The hostel was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was convenient, and everything was exactly as expected. Very good breakfast. It was very good value for money. I would definitely stay here again!

Diese Unterkunft war für uns wie nachhause kommen! Wohler kann man sich nicht fühlen. Absolut tolle Familie mit Hund, die wir mehr als nur ins Herz geschlossen haben. Es war sehr sauber und toll ausgestattet und der Duft im Zimmer war einfach toll. Hier wollten wir tatsächlich garnicht mehr weg. Das Frühstück war fantastisch und so viel, dass wir es nie ganz geschafft haben. Wir haben jederzeit Tee, Kaffee oder auch nur heißes Wasser angeboten bekommen. Es war richtig vertraut und total herzlich. Der Sohn „Sahan“ der sich hauptsächlich um alles kümmerte, organisierte uns auch einen Scooter, zeigte uns den besten Surflehrer am Hiriketiya Beach und leistete uns abends auf unserer Terrasse Gesellschaft, was für uns eine tolle Bereicherung war. Es war wirklich eine tolle Verbindung die wir zur Familie und vor allem zu Sahan aufgebaut haben. Auch der Hund hat uns behandelt als würden wir zur Familie gehören, denn auch zum Strand wurden wir immer von „Rex“ („ReggaeRex“, weil er Dreads hat;)) begleitet. Auch die Lage war absolut fantastisch, du hast alles in der Nähe und kannst vieles erreichen und erleben. Wir haben hier sicher über 60 Affen beobachtet, denn direkt vor unserer Terrasse haben sie den Mangobaum geplündert, selbst vom Bett aus habe wir sie beobachtet. Es war absolut magisch! Direkt unten an der Straße, an der Einfahrt der Unterkunft, befindet sich das Restaurant „Mama“ dort haben wir mehrfach gut gegessen, mit riesigen Portionen und die frischesten „Hoppers“ überhaupt im kleinen Wagen vor dem Restaurant gehabt. Am Turtlebeach, der fußläufig zu erreichen ist, gibt es tolle Beachbars und Resaurants. Der Hiriketiya Beach ist mit dem Scooter in Max 10 min zu erreichen. Hervorheben möchten wir dort den Surflehrer „Rahul“ bei den Jungs direkt an der „Ruine“ gelegen, haben wir eine erstklassige Surfstunde erlebt. Dort kannst du den Surf/Strandtag mit guten Drinks und Liegemöglichkeiten genießen. Wir sagen es ehrlich, hier fühlst du dich rundum wohl.

Absolument tout était merveilleux ! La famille est adorable, la chambre est très propre et très confortable, on capte la wifi dans tout le logement, l’emplacement est parfait, à 3min de la plage (plage depuis laquelle on peut nager avec des tortues). Je recommande sans hésitation, merci à la famille qui nous a accueilli !!

Замечательное расположение: рядом и тот самый пляж с черепахами, немноголюдный и чистый, и несколько кафе в пешей доступности. С балкона здорово наблюдать за обезьянами и белками. Отдельная благодарность хозяевам гостевого дома - сервис лучше любого пятизвездочного отеля! Невероятно приветливая, теплая семья. Нам помогали со всеми возникающими вопросами, угощали кокосами и готовили вкуснейшие ужины:) С большой радостью вернемся снова!

Если у вас чувствительный сон, лучше захватить с собой беруши: по ночам иногда лают собаки.

Amazing hosts - generous, warm and always ready to help with anything. Greeted every morning with delicious breakfast (at time of our choosing) and a smile. Awesome location, a few minutes walk from the beach (with wild sea turtles). Comfy beds. AC in one room and fans in both (we were in separate family cabin). Incredible value. Highly recommend!

Ottima guest house a 5 Min dalla spiaggia. I proprietari sono semplicemente spettacolari! Gentili, sorridenti, carinissimi. Stanza amplia e pulita. Colazione abbondante e buonissima. Possibilità di parcheggiare il tuk tuk direttamente in struttura. Ci si sente in famiglia. Assolutamente consigliata.

I felt like home there. Amazing breakfast, comfy bed, room with air-conditioner and also hot shower. Its a lovely family who is running this accommodation. They are well focused on the guest needs. I highly recommend this place - I have extended my stay several times (as my flight got cancelled and I had more days to stay there 🥰)

Wunderschöne Unterkunft und noch viel nettere Gastgeber ♥️ Das Bett ist bequem und die Lage perfekt. Nur ein kurzer Weg zum Strand, an dem man viele Schildkröten im Wasser beobachten kann. Das Frühstück war riesig und super lecker! Das Highlight: Die Mama des Gastgebers hat uns umsonst ein ganz tolles Abendessen mit Nachtisch gekocht, vielen Dank!!

Die Unterkunft ist nahe dem Turtle Beach, 5 Gehminuten. Toller Strand, die Schildkröten kommen direkt an den Beach - ohne Anfüttern. Sehr nette Gastfamilie, außergewöhnlich gutes Frühstück, sehr reichhaltig! Gute Atmosphäre, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Absolut sauber, bequeme Betten mit Moskitonetz. Es gibt eine Terrasse und eine Gemeinschaftsküche mit Terrasse, Gemeinschaftskühlschrank, einen Innenraum - also viele Möglichkeiten sich außerhalb des Zimmers aufzuhalten oder zu essen.

