Reviewed Sep 19, 2026Noi avevamo una Bush cabin, super pulita. La cucina è ben fornita, c’è anche un’area dedicata al braai. Il bagno è facilmente praticabile se non piove. Credo che non ci sia l’asciugacapelli ma non ho indagato più di tanto dato che non mi serviva. L’host è stato gentilissimo, abbiamo fatto tardi per colpa del navigatore che ci ha fatto sbagliare strada e lui ci ha aspettati oltre il tempo del check in.
Ps. Se arrivate dalla garden route vi conviene arrivare fino alla città di Addo e poi mettere l’indicazione alla guest farm altrimenti finite nelle strade sterrate come noi (e non è una bella esperienza al buio!)

Reviewed Sep 13, 2026abbiamo preso l'abitazione chiamata suite. SI trattava di una abitazione a forma di grotta alta da un 1,5 m a 2,5 m colore nera, una finestra piccolissima che non rispettava le regole del rapporto tra luce , aria rispetto alla grandezza dell'abitazione. Ti sentivi morire sembrava una tomba , dentro c'era una puzza di vernice e abbiamo dormito tutta la notte con la finestra spalancata, e ci siamo morti di freddo visto che era inverno. lo staff inesistente, a colazione abbiamo visto gli altri bungalow vicino al bar erano molto belli, ma quella stanza sarebbe proprio da chiudere e non affittare. sicuramente la peggior struttura alberghiera del sud africa visto che abbiamo soggiornato per un mese
il servizio e l'accoglienza, tutto lasciato in mano a gente incompetente

Wir hatten Tiere (Nager) im Dach, die haben nachts Lärm gemacht.
Great spot to stay to enter the Addo elephant park the next morning. Staff were very communicative and helpful. Nice experience staying in a remote, rural area, with very good, clean facilities. Great value for money.
La struttura si raggiunge percorrendo una strada sterrata in mezzo a campi pieni di agrumi (suggestivo, ma strada non asfaltata). Noi abbiamo alloggiato in una specie di casa sull’albero molto piccina con un patio dove si trova una piccola cucina. Bagno esterno, come si vede dalle foto. Wi-fi presente soltanto nella zona colazioni, non nelle camere. Disponibile posto auto, Addo Elephant si raggiunge con meno di 10 minuti di strada
Das Frühstück war lecker und mit liebe zubereitet.
Das Bad inkl. Toilette hatte keine Tür bzw. Vorhang und der Abfluss in der Dusche war defekt.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2026I like the little hike u take before getting to the room. It's very well nested in nature. All the basic facilities u would need were available. Great for couples' get away. The host was very friendly and informative without being overwhelming.
The toilet and shower is outside. I can deal with the toilet, but the shower is a bit too much honestly. There was also no hot water.

Er was geen wifi bij het huisje. De douches waren buiten en hadden geen warm water (ook niet ijskoud, maar niet warm). Ook viel de stroom van het gasstel uit in de ochtend. Kan gebeuren natuurlijk. Hij heeft het wel goed gedaan.
Een prachtige plek. Bush cabin lag mooi afgelegen met mooi uitzicht. Heel bijzonder. Ook vlak bij Addo elephant parcours. De Lapa was ook erg mooi.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026This place was incredible! We were located deep in a literal maze so you felt secluded from the world and the bathroom was outdoors which was super cool and well maintained. It had everything you needed with an incredible view of the sunset and the orange fields around. This place well exceeded our expectations!
No Wifi in the room, but to be honest this was a plus for us as it allowed us to be disconnected and enjoy the beauty of the nature!

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026The space was really clean and private. It was really interesting and a whole new experience having the shower and toilet outside! It was a small and comfortable space with everything that we generally needed.
There were not many utensils available at the dung beetle bush cabin, but everything else about the cabin was lovely! It was our first time there and we were asked if we wanted breakfast since it wasn't included, which we agreed to but we weren't told where to go and how and when to pay. When we went to reception, the lady wasn't there on 2 occasions so we couldn't ask any questions we had. We went for breakfast the one morning as well. It was very delicious and the service was good too, but when we said that we don't know where to pay, the lady didn't explain what to do so we just walked around waiting to pay and eventually needed to go because we were running late, only to find out at check out 2 days later that we needed to pay then. Otherwise, it was a lovely experience and we'll definitely be back!

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026You should mention on your info that the bush huts are not suitable for the elderly or infirm. We had to carry suitcases, a crate of food, wood etc 300m meters + along a rough steep path from the car to the hut. No help offered. Also the outside bathroom is not comfortable on a dark dank cold winter evening. Stand under a shower attached to a tree in the wind.

Das Zimmer im Busch hatte leider kein W-lan und man mußte immer einige Hundert Meter zum Haupthaus laufen!Vielleicht sollte dies für die Zukunft geändert werden!

Reviewed Jun 10, 2026Do not be surprised by the access road, which leads through fields and orchards. The bush cabin was clean and full of rustic charm, and the kitchen had everything needed for preparing meals. The surroundings are wonderfully natural, with a small pond and friendly animals adding to the atmosphere. Showering outdoors with a beautiful view, just before a thunderstorm, was an unforgettable experience. Breakfast can be ordered, and we tried it once; it was simple but enjoyable.
The accommodation is set in the middle of nature, so if you are not comfortable with using an outdoor shower and bathroom, or with occasionally sharing the bush cabin with a few local creatures such as spiders or centipedes, this might not be the right place for you. For those who enjoy a more authentic and rustic experience, however, it is part of the charm.

Auf meinem Koffer saß eine große Spinne :) passiert, wenn man inmitten einer Zitronenplantage übernachtet.

