Brownstead Cottage

Todo. Te sientes como en casa. Una casa amplia, limpia, rodeada de naturaleza. Decorada con mucho gusto y muy acogedora. Las toallas una maravilla, 3 para cada persona,. Las camas súper cómodas. El baño es enorme, con champú y gel. La cocina equipada, con vistas al jardín y con todo lo necesario para cocinar. Nos dejaron incluso mermelada de la zona y algunos condimentos. Aparcas en la puerta. Los dueños muy amables.

La casita tenía todo lo necesario para hacer que tuviéramos una estancia muy agradable. Está muy bien equipada y el anfitrión Fintan tenía muchos detalles en la casa para los huéspedes. La casa es muy amplia y tiene un jardín precioso. La casa está muy bien situada. A 30 minutos de Dublín en coche y la zona tiene muchos sitios increíbles para visitar.

Very spacious house, not too far from Dublin. Clean and airy, with all facilities you could need. Free coffee, teas, biscuits, and other little treats

The doors were very squeaky which was slightly annoying when someone was going to the bathroom at night, as it would wake us up

The host Fintan, is by far the best host we have ever had. Our car broke down when we arrived. We were 1.5hrs early. Fintan was great and welcomed us in. When we realised our car wasn’t fixable Fintan saved the day. We were staying to celebrate our daughter’s 5th birthday and going to Emerald Park. Fintan was so kind and took us there and back and helped us get groceries. He was amazing with our kids showing them how to feed the fish in the pond. Fintan saved our daughter’s birthday trip. We can’t thank him or recommend him enough. He’s worth his weight in gold. The cottage was amazing, spotlessly clean with loads of space for all the family. We loved it.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié: l'emplacement et le confort du gite ainsi que son jardin magnifique. La maison est spacieuse et coquette et très bien équipée. L'accueil très agréable de nos hôtes. Les conseils avisés et les connaissances de Fintan sur sa région nous ont permis de découvrir les charmes de la vallée de la Boyne. Accès très facile en voiture pour Dublin.

The hosts equipped the fridge with many things for breakfast: ham, cheese, bread, mermelade, milk, coffee, etc.

We enjoyed the countryside location, and having a larger space to ourselves. The kitchen was well stocked with goodies both perishables and packaged goods. Thank you.

We didn't meet the hosts, though the dogs came to say hello.

Very friendly hotst that live next door. Everything you need is available. Beautiful bedrooms, good beds. Beautiful view out front windows in the living room and in the garden.

It took us a while to figure out how to work the shower in the bathroom. It was a system we never saw before ;-) The rest was ok.

Everything, just superb and the owners think of everything to make your stay one to remember, I can not think of a single fault or dislike and highly recommend this cottage, it was so practical and very spacious, the host even provided a little extra milk, bread, butter, jam, the list goes on and on. Thankyou for the wonderful stay.

Lovely spot with plenty of space. Very clean and well equipped. Fintan had kindly left a lot of provisions for us, more than we’ve ever come across before. Very grateful.

Only thought would be a heated towel rail in bathroom to keep towels dry, but other than that we found it excellent.

Härziges Cottage mit schönem Sitzplatz mit Blick in den Garten. Sehr gut ausgestatet, hat auch Waschmaschine und Tumbler. Hilfsbereiter, freundlicher Vermieter. Kaffeekapseln, Brot, Butter, Milch, Käse und Fleich waren schon da für uns. Einfaches Check-in mit Schlüsselbox.

Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier genau richtig. Fintan hat es zu gut mit den Vorräten gemeint, so dass wir das eine oder andere zurück geben mussten. Fintan gab viele Tipps für die vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung.

This amazing little cottage feels much bigger than it appears, it was the perfect size for our family of 5 (48 x2, 21, 18 & 16). It had everything you need for a great stay, even some highland cows out behind the property. We made great use of every inch. We had plenty of towels, the bathroom was a very generous size, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need if you're looking to save money by cooking a few meals. It has a laundry with both washer and dryer which came in very handy for us. The heaters worked so well we couldn't run them for too long before needing to turn them off again and the cottage stayed nice and warm once we did. A lot of care and attention has obviously been put into this place to maximise their guest's experience. We loved it.

More feedback than dislike, but a large towel rack in the bathroom would be handy for bigger groups such as ours.

