Très bon emplacement à quelques minutes du rocher du lion

Friendly family homestay! It is located near the Lion Rock and the main area of Sigiriya in a cosy jungle garden. Saman gave us some great tips for activities in the area, even though we did not have much time with only one night here. The room was comfortable and we greatly enjoyed our stay! Also, communication was easy due to good English.

Luogo incantevole immerso nella natura, a due passi da Lion Rock. Staff gentilissimo e super accogliente! Camere ampie e pulitissime, davvero complimenti!

Der Service und die Gastfreundschaft ist Top. Die Lage mit dem wunderschönen Garten ist Top. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist Top. Für mich ist das Sigiri Saman Home Stay insgesamt eine 10. Danke für den angenehmen Aufenthalt 👍 weiter so.

Very close to lion rock and sunset point. Family running this stay is very much passionate about what they do. Food was really great

Friendly and caring family hosts. We were late back one night and our host messaged us on Booking.com but I missed the notifications so he waited to be sure we were ok. He arranged an amazing safari to Miniriya Nature Park where we saw lots of elephants and very young baby ones too! 2 eagles up close and pelican, storks and wild peacocks! Climbed Pidirungala too. What a location!All truly amazing. Deeply grateful 🙏🏾

AC was a little difficult to manage but that being said we were VERY grateful for it!

Nested in lush green forest, for those who enjoy simple stays in nature will love this place. The dinner served was scrumptious. Hosts were friendly. Great value.

Great location, very close to Sigiriya rock so convenient if you want to see sunrise on top of the rock, staying at this place can save you a lot of time. Also close to the main street where you can find a lot of restaurants and cafes, perfect to walk around after the walk up.

Lovely gardens surround this tidy little homestay. Simple but comfortable rooms, excellent dinner if it's available. Short walk to town and Sigiriya Rock. A really pleasant stay.

Struttura molto bella, immersa nel verde e a pochi passi dall'ingresso del sito archeologico di Sygiria e dalla strada principale in cui si trovano i ristoranti (5-10 minuti a piedi). Stanza spaziosa e pulitissima. Proprietario molto gentile e accogliente e pronto a dare ogni informazione e ad organizzare tour, safari e altre attivitá. Colazione molto buona nella tranquillità del portico immerso nel verde.

El personal es lo mejor del alojamiento, aunque el hotel no se queda muy atrás. Tiene todo lo necesario y está cerca de todos los puntos importantes. Los propietarios te facilitan absolutamente todo a buen precio. La comida es muy abundante. Si tenéis pensado quedaros por sigiriya este es el mejor sin duda.

* Location: very close to Sigiriya Lion Rock exit gate * Peaceful surroundings: lot of greenery around the property, giving it a relaxing feel. * Comfortable room: spacious and equipped with AC, mosquito net, WiFi, hot water, blanket, towels, a hair dryer along with books, shoe rack and a first-aid box were available outside the room

Nothing as such. However couple of things: * The approach can be quite dark at night: the path from the main road has limited lighting, so carrying a phone torch or flashlight is advisable. * Cash payment: we paid in cash, so it’s worth keeping some local currency handy.

Vicinissimo al Sigiriya Rock, personale molto gentile che ci ha aiutato nell’organizzare il trasfert e l’escursione. Si può cenare in struttura ad un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo!

at this stay we felt like at home. the staff was so helpful and helped us with the booking of the safari experience. when we arrived at the place it was late and we didn’t have dinner yet, so the owner brought us to the restaurant with his car. the location is also perfect, very close to the lion’s rock.

Posizione molto vicina al Sigirya Rock, raggiungibile comodamente a piedi (300mt). Colazione e cena molto buone: senza possibilità di scelta ma di ottima qualità, con porzioni abbondanti, migliore di ristoranti in zona. Personale molto accogliente e disponibile. Struttura immersa nel verde, molto tranquilla.

