Deb was very welcoming and helpful. The room was basic but functional. The location was good, close enough to walk to the beach. The breakfast was great as was the dining area. We didn’t use the pool as we were only there one night but it looked nice. The price was great value.

The aircon didn’t work well on the night we were there but Deb acknowledged that and said she’d get it fixed. The bathroom was basic but functional.

Deb and the crew were very welcoming and made our stay very easy. As it was also our first few days in Sri Lanka before exploring the rainforests, they gave us amazing tips and advice on the weeks ahead. Thank you!

Fijne plek om te relaxen voordat je aan je reis begint of om te eindigen. Rustig en fijn en schoon zwembad en heerlijk ontbijt. We zijn goed verwend. Dichtbij eettentjes, strand en winkeltjes.

We kunnen niet iets bedenken.

Fijn om na een lange reis even hier bij te komen. Het is niet ver van het vliegveld. Transfer wordt door hun geregeld dus je kunt zo doorlopen naar je eigen taxi. We zijn erg hartelijk ontvangen. Deb is een hele lieve gastvrouw. Schone kamers, heerlijke douche, airco, fijn zwembad en een mega lekker ontbijt. Ze wilt je bij alles helpen en geeft veel tips.

Deb gave us very helpful advise for traveling the country and organised our way back to the airport + contacted the carrental company. The Ambiente for breakfast was very beautiful. We could get cold and hot water to drink for free.

L'accueil à l'aéroport, la gentillesse de nos hôtes. Ils nous ont conseillé un restaurant, et nous y ont conduits. On a même pu rester plus longtemps car notre avion était tard dans la soirée (il est vrai que nous n'étions pas en saison touristique). Et que dire du petit déjeuner, copieux à souhait. Et la piscine pour nous rafraichir. Vraiment une adresse que je recommande sur Negombo.

Lovely place, very clean, with great breakfast. Excellent communication and charming hosts. We were so grateful for the seamless late night airport pickup and check-in. Great location for exploring the beaches! Restaurants, shops grocery and atm are all within walking distance (the hotel is cash only, like most of the country). The pool was very appreciated. We would definitely say here again!

Deb and Joseph are very friendly and helpful. Even before our arrival in Sri Lanka. pick up from airport. Great location, nice garden to sit in, lovely pool.. Close to the beach. You could refill your waterbottle. Breakfast was really good.

O zo'n aardige gastvrouw. Alles was perfect geregeld: een schone kamer, een heerlijke douche, de hartelijke ontvangst, een prima zwembad..... en niet te vergeten: Dingo, een lieve hond. Het wegbrengen naar het vliegveld is een extraatje wat het verblijf compleet maakt.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin, schöne Anlage mit tollem Pool. Das Zimmer war klein, aber ausreichend für unsere (leider) letzte Nacht vor dem Rückflug nach Hause. Kostenloser Flughafentransfer. Wir haben statt Frühstück leckere Lunchpakete zurecht gemacht bekommen. Kostenloses Wasser. Strand und Geschäfte fußläufig erreichbar. Klare Buchungsempfehlung !

A great property to stay at in Negombo, not too far from the beach but far enough away to be out of the crowded areas. Good access to all surrounding facilities, including the airport. Breakfast was wonderful and the host was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Il nostro soggiorno ad olideb gedara è stato pianificato all' ultimo minuto per via della cancellazione del nostro volo. Abbiamo scelto qualche ora prima e devo dire che siamo stati pienamente soddisfatti. La guest house è molto carina, pulita, ben curata, con un bel giardino e un cane meraviglioso. Deb che la gestisce è super gentile e disponibile, si preoccupava per noi e cercava in tutto e per tutto di aiutarci. La colazione è perfetta, tè, caffè, frutta, pane burro e marmellata, uova, yogurt. Negombo beach è ad una ventina di minuti a piedi attraversando un quartiere molto tranquillo. Inoltre offrono una navetta per l' aeroporto, insomma un' ottima scelta se volete fare una tappa in questa zona. Se non avete il sonno pesante consiglio un paio di tappi. Io non ne ho avuto bisogno.

