L’établissement est vraiment très bien situé. Je donnerais volontiers une note de 20/10 pour l’accueil ! Le personnel est adorable et aux petits soins pour ses hôtes. Ils ont assuré la navette entre le port et l’établissement. Malgré la barrière de la langue, ils ont fait preuve d’une excellente communication et d’une très grande hospitalité. La possibilité de louer directement des vélos sur place est très pratique. Pouvoir se baigner dans la mer à quelques mètres seulement ou contempler les magnifiques couchers de soleil depuis la terrasse est un véritable plus. Je recommande vivement !!! et je reviendrais à coup sûr.

Un endroit incroyable, à quelques mètres de la plage et un accueil très chaleureux. Le bercement des vagues. Le calme, la nature, la mer et l’art contemporain sont réunis sur cette très belle île.

Host was super helpful and communication flawless. She picked us up at the harbor and we rented bikes from the property which made it very easy to get around the island.

Les propriétaires sont très gentils malgré qu'il ne parle pas l'anglais. Tout est propre et confortable. bel emplacement en face de la mer et proche du port si vous etes en voiture avec parking gratuit et devant vous.

Cependant l'espace est petit, rien n'est pratique, la table ronde permet à peine de poser un ordinateur, une fois enlever la bouilloire, etc, c'est assez petit et qd vous pensez à la place perdue pour l'escalier et la taille de la terrasse, pour si peu de temps dans l'année alors que vous sortez de la chambre et vous avez la mer en face, ??intéret?, Dommage mal conseillé, ils auraient du faire une chambre et un salon pour avoir un peu de place au moins pour poser une valise, car aucun placard.

The second floor rooftop balcony and private beach were the most enjoyable parts of our stay here. There are only 4 units so the property is very quiet and feels nestled in the small town. The staff / reception was excellent!

Host met us at port. Communicated through Google translate. Walking distance to port and Chichu museum. We could have hired bicycles but we were inexperienced. Walked to museum then used buses to access other museums and the port. Access to a kitchen. Beside beach with a rooftop terrace.

The host met us at the port and was warm and welcoming. There is a great view for the front rooms and a shared upstairs balcony (back rooms have no view). We could hire battery assisted bikes at the property. Breakfast was 2 pieces of white bread, jam and tea or coffee.

We paid $220 AUD/night for the room and it was not worth it. The description is misleading. We thought we were getting an apartment but it is a room only. The rooms are small and cramped, not 30 square metres, more like half that and we had no room for our luggage. It's a little way out of town so you need bikes or a car to get there. The photos show a kitchen and dining area, but they are in a separate building and shared, more like a hostel arrangement. Breakfast could have been a lot better for the price.

La maison est divisée en plusieurs logements, nous étions sur l'arrière et l'utilisation de la terrasse est beaucoup moins agréable dans ces conditions.

The people, the view and hospitality

While the host didnt speak much English, she made us feel so welcome and managed to translate with apps. Pickup and drop off at the ferry port was included, which was super helpful and convenient. We rented electric bikes through the property, which had fair pricing and made things very easy for us. The location of the propety is great, especially with the bikes to get around. The beach directly in front is beautiful, and we immediately took a dip as soon as we arrived. The room had comfortable beds and everything you need for a nice stay, plus the rooftop deck. I cannot recommend this place enough and would love to stay again in the futue.

Ce logement est franchement super! Une jolie terrasse avec vue sur la mer suspend le temps et invite à la contemplation. Nous avons loué des vélos électriques sur place et avons reçu de très bonnes explications pour les utiliser. Le petit déjeuner inclus dans le prix était agréable.

The lady came to the ferry to picking us up and offered a ride back as well. The property is simply but very clean and nice, each room has its own terrace. Nice new electric bikes to rent and in front of a little beach !

I appreciated being picked up at the ferry, shown the property amenities and given the key. Also because there was no dining nearby and it was raining, I was kindly driven to the 7-11 to pick up some food so I did not need to leave the property that evening. Was also able to walk to Benesse the next day and Chuchi Museum. Very convenient location for my one night stay.

I thought there would be more of a beach for walking. Did not negatively effect my stay, just had a different expectation.

Lovely to get picked up at the ferry and then they also have bikes to rent right at the accomodation, making it really easy to get around without a car.

