Alles was goed. Enige minpuntje was luide muziek die je buiten kon horen, maar dat was in de kamers niet hoorbaar.

We loved our two-night stay at Lake Wind. As soon as we arrived, we received a warm welcome from the owners. The place has an amazing view and is very relaxing. We highly recommend getting breakfast, lunch and dinner there as the home cook meals are delicious and generous. Also, the owner can bring you around in his tuk tuk for a very reasonable price. We would definitely come back and recommend staying here :)

"Lake Wind" ist ein wundervoller Ort zum abschalten. Das Gastgeber-Ehepaar war sehr herzlich und jederzeit super bemüht darum, uns einen tollen Aufenthalt zu gewährleisten: Von der Abholung vom Bus-Stopp bis zum Organisieren einer Safari im Minneriya-Nationalpark zu einem fairen Preis. Das Essen war total lecker und das Frühstück auf dem Hochsitz am See ein absolutes Highlight. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wären gerne noch länger geblieben.

Las habitaciones están impecables y están en un entorno excepcional, súper verde con un lago precioso y con varios animales. Tienen una pequeña casita elevada preciosa donde te suben el desayuno cada mañana a la hora que tú les digas. El desayuno está muy muy rico, abundante y variado, y además tienen menú de comida y cena por si queréis comer en el alojamiento. También tienen una estancia/comedor donde hay una nevera pequeña, vasos, hervidor de agua, agua potable y mesas y sillas. El personal, marido y mujer, son dos personas encantadoras, siempre pendientes de que todo esté a tu gusto y que no te falte de nada. Si os alojáis en Habarana o alrededores os recomiendo encarecidamente escoger este lugar 🧡

Alojamiento excelente. La habitación muy amplia, limpia y con muebles para dejar las maletas. La ducha funciona muy bien y con presión. Vistas preciosas al lago, y zona de jardín estupenda donde te preparan un desayuno variado y casero. Los propietarios son encantadores y nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Son muy atentos y te facilitan todo lo que necesitas. De los mejores alojamientos de Sri Lanka.

L'alloggio, praticamente nuovo, era molto pulito e ben curato. Il proprietario e la sua famiglia sono persone meravigliose. Si meritano il massimo solo per l'impegno che ci mettono: sono veramente gentili e cercano di accogliere ogni tua richiesta o esigenza. La colazione è buonissima e molto ricca. Presso la loro struttura è anche possibile cenare con prezzi ottimi e cibi molto gustosi. Il proprietario è disponibile anche a portarti in giro con il suo tuk tuk e nel caso organizza anche gite o safari. Rapporto qualità prezzo imbattibile. Raccomandiamo sicuramente!

Les hôtes étaient les personnes les plus gentilles que nous avons rencontrées au Sri Lanka, même s’ils ne parlaient pas énormément anglais, ils ont tout fait pour communiquer avec nous et nous faire nous sentir comme chez nous. Les chambres sont très propres et fonctionnelles, il y avait une bonne moustiquaire et la clim, ainsi qu’une table ce que nous avons grandement apprécié. Le cadre est magnifique et la nourriture excellente, les petits déjeuners sont copieux et le kottu est l’un des meilleurs que nous avons goûté durant notre séjour. Si vous venez dans la région de Sigiriya n’hésitez pas à venir ici, c’est sincèrement un endroit où l’on se sent forcément bien ! Et le propriétaire possède un tuktuk et pourra donc vous emmener là où vous le souhaitez, tout comme il organise des safaris pour des prix très corrects, encore merci pour tout !

Diamo 10 solo perché di più non si può dare. Un posto incantevole e un'accoglienza unica, Gamini e la sua famiglia si fanno in quattro per gli ospiti. Le camere sono pulitissime e la colazione molto ricca. La posizione è strategica per visitare Sigiriya, Anuradhapura, Dambulla e Polonnaruwa. Inoltre, l'alloggio è vicinissimo all'area safari di Minneriya. Gamini si occupa di accompagnare ovunque gli ospiti con il suo tuk tuk e fornisce ottimi consigli sull'organizzazione del viaggio. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo ottimo.

