Easy location for our needs. The windows had secondary double glazing ,which did drown out most of the noise from the traffic.

The whole place smelt. The stairs were sloping. The handrails on the stairs were sticky. The carpet in the room looked like it was ready for a change. Although the sheets were clean, there was a few stains on them. A small to in the room.

Needed more variety in yoghurts

We liked the size of the room and bathroom. It was spotlessly clean! The deco was beautifully and tastefully done. Each detail of the room was obviously carefully thought out. Including the bed which was huge and really comfortable. The staff we met were attentive, helpful and friendly. We stayed on a Sunday (Karaoke) night. We didn't hear a peep. This beautiful old building itself was amazing and sympathtically restored.

The whole event was a shambles at the end as the breakfast wasn’t good most people have fruit yogurts to eat not toffee or vanilla the fried breakfast was cold the croissants were soggy then on top of this as it rained there was water coming in everywhere it was so dangerous as we came down the stairs in was coming in as though someone was throwing buckets of water at us all down the stairs as we tried to walk so we got soaked the electricity was on as the water poured though so we could of been electrocuted the staff were trying to cope but no one was taking charge of anyone’s safety my husband whom is soon 80 or myself could of slipped and fell it was like a horror film this wasn’t the only place where the water was coming in there were at lease 3 other places

The whole place need a shake up and maybe Managed better as the tables were sticky the handrails on the stairs cleaned the kitchen food needs looking at as everything has gone down since we last stayed here

Pleasant old coaching inn, retaining it's character. Comfortable room. Good, pub style food, from a wide and varied menu.

Our room overlooked a courtyard, used as an outdoor space for pub goers, and can be noisy. To be fair this is made clear, and ear plugs are provided in the room. Just a bit annoying for me on one evening, when it was particularly loud.

The room was small but nice, bed very comfortable with great pillows! It was a little bit noisy as there was music on downstairs until 2am and then a bit of noise outside as people were leaving. Not dreadful though. Breakfast a little bit basic and finished at 9am which was possibly a bit early on a Sunday!

We've been before each time it gets better than last time the staff are great the bed was bigger than our last visit loved it would recommend any time.We are not big drinkers so we're overwhelmed at the choice of beer's and wine great selection and of course very dog friendly it was great

Comfortable beds in a spacious room.

Overhead only shower, prefer hand held shower - and the bath was very high sided which made getting in and out to shower quite dangerous. Although there is a warning sign on stairs, to the room, that warns to hold the handrails - the steps are sloping and quite unnerving especially when descending.

Room spotless and well maintained And had done great job and refilled our tea coffee etc when requested. Super comfy bed best nights sleep in a long while. Nice to open curtains on Monday morning and see 12 geese below us and when we had breakfast they had a waddle up the road, lovely to see. Breakfast was served by Chris promptly and just what we requested. All staff very friendly have already booked again for October

Suggestion to put small pot on breakfast tables for rubbish butter papers jam pots etc

Really well located. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was spacious, clean, nicely decorated and had a lovely big bathroom. Great cooked breakfast too.

The car park isn’t particularly well explained. It’s a pay and display car park accessed next to the pub but free for guests. However we couldn’t see any signage for guests with instructions on what to do, nor were they in the email confirmation. Had to call on the phone from outside in the car to clarify where to park and the process (you get a little paper pass on check in to display on your dash).

Only thing I can think off is no de-caff coffee (I arrived late and wanted a coffee but couldn’t risk caffeine at 8.30pm!). Very minor issue!

Sparkling clean, pleasantly surprised about the lack of noise from the pub downstairs. Very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom facilities. Nice breakfast. Staff went the extra mile to put up some decorations for my partner’s birthday and left us a bottle of fizz!

The pillows were a little lumpy for my partner’s liking, and we heard an irritating buzzing noise every 8 seconds all night and couldn’t work out what it was!

The room was very clean, the decor was very tasteful, the bed was very comfy, the pillows were lovely and soft, the bathroom had a bath which is a plus, all extremely clean, we had a sharing platter which was value for money and very tasty.Breakfast very good, staff informed us at check in that music is played on a Saturday evening until 2 in the morning, earplugs supplied in your room if needed. Would definitely stay again

Clean tidy room, plenty of pillows & a decent shower. Staff were exceedingly helpful & accommodating. Breakfast was good & they start serving at 7am, which is great for early risers. Can't recommend this place enough.

Lovely greeting when checking in, informed that the road would be closed until later in the evening due to St Georges celebrations happening in the main square but could use the free city car park until the road opened ,then park in hotel car park. Also informed that it would possibly be a bit noisy as it was karaoke night but given ear plugs which were not needed as our room was quiet plus very roomy and recently decorated to a high standard and spotlessly clean. Our breakfast consisted of continental or a variety of cooked meals or both with tea, coffee or juice. We also had evening meals with our friends which were very good , Will definitely be back.

Sunday Karaoke until 11pm was noisy. The shower was over a very high sided bath which I couldn’t access after a hip replacement 3 months ago.
