Great location inside the fort, nice cozy vibe, Asish was absolutely incredible throughout our stay - arranged our desert camel safari and then we unfortunately got sick so he rearranged it and made sure we were looked after in the meantime. The desert safari was great, reasonable price and you’re on a private sand dune with no other groups around, good evening meal and breakfast included fresh fruit, highly recommend! The cafe owner/chef was very kind, helpful and attentive.
The beds are very hard and the toilet needed a bucket of water to help it flush
Roof top restaurant in homestay is very nice..
Great owner, did camel safari tour very good authentic experience, good location inside the fort

ATTENZIONE: manca l’acqua calda!
Nejvíce se nám líbila lokalita, a cena. Hotel nám zařídil vyjížďku do poště. Personál byl velmi milý. Dokonce nám i zařídili lístky do Dehli. Hodně času jsme strávili nahoře v kavárně se super atmosférou.
nic
Nice behavior by the host. Highly recomended.
Nothing else.
L’endroit Et le personnel. C’est calme la nuit donc il edt possible de bien dormir ! Jlai adoré cet endroit
Malheureusement l’internet est lent et le réseau téléphonique faible a l’intérieur des murs.
Kindness of Ashish and Ali, the Bbest cooker. We met a lot of nice people there because of the so convivial terrasse.
Beds too hards for me. Un peu spartiate mais fun.
Super warm athmosphere, felt just like home, mostly because the hosts were so welcoming :) also, it was super special to sleep inside the fort!!
Great helpful people, specially Ashish.
The plumbing in the shower did not work. Had to take a cold shower in the morning.
My Jaisalmer trip was truly special thanks to Ashish Bhaiya and his team. I stayed at Hotel Surja (they also run Marigold, which is how I found them). The rooms are clean and peaceful, and because the hotel is right against the fort walls, the views of both the city and the fort are breathtaking. It’s a serene spot, mostly visited by international travelers, making it perfect if you prefer an authentic atmosphere over a party scene. While the stay was lovely, you must do the desert safari they organise. It’s a separate, immersive experience where we spent a couple of days camping under the stars. Ashish, Babu Bhaiya, and the rest of the crew were so attentive. By the end, our small group felt like a close-knit family despite being from all over the world. On our last night, we even shared a meal from one large plate, a truly beautiful moment. Ashish Bhaiya handled everything from bus stand pickups to the smallest details. 100% recommended for an authentic Jaisalmer journey! Food, location, price, staff are beyond excellent.
For me this is not an issue, but maybe could be for some: That its within the fort so maybe not great for older people who dreads walking uphill (autos were not plying in the day, Ashish bhaiiya helped with the luggage on his vehicle. At night autos go inside the fort so, that shouldn't be a problem then.
The location was beautiful and full of history. The homestay owner ashish was really friendly and explained everything about the area very well. Always made us feel welcome and at home as well as the other people there in the restaurant too.
Nothing
Everything is good.
This is unbelievable place that you can stay. With calm, kind, peace everything it perfect 💯
Nothing at all
It was my second time at the homestay and I felt right at home again. The rooms are spacious and clean and Ashish was available for anything, as always. Big recommendation when you come to Jaisalmer, you won't forget this place.
Marigold Homestay is a gem! Located inside the fort and next to the palace, it's perfectly situated. I've stayed here twice now, and the welcoming family makes you feel right at home. It's a great spot for solo travelers - safe, friendly, and always something to do. The siblings, Ankita and Ashish, are the highlight! Ankita's henna art is stunning, and Ashish is super helpful with planning safaris and trips to nearby villages. And the best part? You won't need the internet when you're with them - the siblings are better than any meme! Pure entertainment! And the sweetest touch! They surprised me with rose petals tossed on the bed - hahaha - cheeeeeeesy, but I love you, guys 😍 Plus, there's Kim's Café open 24/7, so you can order anything at any time and Mister Ali will happily whip it up for you. Perfect combo of hospitality and convenience!
Great location. Friendly host.
Response of staff was a bit of concern. Cleanliness and hot water can be managed better.
Amazing loacation, friendly host. Great desert safari, the view!
Was all amazing
Amazing location with cosy cafe connected to our home stay. Our host, Ashish is an absolute legend! Felt right at home.
Everything from the hosts to the place itself! The food and view from the rooftop were just amazing!

Very nice place to stay inside the fort Friendly and helpful owner, helping with everything and organizing great trips to the desert. Highly recommend this place and will come back there.
Beautiful guest house, clean, great location, friendly staff, delicious food. One of the best accommodations in India for solo travellers but also couples! We also did the dessert tour with them and it is completely worth it, I recommend it to anyone.
