Reviewed Sep 12, 2026I booked last minute to attend an event in the local town. The room was available and was easy to locate. I'll be really honest, I didn't know what to expect being last minute but I was really pleased. Was everything you'd want a room to be. Quiet, comfortable and clean. Staff were all helpful and available if needed and overall was a pleasant stay.
Id be picking stuff for the sake of picking things. It genuinely was an overall great place to stay.

The breakfasts were freshly cooked and all fulfilling. All in all a top establishment that I would have no hesitation in recommending to friends and family.

Reviewed Aug 6, 2026Owner was a great host, very friendly and helpful. Lovely room with huge bed. Spotless en suite. The breakfast? Wow. Huge choice of fried breakfast to choose from. Also allowed us to stay in his own garden after checkout as our pick up was an hour later.
Only little gripe was, although good pvc windows, was early morning traffic noise. Maybe heavier curtains?

Reviewed Jun 10, 2026On arrival we were given a warm welcome and everything was explained including a recommendation of where to eat in the evening. The room was large and spacious with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of continental and cooked breakfast and dairy-free items were available. Everyone we met were friendly.
The only negative was the shower, it was not easy to regulate and due to it’s shape was not easy to enter if you’re of the larger build! Though it was nice to be woken by the sun but not when it was still very early - blackout curtains would have been beneficial.

Reviewed May 13, 2026I have stayed before and it has always been very good. These guys are very professional and have done an excellent job for many years here. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
It was very cost effective and I worry that maybe they sometimes don’t make enough money to keep going. An extra £5 on the cost may help. They are so accommodating and I think they’re famous for the breakfast.

Reviewed May 2, 2026The quality of the breakfast and the range of options. Excellent. The location for me to regularly visit a vulnerable family member. I’ve stayed a few times.
The rooms are far too hot. Always up to 5/5 on the thermostat. I go in, turn it off, open a window and go out for a walk. I can’t bear to be in the room that is so hot. One of the rooms I was in has a bathroom radiator I couldn’t turn down. The front rooms have some noise from the main road in the evening. I always have earplugs to sleep in so it’s not a problem for me. My scores don’t reflect this as the rest of my experience is so good.

Reviewed Apr 17, 2026Does exactly what it says on the tin. Ideal B&B, clean, comfortable, friendly staff, easy parking, good communication from the owner, yummy breakfast. We were travelling to skydive in the area, and this was the perfect stop-over.
Everything was fine. If pushed, I would say that I didn't love being on the ground floor next to the front door - as women I would have felt more secure on a higher level.

Reviewed Mar 25, 2026The room was nice and the bed was huge. There was a TV and an en-suite. Breakfast was included and the owner / staff were pleasant. There was ample parking space, although I didn't use it. It was good value for money.
The room was on the main road, so traffic noise was mildly disturbing. The en-suite was in need of attention as the radiator next to the toilet was peeling and rusty. The shower cubicle could have done with being bleached as there was black mildew around the shower tray.

Reviewed Mar 10, 2026Love the fact that it dont matter what time you arrive always met with a smiling face , always look forward to the breakfast , at my age i always have a small one , but you have a choice of 3 the largest is for a challenge , all of the ingrediants are top rate .
One small gripe is the shower door , you are unable to close it properly from the inside , you can still have a shower though .

I'm sure they would have accommodated had I asked prior to my stay. Staff really helpful and welcoming. Beds really comfortable. Dining area was lovely and clean.
Property inside looks tired and in need of a lick of paint and carpets could do with a freshen up. Rooms were like saunas and my room had no way of turning heating down. Would have been great if it was freezing outside though!

The staff were friendly & helpful & made the stay even better than it already was! This was such a fab place to stay, & we would definately come here again

Although I was overall pleased, Check out is until 11am. I was in my room doing some work and at 10:45 I got a knock on my door , stating that check out is in 10 minutes, which I was aware of , but check out technically was finishing in 15 minutes.

Reviewed Feb 9, 2026Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was exceptionally clean, a great improvement on some bathrooms we have experienced. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Nothing seemed to be any trouble for the staff who were friendly and considerate.
Double glazing on the windows on the front of the house might be an option. Being on the main street traffic was occasionally very noisy.
