Best shower imaginable. I mean the water pressure of the gods couldn’t compete with green view. Not to mention the lovely staff and balcony and the size of the room and the cleanliness and the hammock. Don’t even get me started on the hammock. I’d kill for that hammock.

Rooms were perfect, very comfy and very clean - we loved having the balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens. All members of staff were lovely and went over and above to help us book tours, recommend restaurants and help us with our onward travel. Excellent value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay at Green View. The property is close to Periyar Tiger Reserve and offers a calm, peaceful environment while still being near the main attractions. The rooms were clean, neat, comfortable, and well maintained. The family hosting the property was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. Excellent hospitality and service. Highly recommended!

We spent just one night at the Green View, though we would have loved to stay longer. It’s a two-star hotel, but it rivals any three-star establishment... It features a lovely garden. It is clean, well-maintained, and the staff are at your service no matter what. The breakfast was impeccable, offering both Indian and European options. And then there’s the owner, Suresh—a man of impeccable courtesy and manners. The highlight? We were lucky enough to see three black monkeys in his garden. Memorable! The hotel is perfectly located for activities in Thekkady. We highly recommend it. Thanks, Suresh!

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful property in Thekkady. One of the biggest advantages of the location is its convenience — shops, restaurants, and cultural event centers are all nearby and easily walkable, making it very easy to explore the area without any hassle. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, which made our stay very relaxing. The staff members were friendly, courteous, and always ready to help whenever needed. A special mention to the owner, Suresh, who was extremely supportive throughout our stay. He helped us arrange show tickets and also shared a lot of useful information and local tips about the place, which made our trip even better. Another highlight of the property is the beautiful green open space filled with plants and trees, creating a calm and refreshing atmosphere. Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable experience, and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Thekkady.

I loved everything about this very specisl place. Lovely room with trees in a beautiful garden near the balcony which provided a lovely relaxation seating to enjoy nature. Wake up to birdsong in the garden and the forest behind. The lovely and kind host Sunesh made this a home from home for me. Warm hospitality, breakfast served with a smile by the lovely ladies who seem very happy to work there. I have travelled a lot in India snd Asia. This is definitely one place I will return to. Kumily itself is a charming friendly town and I felt very welcome and safe here. Was fortunate enough to be here for an annual Hindu festival which Suresh kingly accompanied me to. Virsually stunning floats with drumming and dancing and locals and tourists alike enjoying the pagent. Worth visiting for this alone. Its also a spiritual experience. There is also the Perivale Tiger Reserve with safaris and other events, evening shows, amazing food and a great climate. Kumily has it all and Green View is the place to experience it

We loved staying at Green View. We had garden-facing rooms, which felt very private. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and there is a large covered space behind the rooms with hammocks for yoga, chilling, etc. The garden is beautiful and very peaceful - we enjoyed sitting outside our rooms watching the monkeys, squirrels and birds in the trees. The family who run this homestay are extremely friendly and gave us good advice on activities in the park. They also helped us out when we had difficulty finding the start to the Bird Song Trail. The location is great given its close proximity to the entrance to the national park and the park's parking ground (for buses to the boating and Nature Trail activities). Overall, we loved our stay there and were sad to leave.

The host was really nice (friendly, interested, helpful), the rooms were excellent, the community area and the garden very relaxing! It was one of our best experiences in India! Thank you so much!

Very warm welcome by the owner, he also helped us book the next hotel in Munnar and arranged a discount for us. The room is simple but sufficient, and clean. The balcony was really lovely - watching the birds and monkeys in the trees was just amazing. I also appreciated the location- it's on a more quite road but close to the national park. Kumily/Thekkady is not very big - 10 min walking will give you a lot of restaurants and little shop options! Also ask for the cooking class with Remesh, it was a delight!

Das Zimmer war gross, sauber und es gab einen schönen Balkon mit Sitzgelegenheiten. Der Besitzer ist ausserordentlich nett und hat einem auch Tipps gegeben und immer wieder nachgefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist. Die Lage ist super, ruhig, aber trotzdem sehr nahe an allem.

Das Zimmer ist geräumig, gut ausgestattet und sauber, die Kommunikation mit der Unterkunft war leicht und freundlich. Vom Balkon auf der Rückseite hatte ich einen schönen Blick über eine Art Garten des benachbarten Hotels mit flachen Bungalowbauten. Fußläufig gibt es verschiedene Restaurants und Cafes.

Das Hotel liegt an einer kleinen Straße, die recht viel Verkehr hat. Mir war es zu laut, ich bin jedoch auch eher empfindlich, was Lautstärke angeht.

Hôte très accueillant et soucieux que nous passions un bon séjour. Il nous à donné de précieux conseils pour choisir nos activités dans la réserve et à côté. L'hôtel est bien situé, les chambres sont spacieuses, propres avec une bonne literie (lits King size) et un balcon avec vue sur le jardin très agréable. Nous avons passé 2 nuits très agréables. Il n'y a pas de climatisation mais heureusement la température extérieur redescend la nuit.

