Beautiful, rustic location! Cozy, updated kitchen and bathrooms. The grounds were exactly what we were hoping for with flowers, trees, and character. It felt so peaceful. The hosts were very responsive and helpful, which we appreciated.
We happen to be visiting during a very hot spell for Ireland (uncontrollable). The second floor rooms were incredibly warm even with the windows open and shades pulled to block the afternoon sun (but not the air). Fans would have been helpful at night as sleeping was difficult on the second floor…but we still loved it!
I loved the cozy olde world feel of the cottage with modern bathrooms and amenities.I enjoyed sitting outside in the countryside yet it's within 15 min to drive shopping if you need.
I would have loved for the outdoor sitting area to have been better maintained for use. The kitchen is small so there's a dorm sized refrigerator. If you're planning on cooking meals, it's not really a good space for that.

Weloved the cottage and the hosts. They were so helpful and kind!
I guess we didn't realias foreigners how far away from everything we were
Beautiful little oasis of rural calm. Exceptionally clean, with good quality appliances, showers etc yet still felt authentically 'old Ireland' Layout of rooms is very spacious, particularly in the twin room. Very easy access to the surrounding area tourist attractions
I would have liked a blind on the roof window in the bedroom
Very comfortable and cozy. Atmospheric . Totally enjoyed our stay. Very clean and well equipped. Heating on and lights on when we arrived - Very welcoming
My mother in law found the steps a bit challenging but didn't detract from our stay
It was very nice and very quiet.
Did not have enough tv stations is the only draw back .
It was quaint with very modern facilities. It was warm and spacious
The window in downstairs bathroom had no blind so very little privacy when showering. Beds creaked but were very comfortable
Was a great central location with lots to see in the surrounding areas. The cottage was very quaint and fit all six adults at not too much of a squeeze.
The upstairs areas were very hot and we ended up purchasing a small fan to use.
Very cosy and charming house, in a beautiful country side. We stayed for two nights and felt at home. Well equiped in general.

We loved everything about this property. It was charming and quaint. Very comfortable and a great location
Nothing it was awesome
The quaint beauty of the cottage and setting.
Liked everything.
Well equiped Quaint old place. We wanted quiet
The driveway was a bit rough…
Perfect for our weekend stay. Comfortable beds and good facilities, two bathrooms which is great.
Lovely old charming coach house.
Fabulous little cottage. Surprisingly spacious and very clean
Parking was difficult especially as we were coming and going in the dark.
The cottage was beautiful, and the fireplace sealed the cozy vibe!
It was hard to find in the dark until we used the Eire code. That would be helpful to put in the check-in instructions.
Spotless, comfortable, well equipped. Location perfect for a wedding at Boyne Hill House. Firewood left for the stove which was a lovely touch.
Everything here was perfect
We loved our stay at the grooms cottage. It was clean and tidy and with great facilities. Lovely peaceful place, an excellent base to visit all the historical sights.
Pretty quirky cottage, lovely bedrooms. Great location for our needs. Good communication with hosts Would definitely stay again
Beds/pillows weren't the comfiest Sofa/chairs in living room could do with upgrading, wasn't very comfy for 4 of us to sit together but we were only there 2 nights so not a huge issue for us.
Quirky but homely and everything you need
Road closure on nearby main road
We really enjoyed our stay in The Groom's cottage. It's very central to all the sites and the hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. We'll definitely be back.
Nothing we didn't like.
Could not fault this cottage we had our 4 grand children with us and they loved it , they played in the garden and had a great time exploring in the trees and bushes. The cottage was very well quipped with everything you need. The beds where great very comfy. My liitle granddaughter loved the cottage that much she went around taking photos so she could keep her memories of it. Would definitely recommend this beautiful place wish we booked a longer stay
The only minor thing was the soffa but i have bad knees found it a little low. Apart from that it was great
Stunning cottage full of character and with absolutely everything you could need for the perfect getaway. The cottage looked lovely from the photos but I feel they actually didn't do the property full justice as it's even more amazing in person. The bedrooms are all a great size with really comfortable bedding and pillows. The living area was bigger than it looked in the photos and full of country charm. I absolutely loved the kitchen, even though it was small it had the perfect layout and was fully equipped with everything you could ask for. We loved the fact that it had both a bathroom and an ensuite especially as a family of 4 it's much more practical than just the one. Showers had great water power and very easy to use. There was also full instructions on the dining table and in the kitchen on how to use the heating, immersion heater and the showers which we found super handy and well explained. We loved having our own little driveway and parking space outside, it really did make it feel more like our own home from home. Beautiful garden area to the front and side and a little patio set too. My kids loved the resident chickens who greeted us with their friendly clucking every day, so sweet. Perfect location for both Emerald Park and Funtasia Waterpark which were both about a 20 minute drive from the cottage. Our most favourite place we've ever stayed in.
Our bed was unbelievably comfortable. It is so peaceful & cosy. It had everything we needed for our stay. Loved the little garden for the kids to run around in.
It's not quite a 3 bedroom house as much as a 2 bedroom with 2 beds on the bright landing. Fine for kids so all good.
in the countryside, very pleasant little house, rather suitable for 4 but it did the trick for 2 nights. very pleasant host
Very well kept older cottage, lots of charm and originality, had everything you needed.
The photos didn't do it justice. The couple who run it are so friendly. The brand new ensuite in the upstairs bedroom is a brilliant addition.
It was actually perfect for our needs.