Los dueños maravillosos, la habitación muy bien, te sientes en la naturaleza (hay un precioso prado con lago en frente). Preparan un desayuno variado y bien hecho, y está cerca de zonas de interés turístico

Struttura immersa nel verde. Una vera e propria oasi. I proprietari sono due persone veramente carine, si prendono cura di tutto e diventa veramente una coccola tutto il soggiorno. Ho viaggiato in coppia e devo dire che sia io che lei siamo stati divinamente. Il cibo è molto buono e i loro succhi sono buonissimi. La stanza veramente linda e pinta, appena siamo entrati ci ha impressionati subito. Posizione ottima per visitare il triangolo culturale, con la super Ape car della Piaggio del proprietario si arriva dappertutto! Oltre al luogo meraviglioso abbiamo apprezzato molto che ci abbiano donato il loro tempo.

Don’t go to the city, come here! We are an Italian couple and we stayed for two nights at Lake Wind, well it was amazing in all the aspects, feels like being part of the family. The place is run by a local couple who will assist you in all your needs. Welcome local homemade mango Juice sets the standards high. Calmness and peace is what you will get here. We also had breakfast and dinner there and everything was cooked by them and it’s the best we tasted up to now, the tree house dining and breakfast were only additional points. We stayed in the detached house and it felt so intimate and cozy, waking up to the morning breeze and looking at the lake directly from the bed has no price. The owners help if you need to go to the city nearby driving you there even though there is no real point in going in the city because everything is already at the accommodation. Kindness flexibility and big smiles are daily bread here. Definetely recommended!!

Heerlijke plek, ontzettend lieve mensen en een perfecte locatie als uitvalsbasis om alles in de omgeving te bezoeken. Zowel de leeuwenrots in het zuiden en Dambula als de oude hoofdstad in het oosten. Het eten was superlekker en vers, het ontbijt was heel uitgebreid. Ook ruime kamers en fijne badkamer die allebei super proper waren bij aankomst! Heel mooi zicht op het meer met vele vogels!

This is a beautiful location right on the lake. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to sit and enjoy the view. The food was delicious. Gamini drove us around when he could to show the sites of the area.

Das war die beste Buchung, die ich je auf Booking gemacht habe. Die Hosts sind so freundlich und das Homestay einfach unglaublich schön.

Ubytovali jsme se ve 3 pokojích, celkem 5 osob. Byli jsme velmi spokojeni ve všech směrech. Majitelé byli velmi milí a ochotní. Nabízeli servírovat jídlo buď ve venkovní jídelně nebo na pěkné netradiční vyhlídce s výhledem na jezero. Porce jídla byly velké a jídlo kvalitní. Pokoje čisté a prostorné s čistou voňavou koupelnou.

Opravdu mne nic nenapadá. Všechny naše požadavky majitel beze zbytku vyplnil. Umožnil nám dřívější check-in i pozdější check-out.

Spacious room, perfect cleanliness, lovely food and the wind over the lake, just as the name says, glorious to feel. We had been a little too warm the preceding days, the wind was a delight. Just like the view over the lake from the breakfast tree house. Gamini was efficient helpfulness itself in organising our plans, including the complex things, like taking 2 Jeeps of local students into Minneriya. Easy access to the park, town, dance performance at the Cultural Centre, and Ritigala Park. (And for Aussies etc who don't know, a large double bed in Sri Lanka is our King size.)

