Property was as pictured. Room directly over the beach and the beautiful Indian Ocean . Great staff. Nothing too much bother. Good location to explore local attractions tho the beach was hard to leave.

This place was a little disapointing, the views were good & the rooms were ok but if we stayed in Unawatuna again we would stay around the cove where the best hotels are.

Right on the beach - this amazing gem is truly worth a visit. The staff and owner couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. The rooms are well appointed and we even had the pleasure of the company of the local turtle who we watched play around the rocks from our balcony. We booked one night and stayed three!

Wir waren zu 100 % zufrieden – alles hat uns wirklich sehr gut gefallen und war genau wie erwartet. Das Hotel verfügt auch über einen eigenen Strand, an dem man morgens und abends sehr gut baden kann, und auch mittags, obwohl die Wellen dann etwas stärker sind. Der Hauptstrand von Unawatuna ist nur fünf Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Außerdem kann man jederzeit ein Tuk-Tuk mieten. Der Gastgeber war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Die Klimaanlage funktioniert einwandfrei. Wir können dieses Hotel nur weiterempfehlen. Es ist im Vergleich zum Hauptstrand wirklich sehr ruhig, und wir würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen.

Amazing location right on the beach, wonderful to lie in bed and hear the ocean waves. Kind and friendly staff. Also loved our ground floor room built to accommodate natural rock features.

Traumhafte Lage direkt am Meer. Super Frühstück mit vielen frischen Früchten, einem frischen Fruchtsaft und sehr gutem Kaffee. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit.

Die Ausstattung ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, was wir aber bereits aus anderen Rezensionen wussten. Tipp: Mittlerweile gibt es eine Ocean Suite. Sie ist zwar etwas teurer, lässt aber keine Wünsche offen.

Для нас этот отель был самым лучшим по расположению в Унаватуне. Мы любим уединенные, не популярные, не шумные места отдыха. Отель расположен чуть вдали от активного веселья на побережье. Доехать до главной улицы Уны- 5 минут. Можно и пройтись по пляжу до всех активностей на пляже. Океан с отелем буквально сливается в поцелуе. Всю неделю океан каждую ночь и каждый день рассказывал нам свои истории. Иногда эти истории были страстными, иногда очень нежными и тихими. Нам больше всего понравился номер на третьем этаже , первый от лестницы, с видом на море. Мы купались в основном у отеля, хотя у нас были байки и мы ездили на разные пляжи, но с удовольствием возвращались на отельный пляж. Здесь мало людей, красивые камни, красивый вид, в тени пальм можно укрыться от солнца. Есть теплый душ внизу в кафе, чтобы смыть соленную воду и песок с себя. Очень приятный персонал отеля. Их не много, они постоянно в труде , но всегда улыбаются и заботливо помогают с чем-либо. Хозяин отеля очень отзывчивый, ответственный. Мы обращались к нему с личными просьбами : трансфер, где лучший массаж , и много другое .. и все наши вопросы он быстро помогал решить. В одном из номеров, в котором мы жили , была неисправна дверь в ванной, он быстро починил её сам. Очень приятно было наблюдать вовлеченность хозяина в качество проживания гостей. Почти Каждый завтрак хозяин спрашивал гостей : как вам здесь живется ? И все бытовые вопросы решал очень быстро . Ещё у хозяина есть вилла , в 15 минутах от моря , мы там жили некоторое время, пока не освободились номера в этом отеле . Вилла новая, все оборудование новое . Вдали от всего, с потрясающим видом на рисовые поля и с двумя живущими там павлинами: самкой и самцом. И много других птиц. Завтраки в отеле у океана очень плотные. Большая тарелка фруктов, омлет, кофе, чай, тосты с маслом, смузи . Красивая подача .

Есть куда расти в качестве номерного фонда, но по Ланкийским меркам- это лучшее размещение ( с учетом цена-качество) на побережье.

Wir können wirklich nichts bemängeln und wissen gar nicht wo wir anfangen sollen mit dem Lob. Es war eine der schönsten Unterkünfte unserer Sri Lanka Reise. Die Lage direkt am Strand ist ein Traum, so auch die Aussicht beim Frühstück. Unser Frühstückspersonal (Saddid?) war so herzlich, freundlich und aufgeschlossen - allgemein haben die Menschen vom Hotel einem ein gutes Gefühl gegeben. Das Frühstück an sich war ebenfalls ein Traum: ganz frisch und lecker. Ein toller Start neben dem Meeresrauschen. Wir können es nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

What a lovely place perfect for everything. Wonderful staff

основное здание старой постройки. бронировали 2 номера, один находится в полуподвальном помещении, но при этом по размеру и оборудованию в целом норм. кроме одного момента. в день отъезда за деньги продлили номер, чтобы спокойно поплавать, принять душ и уехать. вот только вода в номере закончилась совсем... после многочисленных попыток связаться с хозяином, воду включили. мелочь, но крайне неприятная. очень маленькая территория. в море на входе много камней, даже если вы хорошо плаваете, получить довольствие и расслабится в воде не получится.

