Ruwan and his family are amazing hosts. They arranged everything and regulalrly checked whether they could be of any assistance. They provided great breakfast, diner transportation and even travel tips. The room was lovely and the view simply amazing. 100% recommend.

Posizione lontana dal traffico, in campagna tra le risaie e una pace incredibile; Ruwan e famiglia sono adorabili, ci hanno fatto sentire a nostro agio e anche di più, la cooking class è stata divertente e autentica; abbiamo chiacchierato tanto e fatto anche una visita della fattoria con un sacco di racconti e info sullo Sri Lanka; la stanza è super: moderna e con una vista spettacolare (se lo si desidera ci si può svegliare per godersi l’alba direttamente a letto); pasti abbondanti e buoni. Assolutamente consigliato!

Prachtige locatie midden in de natuur. Mooie kamers met goede faciliteiten en een prachtig uitzicht over de rijstvelden en de jungle en bergen daarachter. Nous n’avons passé qu’une nuit chez Ruwan, mais c’est sans aucun doute notre meilleure expérience au Sri Lanka. Le petit panneau à l’entrée dit “Arrive as guests, leave as friends”, et c’est exactement ce que nous avons ressenti. Ruwan et toute sa famille sont d’une gentillesse incroyable. La chambre et la vue sont magnifiques. Le cours de cuisine est un incontournable : très pédagogique, réalisé avec des produits de leur ferme, et le meilleur rice & curry que nous ayons mangé ! Si vous en avez l’occasion, demandez aussi à visiter ses plantations. Merci encore à toute la famille pour cet accueil inoubliable !

We definitely recommend this accommodation. Ruwan and his family are wonderful people. He gave us a warm welcome, showed us around the property including the ingredients grown there, and we had a really nice talk with him. He treated us with great hospitality and cooked us a delicious dinner and breakfast. In the end, he even drove us to the bus. Thank you, Ruwan!

Ridge Boundary View exceeds my expectations! This place is wonderful, surrounded by rice fields, sounds of nature and breathtaking view from the balcony. You can really relax here. My room was spacious, with AC, very good wifi, quality mattress and pillow. Bathroom well-designed, very clean, no worms or frogs, heated water. However the most important is hospitality. I really leave this place as a friend, not guest only. Family served very delicious Sri lankan breakfasts and dinners. Ruwan always has been there to help with anything - local buses, organizing safari in affordable price. I extended my stay by 1 day and it’s hard to leave this amazing place and people. Must to visit!

Staying at this homestay was easily one of the highlights of my time in Sri Lanka. If you’re looking for a genuine cultural experience rather than just a place to sleep, this is exactly where you want to be. The host, Ruwan, is what truly makes this place special. He is incredibly kind, open, and genuinely interested in connecting with his guests. He shares fascinating stories about Sri Lankan culture and daily life, giving you insights you simply wouldn’t get anywhere else. His English is excellent, so conversations flow easily, and you can ask him anything. He’s one of those rare people who makes you feel immediately comfortable while also being deeply interesting to talk to. The property itself is beautiful and very well maintained. Everything feels new and clean. The view over the surrounding rice fields is stunning—peaceful, green, and completely calming. Knowing that all of this land belongs to Ruwan adds another layer to the experience, especially when he explains what is being grown around you. One of the standout aspects is the food. Both breakfast and dinner are prepared using ingredients straight from his own garden. You’re not just eating—you’re learning. Ruwan explains what you’re having, where it comes from, and how it fits into local cuisine. The dishes are authentic, fresh, and incredibly tasty. It feels like a true farm-to-table experience, but in a very personal and homely setting. I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone who wants a real, immersive experience of Sri Lankan culture while still enjoying comfort and quality. La balade et la découverte de la ferme voisine avec Ruwan ont été une expérience enrichissante et authentique. Les conseils pour visiter les alentours étaient très appréciés et nous ont permis de découvrir des trésors cachés. Le dîner, préparé avec des produits du jardin, était tout simplement délicieux et a ajouté une touche locale à notre séjour. Une très belle chambre avec une vue magnifique, offre un cadre paisible et confortable. Sans hésiter, nous reviendrons si nous avons l'occasion de revenir au Sri Lanka. Un grand merci pour tout !