V tomto ubytování jsem byla maximálně spokojená. Všechno bylo dokonale čisté, prostorné a žádný hmyz. Majitelé jsou neuvěřitelně vstřícní, milí a pohostinní lidé, kteří se o nás skvěle starali po celou dobu pobytu. Chtěla bych napsat i nějakou konstruktivní kritiku, aby byla recenze vyvážená, ale upřímně mě nenapadá vůbec nic, co by se dalo vytknout. Vše bylo perfektní. Určitě doporučuji! S majitelem se za dobré peníze dá domluvit na tuktuk, výlety a zprostředkování safary se slony. Okolí je kouzelné. Každý má vlastní terasu s výhledem na jezero, které je výborné pro milovníky ptáků. A ve společné venkovní kuchyňce (lednička, varná konvice, umyvadlo) je neustále k dispozici pitná voda.

The host was very welcoming, helping me arrange a safari in hurulu eco park. The room is clean and facilities are functional. The accommodation is located at lakeside. You can have breakfast while admiring the view.

Non ci sono parole per descrivere la gentilezza e l’accoglienza di Demini e della sua adorabile moglie. Mi hanno fatto sentire come a casa! La colazione è ottima e abbondante e anche la cena è stata squisita. Si può mangiare guardando il lago, tra i rumori della natura e la sera c’è un tramonto fantastico. The location of this property is absolutely stunning... You can hear flocks and flocks of birds calling on the lake as the sun begins to rise. The family of this homestay was incredibly accomodating, setting us up with everything we needed. Fantastic and filling breakfast/dinner. Organised safari guides for us and was also available to transport us via Tuktuk to close locations. Simply incredible, and the neighbourhood this property is located in is totally worth exploring - lots of different birds and animals to run into. If I have the opportunity, I will come back to stay one day.

Vor zwei Jahren dachte ich das Paradies gefunden zu haben. Aber nun musste ich feststellen, dass es einen weiteren fantastischen Ort auf der Welt gibt. Bei der Ankunft waren wir ganz überrascht, dass unser kleines Häuschen quasi direkt am See liegt. Die ganz private Lage und der sehr zuvorkommende Service von Denith (ich hoffe den Namen habe ich richtig geschrieben) und seiner Frau waren einfach unfassbar. Am Abend konnten wir vom Hochsitz, auf dem wir auch essen konnten, von den Liegen aus die Vogelwelt beobachten. Am morgen blühten auf dem ganzen See Lotusblumen. Einfach herrlich zum entspannen nach einem kulturellen Tag. Durch die zentrale Lage konnten wir in kürzester Zeit Dambulla, Sigerija,Anadapura und einen Elefantenpark besuchen. Auch die direkte Umgebung lud zum spazieren gehen ein. Da wir nicht alle Sehenswürdigkeiten geschafft haben, werden wir ganz bestimmt wieder kommen. Die 6 Tage haben uns definitiv gut getan. Delightful location for a smaller family run property on the outskirts of Habarana. Absolutely wonderful peaceful outlook over a water lily lagoon with beautiful water birds. Really friendly and helpful hosts who organised breakfast each day in an elevated platform overlooking the lagoon. Comfortable bedroom with mosquito nets (though I didn't encounter any mosquitoes), modern bathroom, nice outdoor terrace with table and chairs. Excellent base for visiting Pollonaruwa, Sigiriya, Minneriya, and the traditional dance show each evening in the local cultural centre is much better than the very crowded commercial ones at Kandy.

A light that could be turned off from the bed would be useful.

Lake Wind is an incredibly special Guesthouse. Surrounded by a lake and a thousand birds, it is tranquil, peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast at the top of a tree house is magical, beautiful food lovingly prepared. Cold drinks on arrival to quench your thirst. But most importantly, the beautiful hosts Gamini and Jeevani are very precious people with very kind hearts. You are made incredibly welcome, they spoil you with their wonderful hospitality and kindness. So close to all the beautiful National Parks and safaris. Thank you so so much. Paula & John🌸

Danke, danke. Was für ein tolles Homestay. Das Haus ist total sauber und geräumig. Es gibt einen wundervollen Garten mit See. Auf dem Baumhaus, kann man Tiere beobachten, den Vögeln zuhören und einfach genießen. Das Frühstück wurde uns auf dem Baumhaus serviert. Es fehlte uns an nichts. One of the most beautiful, serene and incredibly stunning places we stayed. Lovely, friendly and kind hosts who can’t do enough to help. I can’t describe how picturesque the place is - you have to see for yourself. It is the only place I have stayed and spent the next day deciding how I can make something this beautiful at home. We mostly stayed in high end and well reviewed accommodation which met our expectations during our three week stay in Sri Lanka, but nothing touched us in the way this place did. Truly beautiful and very special place with wonderful souls as hosts.

