An incredible property consisting of 4 beautifully themed and decorated bedrooms incorporating the South Africa vibe. The stay includes 24 hour access to an inviting lounge living room (opposite a gorgeous pool surrounded by greenery, squirrels, and the odd monkey) that felt like a home away from home. The incredible hosts and owners Adrian and Marie greeted us with a free beverage and explained the area in great detail, providing maps, details, and recommendations based on recent sightings and weather - they even help set up boat tours or guided safaris. Every morning the breakfast spread was a vast offering of mostly homemade goods that tasted healthy and delicious! It truly felt like we were part of the family, even as we drove away to our hosts waving goodbye. I cannot recommend this stay enough.

I enjoyed everything. I would advise that the bedroom and bathroom are separated by a large dividing wall (so not door), in case that’s an issue for some couples.

Our stay at Kwalucia Safari Retreat was truly special, and it is a place we will remember with great affection. What struck us most was the incredible care and attention that Marie and Adrian put into making their guests feel special. Every little detail is thoughtfully taken care of, and you can genuinely feel how much love and passion they put into their home and into welcoming people. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with so many wonderful homemade products prepared by Marie herself. Every morning felt like a little treat. The property is surrounded by beautiful greenery and is in a perfect location in St Lucia: close to everything, yet peaceful and quiet. Our room was beautiful and cozy, with a lovely traditional African style that made the experience feel even more authentic. But what truly makes Kwalucia special are Marie and Adrian themselves. They don’t simply welcome you as guests: they make you feel like you are being welcomed into their world. Their warmth and genuine hospitality make you feel at home from the very beginning. There are places where you simply stay for a few nights, and then there are places that leave you with a feeling. Kwalucia was definitely the latter for us. Thank you, Marie and Adrian, for making our stay so warm, special and memorable. We truly hope to come back one day. ❤️

Marie and Adrian run this absolutely wonderful little hotel with an incredible eye for detail and so much love. Having traveled to more than 25 countries, I can say this place ranks among the very best I’ve stayed at. You can feel the love and dedication they’ve poured into every corner of it. Breakfast is a particular highlight — mostly homemade, and the omelette alone is worth the trip (it will make you forget every worry you came with). On arrival, Adrian, who grew up in the region, sits down with you and shares genuine local recommendations. You can book everything through them directly, with no markup or added fees. After that, it feels like you become part of their family for the duration of your stay. They support you even with unusual requests (like when we forgot our jackets for whale watching, and Adrian lent us his own) and in unusual situations too — one day, our safari got delayed when an elephant blocked the road for over an hour. Adrian drove out to the gate himself to let them know what was going on, and waited there for almost an hour after closing time until we finally arrived. I have never experienced this level of care for every single guest. The garden is beautiful, and the rooms are big, clean, fresh, and perfectly fit the vibe of St. Lucia. There’s a pool to use, and dogs you’re welcome to cuddle with (no pressure if that’s not your thing). Huge recommendation!

Much too short stay! St Lucia has so much to offer!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay at Kwalucia. The room was spacious, quiet and beautifully furnished. Surrounded by a lush garden and quick easy walk to the local shops and restaurants as well as walks to the beach and beyons. The breakfasts were delicious and the hosts made me feel at home with local advice.

Chambre spacieuse, petit déjeuner exceptionnel avec des produits fait maison, nous nous sommes régalés. Emplacement idéal, nous avons vu les fameux hippopotames le soir dans la rue d'à coté et c'est à deux pas du centre ville.

Chambre un peu sombre dù à la végétation, un peu plus de luminosité serait plus agréable, et nous pensions d'après les photos que la chambre serait un peu plus "contemporaine". Mais les propriétaires sont accueillants et nous ont aidé avec beaucoup de conseils et nous ont permis de partir un peu plus tard!