The service and communication was incredible. The bed was comfortable and the location right on the beach was beautiful! The deck on top of the room was perfect for morning and evening relaxing. We were even able to rent bikes from the property and do our laundry before leaving. The weather was great and every thing dried quickly on the line. The hostess will pick you up from the port and get you settled.

We are traveling for 6 weeks and have medium size luggage. The room was small for two suit cases, but we made it work.

The host was incredibly friendly and kind (didn't speak English--we also didn't speak Japanese--but made easy use of translator apps). She picked us up from the ferry and dropped us off at the end of our stay too. Was very welcoming and accommodating. Rented e-bikes on-site which made for the perfect way to get around the island and to the various museums/attractions. Thanks so much!

The pick up and drop was great. The location was brilliant and the highlight was being able to sit on roof top balcony watching boats and flying fish. the apartments were very clean and plumbing was fantastic.

Breakfast choices could have been better. Only toast and strawberry jam every day. Needed more choice.

If you're travelling with suitcases, the bedroom is quite tight, i.e. small but the bed is comfortable.

Een schitterende plek, naast de zee. Kleine, maar comfortabele en moderne kamer met een terras boven de kamer. Huurden elektrische fietsen bij de accomodatie, nodig om de hoogteverschillen te overwinnen :). De fietsen hadden dezelfde prijs als bij de haven, maar handig dat het bij de locatie was.

Geen uitgebreid ontbijt (enkel toast met confituur), maar dat wisten we. We hebben ontbijt gekocht in de konbini (fruitsap, melonpan, rijst en ei). Dus is zeker geen probleem!

Great location just at the edge of town nearest Chechu and Benesse, next to beach, with rental bikes available on site. Owner/manager was very helpful and informative (their response time was immediate - coordinating ferry pickup/dropoff, or answering questions I had), picked up and dropped off at the dock, and showed me the property and how to operate the toaster and coffee maker, Everything was very clean. The toast with coffee was an ace breakfast, adjacent the olive trees through the breakfast room window. Every morning I started my day with a walk along the beach in front of the property.

Gorgeous sea views, sunny roof terrace, comfortable beds, good shower an bathroom. Good room coffee, basic bread and jam breakfast very welcome!

Our room wasn't ready and so we had to stay in another room for our first night and then move to our booked room on our 2nd day there.

Its location! The scenic location at the oceanfront is amazing but make sure you have one of the two apartments directly at the oceanfront. The extenely friendly staff will pick you up at the ferry terminal and bring you back when you leave. Make sure to rent bikes at the house in time and make reservations for all museums before you arrive!

The studio and the bathroom are quite small.

The location overlooking the sea and a beautiful beach - stunning by day and amazing by night hearing the waves lapping on the shore outside the window and to contemplate the magnificent starlit sky from the rooftop terrace.

The only thing we didn’t like - was having to leave this beautiful place!

The location, friendly staff and size of room

very friendly host, came to the port of the island to pick us up and bring us to the accomodation. She was extremely helpful with information on the island, providing us with electric bicycles ànd helmets!!. Breakfast was served in an adjacent room. The lady-host brought us back to the ferry port next day in the afternoon. evenmore perfect: the roof terrace on top of the accomodation, with a fantastic view on the sea and islands around.

NOTHING! it is the third time that I came here...

Location on the beach with a roof terrace was great - it's always wonderful to be so close to the sea. Pickup from the ferry port was appreciated, even though it's very close. Breakfast was tasty and nicely presented. The room was beautifully clean and nicely renovated with a comfy bed. The communication from our host over messages was really thorough and warm, so I appreciated that.

Though delicious, breakfast was simple - just one piece of bread, butter, and jam each, so I was still a little hungry afterwards. The e-bikes (usable for a fee) worked well, but were pretty small for an adult man. That said, you can always rent bikes from one of the other places in town as they have slightly bigger ones.

The property hosts are exceptionally helpful and really made the stay on the island go with ease. The property is well located, functional, great value and the shared cooking facilities - in addition to the washing machine - were welcome facilities. The rooftop terrace was a very nice feature of this property and allowed for wonderful views of the sunset. I extended my stay as the property was so ideal. A great base for exploring the island and the exceptional customer service ranks this accommodation highly. Amazingly helpful hosts.

The neighbouring terrace was adjoined by a very low wall to enable the other apartment to have a view of the sea, so limited privacy on your own terrace. Although unaware, I was initially a little dismayed by this, but it did not impact my stay and was not a problem at all, just unexpected - the description could perhaps be slightly clearer to this point.