Unser Zimmer war klein. Wenn man mit viel Gepäck reist wie wir, wird’s eng.

Ich weiß nicht, wo wir anfangen sollen: das Haus selbst, das wir bezogen haben, war sehr gut ausgestattet, hatte viel Platz und war ruhig, trotz der guten Lage. Die Familie vor Ort war so unglaublich nett und freundlich, haben sich Wünsche gemerkt und haben einem alle Wünsche erfüllt. Wirklich ganz tolle Menschen. Wir vermissen zudem schon Rex (der Hund) der zweimal am Tag vorbei kam, um sich knuddeln zu lassen. Wir hatten das Glück und hiermit auch die absolute Empfehlung, dort auch - neben dem tollen Frühstück- auch zu Abend zu essen. Wow, authentisch und wahnsinnig lecker. Wir haben dann 3 von 5 Abenden dort gegessen. Top! Lage: weit weg vom Getummel, zu Fuß zum Turtle Beach - kein Problem. Der Strand dort ist gut besucht aber nicht voll - wegen den Schildkröten die dort sind. Eine Bucht weiter ist der Strand Menschenleer - sehr zu empfehlen! Insgesamt waren wir sehr froh, hier gewesen zu sein! Danke!

We had a fantastic stay with the family. They were so unbelievably sweet and helpful. The breakfast was soooo good. Turtle beach is a lovely relaxed beach where we swam with the turtles. Hiriketiya beach is also perfect. And please eat at The Good kitchen at turtle beach. The food is delicious and the service the best!

Such a nice host , spacious clean room , the breakfast was huge and amazing , tea and coffee offered throughout our stay, we only stayed one night but would stay another if we could! Recommend it!

Location is on a quiet street right next to turtle beach. The owners were lovely and made us a delicious breakfast every morning. Shower was hot and the air con was very strong.

Such a lovely spot nestled just across the road by turtle bay! The family were incredibly lovely, generous and attentive, would absolutely recommend. We preferred being here away from the crowds in Heritikiya, which was a bit much. So if you prefer your own speed and more relaxing times this is for you. A nice short walk to Dickwella, which for us is the best spot in the area by far. And the morning turtle swims are a nice plus too.

One of our favorite stays in Sri Lanka, maybe even the most favourite! What stands out is the kindness and hospitality of the family, the amazing breakfast, the clean room and the fact that you can use the upstairs floor with a kitchen and balacony. We had a great stay here and would have extended if there wasnt another booking in our room. Turtle beach in front is a Nice location.

Beautiful house with local architectural details like wooden windows and wooden terrace fencing. The village of Batigama is also very authentic - there are almost no large or even medium-sized hotels, just small houses where local people live and also other small guesthouses. At the same time the guesthouse is very near to the main road that connects all the resorts on the southern coast. The best beaches in the area are Turtle beach in 5 minutes walk (good for relaxation and turtle watching) and Hiriketiya beach which is 3 km away and has bigger waves and surf lifestyle vibe. The family who owns the house is very nice. They make delicious breakfasts and also can help with useful information, such as public transport schedule or facilities in the village. The owners also have a dog that is super cute and friendly!

King Coco is truly a lovely guesthouse, its really clean, they have everything you would need and they pay lots of attention to even the smallest of details. Its super modern, you have a kitchen area/fridge/iron etc. I could easily stay at this place for a very long time. And I haven't mentioned the wonderful family yet, such lovely people. And finally the breakfast. Wow, 10/10 👌 each and every day I was blown away by the amazing breakfast, massive portions and such variety. My stay at King Coco was perfect and I will for sure return again in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay at King CoCo's house - so much so that we extended our stay by an extra night! Sahan and his family were fantastic hosts. They were all very friendly, helpful and attentive. Sahan gave us good recommendations of the local area and even helped us organise our onward travel. The traditional breakfast they served in the morning was always fresh and tasty. It was also really nice to sit and eat on the balcony terrace. The room we stayed in was a decent size with a modern bathroom, both of which were very clean. The location of King CoCo's was fantastic as it was just over the road to Turtle Point so you could be on a really nice, clean, quiet beach (arguably the best beach in the area in my opinion) in minutes. The house was also less than a 10 minute drive in a tuk-tuk to Hiriketiya Beach which had a cool vibe and good surf. We couldn't fault the place - would recommend for a place to stay in Batigama.

Sahan and has family are great hosts and made us feel very welcome, and a very friendly dog. The breakfasts were amazing! 5 minutes walk from a beach where you can swim with turtles, and a short tuktuk away from the main Dikwella town and Hirekitiya. Sahan also got us get on a direct bus to our next location which was really helpful!