Zentrale Lage, fussläufig zur Hauptstrasse mit Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, sowie Craft Market. Liebevoll dekorierte Zimmer. Nette Eigentümer mit guten Tips für Aktivitäten. Aussergewöhnlich gutes Frühstück mit selbst hergestellten Produkten, Marmelade, Joghurt und Müsli und Brot. Natürlich auch Wurst, Käse, Früchteteller und Eierspeisen nach Wahl.

Tout ! La ville de Sainte Lucie, les activités autour, le lieu avec le jardin si tropical et bien entretenu ! La piscine, la chambre, le lieu commun, tout décoré avec détail et un goût délicat. Le petit déjeuner est exceptionnel. Les hôtes sont flexibles, toujours prêts à aider et d’une hospitalité excellente ! On a été déçue de ne pas rester plus de 2 nuits. Un vrai petit paradis.

A la fin de notre séjour, ils nous ont glissé sur notre lit une délicatesse attention : message en forme de parchemin que nous avons trouvé original et de la musique d’ambiance afin de nous remercier. Ce lodge est magnifique et représente l’Afrique dans tout son art. Que dire de plus, nous avons un tout adoré 🥰 et nous vous les recommandons fortement 🥰.

The location of Kwalucia is within other surrounding facilities and restaurants, great atmosphere, good value for money. Marie and Adrian made our stay an easy one to remember with every guidance needed to navigate the area. The room was super clean with aircon.

Eine wunderbare Unterkunft, bei lieben und sehr, sehr hilfsbereiten Menschen. Soviel wunderschöne Details bei der Ausstattung der gesamten Anlage habe ich auf all meinen Reisen noch nicht gesehen und ... eine der wenigen Unterkünfte in SA mit Moskitoschutz in den Fenstern. Wer sich hier nicht wohl fühlt, sollte besser zu Hause bleiben.

The host, Adrian, will provide you with any possible tip and advise on things to do. On the second day all guests were offered a splurge of freshly fished tuna and instructions on which restaurant we could have it prepared for us. magical!

Adrian and Marie were simply spectacular hosts! The accommodation has a level of comfort and attention to details that it’s simply exceptional.. We felt cocooned and taken care of. Not to mention the breakfast, simply wow! We loved the dogs, super sweet and calm. The room was big, bed comfy and all you could have wanted was already there without asking! And then the hosts had always a suggestion for what we could do. It honestly felt like visiting people you’ve known since a very long time!

That we didn’t stay longer! But definitely a place to come back, also to spend time with Adrian and Marie!

Kwalucia is a lovely family-run bed and breakfast. The room was its own independent unit which was very tastefully furnished in African style. The bed was very comfortable and the bathtub and shower were top notch. The garden is very lush and makes you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. Adrian and Marie are extremely friendly and attentive and happy to give you recommendations and advice. They’re always very easy to reach if you have questions. Breakfast is also very good. Overall, a fantastic stay and I would definitely consider going back if I happen in the area again.

The only minor improvement point is that, since the bathroom and bedroom are not physically separate (as one can see from the photos) there is light coming in from the back window early in the morning. Also the curtains are not fully blackout so you can expect to wake up early. I’m usually quite sensitive to light when sleeping but this didn’t bother me much on this occasion.

Das schönste Quartier unserer Rundreise, hier fehlt es einem wirklich an nichts. Wunderschön eingerichtete Räume in einem tollen Garten, super tolle Gastgeber, perfekte Lage im Ort und zu allen Ausflugszielen. Es gibt ein liebevoll zusammen gestelltes und köstliches Frühstück und viele Tipps. Liebe Marie, lieber Adrian nochmals vielen Dank.

Der Garten ist ein Traum, allerdings wird es schwierig in diesem Dschungel einen Sonnenplätzchen zu finden.

