Varam Homestay in Madikeri (Coorg), gave the comfort and warmth of home. It's a simple, yet well maintained property. Pradeep and his wife, the caretakers and the property owners took good care of us and hospitable people. I will recommend it to anyone with a small family to consider this property.

The location is a little far from the bus stand, requiring an autorickshaw.

The owners were really helpful, friendly and gave us lot of information about places to visit.

I don't usually write reviews, but this place truly deserves one. I was a bit skeptical when I first came across the property, but I'm so glad I booked it. The room exceeded my expectations—it was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was absolutely top-notch. If you're traveling as a group of three, I honestly believe this is one of the best places you can stay in this price range. Highly recommended!

We had a very pleasant stay at this homestay. It is a great choice for small families or couples of 2–3 people. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Madikeri and next to the Omkareshwara Temple. Popular attractions like Raja's Seat, Madikeri Fort, and the main market are all within a short distance, making sightseeing very convenient. The hosts were very welcoming, polite, and helpful throughout our stay. The homestay was clean and well-maintained. Useful facilities like a refrigerator and water purifier were also available, which made our stay more comfortable.

Mr Pradeep and his wife Usha were fantastic hosts! The location was perfect ; walking distance to the main town square and right next to the Shri Omkareswara temple. The property was spotless and so well equipped and organized, and the breakfast and hospitality was among the best I have experienced. 10/10 and thanks for the lovely energy and warmth!

Good location and well setup apartment.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Filtered water, fridge to keep it cool. Cooking facilities if you need them. Then there is the balcony where you can watch the comings and goings at the temple opposite. Not only do you get all this, in addition there is the wonderful hospitality and helpfulness of Pradeep and Usha. They provided me suggestions on places to visit nearby. Then there are the lovely home cooked breakfasts! Location is good for walking into town or Raja's seat. One of my nicest stays this trip.

This is just me but I react to air fresheners and chemical scents. There is an electronic air freshener in the lounge which Pradeep switched off. The others I put in a draw until I left.

I was there for 2 nights with my parents. They liked the stay here. The hospitality of the hosts, the breakfast, the cleanliness of the house and the location, everything was good. I do not have any negative feedback.

Almost nothing

The hosts have been very friendly and helpful and did everything that so that I could enjoy the homestay (including tips what to do in and around Coorg). The breakfast was very good with home-made Dosa. In the evening I was offered dinner that I really enjoyed a lot. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

I personally would have enjoyed a separate shower - but that is only a minor point.

The location of the property is one of the best in Madikeri as it’s in the city centre and a lot of tourist destinations are at walkable distance. The facilities were pretty good and the cleanliness was top notch. The host and his family were really welcoming and made our stay extremely comfortable. Will definitely recommend everyone to give this a shot, you won’t regret it.

The Homestay is centrally located and is within walkable distance to some of the attractions. The hospitality is on an another level, I have seen such great hospitality and care, they take care of you like family. Very nice people with a great passion. I loved the stay and the family.

Pradeep and family was an awesome host. My family (all ladies) travelled and they felt very safe and comfortable at Varam. The rooms were clean and comfortable and host ensured every one felt at home. Homely breakfast also was served which was the icing in the cake. We felt truly elated during our stay at Varam Homestay. From the moment we arrived, Mr. Pradeep and Mrs Usha treated us like family, not just guests. The home is tidy, spacious, and has a warm, welcoming vibe—with a small kitchen that added to the homely comfort. The location is perfect, close to Omkareshwara Temple, and the serene mornings and quiet evenings were simply therapeutic. What made our stay special was the personal touch in everything—from their kind words to the tasty homemade breakfast. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days. We are leaving with grateful hearts and a promise to return.

We had a wonderful experience at this homestay! The place was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The host was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. We especially loved the home-cooked breakfast.

Perfect central location near the main Shri Omkareshwara Swamy Temple. Really nice well equiped apartment with balcony, big comfy bed and very clean; even providing filtered water and toiletries. Pradeep and Usha could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Such a lovely family. Usha made us fabulous breakfast every morning and great coffee whenever you needed it. Pradeep even gave me a lift on the back of his scooter to the bike rental shop! He was also happy to recommend local restaurants and places of interest to visit.

The property is in a quiet location but still very central and well equipped . The water purifier was extremely useful. The absolute plus, as mentioned in other reviews , are Pradeep and Usha. Nobody could be more welcoming and helpful. They were very helpful in their knowledge of places to visit, local transport and restaurants and arranging an onward car and tuk Turks for us. It just took the hassle out of everything.

We had an amazing stay at this homestay! The place was spotlessly clean and incredibly well-maintained. The location was perfect - just a short walk to Raja Seat and the nearby town. Initially, I thought it was 2BHK home. Actually, it’s 1BHK home. They fixed extra bed at Kitchen. We expected Tamil Nadu Sambar . However, it’s different. Our kids not experienced. Rest all fine. Nobody match their kind hospitality

Both Pradeep and his wife are excellent hosts. Served us excellent coffee and breakfast. On our request she also arranged a tasty vegetarian dinner for us. The apartment is spotlessly clean and so was the linen. Place is comfortable for 3 adults. Located centrally in Madikeri - walking distance to attractions in town and short drives from other attractions. Pradeep helped us to plan our 3 days in a productive way.

Exceptional homestay, attention to the details is top notch. The place is better than looks on the pictures, would book it again for a longer stay without a doubt.

It was located quite close to all amenities. Both Pradeep and Usha were extremely hospitable. They took care of all requests with a smile and very helpful. The breakfast was quite sumptuous and wholesome.

Our stay at the Homestay was excellent. Location- Right next to the Omkareshwar temple, very close to bus stop and main town. All good restuarants nearby. It's ten on ten Accomodation- very cozy and comfortable. As picture perfect as shown. Cleaning was done on regular basis Hospitality- This is beyond description. Although this was our first visit, we felt like going back to our families. Their hospitality made us feel like we were at home. They kept all our requests, answered all our calls. They arranged cab and jeep for our sightseeing too. Pradeep Sir, Usha ma'am, aunty and Shimak I learnt the meaning of kindness, humanity and friendliness all over again from you all. You will always be in my memory. Your example inspired us to strive to embody those qualities in our own life. Food- This deserves a special appreciation too. We had included breakfast which was delectable. I have been living in Bangalore for the last 7 years, I had never tasted that great South Indian cuisine. Homely, rich flavors, full of love. The food beats the best heritage restuarants too. On our request they also prepared dinner for us one evening. Overall, it was an excellent stay way beyond our expectations. Pradeep Sir and family thank you for giving us this memory and taking care of all our requests. You are wonderful people, we wish you all the best !

I stayed with my mother, wife and 2 kids. Location at center, easly accessable, quite place, rooms well arranged, comfortable and clean. It’s a cosy apartment at first floor with 1 bedroom, living room and another single bed in the kitchen. Very well maintained and exceptionally clean. The host/owners Pradeep ji and his wife Usha who live on the ground floor are very generous and always ready to help you. Pradeep is so proactive that he will share information that you didn’t even know you needed. Usha made lovely breakfast. They both have loads of tips and knowledge about the area. Although we had a car, Pradeep suggested and arranged a Jeep for us to Mandalpatti which was a good value/decision. There are lots of good restaurants at a walking distance and Omkareshwara temple is right next door. All in all it was a lovely stay. Highly recommend to fellow travellers.
