This place definitely grew on me. The room was of a good standard, with awesome views, and both breakfast and dinner were great. The hospitality and service were excellent. The owner and his team are definitely a vibe, focused on giving guests as pleasant a stay as possible.

The only downside is that the sound insulation between rooms is quite poor.

Super friendly helpful staff

Shower was average but still excellent value

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. I originally booked a budget room, but was lucky enough to receive an upgrade — and wow, what a surprise. The room was absolutely fantastic, with a spacious balcony and truly breathtaking views over the mountains, rolling hills, and tea plantations. Waking up to that scenery was incredible. The breakfast was excellent, and the dinner was just as good if you decide to eat there as well. The hotel can also help arrange tours and activities. I booked a trip to Lipton’s Seat through them, which turned out to be a beautiful experience and a really enjoyable tour. A special mention as well for the layout and atmosphere of the property itself. The garden is beautifully designed and full of tropical plants, which makes the whole place feel peaceful and unique. But what really made the stay stand out was the staff. Everyone was unbelievably kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Hairdryer needs to be requested so make sure to ask for it before they’re closed up for the evening. Wi-Fi in room can have poor reception. Suggest to get additional hairdryers and routers for little costs! :)

Wauw, wat een uitzicht vanaf je balkon! Je hebt een riant zicht op theeplantages en kunt zelfs Udawalawe zien liggen, bij helder weer. De kamers zijn ruim met grote ramen. Het bed is comfortabel en er is een prima douche. De ligging van het hotel is ideaal. Je kunt direct vanuit het hotel prachtig wandelen. Verwacht geen homestay sfeer. Het is met 15 kamers echt een hotel. Volgens mij is dit het mooist gelegen hotel van Haputale.

Het pand is erg gehorig. Dus je hoort erg goed wanneer er bijvoorbeeld in het restaurant met stoelen wordt geschoven.

The views - it’s up a mountain but the walk up there means you get the views. Comfy beds. Nice staff. Good location.

The switch to get hot water is outside the bathroom door which I wasn’t made aware of so had a cold shower night 1. When the hot water did work it was very hot and no way of making it cooler.

J’ai adoré mon séjour dans ce superbe endroit très fleuri et avec une vue magnifique. Le personnel est adorable et très sympathique toujours la pour vous aider et savoir comment votre journée s’est passé. Le soir et le matin vous avez la possibilité de prendre le repas qui est un buffet pour un prix plus que correct. Je vous recommande sans hésiter.

Conseil : changer les rideaux du studio car ils lassent passer un peu la lumière et également manque d’intimité.

We loved our stay at Leisure Mount Villa - truly one of our favorites. It is located beautifully in the mountains. We loved the food (amazing curry, especially the aubergine), and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We recommend taking the cooking class! And although Hashan, the owner does not market their social impact, the hotel is doing a lot of great things for the community. It is great to know that spending time at the hotel is supporting a good cause!

My room (I had a room without a view on the fields) was besides the road. Some earplugs are advised as there is a lot of traffic, even at night.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Haputale ! L'hôtel est situé en face des plantations de thé. L'hôte est adorable et est de très bons conseils sur les choses à faire dans les environs. Nous avons réalisé un cours de cuisine proposé dans l'hôtel. C'était un super moment et le soir vous mangez ce que vous avez cuisiné. En plus, les bénéfices servent pour l'école du village ! Une bonne action 😊 Les lits sont très confortables. Le seul petit bémol est l'isolation phonique qui n'est pas parfaite mais soyez sans crainte, durant la nuit l'hôtel est très calme et vous dormez magnifiquement bien. Foncez !

We had an excellent stay in this hotel. The rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was vast and excellent, as well as all other food we enjoyed. The location and the views are astonishing. But fist and foremost, it was the manager Hashan and his mother Chitra who made us feel very welcome. Though not advertised, the hotel employs single mothers and young people who normally wouldn't easily find employment. Hashan pays them all an above average salary, so they really can build a future. And they all were friendly and very proficient. Also in many other ways, the hotel helps the local community. There are cooking classes at a very nice small farmhouse at the premises. The money goes to underprivileged children in and around Haputale. The groceries come directly from their own garden. Hashan, like his mother, is very modest about their endeauvors to bring the local society forward.

Knusse, fijne homestay met goede sfeer. Nette, schone kamer, goed bed, koffie/theefaciliteiten op de kamer. Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaren. Prima ontbijt. Balkon & terras waar het heerlijk is om te zitten met mooi uitzicht over de theeplantages. Redelijk dicht bij centrum. De eigenaar heeft er een auto en bracht ons voor een zeer schappelijke prijs naar de volgende locatie.

De oppervlakte van de ruimte op Booking klopt niet. Kamer + badkamer samen zijn niet zo groot: ca 12m2.