The host was very supportive & helpful 🙂
Room was asthetic and clean
Host Ashish was very friendly and knowledgeable, telling us about the history of the fort and surrounding areas. Excellent communication before and during our stay. We were picked up and dropped off at the bus stop. Fantastic location within the fort with a good vegetarian restaurant on site. Room was clean and comfortable. Very good value for money.
The only down side was not having hot water for a shower but we were brought a bucket of hot water on request. And for the price, this is not a complaint.
Excellent owner, good service over all pleasent stay
Excellent stay there, the staff is lovely and the night in the desert was magical. The only slight downside was that the water wasn't very hot, but since the day were it wasn't such an issue. Recommend 10/10
Ashish is such a great host I've ever met. He always welcomed everyone and tried hard to make everyone comfortable. Also the room is so clean and tidy so I was so relaxed staying here. And he tried to help me all the time with the train ticket and made me relieved. I definitely will visit there again in the future. Thank you for everything again. 😁
My stay at Marigold was special. I had only planned to stay for two days but somehow ended up staying for two weeks. Ashish is a fantastic host—always available, warm, and funny, which is always a plus. The room was clean and cozy, and the food at Kim’s Café was excellent. I even went to the desert twice with them. All in all, I was super happy and could have stayed even longer if time had allowed.
The place is inside the Jaisalmer fort, the view is incredible. Hashish was really a nice and calm guy, i told me some nice places where to go. I'll definetely come back!
Very nice host, great Nutella-Banana pancake Overnight camel safari was nice (2500 rs pr person, 4-7 people in a group with food included - price is standard in the area)
The location is awesome, inside the fort in a very calm area and with beautiful views. Kim's café is a very cosy restaurant and the food is delicious. The room is very spacious, clean, beautifully decorated. The bed is big and comfortable and the bathroom is big and clean. On the top of that, Ashish made me to feel welcome, he explained many things about the history of the fort and gave me recommendations to visit in Jaisalmer. We spent some time together, watched a wollywood movie that became also my favourite so far. He also gave me a ride to the train station at my departure. Ali, the cook in Kim's café is very talented and I enjoyed his food a lot. His cooking is wonderful. Thank you Ashish and Ali for making of my visit to Jaisalmer one to remember and until next time ♡
A magnificent stay in a perfect position. A warm welcome, like being at home, Very helpful and friendly with a very good cook 🤗 They organized for us a not turistic escursion in the desert and a Camel ride which was just incredible especially the night under the stars 🤩. Then we had to send some souvenirs out of india and the manager organize everything for us. A big big thank you to all the team!
Ashish is the best Indian man you will ever meet. The hotel is inside the Fort so you have everything nearby. Everything was wonderful, he also organises safari for one or multiple nights (which i did and recommend). Just ask him whatever you want and in 2 minutes you will have whatever you asked in a perfect manner (safari, tuktuk, dinner, laundry, etc...).
Lovely homestay inside the fort. The rooms and restaurant are cozy, clean, and nicely decorated. Ashish makes you feel at home and is always happy to help or share his knowledge about the city and Indian culture. I can totally recommend doing the camel safari with them as well! They offer a free pickup service from the bus/train station at any time, which is great. I stayed here much longer than expected and would love to come back someday!

Great location, feels safe. Ashish is very helpful and considerate. The room has character, and there is a cafe you can relax and order food at any time.
It’s a homestay and old building / fort so just keep that in mind… at times the toilet didn’t flush, electricity stops working and the family seemed a bit annoyed whenever we asked them for assistance.
Amazing experience, truly kind-hearted, kind-souled people, we felt at home, the area was perfect, the hotel was very clean, I recommend it to everyone, well done.
Hostel Marigold is a hidden gem in Jaisalmer fort. The experience of being inside the fort is so unique and vibrant. The cosy Cafe terrace allows you to take in the architecture and vibes of the fort for hours. Ashish was a top and good natured host - he met us at the airport and sorted out an amazing and authentic camel safari experience, and shared all his wisdom. We were a day late getting to the accommodation bc we missed our flight and we didn't even get charged. The rooms are basic but thoughtfully decorated and give you a sense of the history. We are blessed to have had this experience.
No hot water but I don't think you can expect that for the price!
Location was good and the staff was very helpful.
The hotel was difficult to find and the location is such that a cab could not drive there. I had to walk with my luggage for last 15 minutes. The property should mention that the location needs us to use an autorikshaw rather than a four wheeler. The hotel cancelled my reservation before I reached. But allowed me to stay when I reached there.
What a lovely place! Cutely decorated which makes you feel at home. It’s in a quiet yet central area of the fort and Ali, the chef, made delicious food :). Ashish, the owner, is polite and humble and always willing to help or advice. And told some cool stories about the history of the fort! Did the desert trip with them as well which was awesome!
Wish I could stay longer!