We had the most wonderful four days at Kwalucia – truly exceptional in every way. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful little touches, everything was perfect. The breakfasts were outstanding, all homemade with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. The rooms and communal were spotless and beautifully maintained, with incredible attention to detail. Adrian and Marie went above and beyond, even taking the boys to play golf twice – such kindness and generosity. Thank you for making our last days in South Africa so special. We can’t recommend Kwalucia highly enough

What an unforgettable stay!! Kwalucia is pure magic: gorgeous African-style rooms hidden in a lush jungle garden, breakfasts that belong in a five-star hotel (homemade granola, homemade yogurt, freshly baked bread, fresh juices, perfect coffee), and the kindest hosts you could ever imagine. They welcomed us with drinks, gave us a map full of tips, arranged tours for us, refreshed our room daily, surprised us with a handwritten “bedtime story,” and even packed us a fresh breakfast-to-go at 5:30 AM(!!!) Their warmth and hospitality took our stay to the next level: Kwalucia is an absolute gem, 10/10! ✨

Very warm welcome and full experience hospitality! Breakfast is amazing! Although Hippo’s are eating at night in the opposite of the entrance, it is still very peaceful and quiet. You can walk to all nice restaurants in 5 minutes.

Wat een fantastische gastheer en gastvrouw! Dank je wel Adriaan & Marie voor de fantastische dagen! Alles was tot in de puntjes verzorgd, de kamers, het ontbijt en de geboekte excursies! De vers gevangen tonijn die voor ons bereid werd in Ocean Grill was de kers op de taart, we hebben genoten bij jullie!

Als ik dan een puntje van kritiek mag geven…..het ontbijt was werkelijk heerlijk met huisgemaakte producten! Er zat liefde in dat was duidelijk maar het duurde erg lang voor de warme gerechten geserveerd werden.

Marie and Adrian are wonderful and warm hosts, organizing tours, giving valuable information and looking after us so that we felt very much at home. Marie is a wonderful cook and her breakfasts never failed to surprise us. Kwalucia is on one of the main hippo walks up from the water and we often had sightings. Beautiful tree filled garden providing much shade.

What a beautiful stay at Kwalucia! Everything has been so perfect. At the arrival, Adrian and Marie took the time to sit and explain the area with a map, recommend activities and restaurants. Before my arrival, I was communicating with Marie who helped a lot with organizing all of the activities. Thanks a lot. Let’s talk about the breakfasts prepared by the hosts! Amazing! The room is very confortable. The location is also perfect, few minutes walk to go to the main road. I will come back!

We had a really nice good sized, authentic African themed room in the gardens of this lovely property. Clean, comfortable and with a very special ambience in the room, the main house and in the garden. A very special place. The breakfasts were the best we’ve had at any property with home made focaccia, sourdough and preserves. Freshly prepared seasonal fruits with Greek yogurt and a cooked breakfast. Adrian and Marie were exemplary hosts. Very attentive but never too much so. Adrian gave us great advice on places to go based on what we wanted. His advice was spot on. A perfect stay. Thank you.

This Bed & breakfast is the perfect location for your stay in St. Lucia. It is central situated, has nice design and the Breakfast is excellent. Most of the food is homemade. But it is more than a hotel because of the people. Marie and Adrian make you feel like a family home. They organise your tours when you wish and help when needed. They both are very hearty. So the stay is really comfortable.

Very private bed and breakfast with comfortable rooms and lovely pool. Centrally located with a short walk to the restaurants on the high street. Excellent hosts Adrian and Marie made our stay extra special.

We loved every minute of our stay. The owners Marie and Adrian go out of their way to make your stay memorable, the location and the garden is just soo beautiful and the rooms are big & integrated into the gorgeous garden and have comfortable beds. There are lots of things to do in St. Lucia, the Hippos walked by while we had dinner in town😂 and Cape Vidal ist just perfect for a day at the sea.

A wonderful find. Great quality accommodation, a few minutes walk from town but with the beautiful gardens it was like staying in a tropical paradise, with resident tree squirrels and chameleons. Hippos on the corner in the evening! Adrian and Marie were so helpful, organising trips for us. Lots of personal touches and fabulous breakfasts, different every day. We were sorry to leave.