Wir hatten das Zimmer mit drei Betten (linkes Zimmer). Das Bett war bequem. Ein Moskitonetz vorhanden. Es gab nur wenige Mücken (März), trotz traumhafter Lage direkt am See. Eine Klimaanlage und warme Dusche sind vorhanden. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und geräumig. Die Hauswirte sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben das Frühstück und Abendessen dort genossen. Das bereitgestellte aufbereitete Wasser ist uns bekommen. Der Gastgeber gibt tolle Tips und organisiert Touren zu fairen Preisen. Er fährt auch selbst mit seinem Tuk Tuk. Eine Safari in den nahen Naturpark ist lohnend. Alle Naturliebhaber werden auf ihre Kosten kommen. Am See blühen Seerosen. Vom Freisitz aus lassen sich Adler, Ibis, Eisvögel und viele mehr beobachten. Definitiv ein Platz an den man gerne wiederkommt.

This lake-side retreat was a complete delight. Our hosts could not have been more friendly and helpful. The view from the viewing platform over the water was beautiful and the bird life a joy to watch, The home-made dinners and breakfasts were delicious. We have stayed in many homestays and cannot rate this particular homestay too highly. Superb!

This is one of the best places we stayed in! My partner and I stayed here for four nights, and we felt totally pampered :)) Apart from the amazing room and views, what we absolutely loved were the delicious home-cooked fresh meals and the hospitality of the hosts! He also drove us to Sigiriya, Polonnuwara, and Dambulla for a great price! And later, packed us a little snack for free while leaving. We are definitely coming back here and is a must-stay for anyone travelling through Sri Lanka!

This homestay has a wonderful natural setting in a lush garden on the edge of a lake, about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Habarana. It is peaceful, though there is some low noise from the distant highway and, during my stay, the occasional throb of music from a neighbour. The 3 rooms are clean and comfortable, with both aircon and fans. Good local meals are available. The helpful manager can arrange excursions. Good value for money.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft perfekt in die Natur eingebettet. Einfach ein Traum. Man könnte dort den ganzen Tag sitzen und die Natur beobachten. Die Gastgeber sind sehr liebe Leute und erfüllen einem jeden Wunsch. Das Essen ist wunderbar. Einfach Traumhaft!!!

Emplacement très agréable en bordure d’un lac, environnement très calme, abords très bien entretenus. On se rend facilement à pied à Habarana, 20mn environ. Petits déjeuners et repas excellents. Le propriétaire a un tuk tuk et nous a amenés à plusieurs reprises, notamment à Anaradhapura où il nous a conduits d’un site à l’autre pendant toute la journée, moyennant paiement bien sûr mais prix très raisonnable.

La situation en bordure du lac et la période à laquelle nous y avons sejourné (grosses averses tous les jours) apportent un peu d’humidité dans les chambres.

Die Familie ist sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit, aber nicht aufdringlich. Die Frau kocht fantastisch, wir haben noch nie so gut gegessen und waren schon letztes Jahr in Srilanka. Der Ort ist sehr schön und richtig romantisch. Die drei Zimmer sind perfekt in die Natur eingebunden. Die Lage am See ist wunderschön und die Sonnenuntergänge traumhaft. Die Zimmer lassen keine Wünsche übrig.