Close to New Grange and quite relaxing
lovely cottage with good amenities
possibly slightly cold even though the heating was on when we arrived. We never fired up the log burner though and logs were supplied and the fire ready to light. Some lovely touches in the property and comfy beds, friendly hosts
This was a perfect location for visiting the Boyne Valley. The cottage is fantastic, slightly quirky but extremely comfortable and with everything you need. It is beautifully decorated and loved the extra Irish wool blankets dotted around the rooms and as for the chandelier in the bedroom.......just waoh !! The history of the main house and surrounding area, which was supplied by Joe, was an absolutely fascinating read and I did feel that we were walking in the steps of those who went before us. Thanks to Katherine for making us feel so welcome. Would happily return anytime.
The fact that our stay was a short one !!
The house was amazing, so peaceful and comfortable, it had everything you could need. Beds were so comfortable.
Gorgeous cottage. Perfect location for a wedding at the nearby Ballymagarvey Village. Everything we needed in here for cooking at home for dinner and a pre-wedding brunch (plus a hungover breakfast on Sunday before we left). Lovely to have horses trotting past our windows and chickens around our feet in the morning. A gorgeous spot and the clear skies at night were breathtaking. Whole house is super cute, would definitely come back if I was in the area again.
Could have used an extra bathroom - but we were able to make it work. 6 friends on holiday :) The hot water and pressure never dropped though, this is purely so we could have extra facilities!
Location was great.
The Cottage was charming enough, with an interesting history. Cute updated kitchen & bath, wood burning stove in the small living room. The beds & bedding were new & comfortable. Quiet area.
First thing we noticed was the musty/moldy smell. I have asthma and allergies & I'm extremely sensitive to mold. We went out & bought cans of lysol & cleaner, and sprayed down the whole place which helped a little. We also kept the stove burning in the evening to dry the place out and keep the smell, and chill, at bay. The small sofa & chairs in the living room were on the old side, a little musty & a little too low to the ground for us. The place was also full of moths and many insects flying around. We could not understand why, until we realized that the skylight on the second floor was broken -it was missing a pane of glass! It had rained the night before before we found the problem. We thought there was a leak somewhere, until we realized it was actually rain that had come in because the skylight was open. ;{ We called the landlords & it was fixed within a day. To be honest, he wasn't all that apologetic, but at least it was repaired. There were people staying in the cottage before we did, & we were puzzled as to how the broken skylight would not have been reported. The property advertised a washer & dryer. There was a washer in the kitchen- an older model that took a long time to cycle. No dryer. We called the landlord again & were offered the dryer in their house, or the dryer in the 'shed'. They were not at home when we stayed, & apparently we 'missed' the cleaning lady while she was there to let us in. We were not offered any other way to use the house dryer, so we used the dyer in the shed. The shed was dark, creepy, and absolutely disgusting. The dryer did not work. It barely generated any heat. We tried for hours! It would turn on, but not get hot. My husband kept going out to check in the pitch black but the clothes never dried.
I’m a amateur photographer I found the property rustic and comfortable House was very clean. And very rustic had all the facilities. , I also found the Wi-Fi. A bit under powered for what I needed for work
Rustic charm
Beautiful location.
Not thier fault, my mum is elderly and the shower hand nothing in it for her to hold onto, so she was unable to use it. But I told them when we left and they were very positive about making a change. It's not something you'd think of unless you need it.
Comfortable, room space amazing Beds all comfortable and clean. Private and dogs where comfortable
Everything was in the handbook and easy to follow lovely little garden space house was comfortable with lots of room for 3 adults a child and dogs
Lovely quaint cottage. Very comfortable and quiet. Very convenient to Navan, Emerald Park etc.
Everything.
Nothing
Sweet cottage with lovely artwork.
A wee bit tucked out of the way, however could he exactly what you are looking for.
Beautiful quiet location but yet near town. Setting gorgeous so peaceful and quaint in style, old property tastefully modernised, retaining great character 👍👏
great location for our needs (close to Emerald Park and M1 motorway) as well as village nearby
The Groom's Cottage is a special place, an outbuilding on a historic Irish estate that goes back at least to the 17th century, amid a grove of tall trees in the Meath countryside. Hosts were friendly and provided everything we needed, but entirely hands-off. We would have enjoyed staying more than two nights. Location is very central to see the ancient and historic sites of the Boyne Valley. Pubs and restaurants are around 10-15 minutes away in Navan or Johnstown.
Really no complaints whatever. I would suggest that three adults (our group) is about the perfect size. One could certainly sleep 5 or 6 adults on the property, but that might be a bit of a squeeze.
Excellent location for looking around historic Meath County and a 45min drive to Dublin centre. (30 mins to Dublin airport.) Very easy to find and quite close to shops in Navan which is packed full of history as well. Kitchen, bathroom, front room (with fireplace) and double bedroom on ground floor. 2 small steps leading into front door, 2 small steps leading into front room and then 2 small steps from front room into double bedroom...so a little awkward for anyone with a walker or wheel chair. Loads of amazing books on the local history on a bookshelf along the staircase up to a twin room and another double room off that twin room. The cottage is a gorgeous old building. Very rustic and peaceful. Exactly what we were looking for, as opposed to the busy/urban/hotel feel. There was a wonderful rookery in the trees outside and it was amazing to watch the crows do their thing. Absolutely would stay again!! Thanks so much!
The location was nice and quiet but convenient to all amenities.. very helpful hosts.Comfortable accommodation
Can't say anything was poor.
The cottage is beautiful and very cosy. It is well equipped with everything needed for a great stay. The hosts are lovely and were very helpful during our stay. Lots of space for nice walks around the grounds with the children.
This cottage was absolutely perfect for our stay, very warm and cosy. The beds were so comfortable and it had everything we needed for our stay.
There was no aspect of our stay we didn't like.
Very quiet and peaceful place.
