We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Mankani - the manager and team were very hospitable and welcoming to us throughout our entire stay. We opted to have dinner in both nights and chef's food was incredible. Breakfasts were equally as stunning and flavourful. Lovely small pool area and plenty of spaces to relax, play cards and hang out as a group of four in an exceptionally quiet and serene area.
Nature and clam. No sound at all night time.
I know its nature but frogs are coming in to bathroom.
Nestled amidst a lush jungle, this chalet offered a spacious and cosy retreat. Surrounded by verdant greenery, the area was idyllic. The helpful staff ensured a pleasant stay and the pool overlooking a paddy field was a highlight, truly worth the price. The peaceful and private setting, punctuated by the soothing sounds of nature, created a truly serene experience.
The entrance road was narrow and rocky.
The villa and the location are very nice. Binura Ashen is a sweetheart, we called him in the middle of the night because we heard some monkeys’ noises and he immediately run to our room. Have dinner at the property because it is delicious. Definitely recommend!
Blankets were not clean, but the staff immediately replaced them
Nothing
Really recommend this beautiful relaxing place located in a truly natural environment. All the staff was very nice and helpful for all our demands (ask for the friendly Ananda for a tuk tuk driver). The cook made top quality Sri Lankan meals and we would definitely coming back in the future.
The isolation and the beauty of the spot was just what we wanted, the pool was wonderfully clean and the villa was more than large enough for us and our daughter.
It’s a very new property so development is still ongoing, access to the property is down a track that some drivers may not be willing to drive down, Fine for a Tultuk tho. The isolation of this property has its down sides, no bottled fluids are sold on site I.e. bottled water and the breakfast/dinners are over priced in comparison to elsewhere on the island. (2500/3000).
The place was very peaceful and just the place we wanted. Clean, beautiful and a very well maintained property. We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very friendly, polite and went out of their way to make us comfortable.
The only thing that a slight inconvenience was the fact that it was far from Dambulla, and I say this because when we were there, there was a fuel crisis, otherwise that wouldn't have been an issue either.
Villa Mankani is an exceptional eco-concept villa in Dambulla, offering a spacious environment perfect for relaxation. It is conveniently located near Dambulla city and the main road, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing family holiday. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Mr. Nalin, the manager, and Mr. Binura were always willing to help throughout our stay. The villa features a beautiful pool and a lovely garden filled with mango trees. We particularly enjoyed the fresh mangoes and delicious mango juice provided during our visit. The rooms are comfortable and consistently follow the eco-concept with wonderful lighting. We highly recommend this location for nature lovers. It is very close to the Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple, though it is a bit further from Pidurangala Rock. The breakfast was a highlight as it was especially tasty.
While Villa Mankani embraces a beautiful eco-concept, there are several areas that require attention to improve the guest experience. The rooms currently lack proper curtains to cover the windows, which feels uncomfortable, especially at night. Even within an eco-concept, guests need the ability to close off their room completely for privacy, as it currently feels too open to the outside. Another significant issue is the lack of mobile service. While the villa offers Wi-Fi, the signal is unfortunately too weak to be usable in the rooms. Safety and maintenance are also concerns. The bathrooms have windows that do not close, and because the property is located so close to the jungle, insects and snakes could easily enter the washroom and the living space. The rooms need to be properly sealed, as there are noticeable gaps at the bottom of the doors. Addressing these privacy and security points would greatly enhance the stay for future visitors
Huge modern place Nice friendly staff Beautiful jungle like scenery
Bad wifi
The rooms are located in a natural surro unding, its beautiful and special. The staff is very kind and helpfull.
Some adjastment needed in shower stream
Very spacious and modern place a bit out of main road in the mango fields. Peaceful and truly lovely. Everything was clean and stuff were super nice. They provided the most amazing dinner and lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend staying there and also ordering dinner!
Wifi sometimes work and sometimes not, but this is due to the fact that you are in the middle of the jungle. Also it would be nice to have a hot water in the shower but I guess it is normal in Srilanka not to have hot shower. However those are just minor remarks and we would for sure once again stay here, without a doubt.
Die wunderschöne Lage in der Natur
Krásné okolí, výhled na rýžové pole a do mangové plantáže.

Camera molto bella e molto spaziosa. Letto enorme e comodissimo.
I liked how professional the staff was and their food. Everyone loved the food.
There was a bit of internet connection issue.
People Decor ok Food
Cleanness Location Felt unfinished
The staff was very very friendly and helpful, and the bedroom is very nice
There are however a lot of things that need improvement: some broken things/things that are not taken care of in the house. For example, you open a closet and find pieces of furniture in there. The living room is unusable during the evening: as soon as you turn a light on you have plenty of insects inside (as the living room is completely open). The bedroom doesn’t have a mosquito net, so during the night we were bothered in our sleep. The WiFi doesn’t work properly.
Personeel was mega behulpzaam envriendelijk.

The place was very calm, quiet, and relaxing. Perfect for a peaceful getaway. The room was spacious and beautifully designed with comfortable chalets that blended nicely with nature. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in a serene environment!