грязное море, мусор после обеда прибивает к берегу, течения, как и почти везде на Шри-ланке. если вы любите поплавать долго, то не получится. вроде океан вот он рядом, а плавать не приятно и опасно.

Номер категории стандарт №3, в котором мы жили одну ночь, ужасен. старый убитый номер.

Апартаменты находятся на верхнем 4 этаже. 2 комнаты, кухня, 2 санузла. В гостиной нет кондиционера. Мы не знали, что нужно сделать, чтобы у нас убрали. В итоге за 3 дня уборки в номере не было ни разу. Рядом 3-5 мин с пляжем Унаватуна.

Все по запросу. Если не спросите, то не получите, например, пляжные полотенца.

Расположение лучшее,чем я когда-либо отдыхала,шум океана совсем не мешал спать,а ласкал уши.Всё,что описывалось-соответствовало и даже Превзошло ожидания.Вкусный,красивый завтрак в 0 метрах от океана до сих пор перед глазами!

An amazing beachfront stay! Although we stayed at La Veranda di Serena for only one night, we truly enjoyed every moment and were genuinely sad that we couldn’t stay longer. The location is simply perfect – right on the beach, with a stunning view from the terrace where you can practically jump straight into the sea. It felt like a dream. The owner was extremely kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was fantastic – fresh, delicious, and prepared with care. We also greatly appreciated the airport transfer arrangement, which made our arrival smooth and stress-free. Everything was absolutely perfect. Highly recommended!

Location perfect. Right on the beach, it was nice to see the turtles swimming around. Breakfast was good.

The shower could've been cleaner. The wardrobe door was off and just shoved in between the wall and wardrobe.

We had a beach room (the only room on the ground floor) and it opened up with a place to sit and to get to the dining area. The place to sit wasn't the greatest - and waves pretty consistently splashed up and left a lot of sand.

I don't think there was anything not to like really. It was about what we expected and was a good place for the price. The breakfasts were good with lots of food - eggs, toast, fruit, smoothie etc.

We are staying at this hotel for the 4th time, and it truly feels like coming back home. The best thing about this place is definitely the location — the waves are literally right under your window. There is a small, clean, private beach, and turtles come here every day, so you can watch them swimming very close to the shore. We always choose a sea-view room, because having morning coffee with an ocean view is simply priceless. Highly recommended — we will definitely come back again!

Wow what a property and what a location! It’s everything it says and more and yes there are turtles in the sea outside. Listening to the sound of the waves on an evening is just thriving in the cake. The staff and the breakfasts were fantastic. You won’t be disappointed booking this place.

The location is amazing and the staff is very friendly. The owner is very accommodating! 10/10 The view of the beach at sunset is top notch and not crowded at all.

We booked specifically to see the turtles and hear the sea, and we weren't disappointed. The view from the balcony was fantastic, with the turtles swimming by throughout the day, amazing sunsets, and the lovely staff, we loved our 3 days here.

I had a great stay here. It was close to the main part of Unawatuna - easily walkable and the room was spacious, bed was comfortable, had a good shower and everything was clean. It is literally right on the waters edge with a tiny beach in front of it which was so quaint and it was really nice to be able to hear the waves as I drifted off to sleep and the terrace was stunning - for this location I wish I could have stayed longer, it was truly beautiful. In the morning I was arranged a taxi to take me to Ella for a very good price (payed the hotel by card) and my driver was really nice. I could also leave my bags by reception until I came back at 6:30pm which was very helpful. I would recommend staying here. All the staff were very kind and as a solo female traveller I felt safe and cared for in this beautiful setting.

Check out is at 11 not 11:30 like it says on booking. I would say that it is quite expensive for the area and not drastically better than much cheaper options but if you can afford it, do it. 🙏🏽

Amazing location, very good breakfast and fantastic staff! Overall a highly recommended place in Unawatuna. Additionally, the property has its own airport transfer service at very good value, as well as designated tuk tuk driver with preferential prices.

