Cosy Countryside Log Cabin

Very cozy, lovely cabin with an amazingly comfortable bed. Also, we loved the old-fashioned American style.

The WiFi was out of service for most of our stay. Also, the fridge is tiny, so you can't really fit anything except a bottle of milk and juice.

Tutto! Un oasi di pace e tranquillità! Tutto era pulito e la piccola cucina era super attrezzata con pentole, stoviglie e anche i condimenti tipo olio, sale e pepe!

Absolument tout. L'emplacement est idéal pour visiter Kilkenny. Kathleen et John sont très accueillants.... sans oublier leur chien Roger! La cabine est parfaite pour une famille avec enfant. Tout est bien pensé et organisé. Il ne manque rien. Tout est très propre. La literie est très bonne et confortable. Je recommande absolument. Je crois que j'ai rarement mis 10 à un logement mais si je pouvais je mettrais plus! Le petit déjeuner est complet.

Je pense que je n'ai rien à indiquer dans cette case.

great cabin, spacious, has everything you need

Hosts John and Kathleen really look after you. Their dog Roger is gorgeous. You have a fully self contained log cabin that is very cozy as the name says.

Long way from town but a really peaceful country location. Great spot to wind down in

The property was exactly what we were looking for, away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to take day trips to different places like Cork, Waterford, Kilkenny, Rock of Cashel, JFK Arboretum, Kilkenny Crystal and on our way out, Cave of Dunmore. The accommodations were like a hidden gem, quiet area, lovely yard and hosts Kathleen and John were a pleasure to visit with. We enjoyed playing with Roger, who never tires of chancing his ball.

Definitely not a show stopper but internet was ok. Always good outside but when inside cabin, so so.

Zeer vriendelijke mensen, behulpzaam, prachtige lokatie om goed te kunnen relaxen. Kilkenny is zeker de moeite waard om te bekijken. Vlakbij grote Aldi.

De bankjes bij de tafel zitten niet echt lekker.

Die Lage war ruhig, in akzeptabler Entfernung nach Kilkenny. Die Blockhütte lidgt in einem großzügig angelegten Garten, Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. Schlafzimmer und Bad waren ausreichend groß, aber alles in allem hatte es etwas von einem Tyni House.

Wie gesagt, Bad und Schlafzimmer waren ausreichend groß, Küche, Ess- und Wohnbereich waren ähnlich wie in eiem Wohnmobil. Eine Couch auf einer Seite, auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite in einer Nische 2 Holzbänke mit Tisch zum Essen. Die Küche war etwas größer, allerdings fehlt zu einer tatsächlichen Ferienwohnung die notwendige Kochgelegnheit - hier gibt es lediglich einen 1-Platten Kocher. Beim Frühstück, das ja mit angeboten wurde, hatten wir gedacht, es gäbe einen Frühstücksraum wo man das serviert bekommt oder sich nimmt, Dem war aber nicht so, das Frühstück für 2 Tage bestand aus 1 Packung Toast, Butter, Milch, und Marmelade, darüber hinaus gab es noch eine (angebrochene) Flasche O-Saft sowie Krümelkaffee und Tee. Natürlich war das ausreichend, wir hatten es nur (weil schon öfter gehabt) anders erwartet.

Es una vergüenza. Ponen que tiene WiFi en la cabaña y es mentira. Cuando llegamos a la tarde con 5 grados, la propietaria nos comentó que para poder usar WiFi, teníamos que salir a la galería con el frío que hacía. En el dormitorio a las 5 de la mañana cuando amaneció entró una luz que nos despertó. No había forma de poder oscurecer. Teníamos reserva para dos días, pero nos fuimos al primer día

I didn't like the owners coming into the cabin when I wasn't there and then they decided to powerwash outside the cabin for the afternoon and the host was cleaning the ashes from her fire decided to throw it over the wall when it was windy and all the ashes came through the open window and my clothes got destroyed

Very welcoming and charming. Very well designed and kitted out. Beautiful location. A little piece of heaven on earth. Perfect for a break away.

Great rural location with onsite parking. The cabin was very comfortable with excellent shower/bathroom facilities. Easy access pathways to the cabin illuminated at night.

Spotty wifi

Le logement a répondu parfaitement à nos attentes : calme, proximité de Kilkenny et de quelques commerces. Il y avait ce qu'il fallait pour le petit déjeuner : céréales, lait, oeufs, jus d'orange. Chaque jour le ménage était fait, les serviettes changées ce qui était très appréciable. Kathleen et son mari sont très accueillants, sympathiques et à l'écoute si besoin de quoi que ce soit.

