The house is warm, new, clean and comfortable. The owner was nice.
The accommodation is for 2-3 people, not for 4. There were 2 chairs, 3 plates, 3 spoons, 3 forks. No paper towels, no tea towels. 2 huge knives
V quiet location, private and safe parking. Nice view of green field out the window and even a vintage John Deere passed up the road. A decent sized TV (you'd be surprised how many places have tiny TVs!) Decent shower, loads of towels - another thing that can be scarce elsewhere. V warm, comfortable and a well fitted kitchen. Lovely job.
Its clean has everything you need and was in a perfect location for us.
Spotless and very comfortable
Na, the only thing that would have made our stay even better was to be left a small drop of milk in the fridge for tea/ coffee.
We loved the peace and quiet of the beautiful Irish countryside as we live in the comparative ugliness of city suburbs in greater Dublin . It was a very therapeutic 2 day/ night stay in Carraig House,Mullaroan ,self catering with the village of Granard down the road for the little bit of socialising as ye do in an Irish pub with Irish traditional music . Look, its a great way to walk, talk and explore a part of Ireland, off the beaten track on the borders of Cavan/ Longford/ Westmeath ; Lake country, with Carraig House as your self catering base . Noow that we had a 2 night taste we will be back to explore some more. A great ,comfortable ,clean place to stay at very reasonable prices.
Our stay was too short .
Carraig House is fabulous pace to stay if you like peace and quiet and fresh air. The accommodation is appointed to a very high standard and it's so spacious that it feels like the guest has the same amount of space as if at home. Having a separate livingroom and kitchen is not the norm in my experience of staying away in this of accommodation. A washing machine is a good extra for anyone planning to stay for several days.
There wasn't much that I disliked. When I, who had travelled a long distance to enjoy the local area arrived, it would have been a nice touch to have a little more in the way of a snack left for the guest. It's spacious, modern accommodation, but "the icing on the cake", pardon the pun, would have been perhaps a couple of scones, a little dairy spread and a few portions of jam. I understand that guessing at people's dietary requirements today came be impossible, but I hope there are some little snacks to be chosen from nowadays that would be pleasing to most.
It was a proper home and all details considered.. It was brilliant!
Can't think of anything really
Place was that immaculate, you could smell it! Host very kindly arrived with a cot and couldn't have been nicer. Would highly recommend, everything you need is there. Powerful shower, tv, including Netflix. Kettle, toaster, microwave. Couple of good places to eat and they are about 10 mins away. We will definitely be back.
Very clean and spacious
Nothing
Comfortable, spacious, clean, host provided good service, value for my money. I totally enjoyed my stay... I look forward to staying again
Amazing apartment and incredible clean.
The site is remote, perfect for what we were looking for, but there is not 'walk to the shop or local pub', however it is just off a main road, and there is easy parking for the accomodation. There are 3 spacious rooms (bedroom with ensuite, living room and kitchen) and all are well supplied. The bed is really comfortable, and plenty of towels were provided. Usual bathroom supplies include shampoo, conditioner and body wash, plus a variety of other items that I assume have been left by previous guests. The Living room was comfortable and cosy, with a great view when the blind and curtains were open. TV had Freeview and Netflix available, so plenty of options. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment (fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, washing machine), there are also basic items such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, washing powder, tea bags, coffee, sugar). We cooked and ate there most evenings. The location is very central to Ireland, meaning it's about 1½ hours to Dublin park and ride and similar to Galway. There are other, closer gems though, such as Athlone with the castle and Longford (visit the Tourist Information Centre if you visit there, they are so friendly, and there is a tour of the town available on a headset that they give away. There are lots of walks and canoeing opportunities in the area. The host was always available and friendly, answering my (very few) questions promptly.
I wasn't sure what to do with recycling as there was only one bin and it wasn't mentioned, however, this was cleared up by the host really quickly. The main freezer (in the fridge) is broken, but there is no signage, however there is a second, fully functional freezer available, so it's not a big issue.
Lovely clean apartment. Megan was very accommodating and dropped us to collect our car. Great stay.