Only half the rooms actually have an unobstructed view to the sea from the terrace. Our room's view was the parking lot. Paying this price for this room, two slices of bread and a bit of butter certainly is too much, when compared to the other 11 places we'be stayed in this trip.

The staff were amazing and the extra mile. Communication was excellent & helpful at all times. Loved the upstairs balcony, a cute feature to make the most of the location.

The room was just a bit tight but we were in Japan. That is how it is in most places.

Pick up from the ferry.

I stayed here from 7 to 8 November and, unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. The room was extremely small — there was barely enough space for a suitcase. The listing on Booking.com also gives the impression that a kitchen is included with the accommodation, which was not the case. Several practical details were inaccurate as well: check-in was only possible at 3:00 p.m. instead of 1:00 p.m., and the Wi-Fi did not work during my stay. Considering all of this, the price was completely out of proportion. For what was offered, a rate around €120 would have been reasonable, not the €315 I paid. Overall, this was disappointing and not what I expected based on the description.

Great location and beautiful views from the rooftop terrace. We appreciated the transfer from the port to the accommodation and back on arrival and departure.

The property was very expensive for what was provided. The room was tiny. The communal breakfast room made having breakfast and meals easier.

It was very expensive when comparing with other accomodation we stayed at in Japan.

The view from our rooms own rooftop terrace was incredible. We rested in very comfortable beds and enjoyed the beautiful evening sunsets. The staff were so kind and ensured we had everything we needed. Even though the location was walkable to the port and to Chichu Art Museum, they offered to taxi us! After a full day taking in the art museums on the island, we slept to the soft sounds of the tides because we were on the beach!!

It was the tiniest thing really, but there was an exterior security light that came on at 3am and shone on to my pillow. It didn’t stay on long but it did wake me up.

Great location. Close to port and chichu museum. Clean and comfortable beds. Upstairs balcony overlooking the water fantastic. Owner/staff was very helpful. Use Google translate to communicate. She also gave us lift to port and picked us up. It’s only 10 minutes walk though.

No WiFi in room.

A lovely lady met us at the dock and drove us to the property and then drove us around the island so we could see the arts sites. We did not expect this and it was an amazing thing for them to do. It made it feel really special.

Breakfast a tad basic. We went to 7-11 and topped up with juice and yoghurt.

Comfortable good western bed. By a beach. Strong shower. Door frames high enough to avoid hitting my head for once! Luggage transfer from the port. Naoshima island is well worth staying on for 2 nights.

Tiny room. The roof terrace isn’t very nice. Basically, you have a large portakabin building divided into four overly small units, designed to maximise revenue not user experience. Not noise insulated - you could hear next door talking. The breakfast was white bread and jam so we passed on it. Incredibly expensive for what it is - we are in Japan for 5 weeks staying in nice places and of all this was by far the worst value for money. I am a generous scorer and if it was less than half the price I would have given 8/10 or 9/10 not 6/10.

L'établissement est présenté comme des appartements en location, mais ce n'est pas le cas. Il y a des chambres avec terrasse vue mer qui sont modernes et confortables mais un peu justes au niveau dimension ET une salle commune avec cuisine professionnelle à disposition des locataires. Si on fait ses courses, il y a tout pour faire la cuisine. Il y a aussi des services inclus comme le petit déjeuner ainsi que le transport entre le port et l'établissement. Si on le demande, on peut se faire aider pour des locations de vélos ou des réservations de restaurant. Attention, les personnes ne parlent que japonais. On est juste en bord de mer et il ne faut que 15mn à pied pour être au centre du village.

Le petit déjeuner proposé est minimal, mais on a un frigo commun pour y stocker son petit déjeuner.

host communicated with us prior to arrival to find out our arrival time so that they could pick us up. After checking in and leaving our bags there, as we arrived before check in time, the host took us to a bike rental place and we were lucky to get the last two bikes left unreserved. Bags were in our room when we arrived back in our room later on in the afternoon. Upon departure, they also dropped our bags off at the port as we didn't have time to walk back to the property after returning our rental bikes. Everything worked out very smoothly.

Needs some artwork inside. Very stark. Breakfast needs fresh fruit, real coffee, better food. Also some landscaping would really help. Just very stark and not pleasant to look at.