Reviewed May 30, 2026L’emplacement était parfait, collé au parc national d’Addo. C’était original et bien pensé. Le lit était confortable. C’était tranquille et isolé. La vue était belle de la chambre.
C’était très rustique, les toilettes et la douche sont dehors. Il y avait quand même beaucoup de moustiques, mais au moins, il y avait un moustiquaire pour le lit, ce qui a grandement aidé.
Il y a une forte odeur de fumée dans la chambre. Il n’y avait pas de wifi à la chambre, il fallait se rendre à l’aire commune.

Die Unterkunft hatte durch den Regen mit Wassereintritt in unserem Bungalow zu kämpfen , dadurch feuchte schlechte Luft im Schlafraum.

Unglaublich weiter Weg vom Parkplatz bis zur Hütte 3. Gepäck muss den ganzen Weg geschleppt werden. Pool nicht ansprechend, Wasser trüb.
De sfeer, de leuke inrichting van het huisje en het terrein, de locatie t.o.v. Addo national parc en het aardige personeel.

Reviewed Apr 30, 2026Het was een sfeervolle dung beetle. Ruim genoeg en prima voor 4 personen. De ontvangst was hartelijk en de medewerkers zeer vriendelijk. Er is een Lapa voor informeel samenzijn. Wellicht door het seizoen (herfst) was er eigenlijk nooit iemand. Er zijn twee kleine zwembaden, niet verwarmd en er zijn mogelijkheden voor een massage (heerlijk!) en het boeken van excursies. De accommodatie ligt op een klein kwartier van de hoofdingang van Addo Elephant Park. Prima te doen.
In de avond is het een beetje behelpen omdat er geen TV of goede WiFi faciliteiten zijn (zeker voor kinderen). Verder was het redelijk hygiënisch en kon er naar onze mening hier en daar beter schoongemaakt worden.

Reviewed Apr 23, 2026Lovely view, helpful staff. They even organise all the facilities for bus to braai in the main building and when we had an emergency and needed assistance they came to help.
They have wonderful spots looking over the orchards and some actual dung beetle looking buildings with no windows. Very comfy and rustic but if you don’t want to sleep in a windowless apartment be specific about the type you book.

The kitchen area of the Bush Cabin was very dirty and we need to clean it thouroughtly before we could use any of the utensils. The utensils were a but sarse, but were supplimented when we asked.
The pilow are atroicius and really need to be replced.

Beautiful early morning sunrise view from our 'Dungball" unit.
Breakfast was very good and staff friendly and very accommodating.
Loved the decor and construction of the 'dungball' unit. So quirky and made it a unique stay.
Pillow cases need updating. Signs of wear and tear and a few 'mould' spots.
Bathroom mats although bright and fun they got soaking wet and looked dirty, but it may have been the floral print. Wasn't keen on standing on them barefoot. They also need updating with some cleaner plain colours. Shower mat looked like it had not been lifted and cleaned under for some time.

La nostra bush cabin era molto umida, non troppo pulita e raffistolata. L’idea è simpatica ma mal realizzata. La casette in muratura sembrano molto più carine.
Breakfast was great, the use of the Lapa made a big difference.
The Dung beetle cottages has no proper ventilation. No windows at all. This is totally impractical despite having fans and an aircon. The braai area was small and neglected, No privacy between the two bedrooms, no doors. Only curtains.

Reviewed Apr 3, 2026Különleges hely, kocsival 5 percre az Addo parktól. A házak remekül el vannak választva egymástól a dús növényzettel. Itt a dzsungelben érezheted magad egyedül. A ház mellett, kívül lévő tusoló és WC is izgalmas. A park két antilopja a kocsink mellett legelészett reggel amikor elutaztunk. A ház egy légtér, egyszerű, de minden van, ami kell. Még főzhetsz, vagy grillezhetsz is a teraszon.

Der leider etwas in die Jahre gekommene Zustand der kompletten Anlage:
- die uns zugesandten GPS Daten stimmten nicht mit dem Tatsächlichen Standort überein (13km entfernt)
- Der Hygienebehälter war bei unsere Ankunft randvoll und roch dementsprechend (nach Beanstandung wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass dieser ja erst vor zwei Wochen geleert wurde …, netter weiser haben sie es dann für uns geleert)
- eins der Nachtlichter hing am Seidendenfaden und funktionierte dementsprechend nicht
- Die Tür zum Chalet hat ein Spalt zum Boden gehabt (Moskitofreundlichen Eingang)
- kaputte Fliesen im Aussenbereich
- modriger Geruch im Chalet
- Bettwäsche war nicht sauber und roch ebenfalls (wurde nach Wunsch ausgetauscht, danach war sie immer noch nicht sauber aber roch frisch…)
- extrem chlorhaltiges Wasser (nichts für empfindliche Nasen, wir konnten nicht duschen und zum Zähneputzen haben wir unser Trinkwasser benutzt)
- Toilettentür wies Hinterlassenschaften eines Vogels auf
- Preisleistungsverhältnis für Zustand nicht angemessen

Reviewed Mar 14, 2026Das Haus im Dungbeetle Stil war sehr speziell und eine einmalige Erfahrung.
Es gab alles was man braucht und das Bett war groß und bequem.
Der Check in funktionierte schnell und gut.
Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und der Ausblick aus dem Frühstücksraum war toll.
Einmal bekamen wir sogar ein Lunchpaket, da wir vor dem Frühstück schon zur Safari los mussten.
Am ersten Tag regnete es sehr stark über viele Stunden, da war die Decke der Dungbeetle Höhle leider nicht ganz dicht.
Das Bad ist ein bisschen abgewohnt und könnte Erneuerung brauchen bzw etwas sauberer sein.