Top notch, just for the room window view, it's fantastic, you get to see the sunrise in the fields from your bed, i mean, what else do you need ? A good bed, a great dinner, a great breakfast, and the hosts were so nice. I'll definetely come back!

Nous avons passé deux nuits dans cette guesthouse et l’accueil a été exceptionnel dès la première minute. Le propriétaire nous a reçus avec une chaleur et une sincérité rares. La chambre était spacieuse et propre, avec de grandes baies vitrées offrant une vue magnifique sur les rizières et la montagne. Se réveiller avec ce paysage chaque matin était un vrai privilège. Mention toute particulière pour le matelas : il était parfait. Cela peut sembler anodin, mais après plusieurs hébergements où les matelas étaient beaucoup trop durs, cela a fait toute la différence. Nous avons enfin passé des nuits réellement reposantes. Honnêtement, rien que pour ce confort, nous serions restés plus longtemps si notre programme ne nous obligeait pas à partir. Nous avons également dîné sur place les deux soirs. Les plats étaient excellents, authentiques, préparés avec des produits frais provenant de la propriété. Ce fut une vraie découverte de spécialités locales. Même qualité et même générosité pour le petit déjeuner. Au-delà du lieu, ce sont surtout les échanges qui ont marqué notre séjour. Nous avons beaucoup appris sur la culture locale à travers nos discussions. Cette expérience a été bien plus qu’un simple hébergement : une véritable rencontre. Un immense merci à Ruyan pour son hospitalité et sa grande gentillesse. Nous recommandons cet endroit sans hésiter, les yeux fermés.

Wir haben einen tollen Kochkurs gemacht, wobei die Messer unglaublich scharf waren 😉 auf Nachfrage haben wir das Essen auch auf "nicht-europäisch-scharf" gekocht und es war vorzüglich. Die Portionen waren mehr als reichlich und Ruwan hat sich mega um uns gekümmert und viele Tipps gegeben. Selbst als wir abgereist waren, hat er sich um unser Wohlbefinden gekümmert. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen 😊

No tenemos palabras para describir nuestra estancia, a pesar de ser solo de 1 noche para continuar nuestra ruta. El lugar es maravilloso, se respira pura paz y libre de cualquier estrés o bullicio de la ciudad. Con unas vistas desde la habitación a los campos de arroz impresionantes e inmejorables! Estás rodeado de pura naturaleza, a nosotros eso nos encanta y nos hace muy felices. Te acompaña y te explica sus plantaciones en una pequeña ruta muy agradable. Además, Ruwan y su familia son encantadores, se preocuparon en todo momento por nosotros y por hacernos feliz. Incluso mi pareja se encontraba algo indispuesta del estómago y buscó para ir a comprar algo de medicación, que no nos dejaron pagar. Y por si no fuese poco, al irnos nos dieron un pequeño regalo que nos ha hecho inmensamente felices, me he ido de este lugar muy emocionada. Muchísimas gracias Ruwan por todo.

We had a lovely time with our very welcoming and accommodating host. He gave us a wonderful tour of the area and his incredible gardens. The view was fantastic, there was an abundance of bird life and the meals (dinner and breakfast) were fresh and flavourful. The room was clean and comfortable.