The host Ashish is just wonderful. He is really interesting and helpful, gives a lot of insights, as well as very good recommendations. The location inside the fort is also perfect
Very good 💯
Good good 💯
The host was very accommodating and made sure that we had a good stay. He made suggestions as to what to visit and guided us to the Jain Temple. He guided us to a good patchwork shop where we made several purchases. He also arranged the Rickshaw for us for tourism and to the train station which we really appreciated.
I had a great stay here! It was awesome to be inside the 'living' fort that is Jaisalmer's. This hostel was very well priced, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The owner Ashish is a very friendly and genuine guy that I wish I had leant on more so during my stay - if you need any help or just a friendly chat, he is more than happy to help. He helped me out of a spot of bother during my stay and I am forever grateful!!!
- clean room - nicely decorated - excellent location - management was very helpful. I only stayed one night, but they still did their best to make me welcome - nice view from the cafe
- hot shower was by bucket only. Didn't really matter to me
I liked the rooms, the food made by Ali the location inside the fort was great
Location is very good
Very helpful
Situated directly inside the fort with a cozy terrace and a nice view towards a couple of pretty buildings. Ashish was very kind and the food was super tasty!
We stayed there for two separate nights (before and after our camel safari) and in the second room, the bed was very hard... 😬
Beautiful location inside the fort, they serve delicious food with a nice view and friendly staff. I wish I could stay longer and would definitely recommend this place!
Host & all staffs are so sweet. They always helped us a lot with warm kindness. Also this place is lovely so much. I would say this home stay is the greatest one in this fort. Nice location, good price, very clean & so much welcome .. thanks for amazing memorizing :)
Nooooooo ..!
I like very much location and clean and confortable rooms whit bathroom and i like the staff that was frendly and help all time. The staff never press you or asking for booking safari, so you feel free and relax,,Everything was perfect i planning stay 2 days but i extend to 6 bcs very comfortable place and good price !!"! Also the homestay have very nice roof for relaxing and nice view!!! And also nice food make
I was solo traveling in India and stayed in Marigold. I stayed in total 5 months with the host. At first, he was very kind and helpful, but then I discovered he was a manipulative person and a scammer. He has relationships with most of the guests, keeps in touch with them, and at some point pretends that his hotel partner left with money, claiming he needs funds to reimburse the owner. His partner, Ali, who runs the café at Marigold, never left and is probably not even aware of this. Here are the facts: (1) Ashish borrowed 150€ from me, and I never got the money back. He later asked me for an additional 150€, claiming his partner Ali had taken money from the hotel, and he was in trouble. (2) A Dutch woman was also tricked and ended up launching a crowdfunding campaign for 700€ to help him, or else he claimed he would “go to jail” for not reimbursing the owner (the property actually belongs to his family). This is a pattern. He is a manipulative person who tries to scam guests. I lost a significant amount of money, just like many other women who were trapped by his lies and manipulations. If you want to stay with an honest host, avoid this place! Jaisalmer is a wonderful city with many guesthouses inside the fort, so run away from this man and enjoy your stay!
The host Ashish is such a good-hearted soul - one of the kindest and most helpful hosts I ever had. The hostel is perfectly located in the fort and has a nice terrace to relax from the busy streets. For the price you are paying, I do not think you can get any better place to stay.
Marigold Homestay was the perfect spot for our trip! Ashish (the owner) collected us from the train station when we arrived late at night, and made us feel welcome and settled immediately. Throughout the trip he told us about the history of Jaisalmer and showed us some of his favourite viewpoints! He's also available to help with reccomendations and anything else you need. The hotel has a great location inside the Fort and has lovely views of the street below, you feel like you're in a movie because its so beautiful! The room was comfortable, and there's even a cafe onsite which serves delicious food and provides a comfy and cool area to sit. Asish also helped arrange the safari/overnight stay in the desert which was an absolute highlight of the trip! The safari was amazing, the guide was friendly and knowledgeable, the food cooked from scratch in the desert was excellent, and we had an amazing evening under the stars. I honestly cannot recommend Marigold enough. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend anyone coming to Jaisalmer to stay here. You won't be disappointed!
Excellent homestay inside the fort in a great location! The best part was that the host was incredibly kind and helped us with everything. The rooms was okay and they have a nice café where you can sit with other travellers.
The specific room we stayed in didn’t get wifi and phone service, but the other rooms are supposed to be fine.
My friend and I had a really lovely stay at Marigold, Ashish was an amazing host and helped us arrange an amazing safari in the desert which we loved! The homestay was in a beautiful location and had a really nice restaurant called Kim Cafe which you could order from and look out at the amazing fort whilst eating!
The host makes you feel at home. A pickup from the trainstation around midnight in a new city makes a warm welcome. I had a lovely room, clean and comfortable, attached to the patio where they have a restaurant. Good place to meet other travelers and hang out. The desert safari was also a good pleasure to see more of the surrounding area. We slept at a quiet place in the desert and had a great dinner and breakfast.