Me gusto que solamente se escucharan los pajaritos y que estuviera en una zona muy tranquila. La piscina es un punto fábuloso para cuando aterrizas o antes de despegar .

Vriendelijke ontvangst, ruim en lekker ontbijt, kamer is groot genoehg met een heerlijke douche. De ophaalservice vanaf de luchthaven verliep goed. En Dingo (de huishond) maakte ons verblijf perfect. We komen hier zeer zeker over 3 weken nog eens terug.

La maison et le jardin sont très agréables, dans un secteur résidentiel calme. La maison est joliment décorée, elle a beaucoup de cachet et une vraie personnalité. La chambre était simple mais très propre et climatisée . L'accueil de Deb est particulièrement chaleureux et attentionné. Elle a pris le temps de discuter avec nous malgré notre anglais médiocre. Sa connaissance du pays et son regard d'occidentale ont rendu la conversation très intéressante. Le transfert à l'aéroport est bien appréciable.

Rien. On pourrait juste suggérer une petite table de chevet pour parfaire la confort de la chambre.

De gastvrouw Debra dacht echt met je mee bijv waar je het beste kon eten , wat de beste wisselkoers was er ging zelf iemand van het personeel mee om dat voor elkaar te krijgen. Heerlijk zo vertrouwd gevoel. Het ontbijt was ook top. Op een wat hard bed na echt niets te klagen.

Een wat, voor ons, hard bed. Maar dat is ook het enige.

We werden warm verwelkomt door de eigenaresse. Het is een heerlijk huis, rustig gelegen en heeft een mooi zwembad. Fijn dat er drankjes beschikbaar zijn, voor als je lekker wilt nagenieten van je dag. Ontbijt is super!

Olideb Gedara was a delightful end to our trip. I usually don't expect much more than a shuttle service from a budget room near the airport, but this place was genuinely great! The property is lovely and quiet (complete with a friendly dog!), although the room is quite basic. The host was kind and accommodating, letting us check in after a late train ride in the middle of the night and arranging two separate airport trips for us since my friend and I had very different flight times. If I came through Sri Lanka again, I would definitely stay here any time I needed easy access to the airport. It's much better - quieter, more convenient, and more comfortable - than anything I could find in Colombo.

Bardzo ładny domy z super klimatem. Przemiła właścicielka. Pokoje skromne ale bardzo czyste. Bardzo dobre domowe śniadania. Ładny basen przy którym można się zrelaksować. Przez cały dzień można robić sobie darmową kawę i herbatę. Można też korzystać z przekąsek i napojów w bardzo atrakcyjnych cenach. Pensjonat oferuje darmowy transfer lotniskowy.

Brak moskitier nad łóżkami albo chociażby w oknach. Niestety zostaliśmy okropnie pogryzieni przez komary w nocy

Hicimos noche a la ida y a la vuelta del viaje. El desayuno es espectacular, de los mejores que tuvimos en Sri Lanka. A la vuelta salíamos a las 4 de la mañana y nos hicieron un desayuno para llevar. La primera habitación que tuvimos era un poco pequeña. La segunda habitación era amplia. Las dos estaban limpias. La dueña es muy amable y atenta.

Había muchos mosquitos en las habitaciones y no había mosquitera. Tienen anti mosquitos eléctrico, pero no es suficiente porque los techos son muy altos.

Sehr freundliche und nette Gastgeber. Sie gaben uns Tipps zu Ausflugszielen. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und wir konnten unseren Koffer für die Zeit unserer Rundreise bei ihnen lassen. Für den frühen Weiterflug erhielten wir von Deb ein Frühstückspaket. Der inkludierte Flughafentransfer von Joseph funktionierte perfekt. Sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft. Zum Dinner sind wir zum "Tuktuk wine und dine" gelaufen welches auch empfehlenswert ist.