Ridge Boundary View: boven het verblijf van de eigenaren worden 2 riante kamers met eigen badkamers verhuur. Je hebt een fantastisch uitzocht op de 5 Knuckles. Het is er super rustig, heerlijk! En dat op maar 10 min. rijden van het drukke, chaotische Dambulla. Na aankomst konden we de huurauto parkeren in de schaduw in de tuin van de eigenaar. Alles ziet er netjes uit. Dan loop je de trap op en kom je op een groot, overdekt terras met een grote tafel en 4 stoelen. Daarna loop je naar de gehuurde kamer, je doet de deur op en.... WOW wat een fantastisch uitzicht op de 5 Knuckles door die grote ramen in de slaapkamer. De slaapkamer is heel ruim, met een prima bed, met airco, ventilator en kofie- en theefaciliteiten. en superschoon. En wat een rust, heerlijk. Naast de grote slaapkamer is een flinke badkamer, met douche, wc, wastafel. Alles ziet er schoon uit. Ook heeft de slaapkamer een klein balkon, met natuurlijk ook dat fantastische uitzicht. Op het terras hebben we lekker gepraat met de vriendelijke eigenaar. Hij en zijn vrouw hebben een heerlijk diner voor ons gekookt. Hij zei dat ze nog nooit zo gekookt hadden, alleen groenten zonder kruiden voor mij ivm knoflookallergie. Mss niet te eten volgens hun, we hebben er samen hartelijk om gelachen. Ook het ontbijt was erg lekker. We hebben tijd gemaakt om 's morgens met de eigenaar een uurtje over zijn terrein en dat van een buurman te lopen. Aanrader! Hij vertelde heel enthousiast over allerlei bomen op zijn terrein, 3 soorten bananen, 3 soorten mango's, verschillende soorten tomaten, nog meer groenten etc. er schijnen ook heel veel bijzondere vogels te leven. Was heel erg interessant. Dit ruime gastenvervlijf ligt op maar 10 min. rijden van het drukke, toeristische, chaotische Dambulla. Ik zou zeggen: rij maar 10 min. verder en je belandt in een oase van rust mét prachtig uitzicht.

Ruwan ist ein toller Gastgeber! Wir haben so tolle Sachen zum Dinner gegessen. Er hat Currys mit Gemüse von der Farm serviert, das wir vorher noch nie gehört haben. Es war köstlich! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Ruhe war einfach nur herrlich. 😍

Toll wäre noch ein etwas dünneres Kissen im Bett :)

Staying at Ruwan and his family’s homestay south of Dambulla was wonderful. We felt so warmly welcomed from the start, like being invited into their home. The room was spacious, clean and tastefully designed without being cluttered (also appreciate the thoughtful storage racks and space for our stuff!). Waking up to sunrise over the mountains with birds chirping was magic. We loved being surrounded by nature - morning walks spotting monkeys, fruit trees and birds right outside - yet it was only a short ride into the city and nearby sites. It's a great base for exploring key attractions. Breakfast and dinner (optional) were excellent every day, made with produce from their own farm, so we really got local cuisine. We booked 3 nights but ended up staying 8, because we simply didn’t want to leave. 11 out of 10 stars for Ruwan and family - we couldn’t recommend their homestay more!

Ruwan is an amazing host. This place is one of the top experiences we have done in Sri Lanka. We did the tour of the farm and we chat with Ruwan for hours. He explained us so many things about Sri Lanka and his farm. Also dinner was one of the best we had during our 2 weeks.

We had an amazing dinner and the next morning the host took us on a tour through the property and explained about living, plants, harvest at the country site. One of the highlights of our month in Sri Lanka. Our teenagers loved it and wanted to stay longer, so hopefully we will come back some day!

A me e al mio compagno Claudio è piaciuto tutto. È stato un soggiorno perfetto, la casa immersa nella natura, tra frutteti e distese di campi. Una vista spettacolare, sia dalla camera (dalla quale abbiamo ammirato l'alba) sia dal terrazzino utilizzato per i pasti. L'host Ruwan è una persona veramente gentile e disponibile, pronta a darti consigli sinceri e a parlarti dello Sri Lanka con il cuore, facendotene innamorare ancora di più. Cibo buonissimo, camera pulita, spaziosa, dotata di aria condizionata, letto molto comodo. Quando torneremo in Sri Lanka, sicuramente passeremo da lui! Elisa e Claudio

A beautiful stay! Couldn’t recommend enough. Ruwan was an amazing host and we loved visiting his property and learning about all the plants he grows! We had two amazing dinners (catering to vegetarian), and the room was really clean with a beautiful view. Close enough to take a trip to sigiriya and Ruwan helped us organise a driver. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The place is close enough from Dambulla, Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa, while beeing in the middle of beautiful and calm rural area, which makes it a perfect place to be while exploring the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka! The room is equipped with a good AC system, and a moskito net. You have a beautiful view from the terrace, from which you can see a lot of birds! Moreover, Ruwan is a perfect host, he is very friendly, speaks very good English and has a lot to share! He provided us with delicious and affordable sri lankan food and will make your life easy and unforgettable while staying in his place!