Ce n'est pas de la faute de l'établissement mais prévoyez des bouchons d'oreilles pour dormir car les singes sont parfois bruyants la nuit. Sinon les bruits d'oiseaux sont très agréables pour s'endormir :)

The hotel was new, clean and comfortable. The host was very nice. It felt like a homestay as we ate at the household table and their children were playing in the other rooms. Very Sweet.

Whats not to like about this lovely place! The host went out of his way to make my stay wonderful with his friendliness and caring attitude and his 2 lovely friendly lady staff members too. He organised all trips & transport for me there I didn't have to do anything except enjoy myself. The room is the biggest I've stayed in in India offering everything you need plus super fast WiFi & piping hot water! The balcony overlooks the peaceful beautiful garden. Everything is super clean and the gorgeous garden with so many gorgeous colourful plants is delightful. It's a little bit of paradise sitting outside in the garden surrounded by lush vegetation and colourful birds to eat your breakfast. . The breakfast is of your choice offering everything you wish for and after this banquet don't be surprised about putting on a lot if weight! A few meters away is Grandma's Cafe/Restaurant which is in my opinion the best place in town to eat your evening meal. I highly recommend anyone staying at Green View -, there are no negatives just all positives. Thank you for such a wonderful stay - I'll be back!

Anandu is a wonderful host. Sonya and Maria are very kind and friendly staff. Suresh knows lots about birds and is enthusiastic to share his experience. This is a lovely place, rooms facing gardens with monkeys in trees. Anandu had all the information and I was really grateful for his tip to get the kottayam ferry to alleppy. The rooms were clean, the balcony relaxing and the breakfast lovely.

Suresh is a fantastic host. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. He helped us organise our activities and plan onward transport. The breakfast was ample and delicious, and in a beautiful garden setting. It was also a delight to sit on the balcony and see wildlife in the garden.

Unglaublich freundlicher Gastgeber! Wir haben unseren Besuch sehr genossen und würden es immer weiter empfehlen. Ruhigere Lage, mit direktem Blick ins Grüne. In den Bäumen toben manchmal Affen. Von hier aus ist der Nationalpark in ca 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war gut eingerichtet und bis auf eine winzige Stelle im Bad schimmelfrei. Großer Balkon lädt zum Verweilen ein. Immer wieder gerne!

Hôtel très bien situé avec un accueil particulièrement chaleureux. À notre arrivée, nous avons même partagé un délicieux fish curry avec le propriétaire et sa femme dans leur cuisine, un moment très convivial qui donne tout de suite le ton. L’hôtel se trouve à environ 10 minutes à pied de l’entrée du parc de Periyar, mais aussi à une dizaine de minutes de la rue principale de Kumily, ce qui est très pratique. La chambre était très propre et confortable, avec une douche chaude et un petit balcon donnant sur un jardin luxuriant où l’on peut prendre le petit-déjeuner. Le petit-déjeuner est très bon, avec une partie indienne et une autre plus continentale. Le propriétaire est adorable : il nous a proposé de laisser nos bagages pendant notre randonnée dans la réserve de Periyar et nous a même permis de prendre une douche à notre retour de trek, ce qui était vraiment appréciable après une nuit dans la réserve. Un séjour vraiment très agréable, dans un hôtel parfaitement situé. Nous recommandons cet endroit à 100 % !

Excellent location near everything. Our balcony looked over the Periyar tiger reserve and we were delighted by all the black monkeys. Suresh was an excellent host who went out of his way helping with trips and transport, he was really helpful.

A small hotel with all the confort of a luxurious one. The rooms were spotless, with an excellent hot shower featuring a proper overhead showerhead and mixer tap, a convenient bedside light, and very comfortable mattresses and pillows. The manager is absolutely charming and genuinely caring, always happy to help organize any excursions you’d like. This was one of our favorite places to stay in India, and we highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay at Green View. The hotel is a tranquil oasis in the town. The large balconies open on to a lush garden. We saw the shy black langur monkeys playing in the trees from our room which was amazing! The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the breakfast is lovely. The best thing about the hotel though is the owner and staff. The owner was so helpful even before we arrived. He organised a hiking trip, boating, a kathakali dancing show, Ayurvedic treatments and a cookery class. He organised everything without charging any commission. He is such a kind and enthusiastic person and really takes a joy in looking after his guests. Highly recommend this hotel!

I am late leaving this review which I apologies for. Our stay during the new year 2025/2026 period couldnt have been any better. From the moment of booking, Mr Suresh gave me contact details to arrange national park tickets to ensure that my time there would run smoothly. This was all sorted out very quickly and convieniently. We received a warm welcome at the point of arrival, Mr Suresh ensuring we were comfortable, made us nice indian tea and we were given a beautiful room overlooking the garden and wilderness beyond. The rooms was very clean, as was the bathroom. I loved the balcony with swing chair, I could have sat there all day to watch the numerous visiting birds and monkeys. Easy walking distance to park entrance and town centre and resturants etc. It was truly one of the best stays of our entire 3 week stay in Kerala and we will have fond memories forever of this trip. I wish to personally thank Mr Suresh and his staff for creating such a wonderful space and making our trip so special. Thank you very much. Carly & Nathan.