Les proprietaires sont tres gentils, discrets et charmants. Ils avaient préparé d' appréciables attentions pour notre arrivée. La maison est d une propreté remarquable et agréable à vivre. L'emplacement est idéal pour profiter du parc d attraction voisin et de la visite du site Neolithique de Newgrange.

Very clean and welcoming cottage. We stayed for 4 days to visit relatives living near Duleek.

Location was perfect, supplies was excellent we arrived late and did not have time to stop to get anything. Rooms excellent

El anfitrión tiene el detalle de dejar fruta, leche, cafés y panes de distintos tipos, mantequilla, mermelada, queso, fruta.... lo que facilita mucho como mínimo el desayuno. Además, vive en la casa contigua, por lo que cualquier duda o necesidad la resuelve enseguida. Es una persona muy agradable, te informa de qué zonas de interés hay cerca así como de cualquier duda que le preguntes. Zona muy tranquila, sin ruidos, pero bien comunicada

La limpieza, especialmente en la cocina, necesitaría algo de mejora (soy muy exigente) La calefacción algo complicada de gestionar, sólo funciona durante 3 horas seguidas, pero si estás en la casa cuando empieza a enfriarse, puedes volver a conectarla

Loves everything about the cottage. It was comfortable and cosy. Had everything you could need on arrival. Fintan went above and beyond to make our stay such a pleasant one. Everything there ready to just put the kettle on and to make, cheese ham and tomato sandwiches, even fruit and biscuits and other little surprises. We were there for a family wedding, and Fintan drove us there, even offering to collect us after, and to drive us to the airport. A total gentleman and great host.

I really can't fault anything, it was perfect for what we wanted. Having a car would definitely be best to get around and be independent.

There was plenty of space and storage in the well kept cottage. We had the best time especially the children. They enjoyed playing out the back on the swings/slides and with the 2 dogs. There was plenty of cutlery / plates / cups cooking equipment and we really appreciated the coffee pods and basic foods (bread, cheese, butter, milk, tea, sugar plus washing up) already in the fridge and ready for us on arrival. Fintan and Valerie were very good hosts and very knowledgeable about the area. It was lovely to speak to them. We are already deciding on the next date to come back. Thank you so much.

The cottage was lovely and our hosts could not have been more welcoming and accommodating! Lots of space, Comfortable bed, strong shower, great kitchen and it was great to have a washer & dryer too.

We loved everything about our stay at the Brownstead Cottage.

The property was fabulous, we couldn’t fault it. It had everything traveller requires. There was bread,cheese, ham and jam along with tea, milk and a coffee pod machine, they thought of everything. There was also a washing machine and dryer.

The only thing we didn’t like was the fact we needed another 3 days at least here, with these lovely hosts,

The kitchen was amazingly beautiful and clean . It lacks nothing. The location of the property is great as you have other cottage homes neighboring the property.

There is nothing to improve on. As for me, the place is a perfect, world class accommodation. I and my family received favor that we never experienced ever, in our past travel. The reception was very lovely and the favor cannot be priced.

Een heel huis ter beschikking, dus ruimte genoeg. Kinderen konden gaan slapen zonder dat we hen stoorden. Grote bedden en ruime kamers. Wasmachine ter beschikking, en de hosts leenden even hun wasrekje. Ook hadden ze brood, melk, confituur, boter en kaas voorzien, waardoor we 's ochtends lekker konden ontbijten. De gastheer gaf nog enkele interessante tips voor een restaurant en bezienswaardigheden in de buurt.

We loved the location. Just far enough from Dublin, but close to so many attractions in County Meath. 2 bedrooms, comfortable sofa to convert to a bed. Large bathroom and well appointed kitchen. Suggested sights and visits we also spot on. All made our stay feel like home.

Thank you so much for a lovely stay while we toured Dublin, Bru Na Boinne and Fingal! Hosts were kind and friendly, the cottage was clean and the view was beautiful. Instructions were seamless, straightforward and simple.

Absolutely everything! From the cozy homely feel to the personal welcoming touches, I cannot recommend Brownstead Cottage highly enough! Valerie and Fintan were very welcoming and attentive. They really go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect!

Location was excellent with the access to the garden. Rooms were spacious and neat & tidy. A great place for family to spend holidays. Emerald park was at just 15 mins drive.

The bathroom/toilet lock was broken. This can be sorted easily.

This property had everthing you needed and more. There was bread,butter,tea, coffee and much more. Clean and comfortable. Hosts were very helpful and even drove us to the wedding we were attending.