Pobyt w tym hotelu był prawdziwą przyjemnością. Największym atutem jest przepiękny widok na plantacje herbaty – poranki z taką panoramą są po prostu magiczne. Personel jest niezwykle miły, pomocny i zawsze uśmiechnięty, dzięki czemu od razu można poczuć się jak w domu. Jedzenie bardzo smaczne, świeże i różnorodne – każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie. Całość tworzy idealne miejsce na odpoczynek i relaks. Zdecydowanie polecam!

Probablement le meilleur hôtel que j’ai pu faire jusqu’ici. Tout est parfait. La vue est magnifique. Il y a une salle commune à l’étage avec des tables pour pouvoir prendre des boissons chaudes en regardant la vue et jouer aux jeux de société. Possibilité de faire des petites marches dans les parages. Prix très raisonnable. Possibilité de laver ses vêtements. Nous aurions presque pu y rester 2 semaines s’il n’y avait pas tant de choses à voir au Sri Lanka.

We had a room with tea plantation views and it was gorgeus. The place is quiet, comfy, balcony was superb place to chill. There are pekoe trails going around, must go for a good adventure.

Quelle belle vue sur une plantation de thé ! Ce petit havre de paix saura ravir toute personne cherchant la quiétude et la beauté des paysages ! Situé à l'écart du centre de Haputale, vous trouverez non loin de l'hôtel un excellent restaurant/ lunch / goûter tenu par un adorable couple : le Mint the Mist Nous avons participé à un cours de cuisine Sri Lankaise au Nilowan Spice Kitchen qui nous a plu ! Nous avons appris par la suite que l'hôtel en proposait également à 5000 rpies (vs 7000). Dans les environs, nous vous conseillons de faire un saut au Monastère saint Bénédicts, à la fabrique de thé Lipton Dambatenne et au Sir Lipton's seat pour la vue (le matin de préférence). Si vous le pouvez, préférez la marche pour redescendre à la fabrique et prendre un tuk tuk : se balader dans les plantations de thé avec les cueilleuses de thé est une très belle expression. Les femmes et leur sourire sont sublimes ! Le restaurant de l'hôtel propose un buffet très bon et varié. Nous n'avons pas testé le petit déjeuner car ne prenons pas de petit déjeuner en tant normal !

La vue est incroyable depuis la chambre. Nous avons même était surclassé gratuitement. Le staff est vraiment au petit soin avec nous.La chambre était spacieuse et très propre avec une bouilloire et du thé.

Wat een fantastische plek om te zijn. Bij binnenkomst kregen wij te horen dat we een kamer upgrade kregen gezien het er best rustig was. De kamer was erg mooi, schoon en had een fenomenaal uitzicht. Het beste eten wat wij hebben gehad is ook geweest bij de Leisure Mount Villa. Je krijgt een tafel vol heerlijk eten. De eigenaar is daarbij nog een klasse apart. Door een gast die daar verbleef werd mijn telefoon gestolen. De eigenaar is in zijn auto gestapt en mijn telefoon gaan terughalen. Daarnaast bestaat zijn personeel o.a. ook uit alleenstaande moeders. Zijn visie is dat iedereen gelijk is en gelijke kansen verdient. Het was voor ons een hele mooie ervaring om hier te slapen en ik raad het zeker ook anderen aan!

Er viel echt niks tegen. Ik zou vooral deze plek gunnen dat meer mensen hier naartoe gaan. Het is een oase van rust met vriendelijke mensen en mooi natuur

Breath taking view and clean room. Apart from few areas with spider webs (i am paranoid with spiders) very clean and does not smell bad (like most places in Sri Lanka tbh..mouldy smell...)

Bed sheet wasnt great tbh.. it was warm but didnt smell pleasant. Still cannot complain. Best value for money.

Die Aussicht ist atemberaubend! Das Personal ist sehr gut vorbereitet, hat viele Vorschläge für Ausflüge und hilft bei der Organisation. Auch das Abendessen können wir sehr empfehlen.

Erg mooi uitzicht, mooi verblijf en vriendelijk personeel

Wat een locatie! Het hotel heeft zo'n ongelofelijk uitzicht en is iets buiten het centrum gelegen. We boekten 2 standaard kamers voor 10 usd per kamer per nacht (laagseizoen). De ruime kamers waren netjes en wsren voorzien van alle basiscomfort, goed uitgerust met een propere badkamer met warm water, goed bed, goede hoofdkussens en een kastje om je spullen in te leggen. We hadden een terras met 2 ligstoelen en keken uit op de mooi onderhouden tuin van het hotel. De eigenaar is heel sympathiek en maakt graag een praatje. Heel behulpzaam en vruendelijk personeel. Heel lekker ontbijt en dinerbuffet! We waren helemaal op ons gemak in 'the cottage' , we hadden er langer willen blijven! Het is er heerlijk wandelen langs de Pekoe trail.

De achterste kamer van 'the cottage' grensde aan een stijgende straat en dat bracht veel lawaai met zich mee.

We stayed at the main house, the rooms were great, super clean, spacious. The view from the balcony and the rooftop was unbeatable! The breakfast was great as well (especially when it was Sri Lankan). The owner was kind and very helpful. Overall a great choice for Haputale, highly recommended!

