Reviewed Apr 28, 2026The hotel was overall okay, but our experience upon arrival was quite disappointing. When we checked in, there was already a discussion about the price of our booking. The staff mentioned that they did not want to give us the room for the confirmed price and suggested downgrading us instead. This made the check-in process complicated and uncomfortable. Aside from that, the stay itself was acceptable, but the situation at arrival left a negative impression.

Reviewed Apr 24, 2026Die Unterkunft war gut, wie auch beschrieben. Sriyani hat uns in allen Fragen super geholfen, auch mit mieten eines Roller hat die vermittelt. Frühstück war lecker. Da Sriyani gut deutsch spricht hatten wir keine Probleme gehabt uns zu verständigen. Vielen Dank nochmal Sriyani.

Wir haben für 1 Nacht gebucht, eigentlich ein Standard/Budget Zimmer aber wir haben ein Deluxe Zimmer bekommen. Der Standard war verglichen mit anderen Hotels auf unserer Reise sehr hoch, vor allem zu dem Preis! Unbedingt empfehlenswert! Die Lage ist auch top!

Air conditioner in one of our booked rooms did not work. No soaps provided. Price arranged on Booking.com that was fixed was raised when we paid. Payment was requested at the end of our stay. We were told just pay the revised price or they would call the police. It was not a large change, but the agreed price should not change. Also, we arrived late in the day and rooms were not ready.

Reviewed Feb 24, 2026Номер вполне комфортный, небольшой, но имеется чайник, холодильник, кондиционер и вентилятор. Ванная комната чистая с обновленным ремонтом и новым оборудованием. Горячая вода постоянно, напор очень хороший. Хозяйка постоянно на связи и все возникающие вопросы решаются сразу на месте оперативно.
Wi-Fi очень слабый, на 3-м этаже почти не берет. Но низкая скорость интернета это проблема во всей стране.

Reviewed Jan 26, 2026The guest house has good vibes, it is nice and clean, the owners are very friendly people. The room was clean, enough of pillows, blanket, closet, kettle, there was no problem with hot water. We would come back again in the future.
Since the guest house is located on a busy street, we could hear the loud music from the bars and the noise from the traffic but we still could sleep and we knew it is not a quiet street. I think all the places on this street have this problem.

Очень приветливая хозяйка, чисто. Также хочу отметить, что хостес очень контактный еще до поездки: ответил на все вопросы, учёл пожелания.
За такую стоимость это изумительный вариант в этом месте: я несколько дней сравнивал варианты жилья в радиусе пары километров и это действительно оптимальное предложение и прекрасное качество.

Reviewed Dec 21, 2025Rhe most important point: The breakfast was truely amazing! All options were great, but the egg+plain hopper blew me away. (I had no idea what a hopper was) The room itself fited our needs perfectly. We were primarily using it as a place to sleep.
The internet was slow in some spots of the room, but it was not a big issue for us.

В кафе можно заказать и напитки и еду. Приносили прямо к лежакам. Есть столики под навесом. Завтраки отменные, в соседнем кафе от отеля (20 метров). Сам отель очень красивый с удобными номерами. В округе много различных кафешек со свежайшими морепродуктами. Немного по вечерам громкая музыка из соседнего ресторана, но нисколько не омрачала отдых. Если кому мешает берите номер с окном во двор.

Die Gastgeberin, die sehr gut deutsch konnte, hat uns immer zur Seite gestanden und bei Fragen und Problemen jederzeit weitergeholfen. Empfehlungen von ihr waren such nie enttäuschend. Die Lage ist traumhaft, nur 2min zu einem wunderschönen Strand mit ruhigem Wasser. Vielen Dank, sehr gerne wieder!

Sriami hat 20 Jahre in Deutschland gelebt und dort ihren Mann kennengelernt. Es ist sehr nett sich mit ihnen zu unterhalten und sie nehmen sich auch Zeit für ihre Gäste. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Mieliśmy pokój z widokiem na ogród, na małym tarasie można siąść i podziwiać ptaki i wiewiórki. Właścicielka jest urocza, poleca świetne miejscówki w okolicy. Świetne miejsce! W ośrodku jest słodki piesek Ginger, który śpi sobie w różnych miejscach na korytarzu, słodki jest!

Das Zimmer war groß, sauber und sehr komfortabel, und das ganze Haus ist liebevoll gestaltet und lädt zum Wohlfühlen ein. Die Besitzerin und Rashan waren unglaublich herzlich und immer für uns da – wir haben uns bestens betreut gefühlt. Auch die Lage ist ideal: In der Umgebung gibt es zahlreiche Restaurants – besonders das Red Snapper direkt gegenüber hat uns sofort überzeugt. Die entspannte Atmosphäre und die freundliche Betreuung haben unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht. Wir können das Guest House wärmstens empfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Reviewed Mar 24, 2025Very friendly owner made us feel right at home. The rooms had comfy beds, were a good size and had decent fans and AC. If you go to Unawatuna Flamingo is a great option. Not fancy but very homely and welcoming and has everything you need. There's also a couple of nice communal sitting areas for rainy days or chilling out It is situated right in the middle of everything.
The rooms are a little dark and our room at the back with a nice jungle view had frosted glass, which was a shame. Unawatuna itself is not a place I would return to but if you're there, I'd highly recommend Flamingo

Reviewed Mar 16, 2025The staff was amazing, such a nice people, available 24/7, supportive. You could feel like visiting your family (lovely family). Beautiful place for breakfast, the view was amazing. Having food preferences they were so open for our suggestions, eventually we had a unique breakfast, the best in Sri Lanka! :) I ordered "ocean view room" (which has a window/balcony to the street) without knowing how intense night life in Unawatuna is. The owner did so much effort to try to rearrange bookings to change into "jungle room" (opposite side with a garden view, much more quiet). Balcony was nice, view to the ocean above some buildings and trees, view to the busy street and bars downstars - it was very nice, colourful, chilling. You felt like perfect place for your vacations. Whatever question or wish we had, it was solved and answered immediately and with pleasure. Amazing how happy people the owner's family are! Location in the centre of everything. You leave the room and you have what you want (beach, water sport activities, street full of stores, travel agencies, tuk tuks, restaurants etc.)
If you're not fan of night life it might be to much noise to let you sleep while others are out. Also if you're not fun of russian hits ;) Just one plug in the room.

Therefore, it was too short at the ends of the bed and we still got biten

Bed very comfy with 2 pillows for each. The room was really clean too. Hope to go back one day. I gave them my laundry and they took care of it right away. Highly recommended

Front rooms are very noisy due to one or two beachside bars playing dance music into the early morning. The hosts did offer to move us into one of the back rooms which were better. We definitely recommend requesting a back room if you are at all sensitive to noise. Quite expensive - we have stayed in more luxurious hotels with better facilities on the south coast for a similar price. Also, should invest in warm white light bulbs.

The only thing that i did not like was when we had to pay, the conversion rate that the host asked for was much higher than the official rate and she gave all not so great reasons for that. Seems like they just wanted to squeeze money from us.

Very loud, windows with holes, animals crawled. No free shuttle, but on Booking.com said that free shuttle from/to airport.