Adrian went out of his way to help us with a great itinerary for our stay in St Lucia and was extremely helpful, even lending us equipment to enjoy a day on the beach. The room was very comfortable and nicely furnished, and breakfast was excellent. The surrounding area is very interesting and incredibly beautiful.

Everything, especially Adrian & Marie - absolutely fantastic hosts! They go out of their way to make sure you have the most incredible time & that every aspect of your stay is perfect. The beds were so comfortable, bathrooms are beautiful & you’re surrounded by tropical plants. Breakfast were to die for, we went deep sea fishing & they packed us the most delicious breakfast pack to take with us, even woke up to wake us goodbye & good luck for our fishing trip at 4:30! Incredible people. This place is not to be missed, we had the best time and wish we could stay longer!!

Magnificient place inside a lovely garden. Breakfast outstanding. Biggest asset is by far the host/owners Marie and Adrian who are remarkable in all aspects. We loved our stay in Kwalucia and we hope to be able to return one day.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were able to answer any questions we had and were so knowledgeable. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic! I am not a huge fruit lover, but the fruit was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious, as was everything else we tried.

The hosts Adrian and Marie offered a very warm welcome. Adrian told us all about the local area, he's lived in St Lucia most of his life, and helped us put together an itinerary for our 4 days there. He then booked tours and safaris for us and even loaned us his golf clubs free of charge. The breakfast provided by Marie was fantasic and varied every day. Only 5 minutes walk and we even saw hippos in the park opposite (Marie messaged us to tell us they were there). Excellent place, lovely people, highly recommend.

Having to leave

It is an amazing place we want to come back to. We were delighted during our stay for several reasons. Firstly, our room was beautifully decorated. Every small detail, including the scent, was carefully considered. For instance, there is a comfortable bathtub with a bathtub tray and candles; the sink is decorated with the image of a hippo. There are gels, shampoos, body lotions, cotton swabs, and pads near the sink – all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, and I must say we are quite particular about it. There is a TV in the room – although we didn't watch it, we enjoyed listening to the radio with local and classical music. Additionally, we were provided with tea, coffee, and small snacks in the room. Secondly, the owner of the place, Adrian, helped us plan and organize our stay in St. Lucia. Thanks to him, we had the best experience during our entire journey in South Africa. We had a boat tour to see hippos. Importantly, we were on a boat with only a few tourists and a knowledgeable guide, while other ships were crowded with people. Our guide showed us some additional sights. The next day, we went ocean fishing, and there were only five of us on the boat. We were very lucky, and for 3.5 hours, we enjoyed whale watching. Now, we have hundreds of pictures and videos of whales, and I even caught a big tuna! Adrian joined us to ensure the fish was properly cooked in the restaurant. It was a delicious and unique experience; we had never eaten such fresh tuna. Adrian also provided suggestions about restaurants, local markets, and other excursions. We truly appreciated the way he and Marie treated us. Thirdly, the breakfasts were superb. In the evening, guests can come to the hall, have a drink, and listen to music. There were books and photo albums available. For those interested, there is a small pool. We didn't swim but enjoyed its illumination in the evenings. We highly recommend booking this place.

We cannot think of a better hospitality than what we experienced here! Adrian and Marie really love what they do and you feel it every minute. Attention to detail, wonderful homemade breakfast, tips and advices, answers on all questions we had. Just excellent! Go there if you are in St. Lucia!!!

Very nice place to stay! The owners are allways looking after Your needs. They give You importants hints where to go, where to have diner and all about the national parks close by. The breakfast is really outstanding!!!!! Self made bread, better than out of the bakery! All healthy food with a lot of love on top!. Daily weather forecasts inclusive! Very helpful!! P.S. the warm blanket in the bed are not be missed.....