Staying in Marigold Homestay was the best possible experience. Everything was just fantastic. It's inside of the Fort so everything is super close and the view from the Cafe (amazing food btw) is so nice that you could spend whole days there. Ashish as a host is just awesome. So friendly, caring and helpful! Picked me up at the railway station at night, showed me around, had so many stories about Jaisalmer and made me feel so safe and welcomed that I even didn't want to leave. Also, I recommend you to go to the desert with them, it was so worth it. So if you are going to Jaisalmer - this is the place you are looking for.
Such a lovely space to be each day. Very comfortable outside lounge from where you can watch life in the fort go by. The attached cafe is also great which lots of options for food. The best part was going on the overnight desert stay that was offered by Marigold - it was so peaceful sleeping under the stars. Ashish who runs the place is a lovely and genuine man who looked after me very well. Would definitely stay here again.
Ashish and the staff at the homestay made my trip to jaisalmer a magical experience that I will never forget. Their kindness, integrity, humour, knowledge and genuineness as well as the spectacular rooms and food was fantastic. The three night tour in the desert with Akbar was also spectacular and can highly recommend this too. The whole experience was a definite high point of my trip to India.
Beautiful place in the heart of the fort, rooms with city views, quiet and peaceful. The staff is excellent and friendly. The restaurant food is great. Highly recommended.
Cheapppppp
Wifi is work only in the restaurant.
The best homestay in Rajasthan! I love literally everything there. It's a family run place so the moment you enter the house you feel like you are a member of the family. Exceptionally friendly staff, nice terrace with a 5-star view! Great location inside the fort, right next to the entrance. There's also Kim's restaurant, which I highly recommend. I spent over a week at Marigold and it was fab!
Everything was FABULOUS!
Nice place to stay inside the fort The owner is very helpful and friendly Recommend
Lovely place, very cozy room and nice cafe, the owners are also friendly and kind people
Everything was perfect. Ashish is a great host! The location was perfect just inside in the fort and also the food was great! We will come back for sure
Nothing
The staff is really nice and good people and the food is good too. The room is cheap
We run out of light and they took too long to fix the problem. The food is more expensive than the room, thats odd, but the room was so cheap. The shower is only the buckets they use, no like european shower.
The location is the best you can find in Jaisalmer. It is literally inside the fort itself. Also, I found their hospitality to be very warm and comforting. Ashish who runs the place was very welcoming and helping in everything.
Anazing hostf, incredibly friendly and helpful. And the location... Inside the fort! Just purely wonderful!
The rooms are really clean and the location of the place is super central. The hosts are super welcoming and helpful :)I can really recommend the safari too it’s a special experience
I normally don't rate anything an absolute 10, but this place just really deserves it.
Best location in the fort. The place is like a little paradise in the middle of the noise. Staff are great and help you out with trips and buses etc.
There was a bit of a drain smell after a shower but the drains are hundreds of years old in a fort so what do you expect?!
Location is beautifull and the food in the cafe is great!
Super nice and attentive people. The place was very cute and the location is great.
The nicest staff, great location, very reasonable price, one of the best homestays I've ever been to!
We really enjoyed staying here. It is nice and clean, the homemade food is excellent, the view is fantastic and Aziz the owner is so nice and helpful. We arrived very late at night and it was no problem. He arranged a tour in the desert which was fantastic. We really recomend staying there!!
Lovely homestay with nice staff who gives recommendations of what to see and helps with anything, such as booking your next bus or with finding best sunset point. The cafe which is attached have many options on menu, good prices and it has a nice relaxing sitting area :) I can highly recommend this place and I’d definitely come back!
Absolutely an amazing stay, regardless of the price (which is too low for what you get!). The host is really nice and tells great stories of Jaisalmer. The restaurant is great and affordable too. Furthermore they organize trips to the desert and everything.
No hot water
I had a bad experience here. This object didn't provided me the room I booked and made me stay in other place 200 metrs far, which I was not satisfied with. This property keeper Ashish confirmed my booking. When I arrived he said that he is fully booked and tried to give me the other room in the other property. So when I had to stay there because it was very late. Even I wasn't satisfied with room or facilities. The name of a property I stayed in is "Ideal" guest house. By the way the time when he confirmed my booking he had known that he doesn't have room for me, but didn't let me know. If he would have done it I would have had time to book something else. Please, don't trust these people.
Best manager he will take care of you. We did very late check in and he woke up to check us in. Very much recommended in jaiselmer.
Ashish - the one who runs it is a very nice guy. He will go out of his way to help you. He helped me find a good exchange rate! He is very approachable and hospitable. The location is great and the breakfast omelette was very tasty.
There was no hot shower, but they will bring you a bucket of hot water to bathe in. Something quite normal in India, so when in Rome….