The hosts are the nicest people you could meet. They cannot do enough for you. Our bill for 4 nights came to £33 per night. That included a huge breakfast and dinner including dessert each night, fruit juices, a lot of laundry, a whole day tour of Polonnaruwa, trips to Dambulla and Pidurangala Rock (at 4.45am and our host waited for us to come back down). All of the food we had was gorgeous. The room we had was spotless, only built 3 years ago, the shower was good and we had a 6ft very comfortable bed. We also had a lovely deck to sit on with very comfy chairs. The aircon was modern and quiet but we found that we didn’t need to use it. It was cool at night. The setting on the lake is simply stunning. The 3 storey wooden building over the water is perfect for watching a huge variety of birds. My husband has recorded over 30 different birds. We had dinner and breakfast sitting on the deck over the water. Our lovely host drove us to our next homestay in Anuradhapura for the PickMe price and bought us some guava on the way. We left Lake Winds with lovely memories and feeling sad that we couldn’t stay longer. It is paradise. Don’t hesitate to book.

El dueño nos ayudo a reservar el safari en Hurulu a muy buen precio y para nosotros solos. También, la noche que llegamos nos prepararon la cena sin problema. El alojamiento transmite una paz preciosa.

Nous avons passé un super séjour. Chambre très confortable et propre, grand lit, moustiquaire, climatisation. Vue magnifique sur le lac à proximité. Petit déjeuner dans la cabane et petit vent frais qui fait du bien. Hôtes gentils, attentionnés et à l'écoute de vos moindres besoins. 10mn à pied du centre et des restaurants, location de scooter à proximité. Conseils sur les visites aux alentours. Bref un super séjour, on recommande les yeux fermés.

Great service and very helpful hosts. They (a couple) offered and organized for us: Safari, Pollonnaruwa trip and transport to Ella. All at affordable prices. The man is a guide and tuktuk driver, the lady cooks very well :) The location is somewhat far from the main landmarks, but the hosts drive us with tuktuk - no problem. The view from the garden is relaxing and beautiful (the lake and buffalos).

A beautiful homestay with sunset views over the lake. We loved the Breakfast served in a tree house each day. Very clean and comfortable air conditioned rooms with big beds with mosquito nets (didn’t see mosquitos though). Gemani and his wife were such kind and accomodating hosts. They gave us welcome drinks and the most beautiful meals, fresh fruit & juices. They had our favourite traditional SriLankan foods, but there were western foods too. The curry’s had just the right amount of spice for our aussie taste buds with optional chilli toppings to spice it up. Fresh bread, fresh fruit, cold drinks. Everything we could possibly want and very generous servings. Even very cold beer and soft drinks. It became our home away from home after big days exploring. Highly recommend staying here. Thankyou

This was my most welcoming and comfortable stay I have been at in Sri Lanka. Gaminij and his wife really went out of their way to accomodate us in every way possible. They were always available for questions, rides, good advice, and lots of good food. The place is beautiful, sweet and cozy, perfect for a calm and relaxed stay. I cannot recommend it enough.

Ein wunderschönes Fleckchen inmitten der Natur mit viel Liebe errichtet. Ein gemütliches sauberes Zimmer, eine schöne Terasse und verschiedene Sitzplätze im Garten immer mit Blick auf den See. So viele kleine Details, die einfach schön, praktisch und gemütlich sind. Sehr herzliche Gastgeber, die alle Wünsche erfüllen und gute Tipps für die Reiseplanung haben. Und das Essen (Frühstück als auch Dinner) ist sehr sehr lecker und reichhaltig für einen sehr fairen Preis. Wer die Sri Lanka Küche möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Wir würden immer wieder hierher kommen.