Welcomed by Joseph at the airport and given a warm welcome on arrival at Olideb Gedara. Felt at home straight away, Deb showing me round and making me feel comfortable. Water and warm drinks available as needed. Relaxed by the pool for a while after a long flight. Deb recommended places to eat and the best routes into town, which was an easy walk.

Everything was fantastic

Staying in this beautiful house was such a good idea. The price-quality relation is excellent, and the hosts couldn´t have been more helpful. A real bonus is the pool, the nice breakfast, and the FREE transfer to the airport.

Deb is een mega gastvrije gastvrouw, alles is goed verzorgd, lekker zwembad, het ontbijt was heerlijk en het was super fijn dat we gratis bij het vliegveld werden opgehaald.

Niet veel, het was ‘s nachts wat luidruchtig (blaffende honden, kraaien, festival toen wij er waren) maar kunnen ze niks aan veranderen.

We had a very good time. Deb was a very nice host. Good breakfast, taxi to the airport was included with the very affordable room price. We enjoyed the nice garden and swimming pool at this last stop in Sri Lanka.

We immediately felt at home with Olideb Gedara. We felt very welcome. The hosts were incredibly sweet. We booked three rooms with our family. We arrived after a long journey. The children weren't feeling well. Deb immediately made toast and took very good care of us. The accommodation is peaceful, cozy, and beautifully designed. It's even more beautiful in real than in the photos. We enjoyed the outdoor area and the pool. The breakfast was fantastic and very extensive. And then there was the included airport transfer service; it was great that they even provided that. We regretted not booking this upon arrival and also that we didn't stay longer. A wonderfully relaxing place to stay when arriving and departing Sri Lanka!

Fijne gastvrouw, mooie kleine accommodatie, verfrissend zwembad, lekker evenwichtig ontbijt, gratis luchthavenshuttle werd geregeld. Geen restaurant maar er werd voor ons gereserveerd bij Tuk Tuk Wine and Dine een paar minuten lopen. Een aanrader.

Een klein detail is dat 1 van onze 2 slaapkamerdeuren moeilijk openging.

Rustige ligging. Fijn zwembadje om lekker bij te kunnen komen na een lange reis. Heerlijk ontbijt. Vriendelijke gastvrouw. Transfer vanaf de luchthaven is ook goed geregeld en inbegrepen bij de kamerprijs.

De matrassen waren wel erg dun.

First timers to Sri Lanka and Deb and Joseph were the best hosts. Full of local knowledge, hot tips and local contacts. Airport transfer was a bonus. Beautiful, homely, quiet stay and Deb's breakfasts were yummo. Pool was a refreshing touch.

Very well located when you arrive from airport. Lovely and tasteful decorated, even better in reality than in pictures. House designed in Portugese style with high wooden ceilings. 4 rooms, intimate setting with common garden, living and pool. Owners are srilankan autralian couple. Big excellent breakfast with fruits, eggs, mushrooms, toast , juice, coffee, tea, yogurt , marmalade, cheese, cakes included . Even pool towels provided. Can definitely recommend this place.

The location of this homestay is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood of Negombo, which is not very far from the main town. One will find a lot of eateries and restaurants within a short walk away. Coming to the home owners, they are super friendly and would do their best to help you decide on the things to do in Negombo.

Deb's hospitality was heartwarming! The rooms were nice and very clean. We were able to sit in the garden and enjoy coffee and food. You can also order transportation through them. The beach and shopping street are about a 15 min walk away. Airport also near. I would always come again. Many thanks!

Deb was extremely hospitable and made sure that we were as comfortable as possible. She arranged food for when we arrived, and even got up to welcome one of us who arrived at 3 AM. The room was clean and comfortable, and the facilities worked as should. In short: amazing stay and very good value for money. Would definitely come back!!