The owner is very friendly and receptive. The room is very clean, modern and comfortable. We only stayed one night and left with the desire to stay more... it is very peaceful, surrounded by nature and calming energy. We even had a tour though the agriculture area and Ruwan explained about the plantation.

Ridge Boundary View was BY FAR the highlight of our Sri Lanka trip—I can’t recommend it enough! This isn’t just a stay; it’s an experience that everyone should have. Ruwan is the perfect host—welcoming, attentive, and always going the extra mile to make your trip better. He gave us a fascinating tour of the property, where they grow over 20 types of food, from rice and jackfruit to coconut and even breadfruit (which I had never heard of before!). Walking through the lush farm, touching and smelling the fresh ingredients, and listening to Ruwan’s hilarious stories made it unforgettable. Every meal was a farm-to-table feast, prepared with love by Ruwan’s family. From homemade cinnamon tea to an incredible spread of Sri Lankan dishes, everything was fresh and bursting with flavor. Each meal came with an explanation of its ingredients and preparation, giving us a deep appreciation for Sri Lankan cuisine—so much so that throughout the rest of our trip, we’d try dishes and say, “It’s good, but not as good as Ruwan’s!” The location is breathtaking. Watching the sunrise over the Knuckles Mountains right from our bed was pure magic, followed by the best breakfasts we had in Sri Lanka. Ruwan also made our trip seamless, organizing everything from transport to an unforgettable safari, where we saw over 20 elephants up close! He even helped us navigate local buses, making what could have been a hassle into a fun adventure. Dambulla has plenty to see/do, with elephant safaris, the amazing Sigiriya Rock, Cave Temple, or just reading a book on the balcony and enjoying the view. Even after we left, Ruwan checked in to make sure we arrived safely at our next stop. He’s not just a host—he’s a genuinely kind and hilarious person who made our trip truly special. If you’re visiting Sri Lanka, do yourself a favor and stay here. You won’t regret it!

The room was spacious, tidy and the bed is big and super comfortable. The views from the glass wall are stunning and Ruwan's hospitality goes way beyond standards, making you feel at home away from home. He will take the best care of you and help you in any single thing you may need during your stay. He even showed me their fields around the property were they grow all the veggies and fruits served in the meals. Both the homemade breakfast and dinners served at Ridge Boundary View are delicious and a perfect way to try authentic Sri Lankan food. Definitely a place I'll recommend if you want to be in a peaceful and beautiful place enjoying real Sri Lanka.

clean & comfortable rooms, such a nice host, great views, delicious food, very close to cultural highlights. We felt like home within minutes, enjoyed talks with Ruwan very much who also helped us to organize tours and transport. Highly recommended

We loved everything! A little heaven.. If we could put more than 10 out of 10 we would do it. Ruwan is an amazing host, genuine in getting to know people from the world, and very interesting as he is very educated. We loved the breakfasts and dinners on the terrace (special well done to his wife for this amazing cuisine), with a peaceful view on the rice fields… we got the chance to also visit the farm with his lands and the ones from his family. He gave us a lot of advices, and also told us how to take the bus, which is an amazing experience. You can reach the Golden Temple by bus in 15min; Sirigiya is further away but we enjoyed staying far from the touristic area. We would never say enough thank you these 2 full days!