It would be even better if a TV was available in the room
Great location at a mango plantage. Bungalow giving you a full nature experience, so if you can't handle it, take the rooms in the houses. The staff is very kind and helpful, the even prepared dinner exactly according our needs, since we are in a special diet.
Upper windows in the bungalow could be cleaned.
This place in Dambulla is a true hidden gem! It has the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern comfort, all while keeping you close to nature. Binura, the chef, made us feel so cared for with her delicious meals that carried a real motherly touch. Anula was wonderful—always kind, supportive, and quick to help with anything we needed. On top of it all, the villas felt completely safe and welcoming, making our stay so relaxing and memorable.
Very warm and accommodating staffs and facilities especially our room was very spacious, relaxing and comfortable. You will find peace in this place.
None
We stayed two nights at Villa Mankani, it was amazing! The house we had was huge and modern, the bathroom was really nice and it was very clean. Most of the time we were alone and it was so quiet and relaxing. We also ate breakfast and dinner there - both were very delicious. The staff arranged tuk-tuks for us and even organized a trip to see the sunrise at Pidurangala. The location is great too: the Cave Temple and the town center are only about 10 minutes away. Thanks so much for everything – we loved this place and would definitely come again. It was magical!
A comfortable stay not too far from Sigiriya with plenty of space to relax and chill. The team helming this place is absolutely welcoming and warm, too. Food prepared was homely and gives you a flavour of Sri Lankan food.
We had a wonderful stay here while visiting the cave temples, elephant migration and sigira rock. This is a true hidden gem…with just 4 chalets spotted around a mango farm, with a lovely central pool. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to help up us. Whenever we went to the pool towels and water were immediately bought to us, and they happily served us incredible fruit platters when requested (at no additional charge). The manager was really helpful in sorting out transport for us, and advising about the best way to do things, and Anula (the cook) was absolutely fantastic - serving up delicious food every night and delighting in our enjoyment of it. As a family it was wonderful to have a central area between the two rooms with a fridge and sink (and even a stove - but no cooking equipment). We were able to keep drinks and food cold and fresh, and we had somewhere to sit together in the evenings to play games and chat.
Being an eco-resort the hotel does not currently have any drinks available other than water (because they don’t want to use plastic). This just meant we had to buy drinks and keep them in our fridge to drink as wished. On the upside I’m sure this saved us money!
first accommodation, expected cleaner
not clean and the kitchen does not provided any utensils
Highly Recommended! Myself & wife stayed at villa mankani on our anniversary. Villa is located in a very quiet place which made our day much better. Staff was very cooperative and responsive for our requests. Special thanks to Binura for all the needful you have done & Anula Aunty thank you so much for your kindness & the food was mouthwatering. Villa Mankani is a place that you all need to try atleast a time. Thank you so much team !
From the moment we arrived, it was clear: this wasn’t just another stop — this was a place with soul. Hidden in a peaceful mango plantation, the villa is surrounded by nature’s quiet magic: birdsong, trees, and that deep stillness you can only find far from the noise of the world. The villa itself strikes the perfect balance between style and comfort. The pool is serene, the location ideal for exploring the cultural heart of Sri Lanka — Sigiriya, Pidurangala, Dambulla, and more, all easily reached by tuk-tuk. And the food? Anula’s cooking is pure magic. Every meal, bursting with authentic Sri Lankan flavor, felt like a warm hug — especially for our 9-year-old vegetarian daughter, who suddenly ate everything with joy. But what truly made Villa Mankani unforgettable were the people. Nalin — the heart and soul of this place. Yes, he’s the manager, but more than that, he’s the spirit of Villa Mankani. Kind, calm, generous — he made us feel truly seen and at home. We’ve met many wonderful people in Sri Lanka, but Nalin is in a league of his own. Binura — always warm, gentle, ready to help before you even know you need it. Anula — not just a cook, but a mama in spirit, with kindness in every word and every dish. The night guard — greeting us every evening with a smile that made us feel safe and cared for. Animals — three sweet, friendly dogs, and one tiny superstar: Ellie, the dachshund puppy who stole our daughter’s heart. Every morning began with, “Can I go see Ellie now?” When we left, there were tears… And then — the moment that left us speechless: as we were saying goodbye, Nalin quietly handed our daughter a gift — a soft little teddy bear to remember them by. That gesture, so simple and full of love, broke our hearts in the best way. Villa Mankani reminded us that true hospitality isn’t about luxury — it’s about humanity. And that the most unforgettable places are built not of bricks and mortar, but of hearts wide open. Thank you ❤️🙏!
Lovely and quiet place. Superb rooms with perfect bathrooms. Nice pool and very friendly people.
You would have to search very hard to find anything that was not good.
A great place to hangout, spend a weekend with family or even have a day out. The staff is courteous, the food is out of this world the ambience and the atmosphere is very eco friendly, a very unique experience for anyone wanting a get away.
Set in beautiful grounds, the property is fantastic. Room is very spacious and comfortable, staff are amazing and the home-cooked food, made to order is to die for. Pool is very clean and perfect to refresh at the end of the day.