We had room C, which could improve a lot by getting the same interior as room A, i.e. coat rack to hang up things and a bench to lay stuff out instaed of an old dusty wardrobe.

The house is very charming and the owners are so lovely and helpful. The town is fun to walk around, close to the beach and many restaurants.

Fantastic communication. Free shuttle from airport at a late hour with perfect instructions and smiling happy driver, Lovingstone to pick us up. Deb was waiting and explained a couple of things, most importantly what time we wanted our delicious breakfast - talk about super service. We really enjoyed our stay in your beautiful house especially breakfast time 👏. We also appreciated the bottled water on arrival, the fan and aircon and the pool. Totally recommend for a comfortable stay.

Not that I didn't like it at all but for "princesses" the shower wasn't operating in our room but no problem for us.... running water from the tap. Whatever it takes right. Also bit of a walk to the beach but you're there to explore and if it's too dark or too hot small tuktuks ride away.

When you arrive into an unfamiliar country at 4am after 24 hours travel, what you really need is: A clean, friendly, safe environment with a pick up that is guaranteed and hassle free. What we got was exactly this but much more. Deb, the host was smiling when we arrived- no mean feat at 4am. Our room was beautiful and had all facilities including a hot shower( when I turned the dial the correct way. Lol) The property is very stylish. Lots of tips provided. We only spent 7 hours at the property, but it was just what we needed.

Fairly good location as well - close to Negambo beach and town is only 5m on Tuk-tuk.

There were a lot of mosquitoes in our hut

Great option to start or conclude your trip to Sri Lanka. Deb and Joseph were kind and helpful during our short stay! Joseph picked us up from the airport during the middle of the night which was so kind (and one of the main reasons we chose this guesthouse). It's near to the train station which is really handy if you're heading north. Breakfast was sufficient and there is filtered water available to top up bottles which was great. The bathroom had a bit of a strange smell and the mattresses were very thin. The pool was refreshing and you can walk into town easily. Great value for what's offered!

Deb and Richard were extremely welcoming and accommodating during our stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Delicious meals. They even allowed us to stay past check out time due to our late departing flight. Would definitely stay again!

A stunning house located near to the airport. Deb was so friendly and welcoming. We had a late flight, but were still greeted warmly with a cup of tea on arrival. Free transfer to the hotel was great! Aircon worked well, bedroom was clean, nice warm water. The breakfast was fabulous!! Perfect stop over for arrival before catching the train. Thanks deb!

The owners are super kind and caring. The husband took us to the fish market and a church and a market, and they also recommended restaurants that were super nice. Rooms are clean and the pool is amazing! They arranged cool beers whenever we wanted it. Would recommend to everyone!

The apartment was in perfect condition. The room and bathroom very clean. The charming host, she was like our mother, she helped us at all times and it would be a place she would return to without a doubt. The pool is perfect for a dip. Breakfast is complete and very rich. If you need a place to sleep in Negombo this is your place.

Cleanliness, calm/quiet environment, hospitality, personalized experience, very organized and professional host. The walk to the beach feels safe. Smaller but fully stocked grocery store nearby (2min walk).

The anti-leak plastic mattress cover was a bit too hot to sleep on.

Olideb Gedara is a superb guest house, which is very comfortable and clean. It is within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. Debs was the perfect host, very friendly and available to offer advice. Breakfast was lovely and various options available. Complimentary shuttle service from the airport was a bonus as was the tour around the town. I would not hesitate to recommend, and we would definitely stay again.

Deb was super nice and welcoming. Taking a bath in the pool after a hot and tired day was a luxury! And breakfast was delicious and abundant! We will come back here another night at the end of our trip!

The pick up from the airport was highly appreciated due to a 4am arrival. The rooms were well equipped with a/c and shower with hot water. A mosquito net would maybe be a + but no big deal. Breakfast was really fabulous (eggs, fruits, yoghurts, cake, juice and coffee/tea). Highly recommend Deb and Joseph’s guesthouse.