La connexion wifi n'est pas optimale du tout mais ça fait aussi parti du charme de la campagne !

Very cozy and comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. The host was friendly and welcoming while still giving guests plenty of space and privacy. There’s a separate entrance with your own key, and the little standalone cabin is easy to find and well set up. The location is peaceful, just a short drive from the city. Overall, it felt like a perfect balance of comfort and independence.

The space is on the smaller, simpler side, but that’s part of its charm — more rustic than luxurious. Nothing to fault, really.

This cabin was absolutely gorgeous! It had everything one would need for a weekend away- comfortable and clean, fantastic breakfast, beautiful environment- I could go on and on. Kathleen and John were so welcoming and kind. They have created a really beautiful space for anyone wanting to experience peace and nature. We loved it and would highly recommend anyone considering staying there not to hesitate- they will not be disappointed

Stayed here for 2 nights with my little family of 3. It was exactly the stay we needed for our 2 year old daughter to have a relaxing time away from your regular hotels. Such a homey feel and we loved the board games and movies! Highly recommend staying here ❤️

We really enjoyed the welcome to the cabin and the little tour. :) We were also so thankful for the added breakfast in the cabin and the recommendations for activities to do nearby. John and his daughter even helped us with the heating in the cabin on the first night and it was much appreciated! It was a great space and we’d recommend it!

We were a bit scared of the spiders that were found in the ceiling of the bathroom but, we killed them and understand that it’s possible in a cabin.

It had a little kitchenette that let us cook food, location wise it was about 15-20 mins from Kilkenny town centre but it was good because it was a bit more private, plenty of space and had everything we needed! Breakfast was also available which was really kind!

The Internet connection wasn’t too strong inside the cabin but this didn’t really affect our stay! There was signal close to the window or outside!

Lovely hosts and very comfy cabin!!!

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful self-catering cottage. The host and hostess were incredibly warm and considerate, and made sure that their dogs never disturbed us. The cottage is ideal for couples or a small family like ours (we're a family of three), with a quiet setting and a nice garden. It's within easy reach of Kilkenny city and shopping options in Callan, but you do need a car to get around.

The kitchen is quite small — suitable for preparing breakfast, but not for cooking larger meals. WiFi and mobile coverage are limited, which makes it a great place for a digital detox. While the area is quiet, there aren’t any nature trails nearby that are away from road traffic. Still, it was a relaxing and enjoyable retreat!

The log cabin was a lovely environment and it has a very homely feel to it for me and my fiance and the owners Kathleen and john were absolutely brilliant host and couldn't recommend anyone better

An really excellent accommodation with all the facilities one could want in a self contained roomy garden cabin. Ìtems for breakfast such as bread, cereals and eggs were left for us. The location although quiet and peaceful was close to communication links and the city.

It was cute and cosy. Very relaxing. We had 2 nights here. Well stocked - loved the eggs! Very friendly family. It was a very enjoyable stay. Highly recommend it.

This was a beautifully appointed, self contained cabin that exceeded our expectations! We loved the board games and the DVD’s. It was cozy and comfortable!

The single bed was a little bit hard and lumpy but we still absolutely loved our stay.

Very impressive facilities available and was nice to get up and have tea/coffee and breakfast. Massive bonus was the Northern Lights were visible the 2nd night and we got to see them!!

The cottage was exactly as described "cosy" Absolutely everything we needed was supplied. The owners had the cabin pre heated before we got there. The breakfast was sufficient and with plenty of choice of cereal, fresh orange juice, fresh eggs and milk. Highly recommend for a short retreat for couples or indeed with the kids as they have supplied lots and lots of games and dvds to entertain the little ones. We had a lovely weekend and will most certainly return again soon.

The only one issue we found was the lack of outdoor lighting. There were lots of lights but only one seemed to be working. Not a major inconvenience by any means.

Nothing. This is in the middle of no where and in someone's backyard. The door doesn't lock so be careful if you have valuables. They have an unfriendly dog which barks. We were relaxing in the morning due to jet lag and had a workman look right in the window. Then loud voices, a radio and a jack hammer right outside our door at 8am in the morning. Owner did not care. We checked out rather than staying another night. They did not want to refund us for the second night. Food supplied was out of date. Very old. Would not recommend. Also price too high. Better options available elsewhere.