Struttura e pulizia del bagno da rivedere. In particolare la doccia non aveva un buon odore. Acqua e Wi-Fi in tarda serata non sempre funzionanti. Ricordarsi di avere a portata di mano contanti per pagare.

Nos ha gustado mucho, estas como en mitad de la selva, en una area de elefantes en libertad y las sensaciones son buenisimas. Además el trato del personal ha sido excepcional.

Really good location. It was green, peaceful and so pretty.

La guesthouse est nichée en pleine nature, il faut donc se méfier des éléphants et prendre systématiquement un tuk tuk pour revenir le soir, ce qui peut être parfois compliqué. La chambre deluxe est spacieuse, mais n’offre pas de point de vue sur l’extérieur. L’espace extérieur est une terrasse partagée. Pour avoir plus d’intimité et profiter de la vue sur le magnifique jardin il vaut mieux réserver les chambres indépendantes de la maison, dans le jardin. La salle de bain était bien pensée avec un rideau de douche pour éviter de mettre de l’eau partout. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux et copieux.

Emplacement exceptionnel au calme dans un magnifique jardin L'hébergement est proche à pied de tous les restaurants et commerces. Le rocher du Lion est facilement accessible à pied directement depuis la guest house. Les petits déjeuners sont copieux et différents chaque matin. Le propriétaire nous a aidées à organiser nos activités. Safari, visite de Dambulla, trajets en tuk tuk pour le rocher de Pirudangala. Gros coup de coeur pour cette guest house.

El personal súper majo, nos dejaron preparados el desayuno antes de que estuviera abierto el propio restaurante, la habitación bastante cómoda y el aire acondicionado funcionaba de maravilla

La struttura è stupenda, immersa nel verde. Il personale è super gentile , attento a tutto. Se dovessi ritornare a Sigiryia , sicuramente ritornerei qui.

The family was very welcoming, helpful, attentive. They even cooked us on request dinner. The accommodation was lovely and clean, close to town, lions rock and Pidurangala.

Only thing was the smell in the bathroom, probably from the drain.

Accomodation looks like in the forest, but it's really close to Lion rock. I believe it could be perfect base for different trips. The owner is really kind and helpful - they try to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was tasty.

There was small ventilation in the bathroom, so it was little bit smelly.

Good value for price.

Accommodation was about 3-4min walking from main road through area where wild elephants can roam. It was close but a bit scary.

Das Saman Home Stay hat eine fantastische Lage mitten im „Dschungel“ und bietet genau die richtige Atmosphäre, um Sigiriya zu genießen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Das Frühstück war hervorragend und liebevoll zubereitet. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Gastgeber Saman. Er ist einzigartig und kümmert sich wirklich um alles. Für uns hat er sogar eine Safari organisiert und stand jederzeit mit hilfreichen Tipps zur Verfügung. Auch der Lion Rock ist von hier aus in nur wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Klare Empfehlung!

De nachtwandeling naar het hotel was wel altijd even spannend. Zo een 200m in het pikkedonker in olifantengebied 🙈

Bellissima guest house a conduzione familiare posizionata di fronte all’ingresso della Lion rock e a 5 a piedi da ristoranti e negozi. Sono tutti molto gentili e pronti ad aiutarti anche per le escursioni e per i trasporti, la colazione è fantastica e cambia qualcosina ogni giorno, è sicuramente la più buona trovata girando lo Sri Lanka! Standard di pulizia per noi italiani mooolto alti!

Ci è piaciuto tutto, l’unica cosa ma non dipende dalla struttura in paese si ha spesso il sentore di poter incorrere in elefanti che vagano 😅

Very peaceful and pretty place. Great location and comfortable stay. The staff were very kind and helpful to book us lots of stuff. The breakfast was amazing!!!!!

The location was great. Short walk to local historic and beautiful places and to town.