Nur das WLAN könnte besser sein, sonst war alles perfekt.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Lake Wind. Gamini and his wife went above and beyond with their hospitality, from the delicious dinner to their help in arranging local excursions, everything was handled with such care. What made my experience even more special was their genuine kindness. We loved our conversations with them about Sri Lanka, our own countries, families, and so many other topics. It felt less like staying at a guesthouse and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. I can’t recommend it highly enough and would love to return again in the future. We had an extremely great time at Lake Wind Homestay. The owners gave us the warmest welcome and showed incredible hospitality throughout our whole stay. The breakfast was absolutely incredible, such as the dinner options which are delicious, abundant and at fair prices. The homestay is very clean, comfortable, and well equipped (AC, hot water, mosquito net, shared fridge and kettle). The environment is peaceful and beautiful; we spent quite some time observing the diverse wildlife roaming around the lake. The owners have thorough knowledge of the region, and good contacts for (cheap) safaris and scooter rental. They were very helpful on many levels, and even drove us to the bus stop at the end of our stay. We definitely recommend staying at Lake Wind Homestay. We had originally booked 2 nights and ended up extending one more. Our stay was an amazing local life experience, and one of the highlights of our trip!

Ооо, я счастлива, что выбрала этот гостевой дом. Это прекрасное, тихое место у озера. Гуляют павлины во дворе. Номер с отдельным входом и террасой, очень чисто, всё отлично работает. Хозяева очень и очень прекрасные, дружелюбные. Еда чудесная ,завтрак накрыли в домике на дереве. Хозяин организовал две отличные экскурсии В дорогу получила большой кокос в подарок.Я очень счастлива. Если бы можно было я бы поставила 100 звёзд!!! Рекомендую для всех кто любит комфорт,уют, релакс на природе. Удачи этому дому!!!

Heel mooie en nette kamer, heel ruim en van alle nodige faciliteiten voorzien. De locatie is perfect om alle bezienswaardigheden in de streek te verkennen. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid en lekker, en je kunt het genieten in een kleine boomhut met uitzicht over het meer.

This is an exceptional place to stay. Run by a beautiful family who are so eager to please. Their food is delicious. The setting is lovely and if interested one can do a cheap tour with them to sights.

We have been very fortunate to stay at this homestay. It has been fantastic! We loved everything: the room, very comfortable, the lush surroundings, the views, the exquisite food, the well-thought-out details, the organization of the tours,... But above all, what we appreciated the most was the care and help the owners gave us. We definitely recommend Lake Wind without any doubt! We’re taking home beautiful memories of our stay in Habarana and we hope to return someday!

Everything was perfect

Nuostabi vieta gamtos prieglobstyje. Atskiri nameliai suteikia privatumo, puikiai sutvarkyta aplinka, švaru tiek viduje, tiek lauko erdvėse. Šeimininkai ypatingai draugiški, paslaugūs ir nuoširdūs, pasirūpins viskuo, kad jūsų kelionė būtų sklandi. Gausūs ir skanūs Šri Lankietiški  pusryčiai pranoko mūsų lūkesčius. Taip pat ir vakarienė, kurią užsisakėme pas šeimininkę. Labai rekomenduojame šią vietą, nes kokybė tikrai pranoksta kainą.

Huge room, which was super clean, thoughtfully laid out and quiet. Gorgeous property with nature everywhere and plenty of places to relax. Absolutely the sweetest hosts who went out of their way to organise trips like a safari, cook incredible food and make us feel comfortable.

The best place we stayed at! The room was spacious and clean. Each room has its own terrace, and there’s also plenty of seating in the beautiful garden. Every morning, we had breakfast in the treehouse overlooking the lake. Gamini and his wife are such lovely hosts. He picked us up from the train station, organized a safari and an Ayurveda treatment for us, and took us on a tour to see Sigiriya/Pidurangala Rock and the temples in Dambulla. His wife prepared delicious dinners and breakfasts for us. They always made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. The Wi-Fi was also good.

Gamini and his wife were amazing! Both so helpful and friendly, and the food was incredible! Great location, very peaceful. They seemed to have thought of everything and were happy to help us throughout our stay. We would definitely stay again! We were picked up from the train station (despite a long delay) and for free, and took a day trip with Gamini and another couple to Sigiryia and Polonnaruwa, and he was friendly and thoughtful throughout! Breakfast was a treat and served in the treehouse with great views overlooking the lake.