The rooms could use a bit of upgrade, especially on the furniture side (bed, mattress, closet) Would recommend also installing an espresso machine

My mum and I absolutely loved our stay at La Veranda di Serena. The ocean views from our room were beautiful and hearing the sound of the ocean on daily basis brought a lot of peace. We saw turtles every morning and we even found some unique seashells on the small beach in front of the property. The location is great, 2 minutes walk to the main Unawatuna beach. The room was comforable and the breakfast lovely. The owner and staff at La Veranda di Serena were very friendly and welcoming and they even helped with a car ride back to Colombo. I will definitely be back at this property as it is a unique cute little place.

Všetko bolo super,

A személyzet kedves volt. A szállás elhelyezkedése közvetlen az oceánparton, reggel a teknősöket lehet látni az erkélyröl. Esténként voltunk csak a szálláson, mert pár perc sétára van a strand. Természetesen a szállásnál is lehet fürödni, ha nem szeretik a tömeget. Külön köszönet a személyzetnek, hogy az ott felejtett gyűrűt megtalálták és oda adták az álltalunk küldött embernek, hogy eljuson hozzánk. Még egyszer köszönet!

Bellissima vista sull’oceano dove è possibile vedere anche le tartarughe. Colazione abbondante e veramente buona e mista con frutta, omelette, pane e marmellata e smoothie. Staff molto gentile e disponibile.

Non è stata pulita la camera e non è stato rifatto il letto, né rifornita la carta igienica ma forse sono cose che vengono fatte se uno rimane più tempo. Noi siamo rimasti due notti, non so. Bagno con poca areazione e quindi molto caldo e umido.

Потрясающее расположение. Собственный маленький пляж на который приплывают черепахи. Мы жили в семейном номере на последнем этаже. Очень просторно и потрясающий вид и звук океана. Хозяин Чандана и персонал гостиницы проявили максимальную клиентоориентированность в создании праздничной атмосферы в ДР дочери.

Если вы прихотливы в еде, то вам захочется через пару дней разнообразия на завтрак.

Our stay was fantastic! The ocean view is breathtaking—we even spotted turtles swimming right from the hotel. The rooms are spacious and cool, and the breakfast is good. The owner and the staff are the heart of this place: incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and helpful with organizing activities. A special thanks for the wonderful Christmas surprise—a delicious national fruit cake! It was such a warm, personal touch. The location is perfect: you can swim right in front or walk 15 mins to Dalawella to see more turtles. Highly recommended!

Отличный новый номер,все есть,даже телевизор с интернетом.Красивая терраса-балкон с потрясающим видом на океан.Персонал очень услужливый,недалеко от центра.Есть свой небольшой пляж,где нет посторонних людей.

Были случаи когда другие постояльцы приходили на наш балкон,было не комфортно.

Ha superado nuestras expectativas este alojamiento enfrente del mar. Hemos visto tortugas marinas desde nuestra habitación. Hemos dormido plácidamente con el sonido de las olas de fondo, un sueño. Una habitación pequeña pero muy cómoda con todo el mobiliario y accesorios necesarios: lugar donde colgar la ropa, donde poner las maletas. Agua caliente y aire acondicionado han funcionado correctamente. Lo más destacable de este lugar es su personal, que nos han tratado con mucha amabilidad y nos han servido un desayuno buenísimo. Excelente también ha sido el trato del dueño del hotel quien nos ha dado una vuelta en su Mini Cooper de 1961, ha sido un maravilloso detalle para completar una perfecta estancia. 100% recomendable

Unfortunately it was not as reflected in the visuals. The room size was smaller than it was promoted. The facility's isolation was not good enough so it was very noisy in the room

Excellent experience! I got upgraded to a room with sea view which made a huge difference. There is a couple of great restaurants nearby in walking distance. The staff was super helpful, friendly and kind with a huge smile.

Прекрасное расположение с видом на океан, с балкона можно наблюдать, как плавают черепахи. До основного пляжа идти 10-15 минут, но можно поплавать и на маленьком пляже под самим отелем. Ни с горячей водой, ни с интернетом проблем не было, уборка по требованию. Алкомаркет(центр притяжения в Уне) в двух минутах от отеля.

Персонал отличный, расположение(пляж унаватуна 10 мин пешком, пляж черепах 3 мин на тук-туке , 15 мин автобусом до Галле ). Трансфер из аэропорта. Отличные сытные завтраки.

Океан под окнами! Приветливый хозяин и персонал. Завтрак под шум прибоя и вид вокруг. Сам завтрак - сытный, хоть и однообразный - три варианта приготовления пары яиц) + свежий фреш и нарезка фруктов. Шикарная кровать в спальне и неплохой набор мягкой мебели в гостиной. Отель стоит между океаном и центральной дорогой, что удобно - тук-тук привозит прям к отелю, а шум прибоя перебивает всеь шуи с улицы.