Fantastic stay at Ridge Boundary View! Ruwan (host) was friendly, helpful and hospitable and couldn't do enough for us. The location is ideal if you don't want to stay in the hustle and bustle of Dambulla. You can easily get a tuk tuk from the main road to the property to get into Dambulla and beyond. Dinner and breakfast was exceptional and really good value for money. There aren't any restaurants nearby. The bedroom was spacious and clean with an incredible view of the knuckles. The stay had a homely feel and doing a tour of Ruwan's farm was informative and enjoyable. Would highly recommend staying here if you want a homely, peaceful experience with incredible views! We arrived in Dambulla on a very rainy day and were welcomed warmly by Ruwan and his family. He offered us a cup of tea and then took us on a local agricultural tour where he showed us around his town and taught us about local plants. In the dinner we cooked with his father and wife and learnt about Sri Lankan food. It was very fun and the meal was delicious! It felt like staying at home and like we had a second home away from our own. The accommodation has a lovely view on the rice fields. It is simple but clean and comfortable. I totally commend coming to this place if you want to experience a local and genuine family! If you just want a bed without interaction with locals it is probably not the place for you. Breakfast was super filling, varied and delicious and so was dinner. I totally recommend to have dinner there, it's all fresh from the backyard. We would totally come back :)

-We had some humidity problems in the room due to the heavy showers and had some water leakage in the room. Ruwan was very helpful and offered to try our clothes that got wet.

Staying here was wonderful. Nuwar's hospitality was truly extraordinary. We had many pleasant conversations with him and he was very careful and present everyday but always with great respect for privacy. He gave us lots of useful advice and constant small gestures of hospitality, as well as taking us on a beautiful tour of the surrounding farm area. He also arranged for us to go on a wonderful safari with an excellent guide. The hotel has a perfect location, close to Dambulla and just a few metres from the main road where you can easily catch a bus or tuk tuk. Clean rooms with great views of nature. The stay was great for us to visit rural Sri Lanka while traveling through the country, Ruwan was a great host taking care of all our needs and taking us on an agricultural tour as a local teaching about the village and all the plants, fruits found in Sri Lankan wilderness. As well as we went for a swim in Mahaweli river! Room is very clean and modern, we had also dinner and breakfast at the stay which was great, trying the local organic food we were introduced to earlier. Ruwan was very accomodating for all our needs during our trip

Best place where I stayed in Sri Lanka ! Amazing view with biiiig windows to enjoy from the room. Clean room..very close to bus station, droping you anywhere you want. Peaceful in the middle of nature and farm. You can come and do some cooking with the family. Very helpful host. I would not consider any other place else aroung Sigiroya and Dambulla. 2 nights or 3 nights. Amazing experience.

My wife and I have stayed in over 15 hotels in Sri Lanka. This place is one of the best for us. Beautiful nature around, where you can walk along rice fields and banana plantations. We had a very nice room with a high ceiling, a balcony, huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a fantastic view of the mountains. You don’t have to get out of bed to see the sunrise over the mountains. There is a table in the room and on the veranda to work on the computer. There is hot water, although this is often a problem in Sri Lanka. We highly appreciated the delicious breakfasts and dinners. The owner Ruwan introduced us to such delights of Sri Lankan cuisine that we did not know about. Much of what we ate is grown near the hotel. And of course I would like to say that Ruwan is a wonderful host, a very kind and attentive person. He is always ready to help in any situation. In addition, he has a university education and can tell you a lot of interesting things about Sri Lanka, suggest what to see in the area. For example, thanks to his advice we saw a small temple in the rock, where it was quiet and calm. No crowds of tourists. We spent 7 days here. We will definitely come back again, but this time we will stay at least 10 days.

The weather

Ruwan and his familiy are really welcoming. It was great to make a tour around the village and countryside and learn more about the Sri Lankan nature. We had a great time and enjoyed the delicious food.

Ruwan is the nicest owner we've met during our trip. As he says it himself, it's not only a bed and a bathroom. He delivers a nice experience, meeting his family and walking with Ruwan through the area and getting info about all the plants and vegetables that grow there. We got a very delicious, home cooked dinner and breakfast. We stayed here for 2 nights, and visited the cave temple in Dambulla.