The air con often cut out at night. Was hard to operate. Power cut on occasion

Staff Breakfast Amenities

Entrance is a dirt road, which isn't a problem normally but there is a large debris field in the entrance of the road. Then later to get to the property you have to drive over very uneven ground with potholes. We rented a tuktuk and driving was manageable but these holes really should be filled.

Schönes Gasthaus mit freundlichem, zuvorkommendenm Personal. Mir wurde Unterstützung bei der Planung und Organisation des Aufenthaltes geboten. Es hatte warmes Wasser, sogar einen Föhn & das Badezimmer stand nach einer Dusche nicht unter Wasser was für hiesige Verhältnisse aussergewöhnlich ist.

Die Bedienung der Klimaanlage wär etwas mühsam, da die Knöpfe nicht mehr so reagiern, hat aber mit etwas Geduld geklappt. Das Moskitonetz hatte einige Löcher. Die empfohlene Safari war verglichen mit anderen Angeboten ziemlich teuer.

Sigiriya lion rocka yürüme mesafesindeydi. Yemek yemek isterseniz restoranlar hep yürüme mesafesinde. Konumu gerçekten çok iyiydi. Ev sahipleri bize her konuda yardımcı oldular. Tüm ulaşımımızı ev sahibimiz saman ayarladı. Sabah verdikleri kahvaltı gayet güzeldi. Kliması en güzel şeydi. Odamız buz gibiydi. Saman ve ailesine teşekkür ediyoruz. Türk gardaşlarım pahalı tatilden kaçıp sri lankaya geliyorsanız bu otel sizin için çok iyi düşünme yapıştır.

I stayed two nights there and it was pleasant. The location is great, it's very close to the lion rock entrance. Saman, the host is very friendly, we chatted a lot everyday and I enjoyed staying in his garden so much. He also helped me with the money exchange. Also, the shower was the best!

The bed sheet had some stains on it, but not a very big deal

The location was very good.It's around forest so I could be so relaxed. Everymorning I got uo by birds call. The Master and wife were so kind. So cost performance was great!!

It would have been better if the partition between the toilet and shower was thicker.

Die Lage war hervorragend, der Garten wunderschön. Unser Zimmer komfortabel und sehr sauber. Eine kleine Oase in Sigiriya. Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzliche und freundliche Menschen. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Im Bad hat es stark nach Kanalgas gerochen, wodurch auch die Handtücher schnell angefangen haben zu stinken. Nach dem duschen war das ganze Bad nass und es hat lange zum trocknen gebraucht. Das Warmwasser hat gedrungen, man konnte nur das Kaltwasser nutzen. Die Straße hin zur Unterkunft war nicht besonders gut.

I loved the location, felt like you were in the middle of a jungle. It was also very close to a selection of restaurants and great access to attractions.

The bathroom was a little dated.

The owner is so kind and helpful! The place is beautiful, spacious and quiet. The food is great and you can ask for anything and they will try everything they can to make you happy! We enjoyed it and would come back again!

Cet hôtel propose des chambres au milieu de leur magnifique jardin. Accueil exceptionnel, chambres propres et très bon petit déjeuné. Au pied du rocher pour les visites Merci beaucoup !

Hébergement au calme à proximité du rocher du lion. Petit déjeuner copieux Notre hôte nous a organisé, la réservation d'un tuktuk pour aller à Dambulla à un prix correct. Pas de possibilité de prendre le repas du soir mais restaurants à proximité (10 minutes à pieds)

Not enough bath amenities. No shampoo no hair conditioner.

Exceptional. The location was perfect and peaceful, far from crowd. Host was extremely helpful and responsive before the arrival and during the stay. Arranged the early morning tuktuk to go to Sigiriya Lion rock. Breakfast was also delicious. No complains.

A nice place to stay, and near to the Lion rock.

Impossible to find at night as no signage visible on the main road and no lighting whatsoever from the main road to the home stay. A strong torch was needed to avoid the many dangerous pot holes.
