Perfect location to see the wineries. Gorgeous cottage with everything we needed plus more. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Delicious breakfast and a few extras. Highly recommend abd we'll be back!

Everything. Excellent location, cottage was very comfortable for our stay. Hosts are exceptional. Very friendly, accommodating and very helpful with local recommendations. Provisions for breakfast were excellent, along with some very special extra homemade treats that were absolutely delicious. Those extra touches were delightful. The gardens were beautiful for a walk around and don't miss feeding the sheep, another highlight. We thoroughly recommend a stay at Quail Cottage and are already planning our return. Thank you so much Andy and Mary Ann for a wonderful stay. We can't wait to stay again ❤️

We were met by Andy and everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. The attention to detail of the cottage and the food and drink left for us was fabulous. We can not rate this highly enough. The view was spectacular. Perfect for a couple.

Maryann and Andy are fantastic hosts. They helped us in so many ways - went well beyond what anyone could have expected. Fantastic. The cottage is lovely, extremely well equipped and stocked, with stunning views. We loved every minute of our stay!

Having been attracted to Quail Run Cottage by the excellent reviews, I was expecting great; we certainly got that. This was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in. The fridge was well stocked for full breakfasts, but also there was a bottle of local wine, a couple of lagers, juice and delicious preserves. Teas, coffee and hot chocolate too. And to top it off, some yummy cake. But I guess the food isn’t the main attraction; that’d be the view to die for. It is heavenly. The cottage itself is roomy, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our hosts, Andy and Mary Ann have lovingly created an absolute treasure and their love for their home is clearly evident. I cannot recommend Quail Run Cottage highly enough. It is outstanding. But don’t do what we did and stay just 2 nights, this is at least a 4-nighter.

From the moment I arrived on the property, I felt so welcome. Mary Ann and Andy are amazing hosts and my entire stay was such a highlight! There was no lack of attention to details to make this the most special escape. The cottage came stocked with anything necessary for cooking and even included provisions for the first morning giving those who stayed there time to go to the stores after settling in. The design was so lovely all throughout the space and it felt like home. The kitchen was equipped with stove, oil and balsamic, as well as spices for cooking. There was a nice collection of pots and pans as well as bowls, plates, and even a basket of fruit. There was an espresso machine, a toaster, and a hot water kettle. On the breakfast table, there are guides sharing about the fun things to explore in the area, as well as a welcome book made expertly by the hosts to give even more suggestions and also share several favorite places to visit. The design was so well-thought out and functional that it made cooking so enjoyable and simply just drinking a morning coffee or going to the list of recommendations such a lovely treat! The cottage has a lounge area and overlooks the vineyards. As you venture out on to the patio, you can smell the grapes from the vineyards just down below. The views from the cottage are panoramic and you are surrounded by breathtaking mountains everywhere you look. And for those seeking privacy or extra sleep, there are plantation shudders and dark curtains to hide the light from outside so you can keep dreaming. The bedroom has a bookshelf on one side for the avid reader and the mountains seem to say goodnight you as you drift off to sleep as if bringing you into a storybook yourself. The Bathroom has bathrobes and a walk-in shower waiting for the weary traveler or someone simply seeking to relax and unwind. Most of all what I loved about the property was the phenomenal hosts, Mary Ann and Andy.

There was nothing I did not like about this property. The location was unbelievable in the best way possible, the layout was perfect and so welcoming, the hosts were truly remarkable and unforgettable, no detail was overlooked. It was a rare find and there’s not much like the Quail Run Cottage!

Everything was amazing! The hosts were so lovely and super helpful, all of the little thoughtful extras made it super special, and the property and surroundings were absolutely stunning! Easily one of the best places I've ever stayed.

We booked this cottage based on a recommendation from friends who had stayed there a year prior. It was an excellent recommendation! Andy and Mary Ann were super and the accommodations were beyond our expectations. The rural hilltop views of the wine fields below were amazing. Although no meals were served, the hosts provided everything you would need to make your own breakfast for several days - bacon, eggs, bread, yogurt, jams and jellies, milk, several large servings of juices, etc. Upon arrival we were treated with grapes, cheese and crackers, and a bottle of one of the finer bottles of wine in the region. No detail was overlooked and amenities ranged from bathrobes to a heated mattress. Many thanks to Andy and Mary Ann for their hospitality!