A true gem – peaceful, generous, unforgettable Lakewind was an absolutely exceptional stay. The hosts – a kind and attentive couple – take care of everything with love and grace. The place is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and full of thoughtful details. From fresh coconuts and coffee to help with meals and breathtaking views from a treetop terrace – everything was offered with genuine hospitality and without hidden costs. They were always on time, discreet, and incredibly caring, even adjusting meals to fit our dietary needs. One of the most heartfelt and honest places we’ve ever stayed. Highly recommended!

Modern, super clean, quiet with most comfortable beds and big clean bathroom. Lots of space for all my luggage. The surrounding garden and lake is so beautiful. The driveway to the property is all sealed and easy for the low hybrid vehicle our driver had. The hosts are the sweetest couple who provide wonderful food and fresh water and there is a big fridge and kettle in the kitchen/ dining area but there is also the charming little hut on stilts for the memorable sunsets and fabulous breakfasts.

It’s a peaceful oasis which is new and clean and overlooks a beautiful lotus covered lake. There are all kinds of bird life in the garden including wild peacocks. The hosts have created a paradise and were truly the most accommodating and kind hosts we met. We actually moved there from an alternate guest house in Habarana because the first one was in a dreadful state and very noisy. The Lake Wind is just the opposite. We are two older cousins, discerning travellers, seeking comfort at our ages and had the two rooms with lots of space in each suite. Big clean bathroom. We had a delicious dinner cooked by our hosts and then a delicious breakfast served up in a gorgeous hut on stilts overlooking the lake. I recommend this place as the best place to stay if you want to see the sights around Habarana. It’s convenient to all attractions. It’s far enough away from the main road to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep on the big comfortable beds. The showers have good pressure and hot water- unlike the first place we had stayed at. They even provided a plug socket for all shapes of electrical plugs.

Everything is perfect!

The place overlooks in front of the room , which is very spacious and where there is furnitures to put your suitcases . In the morning we have breakfast on a hut on stilts the of the lotus flowers and water lilies , the varius varieties off birds , everything is magnificient . The breakfasts are very good and very generous. The meals are excellent. Our hosts truly adorable, kind . We highly recommend it . 4 nights spent . We regret leaving this place.

Very friendly and helpful owners! The accommodation is very clean and spacious with a peaceful terrace. The view on the nearby wetlands is absolutely stunning and can be fully enjoyed from a little tree house (where breakfast/dinner can be served). The owner is willing to drive you to every nearby major attraction (Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, jeep safari,…etc) and able to make bookings at affordable prices (e.g. a jeep safari is significantly cheaper if you let him do the booking) and has lots of interesting, lesser known suggestions to visit. In addition, his wife makes delicious local breakfast, dinner and drinks at very cheap prices. Heavily recommended!

What a fantastic place. Beatiful and spacious rooms in a gorgeous setting. Food was amazing. The host was able to give advice on trips. Only stayed 2 nights but was so relaxing.

We loved our stay in the property. The host family was very thoughtful of anything that we needed to enjoy our stay. The location is superb, with the view over the lake and good places to walk around local area. The room is spacious, clean and very comfortable. Drinking water in the dinning area. The host has a tuk tuk and he picked us up and dropped to the train station free of charge, as well as drove us to a morning hike to Pidurangala Rock and arranged jeep safari trip. The home food was delicious.

Simply the best homestay in Habarana! The hosts are so kind to us and welcoming, home-cooked food were affordable and delicious, breakfast (included in price) was amazing and you get to enjoy it over the tree tops overlooking the lake. Room was clean and spotless, thank you Lake Wind! 😊

The location of the accommodation is in a quiet nature on the shore of the lake in a beautiful environment. The lady of the house cooks perfectly. The owner takes care of his guests. Maximum satisfaction with stay. Whoever is looking for peace and well-being, I heartily recommend it.