Everything was perfect. These are probably the best money we have spent in Sri Lanka. We are on a budget and got the cheapest room, which still felt like a luxury hotel. The view was exceptional, the crew were incredibly helpful and sweet and the breakfast was the best we had gotten yet. Huge recommendation.

It's a very beautiful acommodation. It has different categories of rooms which also allows the budget travellers to enjoy this hotel and these beautiful views. The staff was very professional and friendly. The room was in a good state and very clean. The bathroom has warm water, there was a warm blanket, a water kettle, tea and coffee. The terrasse with the room was nice and on the rooftop of the main building there was a beautiful view on the mountains. The restaurant was rather expensive for a budget traveller but the food looked very well presented and it probably is very tasty. It's not too far from the city centre, a 20 minute walk or you can take the local bus or tuktuk. The cameras around the property gave me a feeling of safety. the manager is most kind. When we had some problems with our laundry (because of my mistake there were bleach stains on it), they didn't charge for the washing and he even went to the shop late in the evening to buy new clothes for us, while it wasn't even their fault at all. I can only recommend this place! I would definitely come back here.

No hot water .Difficult access

We are a family of four and we stayed in the double rooms in the villa. We loved our stay, the team were super friendly and approachable and helped us with all sorts of queries about the local area and forward bookings and transport. The food at the hotel was great and we also found some places nearby to eat. The town is a short tuktuk ride away. We went on a stunning hike that was good for the kids and found that we wanted to spend the rest of our time relaxing at the hotel enjoying the pretty gardens and breathtaking views. The team make a great effort to keep the hotel clean and looking attractive and we also learned that they are very community focused which is a big tick in our book. Thank you for a great stay. Will definitely return if in Haputale.

Great location and stunning view

Nice big solid and modern rooms overlooking the tea fields, with the mist rolling in, was lovely sitting on the balcony. A 300 rupee tuk tuk ride from the town. We didnt have much interaction with the staff like we do at other guesthouses, it was a bit impersonal.. However down the road, 10 minutes walk, is Mint of The Mist cafe, you have to go there, a lovely family, great and very cheap Sri Lankan food, real coffee!!! The family also catered to my friend's coconut nut allergy and cooked special meals for her.

Incredible view, beautiful surroundings (tea plantations). Beautiful public spaces in the hotel, and a well maintained garden. Food is good. We especially liked the curry buffet, which was organised once during our stay (this seemed to depend on the number of guests interested). Staff was helpful, except for the manager.

The hotel manager seems more of a business man than a host. We had booked the economy rooms, and he first showed us the luxury rooms before showing us the substandard, smelly economy rooms. So we opted for the luxury rooms. These were light and beautiful, but the bathrooms were a bit lacking (not very clean, a bit run down, simply no match to the rooms).

Incredible view, helpful staff and a huge selection of dinner and breakfast foods.

We loved our stay here, the whole place is beautifully designed and has the most stunning views of tea field and mountains. The rooms are modern and spacious, with a large comfortable bed and large bathroom. Full length windows allow you to take in the amazing scenery and there is a balcony to relax on. The restaurant serves delicious Sri Lankan food, we had dinner here and it was incredible. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always smiling. The owner/manager is passionate about hospitality and has created a beautiful hotel with a focus on design and service and incorporates the traditions and lives of local village residents on a stunning portrait gallery in the dining room.

We loved everything about our stay here

We had a wonderful stay here, the staff were incredibly friendly and happy to help - letting us check in early and leave our bags in a safe place so we could continue exploring. It's located right on the 12th stage of the Pekoe Trail, so we did that and explored some other trails locally too. The breakfast was tasty too, with stunning views!

Every thing is perfect. Clean and specious rooms. Location was perfect, near to haputale town. For relax is good seat on the balcony. Freindly staff and owner. Highly recommended.

The view is spectacular. The best view I've stayed at in haputale. Well located close to town, and adisham monastery. Staff is very helpful and friendly. they are quick to accommodate your requests . They give a big soft blanket to keep you warm at night. We rented the room On the rooftop. Highly recommend this room. Sweeping views of the haputale gap.

Just needs some TLC. The glass doors need to be cleaned. And the locks replaced on these doors. The sink faucet was barely a drizzle, and there were ants nesting in the tile around the sink. Water pressure in shower not that great, but doable, as long as there are no power cuts, then just freezing water to shower with. Should have solar water to alleviate this issue. Time to replace mattress. It sinks in the middle, so you tend to fall into it. Need towel holders in bathroom.. with high winds the side wood doors will rattle, so maybe not the best choice for light sleepers. Lights are flickering and need to be replaced

Great location, just a short tuktuk into the main town or about 30 min walk. The views from the hotel are really amazing, right in the tea plantations. The staff were so friendly too. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but there is one on site

Ventilation of the bathroom is on the side of the corridor where anyone can peep in. No tv in the room . Less facility in the washroom