Tv and cooking facilities were a level up from what was expected
The place was nice a comfortable nice area
Their was a mouse in the apartment which really frightened my girlfriend she could not relax so we had to get up and leave no showers or breakfast as she couldn't relax. I understand these things happen but I contacted the owners by text and the didn't even reply i wasn't going to write a review but I think it's very bad on the owners part that they didn't even contact us back I wouldn't be staying in this property again
clean property, very accommodating and kind host
I liked the accommodation it was clean comfortable and there was chocolate left for the boys Megan answered any questions promptly and was cheerful.the Tv and netflicks for the childrenwas great over the holidays.we were near familyand Cavan a plus.i would recommend Carraig house a nice little gem in a good location.😀🎄🎄🎄👍🏻
The only little thing there was no recycling bin to put cardboard but we managed.
Home from home
Lovely quiet location, but still close to major routes, very clean, easy to gain access, good communication from owners ,very reasonable price, well worth the money
Everything. It was spacious, comfortable & felt like home away from home.
Nothing
Beautiful quiet area with no distractions. House was lovely, very homely. Owners were very accommodating.
Nothing to dislike.
Really lovely spot quite and peaceful like a home away from home owner was friendly and accommodating great value for money will definitely return
Accommodation was not ready. We could not stay there.
Very comfortable
Comfort cleanliness staff
Difficult to get taxi from pub in Granard
The accommodation was clean, homely, comfortable and had everything in it. It was like home from home.
Everything was great
very friendly and very helpful, lovely place to stay
As a female business traveller the top thing for me is comfort & safety. The annex is attached to the house however it is totally private so although I had privacy I also felt safe in the knowledge that hosts were next door!! Everything here is fantastic, sitting room cosy, good kitchen, comfy mattress & stunning views. 30 seconds away from N55 so perfect spot!! I would happily pay more to stay here!!
Nothing I didn't like
Everything. Just perfect to be honest.
Not a thing
Spacious and had everything we needed
Nothing, all was great!
Everything from start too finish was perfect. All you could possible need for a stay was available at this property. We even stayed a second night.
Nothing everything was perfect
Great place, good location with lots of little unexpected extras such as shampoo, coffee and toilet roll provided! Plus Megan was great, checking that we were happy, and offering suggestions for us to keep our kids entertained! She also arranged for a blow up bed for my children which was very helpful qnd quick to answer any questions :)
There was opened food in the fridge when we arrived..the bathroom extractor fan didn't work which meant it was suffering from damp and black mould..however, that said, it was a great shower!
Good cosy apartment
Fridge wasn't cleaned
Well maintained property instructions for Check-in good. In side rooms comfortable and clean plenty of cooking utensils.Tv living room and bedroom Netflix A Plus. Country side property with large garden and good direction for shop and dining nearby. We will return --------.
Nothing. All Good.
This property far exceeded any expectation that we had for the price we paid. It was like a luxury suite in a 5 star hotel. Equipped with everything one could reasonably expect of a self -catering property and so much more. Cannot recommend this property enough.
I loved everything.
We could not find a cutting board and a good bread knife
Beautiful apartment. Felt like home. It was spotless clean.
Megan was very welcoming and accommodating to our stay, great knowledge of the local area. House was spotless and were allowed use of full kitchen facilities which felt right at home. Lovely quiet area and very close to bypass and very easy to get to.
Beautifully appointed apartment. It had everything I needed. Very clean, in a lovely quiet countryside setting.
Very clean and easy to find.

The host
Good location for us as we were attending a birthday party nearby
We could hear people talking in the early hours of the morning im presuming the host had visitors over
Big, warm apartment with well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed.
Definitely weather. Dishwasher would be useful. Hard to move somewhere without a car.
I love everything will definitely be back
Nothing
Lovely rural location and very peaceful. Just what we were looking for after Dublin. Didn't see our hosts as they were out at work likely and just left to get on with things but we knew we could go to them if we had a problem which we didn't.
Small complaint re the bed being to firm for me and left me stiff in the mornings but my husband found it fine. Mattresses are such a personal preference.
Perfect place evrething is clean and beautiful need to enjoy every people !!!
The apartment was perfect. Clean tidy. Warm exactly as advertised.
Location was good. Host welcoming. All you needed was there, soap etc all provided. Good quality linens.
A spatula/fish slice needed in the kitchen!