The location was very close to many of the vineyards and the private deck had a wonderful view over the valley. The fridge was full of tasty treats, and the bed was super comfy. It was a perfect retreat for a trip to Marlborough.

We had the pleasure of staying in Mary Ann and Andy‘s beautiful guest house for three nights. It was nothing short of magical. They have truly outdone themselves in creating their own little slice of paradise in Marlborough. They are incredibly warm, friendly and generous folks. All of the special “extras” that Mary Ann spoils her guests with really makes this stay stand out for us during our seven weeks on South Island. The sunrises and sunsets from the sweeping deck were positively epic. Loving on Vino the cat and feeding all of the sheep their special treats was icing on the cake. Quail Run Cottage is a 11/10.

The mattress wasn’t the best quality. You could feel and hear all the springs moving around and night.

Spectacular views. Whilst part of the house we felt very private and had our own terrace to sit. We loved the little touches in the kitchen- local and home made produce, olive oils, jams. Decor was very stylish. We very much appreciated being able to do our laundry. And we also enjoyed taking the bikes out and cycling round the vineyards. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hosts Andy and Mary-Anne credit to them both for the effort they have put into their property over 5 years to get it to the standard they have.

What an outstanding place. Mary-Ann and Andy have thought of everything and it was perfect. The view overlooking the vineyards was so lovely and the cottage itself was exceptional. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything for a cooked breakfast, plus coffee machine. Lovely complementary slices and bottle of wine and beer on arrival. There is a little fireplace which keeps the cottage toasty warm on a cold night. The bathroom was very well appointed and the water hot. Mary-Ann and Andy were wonderful hosts, from the time of booking to our farewells they were so lovely. They ensured that we had everything we needed and made us feel so welcome. We totally enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Quail Run Cottage.

superb location in the heart of Marlborough wine region. the best view you can find in the region sitting on hill over looking vineyard and sheep and cows grazing nearby. very relaxing setting.

the bed could be bigger as for two adults the bed is a bit small and the mattress could be a bit more solid. but that's our personal preference

I loved everything about the place. From the time we booked we had clear and very friendly communication with the owners and they helped us choose some restaurants. Upon arrival we loved that the host was there to show us around and again suggest places to see and visit. The accommodation was tastefully decorated with all details thought of. We had a wonderful time and all too short but we would love to return again soon.

The view, the Cottage, the homemade food, Andy the owner and everything about the Cottage. We really enjoyed our time in and arround Marlborough Sounds and the cottage.

This is indeed a beautiful cottage, lovingly designed and decorated, with stunning vineyard views - just as described and photographed. The hosts are most generous with everything you could need, including fresh local produce and a bottle of wine, as well as knowledgeable recommendations of food and wine experiences in the Renwick region of Marlborough.

Bikes were a plus and we strolled down to the vineyards and the hosts let us feed their sheep some treats! Great hosts and I would strongly recommend this place to anyone wanting to have an amazing experience in Blenheim. I really hope to come again!

Andy & Mary - Anne are the best host’s we have ever encountered over the years. There beautiful accomodation (Quail Run) is absolutely fabulous. Nothing has been missed here, the place is spotless, the fridge is full & the view from the deck with a glass of wine is to die for. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast provisions were included in the fridge along with fresh fruit, tea, coffee and a complimentary bottle of wine. The view was great and it was very cosy with an electric heater and wood fire.

The overall space was a little tight probably because we had 2 big bags and some lighter luggage.

Enjoyed everything about the accommodation, best of all were Andy and Mary-anne. They were friendly, fun, and went out of their way to help me get into town when I was without a car. We shared a wine with them and felt like we had new friends. The views were spectacular and the accommodation was luxurious and very well done. Thank you for being awesome hosts.