The place is nice, clean, hot water and working AC. The dinner was delicious (cost 6$ per person). The included breakfast was also very good, though I liked it more in other places but that's just me be I'm not a fan of coconuts. The host took me for a walk around the area which was very nice. Note that it's super remote so you should have a vehicle if you want to stay there

There were no bottles of water in the room like in other places we stayed, and we got a bottle of water during the meals and then at the end the host charged us separately for the water. I don't mind the money, it's a small amount, but it gave me a bad feeling because he naver said that water is not included in meals that include everything else (he also didn't tell us the price of the dinner beforehand, which I didn't mind too much because the price is completely fair, but would have been nice to know, though I could have also asked). Then he was really pushy about us leaving a review, and I actually tried but there was some connection issue that didn't let me and he kept texting me about it and I think I have the right to write or not write a review as I wish and I shouldn't be forced to do so. It's a nice place and the host is nice, but those things actually made me feel uncomfortable for a few days to follow, which shouldn't be a case for a one night stay.

We stayed for one night and felt so welcomed by Ruwan. We had some great conversations and Ruwan provided us with great food and a tour around the country side. Best place if you want a quiet stay on the country side!

Ruwan and family offer something unique. The view of the sunrise over the ridge starts your day , followed by freshly prepared breakfast , walks around the family farm, swimming in the river , learning about growing organic vegetables and fruit , waving and smiling with the neighbours then relaxing back in your cool (air-conditioned) room , waiting for dinner to be served. This place is a hidden gem. Ideally located to visit Dambulla Caves / Sigirya / Lions Rock if you want to get back on the tourist trail , but don’t rush to leave this idyllic paradise as there is much to learn from Ruwan and his family ! Flavours of Farm to Plate / Organic Food / Permaculture and wisdom past down from the generations before. The mostly vegan/vegetarian dinner is exceptional and generous. You will not be hungry ! Even a surprise birthday cake for my partner ! Ruwan shares freely and with an openess rarely seen. A generous man , with a big heart. You won’t want to leave.❤️

Ruan was the most amazing host for this beautiful homestay. We exchanged a lot of stories and had such a great time with him and his family. They cooked amazing food for us, homegrown from their own farm and Ruan sat with us through each meal and we had great conversations with him. Loved out time there and would go back to Sri Lanka only to meet our friend again😊

Amazing view in the valley! This is the perfect place if you want to escape the busy city's. Ruan is the best host you can imagine. He is always there for you if you need something and he can help you with suggesting things to do in the surrounding. He is also interested in his customers and likes to talk about Life, culture and Philosophie. He shows you his land explains plants and vegetables. Thank you Ruan for making our stay special. Near to the place is also a natural river where you can safely swim in the jungle. Amazing! Last but not least Ruan served great Dinner with fresh vegetables from the surrounding.

The view from the room is fantastic!! Furthermore the owner of the place is very nice, interested in his customers and we had Really good conversations. He also showed his farm and the surrounding area, which I liked very much.

Everything: the room is very comfortable, clean and pretty, the location is 5-10min away from the cave temple in a very calm area with an amazing view on the mountain, dinner and breakfast were really good, the host is amazingly friendly and very caring. He brought us some snack before dinner, we discussed a couple of hours during very tasty and generous dinner, we tasted bananas and coconuts from the « garden », he took us on a tour of his « village ». A memory that we will for sure keep with us back to France.

For those who love nature and serene vibes of rural lifestyle, this place is a MUST! We instantly fell in love with it and felt so welcomed by the warm greeting of the host. Ruwan(hopefully I got his name correctly) is such a kind and sweet man who always checked up on us to make sure we were doing well. The room is spacious and spotlessly clean. Sunrise was seen from the bed with beautiful view of mountain and farm. Ruwan aslo took us for a walk around the village which was very interesting and enjoyable. Ruwan showed us many different type of local plants and we shared lots of things about our two countries. We could tell how much he loves and cares about what he’s doing. Great time with him. Another best part is the food there!!! We had dinner at the place and it was just like a buffet. So many dishes!!! They were all truly yummy. Ruwan even took us to the bus stop on his vehicle. Was so kind of him. Thanks so much Ruwan🙏 We did love everything about your place, the hospitality and kindness of you and your family, your kind father. We would always look for a chance to come back someday in future. We can not recommend enough your place to every single traveler if coming to Dambulla!!!

