Reviewed Aug 7, 2026Bedroom interior design was superb, the bathroom and kitchen was well stocked. Very clean as well. Staying in a heritage stonework building above a shopfront gives a certain feeling. Beautiful garden, lovely hosts. Beds were very warm and comfy.
If you're from a subtropical part of the world, like this reviewer, don't forget to keep the aircon heater on! It makes a difference at this latitude.

Reviewed May 24, 2026Decor was fascinating and fabulous. Very comfortable bed. Kitchen very well supplied and we appreciated the coffee maker particularly. Beautiful view over the garden from the kitchen/dining window. Heating was on for us when we arrived - so considerate on a cold night. It was no trouble to find street parking right outside.
The heat pump did a great job of ambient heat but is a long way from the living/bedroom which had a pretty but ineffective ‘mock fire’ heater. The flight of stairs from the front door to the apartment is very steep - something to be aware of when booking- but the trade off is a great location in the historic precinct.

The location is excellent, right in the center of town. We stayed during a colder period, and the heaters kept the place warm and comfortable.

It was very central and had a fine view across the town from the front and a little balcony at the back overlooking the gorgeous hillside garden. The apartment itself was decorated with many beautiful artefacts from the art-dealer owners' collection of Asian art. It was a real pleasure to stay here, at the end of our Alps to Ocean cycle ride. Highly recommended.

Top per chi la sera visita l'Oamaru Penguins, dato che la struttura si trova appena a 4 minuti di auto. Parcheggio comodo in strada. Check in praticissimo. Greg gentilissimo!
Per noi non è stato un problema, ma c'è da fare una scala dall'ingresso al piano dell'appartamento.

Nice and central location in the middle of the historic part of town, with free parking outside. We only briefly met the owners as we were only staying one night, but they were there to help if we needed.

It’s safe and quiet, with plenty of free on-street parking, and a convenient location for walking or driving to restaurants and attractions. Oamaru is a perfect little town with amazing buildings and lovely botanical gardens. Within walking distance of the brewery restaurant and the blue penguin experience. Highly recommend a visit.

Very taste full and comfortable, meet all our needs. We parked on the street outside the front door, not supposed to but it didn't seem to be a problem. The garden area out the back was Awesome, what pleasant sight.

Although we got our keys from a lockbox, our hosts Greg and Katy were there and were very welcoming, friendly and informative. We really loved the flat. It was huge and furnished with really interesting pieces. I could have taken all the paintings on the walls home. It was the best and most comfortable we had stayed in on our six week journey around NZ. It had a great view of the townscape from the front and a view of the lovely gardens behind.

It felt very comfy like home. Located within walking distance to town shopping, the steam punk HQ, Victorian Precinct and the beach.
We found it a bit hard to locate initially as we didnt know it was an apartment above a shop.

发了邮件问停车设施，估计房东年纪大了，没有及时回复。公寓前面马路车位标识只能p15min，后来问了可以随便停。为了保险，我们还是停到了对过的公用停车场（有部分车位是专用，要注意）

Reviewed Oct 8, 2025The only feedback was it was a little hard to find on arrival - the door is set back and the signage is above the door and quite subtle - would be good to have something on the road frontage or be sent a picture of the door / entrance as part of the confirmation - once we found the door however, everything was very easy Very spacious rooms - only a queen bed but very big living room, separate dining/well appointed kitchen, good bathroom which also has a washing machine. Great location

Reviewed May 4, 2025Perfectly set up apartment. Everything we needed was there and it was warm and cosy over two very chilly days. The location was great too as we were attending the Penguin Symposium down the road in the Opera House. We liked the Mediterranean feel of the big kitchen cupboard and the terrace outside where you can sit with a cup of tea.

The owners were exceptionally friendly , extremely helpful and they were more than accomodating (partner was hospitalized so we needed a late check out) they are diligent and certainly know how to make you getaway a memorable one.