No beverage license yet but we brought our own.
It was a lovely mango farm. It was so calm. The room was a good size. We had dinner and breakfast there and the food was really good. The staff were helpful and organised us tuktuks and drivers so we could do sight seeing.
Everything was perfect
We spent the night in a lovely place and stayed in a chalet that was private and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, and Nalin was especially helpful with everything we needed. The location is peaceful and quiet, away from busy areas, so we drove to get there. During the day, you can spot some monkeys around. We added breakfast to our stay, and it was tasty and filling, with a Sri Lankan-style omelette, different seasonal fruits, and juice. Since I wasn’t feeling well, I asked for ginger tea, and they were nice enough to make it for me.
There were a couple of downsides, though. Since it’s a farmhouse, you might see geckos in the room, so you should be prepared if that bothers you. Also, in the middle of the night, around 4:30 AM, we woke up because our door was shaking. We found out later it was a dog causing it.
Stylish but not yet ready to be marketed.
Room far too small. At some distance from the restaurant. Food was terrible. No alcohol served. Over priced. Villa Mankani has the makings of a great venue, but they are woefully underprepared to run this as a viable hotel. Much effort has gone into the decor and style but they haven't got the facilities or service training required for a decent tourist hotel/destination. Needs some reorganisation
Beautiful room and comfy bed
WiFi connection was patchy - it made planning part of our trip more difficult
It was a very comfortable and hassle free stay. Food was wonderful and the staff was really helpful.
Nothing specific to mention
Lovely Villa, brilliant food, and nice pool
WiFi was almost non-existent
Beautiful surroundings and food was so tasty! Rooms were clean. From kids: I liked the pool and the games near our villa.
It would be good if there are hooks and a clothes rack inside the rooms. There is no wear to hang dirty clothes.
Beautiful buildings, calm surroundings and nature all around!
WiFi very patchy which took some getting used to as we wanted to do further planning of our trip. Though it was nice to settle and unplug after a while.
The location was good and easily accessible and the chalets were nice and beautiful. Surrounding was very calm in the morning of you want to spend some quality time. The staff were very helpful.
Spacious room. Super quiet natural surroundings. Friendly staff yummy breakfast. Pool clean. Tuk tuk driver very helpful.
Nothing
I loved the room
There is no signal. That's the only issue I had. Cz couldn't do our work properly while we are there.
The accommodation is fantastic, It's a beautiful villa set in the heart of nature, surrounded by all kinds of local wildlife. However, what truly stands out is the staff. Nalin and the rest of the team were incredibly attentive. In fact, we had an issue with our car, and they went above and beyond to resolve it, even though they didn't have to. Their exceptional hospitality made our experience truly special.
We loved everything about our stay. The only thing to note is that the accommodation is about a 15-minute drive from Dambulla, the nearest city. Therefore, it's recommended to have a car or a driver to get around easily.
Wide big and spacious rooms. Amazing food. Away from the hustle and bustle, very quiet. The name Villa Mankani by Oasis speaks for itself, indeed an Oasis with a swimming pool and close by lake to explore. Sigiriya rock is about 30 minutes from Dambulla centre on a tuktuk, this will probably save you money. It is worth going to Polonnaruwa (you need 2 hours travel time to and from and 2 hours tour) spend a day by visiting both the Sigiriya lion rock and the cave rock temple next to the golden temple. Big thanks to Nalin and his team who made our stay comfortable and relaxing.
Nothing to dislike. As there is internet connection in the common area. They are awaiting broadband access from each rooms as the local internet company provider is very slow with installation.
Very quiet and a lovely environment
The whole stay was great , good helpful staff including the guy at the gate .
Great set up and facilities, very good food. Thank you so much for a fantastic stay, we really enjoyed it. Thank you!
For some travellers, the availability of wine and/or beer would be great with dinner. Might be worth noting this so that travellers know to bring in advance.
The villa is very tastefully done to fit into its beautiful surroundings. The rooms are clean and everything was beautifully finished. The Sri Lankan breakfast was also delicious, with great hospitality from everyone at Villa Mankani. Thank you for a great stay, and we'll see you soon!

Everything is beautifully designed and staff were great
It's a new property in the jungle. Great experience to be there.
Need some more time to settle, as this property needs lawn.
Lovely location with charming Pool area and spacious bungalows ! Very friendly and helpful staff always prepared to go an extra step !
The combination of everything ( nature, location and accommodation )
We had the pleasure of being some of the first guests at this wonderful retreat in Sri Lanka, and we absolutely loved it! The food was exceptional, with a great variety of fresh and delicious Sri Lankan dishes. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. We were also impressed by the attention to detail, including the information provided about the trees on the property, including their Latin names. The architecture was not only pleasing to the eye but also absolutely functional. Additionally, the manager went out of their way to ensure our well-being, as they complimentary called a doctor to check on me after I caught a cold during the train ride. We can't wait to return and experience the hospitality and beauty of this accommodation facility again!
The only minor issue we encountered was the slow internet, but we were still able to use Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube without any major disruptions.
