Reviewed Sep 8, 2026The rating 9.3 on Booking is justified! -The host is a very lovely person. -Fridge is a big plus (Sorry, my chicken was smelly). -Hot and cold water with a good pressure is what I needed after the hike (Hiked to Augstmatthorn). -The bathroom was clean and looked fresh. -Not far from the bus stop. -Amazing views around. -Good WiFi.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026Paesino super tranquillo e tipicamente svizzero..il paese di Interlaken era a circa 10 minuti di auto posto ideale x chi è in cerca di pace...la stanza veramente carina con tutto l occorrente c'era anche un bollitore x il te e la macchinetta del caffè la proprietaria gentilissima ci ha fatto trovare persino una bottiglietta di vino...spero di poter tornare in futuro

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026Although our visit was quite short, as we only checked in for one night on our way further south, the accommodation provided everything you could wish for after a long drive: hot shower with good water pressure, comfortable bed, good restaurant nearby. The check-in process was fast, friendly and efficient; some welcoming snacks and drinks also contributed to the general impression. Good value for money considering the location.

Reviewed Oct 15, 2025We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Village Room fully! Since the moment of booking, it was very easy to communicate with the owner, Anne, and so we felt we were very welcome. We enjoyed the nice, hot shower, which was very pleasant after a day of driving. The bed was comfortable, and the room was very quiet. The cost of lodging felt very reasonable overall.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2025Absolute gem of a property and location! Quiet and charming on the mountain only 15 minutes drive from Interlaken. After a busy day in the city this was a sweet retreat! We walked to the local restaurant for a delicious meal with friendly service. The views are amazing and Anne was such a great host!

The location is great (roughly 15 minute drive from Interlaken) and the views from Habkern itself are beautiful. Anne was very friendly and provided us with everything that we needed, as well as giving helpful recommendations during our stay. We'll definitely come back if we're in the area 😊

Reviewed Dec 19, 2024It is so remote and quiet. Feels very private and homey. Host very helpful and informative. Very clean room and has everything you need and extra. Very comfy room. Close to a very nice restaurant and only 10 min drive to Interlaken. Village is very pretty to walk around. Please visit Restaurant Alpenblick up the hill, very nice couple and good food/drinks. Good price as well.
Bring slipper to walk around, as the floor quite cold in winter, but the room is very warm, with adjustable temperature.

Reviewed Oct 11, 2024A wonderful place to stay tucked in a beautiful and quaint little village. Everything was very comfortable and clean. Loved roaming around the village. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Anne was very nice and so helpful with instructions getting here by bus. Highly recommend this perfect little spot away from the crowds for a truly Swiss experience in the alps.

The last bus (no. 106 from Interlaken West) departs at 19.00. After that only option I found was to take a taxi and pay appx. 45 euro.

only problem is if you don’t have personal vehicle then you have an hourly bus from Interlaken west with last bus at 7 pm (maybe less frequency during winter)

Reviewed Aug 23, 2023This is just the most wonderful place to stay in the swiss mountains, the room is basically a small apartment you have everything you could possibly need. Anne has thought of everything from cutlery to wine to cups, glasses... Everything. We could see the love she puts into receiving people into her home Plus the soundings are breathtaking. You cannot find a best place to stay I'm just so sad we could not run into Anne and we only stayed one night.

The owner, Anne, was such a sweet person & welcomed us with big friendly smile. She is very thoughtful & had kept all kind of minute details in the room like coffee, tea, chocolates, wine, cutlery, toiletries, towels etc. We liked the place a lot. This would be our hidden gem and will be close to our hearts.

Note there is an additional 6 CHF charge you have yo pay cash for city tax. I did not notice it when I booked. But still it's a good value.