Everything was perfect.

The host was Very welcoming facilitating. The location was comfortable and ideally located. We could relax by hearing wildlife over night, We even had the chance to see black monkeys in the neighboring trees from our balcony (we have not been as lucky during the trek in the reserve where we could only see some in the far distance.

Nothing bad with this place

Es war alles perfekt, sauberes Zimmer, gute Matratze, warme Dusche, ruhige und trotzdem zentrale Lage. Man erreicht den Park und alles, was man hier braucht gut zu Fuß. Aber am schönsten ist der Balkon mit Blick in die Baumkronen, in denen man morgens seltene Vögel entdecken kann. Der Gastgeber und sein Team sind zuvorkommend und immer hilfsbereit. Auf Wunsch bekommt man ein super leckeres Frühstück. Ich habe mich als Alleinreisende hier wohl und sicher gefühlt und würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

Green View is close to the centre of town and just 10 minutes walk from the park entrance. However, it is peaceful and quiet, with a lovely garden to watch the birds, and where breakfast was served. The room was large, bed huge and comfortable, with masses of hot water. Verandah with comfortable chairs- uncommon in homestays. The guy in charge (sorry, I’ve forgotten his name) was really helpful. Breakfast was enormous, both Indian and European, and really good- for just 250 rupees.

A kettle in the room would have been nice, and there was limited cupboard space. But these are minor comments for an excellent place

L’établissement est propre il est accessible depuis la gare de bus à pied et il est au cœur du thekaddy. De plus le propriétaire est géniale il m’a conseillé sur les activités à faire ici j’ai peu faire un trek à pied d’une journée dans le parc national et voir 3 éléphants et un éléphanteau. Le soir j’ai pu faire un cours de cuisine typique du sud de l’Inde. Je vous recommande cette hôtel

Très belle chambre avec balcon donnant sur un petit jardin. Le logement est propre et calme, et l'hôte est vraiment le meilleur que nous ayons pu rencontrer jusqu'à présent. Il est très gentil, très accueillant et donne beaucoup de bons conseils notamment pour la réserve. Vous pouvez également profiter d'un rooftop spacieux. De plus, le logement est très bien situé (proche de la réserve et de l'arrêt de bus)

We really enjoyed our stay at Green View. It is in a great location, very close to the Periyar booking office and park entrance. There are good restaurants very close too. Even though Green View is centrally located, it is very quiet so we slept well. Our room had a lovely big balcony that faced out onto the garden, very peaceful. The host, Suresh, was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed good breakfasts each morning. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Thekkady.

Hele fijne grote en hele schone kamer! We hebben een fijne tijd gehad hier. Het zijn de leukste en liefste eigenaren die wij tijdens onze reis door India zijn tegengekomen. Laten je voelen als familie. Ze helpen met het regelen van activiteiten en denken graag mee. Ook werden we verrast toen we op het balkon zaten door het bezoek van Nilgiri Langur apen. Heel leuk! Nice acc omodation in the center of Thekkady, we go there in low season, nevertheless the host helps us planning our days offering different activities, the room was big and clean. They kindly store our luggage during the 1 night safari in Periyar

Really good location. Quiet area but nearby the restaurants, shops and the entrance of Periyar Natural Park. They have a really nice garden were birds and animals can be listen in the morning. We have seen monkeys as well. Helpful staff and clean rooms.

One of the best stays we had in India. The place is clean, comfortable, the rooms are big, nicely decorated, with private balconies overlooking a beautiful garden. It was great to have a hot shower. Good location, peaceful but close to all the shops, restaurants, and to the entrance to the Tiger Reserve. The host was incredibly kind and helped us with laundry and organizing activities in Thekkady. We ended up extending our stay and wish we could stay longer!

I can easily say that Mr. Suresh and his family were the nicest hostes (apart from my in-laws) that I had in India! They were the sweetest; helped me book tickets, gave me nice recommendations for food, and were really sympathetic. During my stay, I got sick (nothing related to the accommodation), and they even made me rice soup so I could get better. Apart from them, I was nicely surprised with the room: the bed was huge and comfortable, the water was always hot and the pressure was amazing. The view to the garden made my nights and early mornings. If I ever go back to Thekkady I'd like to stay in Green View again!

De eigenaar is een echte gastheer. Bij aankomst werd ons iets te drinken aangeboden en legde hij ons goed uit hoe we naar Periyar Park konden gaan, waar we goed iets konden eten enz enz. De kamer was mooi en schoon; het grote balkon, met uitzicht op de tuin was prachtig! Gastheer vroeg ons regelmatig of alles naar wens was enz. Het ontbijt, in de tuin, was heerlijk en uitgebreid. Top verblijf!
