Reviewed Aug 18, 2026The property is just a short walk from the town centre and the views of the harbour from the apartment are amazing. But it's also just far enough away from town to give a sense of privacy. The apartment furnished all the amenities we needed. Thank you!
The only down side for me was the amount of people that stopped to look into the property as we were trying to unwind at the end of the day. It was easily fixed by closing the curtains, however. And had nothing to do with the property itself, which was wonderful.

Reviewed Jul 21, 2026The location was superb..very central and could walk about and explore the town on foot. I could book in early and hosts got back to me straight away when I requested an earlier book in time. We were just across from the castle and had fantastic views and the boathouse was impeccably clean and quirky interior. We will definitely be back.
The only thing to be mindful of us is that there is no parking at the boathouse itself. However, we got parked very easily around the corner.

Reviewed Jul 13, 2026Wow wow wow. The old no as house is your go to destination. Loved the Accomodation as soon as we opened the door. We were contemplating how to stay extra nights. So close to the beach and castle. Easy walking to centre of town. Highly recommended.

The place smelt of damp and was tired looking. A few wee touches would have been nice. The pans and cookware were old and scratched. Nice place, but it just needed a bit of TLC

The apartment was dark, and smelled a bit musty. It was also cold. There was little natural light. We didn't stay overnight, but booked alternative accommodation.

Reviewed May 25, 2026The location was perfect, we were visiting family who currently works in Carlingford. We spent most of our days out exploring the area. The kitchen was well equipped, the living room comfortably sat four. Loved the bonus of an outside space to drink our morning coffee.
Nothing to report, we only slept and showered so couldn't fault the accommodation.

The only thing I would suggest is a better mattress. Everything else was perfect.

The key box code we were given was incorrect, a phone call to the owner however quickly resolved this issue and we were given the correct code. Due to the studio apartment being close to a main road there was some traffic noise. Although it was advertised as having WiFi it was not available and a request for the access code was not received It would benefit from having a least two full sized hand towels and a bread knife.

The bed was very comfortable, the shower was powerful, and the cooking facilities were very convenient, not that we used them much what with all of the excellent restaurants in Carlingford! The parking was also very convenient. We look forward to returning to The Old Boathouse in the future.