I was so happy to find KingCocoHouse as I didn't want to stay in the nearby more crowded beach towns. I was traveling alone and the family was incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and you can enjoy it on their terrace. The room was spotless and it had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beach just across the road is spectacular, peaceful, and not as crowded as other beaches. You can go snorkelling right off the shore and swim with turtles there too! I can highly recommend this homestay! Thank you for everything - I hope to be back soon! :)

Great varied breakfast, but the best of all were the host family! All so friendly and helpful, one of the sons took us out to a secret beach and drove us to the bus station. Clean rooms and a nice terrace. Overall an amazing stay!

Great stay ! Fabulous location right opposite the beach where the turtles are swimming . Can walk 15 minutes left to Dickwella main beach and keep walking another 10 minutes from there to Hiriketiya beach . Few minutes to Mahi mahi restaurant on the beach with a great tree swing . Owners were lovely and very helpful . Helped us sort a tuk tuk onwards to mirissa . The breakfast was big and lovely . Nice balcony with monkeys jumping from roof to roof funny to watch . Would recommend

Sahan and his family are the best. We really felt like we were staying in the house of family members. They were really concerned when I had a cough and made us special teas. The breakfast was fantastic and they organized everything we needed and also a safari. It was very clean and Dickwella as well as Hiritekiya Beach were very easy to get to by TukTuk.

We loved staying here! the family are so lovely and kind, will help you with anything you need. They have a big van that helped us transport our surfboards. the rooms are simple and clean, with AC for those hot nights! Breakfast was fresh and filling, and was really enjoyable sitting on the balcony to eat each morning. a quick walk to the turtle beach across the road, where we swam with turtles. About a 5-10 min tuk tuk into Hiriketiya- very easy.

We have been 1 week in the King Coco. We could not have been living in an other place. We felt so welcome there. The family is unbelievable friendly and helpful and did everything that we feel welcome. We've got the most delicious breakfast ever on our travel and a beautiful accommodation very close to the beach. We can recommend the place absolutely.

Such a lovely family, who do everything they can do make your stay as good as possible! We had problems with the tuktuk and the family helped us inmediately with repairing it! In addition, they also involve you in their daily lives, where I played football with Sahan in the evening with his friends

This is a great location two minutes walk from the turtle beach! On the first day we went to the beach and swam with big turtles, fed them seaweed for free. The room is very clean, bright, has air conditioning and includes breakfast, we did not know about it, but it was a pleasant surprise. The family is very friendly, they have tuk tuk and can take you for the best price. We were also immediately told what places we can visit nearby. Nearby there is a good Mahi-Mahi cafe, we ate there every day. The breakfasts are wonderful. There is a kitchen to cook, guest refrigerator, iron. It is also possible to wash things. This house has everything. Thanks to this house and its inhabitants. We were treated to tea and were very friendly.

Helpful staff that tried their best to please us. Great breakfast and cozy location! Unfortunately some things didn’t go as planned so even though we booked a room with private bathroom we got one without (someone else had gotten ”our” room when we arrived).

The Wi-Fi was really bad sometimes and the place was a bit hard to find at first. The room had no possibility to close the ventilation hatch so you could hear everything that went on outside all night long. Also there was only a wall-placed fan on one side of the bed that didn’t really do so much cooling down.

Everything, owner was really helpful and he even showed me around with his motor bike, his family was great. I loved his dog, was really friendly. I felt safe and comfortable. Breakfast was remarkable, and very much recommended!

On top if what have always been said, I must add that they gave us tuk tuk rides and bike for free, without accepting any tip at the end of our stay. It is the nicest family ever! The house is surrounded by locals, I loved the vibe! Have to give a mention for the great breakfast :)

very hospitable hosts - they met us at the airport and took us to the place in a comfortable minivan, showed us all the useful places nearby, took us on an excursion, prepared delicious food and it was just nice to chat. the rooms are new, clean and tidy. we occupied 2 rooms on the floor, we had a separate terrace with a large table at our disposal. 2 wonderful uncrowded beaches opposite, 2 min walk, calm beautiful lagoons where turtles swim by. highly recommend, we want to come back again!

the best part of this property is the people, the hosts are so accommodating and will do everything they can to show you around the beautiful location. the room was clean and there is a shared kitchen. the host brought us local fruit and soup in the evenings and offer us tea and coffee whenever, also they make an amazing srilankan breakfast. also the closest beach is quiet and stunning

This beautiful homestay is located perfectly within walking distance of Dikwella Town Centre, and Hiriketiya Beach (2km). The family that own the property are wonderfully kind people, we were greeted with tea and cake upon arrival, and shown around their spotless home. There is a covered outside kitchen area to use, and also covered balconies that make the property incredibly cosy. The room itself was very spacious and clean, with a large en-suite bathroom fit with a good pressure shower and towels are provided. The eldest son Sahan speaks the best English and essentially runs the property. A delicious breakfast spread was laid out for us each morning for us to enjoy upon waking up, with a variety of different items each day. The family were so lovely and attentive the whole time, making us feel so at home with frequent refreshments throughout the day and really went the extra mile to ensure we were looked after. If you stay in Dikwella for any length of time, I urge you to stay here, the experience was so enjoyable we stayed an extra night, and would definitely stay there again.

The only thing to bear in mind when staying at this property is as it is new, just make sure you have contact with Sahan in order to get full directions as the property is slightly tucked away off the main road
