the nearby temple or railway tracks. As in many places in the south of Sri Lanka, they don't have hot water here either. Internet doesn't work very well if more users are connected. But anything from it didn't bother us. After all I would stay again.

Good location for surfing at Dewata. Good value. Nice hosts. Scotter hire was a good price. Good facilities.

What isn't there to like about this property, out of the way but close enough to all amenities, bus to Galle is only 40 rupee where you can extend your trip via train for a mere 300/500 rupee to the rest of Sri Lanka. This is your home away from home hands-down, Anusha although we have not met is very easy to deal with & there have been no issues from the start of my trip. I have now been here 3 months & intend on staying, Pradeep is an amazing host & has become a very close friend, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is made worthwhile, not to mention his amazing cooking which beats a lot of your local restaurants. Anyone looking for a nice, pleasant stay with hosts & prices that beat most, then Anusha's home stay is where you should look to put your feet up if you are visiting Galle.

Everything was to like......

Bed was comfortable, room had the pot to boil water, cup and a plate. Cute little balcony.

If you are a light sleeper (like I am unfortunately), I do not recommend this place, at least not the room facing the road. It is just too noisy and the doors are too thin to protect from the noise. Even though this place is not on the main street, I couldn't sleep both nights I was there because of dogs barking all night, tuk-tuks passing, loud prayers from the temple in early morning,, train passing.. For me, it was impossible to sleep. In the early morning it was too bright, since the room doesn't have dark curtains on the door and no curtains at all on the window. And the internet connection in that room upstairs was extremely bad. There was no soap and no toilet paper in the bathroom.

The host was very friendly and communicates very well. That helped us to proceed with our plans. The place has a very homely feeling specially cause its in a by road around Magalla, Galle. You don't get the beach or any such scenarios per say but you can definitely have a peaceful good night's sleep since the neighbourhood is very quiet. Value for money. We did not stay there during the day time, and we only got there to sleep. If you are planning to stay longer in Galle, then this would be a good spot as its relatively less expensive but close to the city and with that distance you can easily explore the city. Travelling to this place: If you take a Pickme or an Uber Tuk from Galle Fort that would cost you around Rs.350/- (this was Oct 9th, 2023)