Заказывая различные сервисы через хозяина вы переплатите! Второй раз аппартаменты бы не брал - на кухне из описания только холодильник, мойка и чайник с посудой. Т.е. разогреть и приготовить самим не где. Телевизора тоже вроде небыло, но он и не нужен)). Своего балкона у номера нет - или открывешь окна и все насекомые в гости к вам, или спускаться на балконы ниже при условии, что там номера не заняты!!!

This was the best place we stayed at in Sri Lanka: the suite has loads of room, a big living area, 2 bathrooms (one ensuite) and a kitchen. Lots of colonial features. The ensuite looks directly out over the sea - you couldn't be any closer without being IN the sea. You can see several resident turtles in the little bay all the time. One laid eggs in the beach there but we were 10 days early to see them hatch, alas. Breakfast was really good with the option of having it on the sand or inside. The owner is extremely helpful. A WhatsApp number in your room gives you access to him for any issues or help. Its to the fat side of the bay, but there's loads of restaurants, liquor store and general shop v close. Cannot recommend this place enough.

По кокосовой пальме перед балконом бегали бурундучки, летали светлячки. Черепахи у берега круглосуточно тусуются независимо от сезона, их видно с балкона😁

Очень уютный маленький отельчик на берегу океана. Нам все очень понравилось, есть небольшой пляж рядом с отелем, часто по утрам купались здесь. Завтраки традиционные, нам хватало, всегда были соки, фрукты. В номере чисто, по запросу делают уборку. Очень интересно было прямо из номера наблюдать за черепахами, которые живут в скалах около отеля.

The hotel is located right on the beach, offering stunning views—especially from the breakfast table. Breakfast was generous, with a good selection including toast, fresh fruit, smoothies, tea or coffee, and omelettes. I opted for the most budget-friendly option, the 'garden room', which was simple but had the essentials I needed. The accomodation was about a 10 min walk to the main Unawatuna beach - some of this walk was via the main road which might be difficult for some travellers.

Unfortunately, the room had a noticeable musty smell, and there was visible black mould in several areas, including the bathroom, fridge seal, and some wooden furniture. This made the space feel uncomfortable and even affected my clothes. Additionally, the door lock was quite stiff and required a lot of force to secure properly. The hotel is adjacent to the owner’s family home, so it was common to hear children playing near the reception area or outside the rooms. While I didn’t mind this, it gave the place more of a homestay feel than a typical hotel experience.

The location is great, next to the Unawatuna beach. There is a small beach in front, but we didn't swim there because of the waves. There are many restaurants and shops nearby. The view from the terrace is fantastic. We went to the Jungle beach, a nice, small beach, but it was crowded with locals as we visited it on Sunday. The apartment is spotless; you have free coffee and tea, and a beer in the fridge for an additional charge of 750 rupias 🙂

To say it is beachfront is an understatement! The waves come right up to the hotel! Gazing out to sea from the shared balcony is lovely, especially when a turtle comes swimming by. The villa is very pretty and is positioned on the coastal road (10 minutes walk to the main town areas or 3 min tuk tuk). It is on a small beach with rocky outcrops each side making it private, Swimming is possible but there are waves. Beach beds/towels are available. It is just around the corner to the main Unawatuna beach area, with it's multiple bars, restaurants, etc. The main beach can be lively at night with music etc from the beach bars. This villa is near enough to get involved should you wish, and also quiet enough should you not. Our room was a little compact, but everything worked, it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. No real road noise but you will hear the sea. Quite mesmerising. Tea/coffee and a small fridge, A/C, safe, but no tv in our room. The owner and his family live adjacent. He and the staff are very friendly. Room made up daily should you wish. Breakfast overlooking the sea was good: European, with eggs, toast, jam, fruit and a very nice smoothie. Tea/Coffee. The owner can arrange trips if you wish and also provided our onward transport. Easy access by tuk tuk to Galle Fort and other surrounding areas. We enjoyed our stay at La Veranda di Serena.

The furnishings are a little tired. The large bed, although comfortable, could only be accessed from one side and the foot of the bed.

We had a great stay in La Veranda. Our top floor appartment was huge, with an ocean view from every room including bathroom. Seeing big sea turtles coming to the ocean surface in the morning was amazing. The hotel personnel is very helpful and caring. There a lot of good restaurants in the area.

The furniture is very old, the room has a smell. It looks dirty because the things there are old. It needs some renovation because the property has a good potential. The bed is uncomfortable, the bathroom door very noisy
