Abbiamo scelto la soluzione con la colazione inclusa e ne é valsa veramente la pena. Si ordina alla padrona di casa la sera prima e si riceve pane e brioche fresche davanti alla porta dell'appartamento. Il frigo è rifornito da latte, succo, burro e marmellata.
L'edificio non ha ascensore quindi è scomodo salire le scale con le valigie.

Reviewed May 9, 2026Locatie midden in centrum, parkeren voor de deur als er plek is tegen geringe kosten. Goede communicatie met eigenaars, handig de toegang en sleutelkastjes om binnen te komen.
Veren in matras los, sliep slecht. Ontbijtbonnen van locale bakker, kon alleen maar keuze maken tussen croissant of chocoladebroodjes. Dus moest voor broodjes bijbetalen. Gehorig. Was voor 1 nacht te doen.

The shower room really let down the property. It was not clean as expected ,thejoints in the shower were black, they need to be replaced, it was dirty in corner and around the shower door. The whole room needs updating. No net curtains but rollerblinds, not sure if neighbours opposite could see through the windows.

Reviewed Jan 18, 2026Qua ligging een leuke locatie, paar minuten lopen van de kathedraal vandaan, bijna aan de Schelde. Het appartement is basic maar ruim. Wel gehorig en bij aankomst moesten we wel even zoeken naar een parkeerplaats. Uiteindelijk bij het plein voor het station uitgekomen. Broodjes van de bakker waren lekker, supermarkt om de hoek is ook handig.
We vonden de badkamer echt smerig. Ik voeg wat foto's toe. Ik heb zelf het putje en afdekplaatje schoongemaakt. Was te vies. Laatste foto is dus na mijn schoonmaak. Dit moet beter, kan echt niet qua hygiëne.

The hosts were really understanding and gave great entry instructions. My son said the apartment was very comfortable and clean. He had a choice of having pastries delivered or collecting them from the local bakery, he chose to collect them from the bakery as he had an early start. He said the pastries (croissants and pain au chocolates) were really nice. This apartment is close to the station and great location to explore the very picturesque town of Tournai. Also - excellent value for money!

Le fait de devoir se partager la machine à laver et le sèche linge... Le sèche linge était constamment en train de tourner donc je n'ai pas pu m'en servir, dommage... J'ai donc fait sécher nos vêtements comme j'ai pu...

Reviewed Oct 10, 2025We enjoyed our stay! The host was great with communication and the location worked for us. The apartment was clean, and the breakfast option was a nice bonus. The shower was big with good water pressure (though the drain was clogged & slow), and the kitchen had everything you’d need if you like to cook. A/C available if needed for warmer days.
A few things to note: there was quite a bit of street and interior building noise, especially from doors slamming — it usually quieted down around midnight. If you’re a city dweller, it might not bother you, but lighter sleepers should bring earplugs. The narrow concrete stairs could be tough with heavy luggage, and the shower drain could use a quick clean between guests. The WiFi was also a bit glitchy and slow, so it might not be ideal if you need to work during your stay. Overall, it’s a comfortable spot in a good location with a helpful host — just a few small things to keep in mind!

Muy cerca de los puntos de interés de la ciudad y con una zona de aparcamiento regulado que tampoco es muy cara. El desayuno que elegimos, fue a través de una vales para una panadería cercana. La cual es muy conocida por su calidad.

Reviewed Sep 18, 2025So handy to food and centre of town with bar, carrefours supermarket and wonderful pastry shop only a few metres away and cheap parking right at the foot of the apartment. Scheldt River only a few metres away and we get a glorious view of the notre dame right outside our front door on Rue Royale. Apartment was well furnished and came with breakfast vouchers to get morning pastries or have them delivered which is a lovely touch (that said, I preferred to walk so did not opt for the delivery service). Hosts communicated very clearly, including having an information booklet so check in and out was a breeze. Would highly recommend this Gite.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2025The location was close to the centre of the town, but the other side of the canal with a rising road bridge. Very entertaining to look at the barges going past. Apartment was modern and extremely clean, hot shower, comfortable bed, good lighting and large windows. The kitchen was well provided with equipment plus coffee/juice/milk/butter etc. Free Breakfast vouchers for an excellent bakery a few yards away, plus there is a local Carrefour. The road was quiet and local bars/restaurants were cheaper this side of the canal. We were able to park outside the apt, paying by the machine (from 9.00 -17.00 first 30 mins FOC - but get a ticket, then €3/3 hrs, no charge over lunch, pay again in the afternoon). Make sure to note the expiry time as there is a €25 fine which has to be paid by IBAN if UK, we paid the lovely owner in cash and it was paid for us. It was a short walk to the centre of the old town, and the cathedral could been seen from the front door.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2024We loved EVERYTHING about this apartment! Our hosts were so lovely and helpful, from detailed check-in instructions to breakfast delivered in the morning. The apartment was safe, lovely, clean, and well appointed with everything we needed for several days in Tournai. The apartment is an easy walk from the train station, with a good connection to Lille. The neighborhood is FANTASTIC, with beautiful buildings, lovely restaurants, and convenient supermarkets. And to top it off, the price was excellent. We would 100% return to this apartment the next time we are in Tournai!
The stairwell is a bit noisy and echoed quite a bit, but we were lucky to not have any late-night neighbors tromping up and down the stairs (but I could imagine that with noisier neighbors, it might be a problem). Also, the washing machine is not located IN the apartment, but in the basement of the building -- as a single mom travelling with two kids, that was inconvenient for me, and it would have been good to know about this before we arrived. But overall, a truly fantastic place to stay!

Reviewed Aug 11, 2024So close to all the Tournai sites. A beautiful place, nice and clean. Fluffy towels and lots of information leaflets about Tournai in multiple languages. I also liked that the welcome book explained how everything worked in different languages so it was easy to ensure everything was as we wanted. I highly rate this place to stop in Tournai. We would definitely stop here again! Drinks provided for arrival and my children loved using the coffee pods with the nesquik hot chocolate pods provided. We chose to have pastries from patisserie Vivienne for breakfast (it opens at about 4 or 5am but we went at about 8am) which were obtained using the vouchers. The patisserie was amazing and the selection provided with the vouchers was more than enough and so tasty. A real treat to visit a truly lovely bakery. We also bought some extras at the bakery too as it was so good. The salt and pepper baguette was yummy. Stephanie and Cedric were really great hosts and I received timely messages from them about how to get into the gite and about parking. A great place!

The only very very minor issue we had was with parking our hired car. Weren't too sure about the hours of the on-street parking & decided to put in a QPark about 10 minutes away from the apartment.

Useful supplies left in the fridge plus tea/coffee. Very clean. Very comfortable bed. Perfect location to access the numerous restaurants and bars, plus sights like the cathedral. Tournai is very attractive and within easy reach of the ferries at Dunkirk and Calais, and I would go again.
The apartment is on a well used road so with the window open there is some street noise (cars driving over cobbles) However, it was cool by the evening so with shut windows it is not a problem.