Could not stay longer

Ruwan was extremely welcoming and his food was so good ! His garden tour was so nice, he bring us until the river, we saw many monkeys, peacocks, a beautiful wildlife and his plantation (fruits, vegetables, spices). Was so interesting! Thank you !

People, you can't miss this place! We travel for such places and people! Ruwan and his family are fantastic people! During our stay, we felt like VIP guests! We were taken care of all the time - Ruwan and his family brought us coffee, tea, juices, sweets all the time! They don't even want money for these extras! This is crazy! Ruwan took us on a tour of his farm, showed us how to grow some vegetables, fruits, cinnamon, pepper and much more! When it comes to food - as someone wrote earlier... this family deserves a Michelline star... the variety of food we got in the queue was simply amazing! It was a real feast, new flavors, everything is organic, fresh... Amazing! Ruwan is a great person who enjoys spending time with his guests, who quickly become his friends 😊 The host has a lot of knowledge and is very generous! At the end, he gave me some Ayurvedic oil because he saw that a some bug had bitten me... for free, of course... he didn't want to accept any money... WHAT A PLACE! WHAT A FAMILY! People - there's nothing to wait for! Apart from that - the room is beautiful, clean, the bathroom looks like a spa... and this view of the sun rising... We highly recommend it! 🙌

okay where do you start? Ruwan is an exceptional host, he is engaging and passionate. in the morning he offered to show us his land. Do not miss this opportunity you will learn so so much and there no hard sell at the end of it, actually he’s trying to sell you nothing, he just wants you to understand that his country is more than just the beaches. The room was spacious and lovely and has a genius floor arrangement in the bathroom. there’s a wonderful terrace with a stunning view and a large table at a height you can work at (important for us)…..and the WiFi is good. if you go, and you must go,your host may also cook you the most amazing dinner of fresh food from his land. well priced and would get a mitchellin star in a restaurant at home. there is a bus stop at the end of the road for busses to Dambulla and Kandy. all in all sorry we were only here for one night

What a stay. Ruwan very attentive from booking and throughout which I was very thankful for. His beautiful family/ village make it even better. Initially booked 2 nights but turned into 4 as activities arranged from there and just so nice to chill with view and nature. Lovely meals (go hungry) and nice aesthetics.

Did find Pick me and Uber would not accept journeys. For short distances Ruwan able to arrange.

We stayed there for 4 nights. The view was amazing you can see the sunrise directly from bed. The room is super clean and really nice. The host Ruwan is an amazing human being. He cooks dinners for you that are delicious 😋.We can only recommend it.

Farm to table experience with the fine hosting by Ruwan and his family. Every day a fresh fruit juice from a fruit tree nearby. My food was picked fresh each day right from their own or a neighboring farm, and prepared to my spice level (zero) and the room was simply spectacular. I came for the view but left with new friends plus the deep peace I’d been longing for. Ruwan even walked me through his village and told me about its history and how they work together for the common good. It was truly an experience with real people in Sri Lanka I will never forget.

This place is THE BEST! Don’t doubt just book :). The area is amazing and the Family is the kindest. You will stay right in the middle of a real Sri lankan farm. It is quite, nature is all around and Ruwan will make time for you to show the surrounding land. You Will meet other farm people that live there. Ruwan is amazing and his Family also! We can’t discribe how lovely this place is. The food they made for dinner and beakfast was sooo good! The room is amazing. You Will have a beautiful clean room with a big window so you can see the land from your room. The place was just so beautiful. The view was very nice. The room with the big window and a very nice detailed bathroom. Wow. We really loved the very clean room, with all the small details. The host has a good eye for details, even his own logo in some of the woodenstuff. The bed was a dream and everything there was so new. We loved the sounds of the nature. Totally local. But still It was not far from Dambulla (cave temple). The host was so nice and friendly. We talked a lot, had fun and he was very helpful. The food was also delicious and typical Sri lankan. So we tasted a lot of different vegetables, some we did not knew before. And the best, everything was from his farm. So fresh, so yummie. It was one of our best homestays and we would go there again and again.