The hosts are the best! Very friendly and extremely helpful. They're the kind of people you hope will be your hosts, local folks who enjoy meeting people from other countries and are renting out some extra space that they happen to have. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bathroom is great, the apartment is super roomy, very quiet, nice rural area. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to see Newgrange or surrounding sights.

We felt very welcome thanks to the lovely owners and the cosy house. We arrived in the middle of the night due to big flight delay and found ourselves in a warm house, with some bread, cheese, jam, coffee, tea waiting for us in the kitchen. We loved the house.

One of the best places I’ve stayed in. It’s big, clean, has more kitchen equipment than my actual home and it was warm in windy October. We found very good bread and cheese waiting for us in the kitchen. Good communication from the owners and easy to find. Very quiet location. Good base for sightseeing in local area.

It was convenient to a function we were attending. Had all amenities - TV, WiFi, fully stocked kitchen and larder. Our hosts left fresh milk, butter, jam and two small loaves to get us started. Beds were comfortable and the property was spotlessly clean.

Such a lovely stay at this gorgeous cottage. We chose as close to Ballymagarvey wedding venue which is only a 10 minute taxi drive away. Val & Fintan are fabulous hosts & I’ll miss my chats by the fish pond & very grateful for your lift next day to collect my car ❤️. The cottage has everything you need. Very clean, lots of crockery & utensils if you need them. White goods, iron, hair dryer, you name it, it’s all to hand. Super comfy beds, including the pull out sofa. Comfy bedding & towels. A real home from home. The cottage is located on a gorgeous back road, very peaceful & tranquil. Definitely best if you have a car or can hire one to help you get about, but we also used Ubers. We’ll definitely be back…especially for the lovely homemade soda bread that was waiting for us on arrival, along with milk, jam, butter, a really generous & lovely touch to arrive to. Thank you for our stay 🇮🇪

The facilities were quite pleasant. They could accommodate four people for weeks. Clean, comfortable, all appliances, cookware, linens, furniture were well maintained. Great center location for exploring the region. Hosts were helpful, informative and kind. Would return. Highly recommended.

Fabulous little cottage, kitted out with everything needed for a very enjoyable stay, with very friendly and helpful hosts. Ideal location for attending a wedding in Ballmagarvey Village and visiting Emerald park. Also in close proximity to fantasia and Causey Farm. The kids also loved Balrath Woods which are just 5 mins away. Overall we loved it for a family break away.

We loved the cottage! The property is gorgeous, the location is great, and the host was lovely. We had 3 adults, so one of us took the couch, which was very comfortable. Very clean and well taken care of. There was also the most delicious homemade bread waiting for us upon arrival, with butter and jams. We would definitely stay here again!

The property is set on a nice quiet road and only 6 minutes from Ballymagarvey where we were attending a wedding. We hired a car to get to the local shops and pubs in Navan which were close by but would be a bit of a walk so definitely recommend getting some wheels. The owners Valerie and Finton were incredible hosts allowing us to settle in before they popped over from next door and introduced themselves including offering to take us to the wedding venue as taxis can be hit or miss from there. This was very nice of them and helped us have a good, stress free time at our friend’s wedding. The bungalow itself was immaculate and had everything that you’d need to experience a home from home. There were also lots of essentials from the local shop that they kindly had for our use including tea, coffee, bread, milk and much more which was totally unexpected but a really nice touch that we appreciated. We requested a cot for the baby and they had set up a full size one along with a high chair in one of the two bedrooms which was perfect. There were five of us including the baby and we all had only good things to say about this accommodation. Would highly recommended to anyone needing to stay in this location and we thank the hosts for being amazing!!

Struggle getting Taxis or takeaways due to location.

Everything from start to finish was brilliant, we booked weeks in advance,but soon after we booked,the owner,Valarie,messaged us to see if there was anything we needed out of the ordinary. When we arrived the first thing that you notice is how clean and homely the cottage is.Valarie has thought of everything, down to little details as to have fresh milk in the fridge and even freshly made soda bread with locally produced jams and marmalades. The house has absolutely everything you could possibly need for your stay, and the hosts are so welcoming and friendly. It just created a great feel to the stay.i couldn’t recommend this place enough to anyone thinking of going there.

Had a really quiet, relaxing and enjoyable stay at Brownstead Cottage. Both Valerie and Fintan could not have been nicer or more helpful during our stay. We had a really lovely conversation with both of them. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. Beautiful garden outside also. Thank you Valerie for a fabulous stay.
